Anyway, I was reminded. I knew it, but was this restaurant really this good? The cleanliness inside the restaurant and the lack of that typical atmosphere of cheap Indian restaurants. It's like a nutritional supplement that you crave when you're tired.

Located just a short walk from "CINTA JAWA CAFE" and "European-style Curry M," along a back alley off Showa Street, is "Indian Restaurant Aarti Izumicho Branch" in Akihabara. This restaurant recently reopened after a long closure due to the pandemic. I heard that they offer a lamb version of their weekend lunch special biryani, which is different from the chicken version at the main branch, so I decided to visit. I ordered their special biryani, which came with fragrant basmati rice mixed with diced lamb. Alongside the biryani, I enjoyed a side of raita (yogurt salad), a mini salad, and finished off with chai tea. I thoroughly enjoyed the "Friday, Saturday, Sunday Lunch Special Biryani" and left the restaurant satisfied.

I had the last Chicken Biryani before they temporarily closed due to kitchen equipment issues. Looking forward to their reopening soon.

Sometimes let's eat out and have a little drink. So, I had dinner and a little drink in Akihabara. I passed on izakayas as they seemed crowded. I had curry while having a drink. It's the second branch of Arti, Izumi-cho store, on the site of the closed "Tokyo Paradise". I planned to have a light drink and eat curry before heading home. That's what I thought when I entered, but... What I ordered was: Masala Papal for 500 yen - basically a papadum with cucumber, onion, and tomato dressed in spices. Almost like a salad. Kachumber Salad for 520 yen - a spicy salad of carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, and daikon. Dahi Poori for 760 yen - two sauces, yogurt and sweet and spicy sauce, with potato cheese balls. Potato Cheese Balls for 640 yen - crispy potato and cheese balls with onions. Paneer Pakora for 700 yen - paneer tempura? Masala Chai for 390 yen - quite a cardamom-infused tea. Draft beer for 490 yen - enjoying it with Indian food is nice. There are plenty of vegetable dishes on the menu, making it healthy. Fried foods are delicious, but one plate is enough. I planned to have curry as a finisher, but I had already eaten too much. I decided to have curry for lunch as a rematch. This review is not very informative, but it was delicious! Thank you for the meal.

Why is the subji at R.T. so delicious? The ingredients are very common, and the spices used are not particularly unique. The cooking process is also quite casual, with the Indian chef adjusting things based on their mood or the day's conditions. Perhaps that's why it's so delicious. By changing the flavor based on the weather, pressure, ingredients, and spice conditions, there is actually very little variation in taste. This level of skill allows for such flexibility. The chef at the Izumi-cho branch has traveled between India and Germany before coming to Japan, and everything they make is delicious, but if you had to choose just one dish, it would be the subji. It might be best paired with chapati.

2020.09.28 (Mon) 12:20 Set C for 1000 yen includes Chicken Keema and today's special (Pumpkin Chicken). I changed the naan to a roti. At first glance, the roti looked small, but it was much denser than naan. It is made with whole wheat flour and low hydration, so it feels heavy in the stomach. The Pumpkin Chicken of the day had pumpkin and chicken in the chicken curry, very generous with ingredients! I wish it had been spicier though.

Lunch at 12:15 on September 25, 2020. Curry with chicken and keema for ¥1000. The keema is really tasty! The chicken has a hint of cardamom. The tandoori chicken is made with leg sticks, but I couldn't resist biting into it with my hands. The seasoning of the meat cooked in the tandoor at this restaurant is seriously my favorite! Apart from us, there were two salarymen eating biryani today, but it seems like this restaurant's existence is still not well-known. I hope it stays a secret like this.

Night investigation after work with no customers. Social distancing in place, let's go! My friend doesn't like lamb or strong smells, so we ordered mainly child-friendly Tandoori dishes. But for some reason, I decided to order some risky items on my own! To make matters worse, we ended up with a chickpea salad-like dish and one with cilantro on top, which were a bit too much. The kebab was unexpectedly tender and lacked meatiness, but the Tandoori chicken was deliciously spicy. My friend's favorite was the Fish Tikka, as always. We finished with Pork Curry and Cheese Naan. Once again, the Tandoori dishes at this restaurant are really good.

Lunch on Fridays is limited to biryani, which costs 1000 yen. I added curry for 200 yen. Today's special was "Chicken and Asparagus." I also ordered an iced chai. Salad and yogurt were included as well. The portion was quite large. The biryani had chunks of chicken leg and breast meat in basmati rice, with whole cardamom, black pepper, and bay leaves. The whole cumin and coriander were fine, but I was surprised by the whole cardamom and nutmeg. I don't need any cilantro. The spices were strong, so this may not be for everyone. The sweetness of the chai saved the day.

