野良パンダム
First visit. A donut specialty shop located near Harajuku Station. It is the donut department of the popular bakery "Ama something something" from Fukuoka. Already a popular store, this is the third store in Tokyo following the success of the Naka-Meguro and Shibuya stores. The Harajuku store has a slightly different concept from the other stores, as it has a cafe corner. And in the cafe corner, you can eat freshly fried donuts!! Having enjoyed the taste of freshly fried donuts from the Shibuya store, I had to go when I heard I could eat them freshly fried. I arrived at the store early in the evening on a weekday. There was a line of about 10 people, but it moved quickly and I reached the sales counter without much waiting. So, I decided to try the freshly fried donuts in the cafe!! But to my disappointment, the cafe corner was already closed (crying). Well, I kind of expected it. The closing time wasn't mentioned on the store's Instagram or anything. I asked and found out that the cafe corner usually closes at 6 pm, but some days it closes earlier. However, even though I couldn't use the cafe corner, I could still buy the donuts for takeout, so I bought some to take home. The donuts available for sale were either individually sold for walking and 4 types or a set of 3 for takeout. The individually sold ones were freshly fried donuts, but as a chicken-hearted person, I couldn't walk around Harajuku eating donuts. The set of 3 was like the one at the Shibuya store, packed in a box, but the flavors were fixed to normal, chocolate, and matcha, and you couldn't choose other combinations. Also, the set of 3 were not freshly fried donuts but the regular ones like at the Shibuya store. Well, they were just selling the ones already packed in boxes, so that's why the turnover was good. I understood. The items I purchased were a set of 3 takeout-only freshly fried donuts (810 yen + tax) in the flavors of I'm donut?, chocolate, and matcha. They were all simple with no fillings, but quite delicious. I'm donut? is the basic donut I bought at the Shibuya store. The moist and chewy dough reminiscent of a croissant is addictively delicious. The chocolate flavor has a slight bitterness from the cocoa, giving it an adult taste. The matcha flavor is a green donut with matcha kneaded in and sprinkled with roasted soybean flour. This was the biggest hit this time. Matcha and roasted soybean flour are just so delicious together (laughs). There were some disappointing points like no cream options and not being able to eat them freshly fried, but the taste of the donuts themselves was satisfying. It's a plus that you can buy them even at night, the turnover is fast, and it's close to the station. On the other hand, the freedom for customers is significantly low, so it's best for customers to choose the store based on their lifestyle. But, the highlight must be eating freshly fried donuts in the cafe. I need to try that too at least once. Since I haven't tried the highlight of the freshly fried donuts, I won't give a rating.
