This is a takeout sushi specialty store located in Ecute Shinagawa. The owner, Takewaka, runs several sushi restaurants in Tokyo, including in Tsukiji. They have also opened a branch in Tokyo Station called Tsukiji Takewaka Gransta, offering high-end takeout sushi. The prices are relatively high, with individual portions costing over 1,000 yen. They offer Takewaka nigiri for 1,550 yen, as well as other options like seafood bowls (1,280 yen), limited edition seafood nigiri (1,000 yen), and bluefin tuna bowls (1,000 yen). I tried the seafood bowl (1,280 yen), which featured three slices of bluefin tuna in the center. The ingredients were reminiscent of Tsukiji and Edomae styles. The bluefin tuna was fatty and high-quality, without any sinewiness. The eel had a moderate amount of sauce, providing a well-balanced flavor. The shrimp was thick and impressive, while the white fish included red snapper and golden eye snapper. Both were delicious, with the red snapper being firm and flavorful, and the golden eye snapper having a rich taste and a slight skin texture. The salmon roe was slightly smaller than usual but added a nice touch to the dish. The tamagoyaki was sweet, typical of Tsukiji-style. The vinegared rice had a subtle flavor, allowing the freshness of the sushi ingredients to shine through. The high-quality tuna and golden eye snapper showcased the best of Tokyo's seafood, while the eel, red snapper, and shrimp reflected the traditional Edomae sushi flavors. The packaging was neat and efficient, and they provided ice packs upon request. Overall, it's a great place to enjoy authentic Tokyo sushi flavors as a souvenir or for a quick meal on the Shinkansen.

This is a takeout sushi restaurant located inside Ecute Shinagawa at Shinagawa Station. The operating company, Takewaka, was acquired in an M&A deal about a year ago and is now under the umbrella of the steak restaurant Asakuma. On this particular weekend day, I had planned to revisit the New Wave fish store Sakana Bakka in the same area, where I had previously enjoyed delicious grilled amberjack sushi. However, I was informed that the grilled amberjack would not be available until 2 pm, so I decided to purchase sushi from this restaurant instead. I bought the following items: - Popular No.2 Salt Sushi Set for 1300 yen - 3 pieces of amberjack sushi for 550 yen - Fatty tuna roll for 680 yen. The salt sushi set included 9 pieces of white fish, shrimp, and shellfish sushi, while the amberjack sushi consisted of 3 lightly seared pieces. Upon tasting, all of the sushi was decently good, but the standout was the fatty tuna roll. The salt sushi set, eaten with the accompanying salt, was interesting but didn't necessarily enhance the flavors. The seared amberjack was not as impressive, and I personally find the combination of seared fish and sushi rice a bit off-putting. Perhaps my high expectations from the amberjack sushi at Sakana Bakka influenced my slightly critical evaluation.

Sunday. Around 10:30 AM. I was looking for a bento box at Shinagawa Station before heading back home. I was searching for Wakahiro's grilled mackerel sushi, but couldn't find it. I thought it was on the 1st floor of Ecute, but maybe it's closed. I checked the shelf of South's famous bento shop, Mai, where I had bought it before, but it wasn't there. Disappointing, I was really craving that grilled mackerel... Oh well, I looked for other mackerel sushi options and found one. I couldn't miss this opportunity, so I got the mackerel sushi. It took me a while to find it, and now it's almost time to depart. I got on the Nozomi Shinkansen and started eating right away. Enjoying the mackerel sushi with a can of chu-hi is always delicious. The roll had a little mackerel, but was more like pickled turnip sushi. The weather is nice today. Mount Fuji is visible, with a few clouds covering it. Well, I still have plenty of time until Himeji. Maybe I'll take a nap, slightly tipsy.

Visited on a Saturday morning. The restaurant had a Foodlog rating of 3.17 at the time of the visit. I was returning home from Shinagawa and was looking for breakfast options there. Choices were limited in the early 7 o'clock hour and a bit boring. I decided to try a restaurant that I hadn't reviewed yet, and saw the word "eel" on the menu. Without hesitation, I purchased 3 pieces of eel sushi for 580 yen and ate it on the Shinkansen. The fish was thin, the sauce was sweet, and the unique flavor of eel was weak. I may have made the wrong choice... Next time, I want to go for something safe like fatty tuna. That's all, Osomatsu-san!

I looked for a bento box at Ecute Shinagawa Station for a late-night meal. Near the center, they were offering samples of ice cream. There was a line to try it, but I wasn't in the mood to wait, so I continued to look for a bento. They had a variety of sushi rolls, including eel-filled ones, but I opted for a simple four-piece sushi roll. It was a light and satisfying choice.

I ended up at Kawachiya~ Wow, this is the 100th sushi review~ I actually wanted to go to Tsukiji Sushikai, but it was a strange time, so I gave up and decided to buy dinner at Shinagawa Station. I already had some side dishes, so I was looking for something light for my meal. I wandered around inside Ecute. Hmm, maybe sushi would be good. If I didn't have to worry about time, I really wanted to go to Sushikai. As I was casually walking around, a lively salesman caught my attention. He recommended the "Salt Nigiri" which is currently very popular and even featured on TV. You eat it with vinegar and salt. It caught my interest and looked delicious, so I bought it. I think it was around 1,300 yen. The Shinkansen gates accept cards. Ticketless is convenient, right? I'm not taking the Nozomi, just the Hikari. When you book with an EX card, the discount rate is higher for Hikari and Kodama. I won't take the Kodama though. Now, I think the choice of this nigiri is excellent. It seems like it would go well with vinegar and salt. After trying it, I found it delicious. This will be good for my way back from Shinagawa. I'll also buy some yakitori. I recommend it!

Shinagawa Station. Taking the Shinkansen heading west. Feeling a bit hungry and craving for beer. First, bought Sapporo beer. Next, let's choose some light sushi at "Tsukiji Takewaka". So many options, but I chose the maguro set for 680 yen. Akami, chu-toro, o-toro perhaps? Or akami, regular, chu-toro? Well, delicious either way! There's also tamago. Started with akami. Light and tasty. Sipped on the beer. Then had the two toro pieces. Easy to eat and delicious. Satisfied. Thank you for the meal. Fall 2018.

I was passing by and was drawn to the fact that there was not just one type of Hosomaki, so I decided to purchase it. What I received was the following: Hosomaki and Futomaki for 550 yen. I enjoyed it with some green tea at home. The Futomaki contained tamagoyaki, shiitake mushrooms, kanpyo (gourd strips), cucumber, and flying fish roe. The popping texture of the flying fish roe was enjoyable and delicious. The Hosomaki had tarako (cod roe), kanpyo, and shiso (perilla leaf). Both were delicious and visually appealing. It was also nice to have a slice of tamagoyaki included. Even though I was tempted by the neighboring inari sushi shop (I love inari sushi), I'm glad I tried this place for the first time. If I have the chance, I would like to try other sushi from here as well.

I was planning to visit Tsukiji or Toyosu for sushi, but couldn't make it to those popular places. So, I decided to treat myself to some sushi to soothe my tired body and stomach. It was delicious. The wasabi had a natural spiciness that wasn't too overpowering, and it was really tasty. I enjoyed it on the way back home on the Shinkansen.

I was browsing for dinner at Ecute in Shinagawa Station and stumbled upon this place. The eel rice ball from a shop in Mie was delicious, similar to this one. The eel pressed sushi was 1,600 yen. Hmm, eel is best when freshly grilled, but this one was a bit tough, almost like chewing on rubber. The rice had a hint of eel flavor and was mixed with sesame seeds and sauce, which was nice.

After work on Sunday, I bought sushi to take home. I got the Wakatake nigiri for 1,550 yen, and I was satisfied with the three pieces of tuna. The sushi rice wasn't too vinegary and had a gentle taste, which was delicious!

I ordered takeout. Each piece of sushi was large and satisfying to eat. They were delicious and you could also eat them with lemon or salt, not just soy sauce. I feel like I would want to stop by again before transferring to the local train after arriving by Shinkansen. I will buy again.

I arrived at Shinagawa Station and stopped by the station building. As I was looking around at various shops, I came across a sushi restaurant offering an eel bento box. The place has expanded quite a bit, although I wouldn't say it's on par with Tokyo Station. The restaurant is called "Tsukiji Takewaka Ecute Shinagawa Store." I had already reserved sushi elsewhere, so I decided to try something different here. - Eel Chirashi: 850 yen The eel, cut into sushi-like shapes, was placed on top of chirashi sushi, complete with a sprinkle of sansho pepper. The chirashi sushi also contained ingredients like kinshi tamago (shredded omelette), black beans, and carrots mixed in. A small cucumber on the side added a nice touch. Surprisingly, it was well-received, and I ended up finishing it in no time.

Sometimes, I buy bento boxes on the Shinkansen trains. This time, I purchased the Toro Uni Ikura Don for 1980 yen. First of all, I was impressed by the volume and quality of the fatty tuna. There were five large and juicy pieces of toro, with some extra trimmings as well. The amount of sea urchin and salmon roe was a bit small, but it added a luxurious touch to the meal. The generous servings of wasabi and pickled ginger were also a nice touch. The rice wasn't too vinegary, which was a pleasant surprise for a bento box. The container was deep, and it contained about two bowls of rice, making it a satisfying meal on its own for dinner.

I purchased this on my way back from a business trip to Shinagawa. The station was very crowded before 7pm, but the name "Kai-zukushi" caught my eye with just the right amount and the grilled clam sushi. There was a little less wasabi, but the sushi rice was delicious and I really enjoyed the grilled clam. Thank you for the meal!

I often shop at Takewaka-san in Tokyo Station, but when I visited the Takewaka-san in Shinagawa Station on Sunday mornings, there were few options and I just looked around. This time, I visited around 3:00 PM on a Saturday and found a wide variety of options including not only sushi but also salmon bowl, tuna bowl, conger eel, mixed chirashi sushi, and more. I was honestly undecided on what to choose. In the end, I purchased the seafood bowl for 1280 yen. It had tuna, flounder, red snapper, shrimp, kanpachi, salmon, small fish, marinated tuna, kohada, conger eel, salmon roe, flying fish roe, egg, ginger, cucumber, shiso leaf, and wasabi on top of vinegared rice. The highlight was the thickly sliced tuna. The rice portion was on the smaller side, allowing the seafood flavors to stand out more. There was also a generous amount of pickled ginger, which could almost serve as a meal on its own with a glass of ginger highball. I received compliments on the deliciousness from acquaintances as well. It was worth the choice I made. If you choose the right time to visit, Takewaka-san in Shinagawa is worth a repeat visit.

I bought anago, nodoguro, and seared salmon. The anago had wasabi in it, which I found unusual. This was my second time eating nodoguro, and it was chewy and delicious. The staff was happy when I mentioned that I had previously visited this store and also purchased from Tokyo Station Gransta.