After the closure of East Para, there was nothing for a while, but before we knew it, a new restaurant had opened! And it's the second branch of Arti! The lunch set C is priced at 1000 yen and includes naan, rice, two types of curry, salad, tandoori chicken, and a drink. You can switch the naan to roti. The curries are chicken and vegetable, very mild with just the right amount of spices. Don't expect it to be spicy. The chicken and vegetables are plentiful and satisfying. The highlight is the tandoori chicken - a big hit, even a home run! The flavor, cooking, it reminds me of certain places in Akasaka or Kobe. And it's bone-in (of course). The hot chai is lightly sweet by default, and it's really delicious too. I definitely need to revisit this place at night.

I haven't been to the Legal Affairs Bureau for a long time, so I decided to visit the newly opened "Arty" second branch. It's about a 5-minute walk from the Legal Affairs Bureau. It used to be a curry restaurant, but the location is not the best as it is in a back alley. It was before 12 o'clock, but I seemed to be the first customer. There was a sign for Biryani at the storefront, so I asked if I could order it, but they only serve it for lunch on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. I should have come tomorrow instead. I ended up ordering the "Arty Set" (1,220 yen) which includes three types of curry - vegetable, daily mushroom and chicken, and chicken keema. I chose roti instead of naan. I also ordered a lassi as it was hot outside. As I waited, more and more customers started coming in. By the time I left, the restaurant was about 70% full. The food was served in about 10 minutes. The roti was larger than I expected and looked really delicious. The curries were vegetable, mushroom and chicken, and chicken keema. It also came with salad, roti, tandoori chicken, and saffron rice. I decided to start with the tandoori chicken as it was hot. It was really delicious, with no unpleasant smell and the spices were well-infused into the meat. The curries were not as spicy as I expected, with the mushroom and chicken curry being refreshing due to the strong ginger flavor. The vegetable curry was dry and had a nice ginger kick to it, making it the most delicious in my opinion. The chicken keema had a familiar taste, with the thick curry coating the roti nicely. The saffron rice was just average, as I still prefer biryani rice. The lassi at the end was thick and surprisingly delicious. Overall, the food was authentic and tasty, but as someone who has eaten a lot of Indian curry, I didn't find it particularly impressive. However, considering that I haven't had Indian curry in a while, I still enjoyed the meal at Arty.

B set 900 yen Today, I had lunch at this place that opened last month on the site of "Tokyo Paradise." This is the second branch of Aarti in Iwamoto-cho... I think? Since I have never been to either Aarti, I decided to start with this one near the office. We entered at 11:39 am, and we were the first customers. The menu includes (tax included): - A set: 800 yen Curry 1 type (large), Naan or Tandoori Roti or Saffron Rice - B set: 900 yen Curry 2 types (small), Naan or Tandoori Roti and Mini Saffron Rice - C set: 1,000 yen Curry 2 types (small), Naan or Tandoori Roti and Mini Saffron Rice, Tandoori Chicken - Aarti set: 1,220 yen Curry 3 types (small), Naan or Tandoori Roti and Mini Saffron Rice, Tandoori Chicken Curry choices are from 5 types: Chicken, Chicken Keema, Shrimp and Mushroom (coconut milk base), Vegetable, Daily Special (today is winter melon and chicken) Drinks are included (choose one): Lassi, Coffee, Chai, Oolong Tea, Jasmine Tea, Orange Juice, Grapefruit Juice With salad, I ordered Chicken Keema and Daily Special, Naan, and Lassi. It was served in about 6 minutes, with a plate containing 2 curries, salad, and a very large Naan. The Naan was very large and satisfying. I tried a bite of the curry, Chicken Keema was mild, and the winter melon and chicken, although labeled as level 3 spicy, didn't feel too spicy. The Naan was generously buttered, fragrant, and had a hint of sweetness. The chopped ginger topping on the curry was a nice touch. As I continued eating, I was surprised to find rice under the Naan. I didn't pay close attention to the menu, so it caught me off guard. I wanted to enjoy a variety of curries, but the portion was a bit too much. Perhaps it would have been better to order Tandoori Roti instead of Naan. Next time, I would like to try the shop in Iwamoto-cho. It was delicious. Visited for lunch on August 24, 2020. Rating: 3.05

I enjoyed a limited biryani dish on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at the branch of Arti in the Kanda-Izumicho area near Akihabara Station. The main branch is also located in Akihabara. The biryani was delicious, I think it was chicken. I heard that biryani is prepared in large quantities on Fridays due to Islamic traditions. Thank you to the person who explained this to me. This area used to have a curry restaurant that I considered the number one in the neighborhood, called Tokyo Paradise. I wonder if the Indian restaurant, Uttori, has taken down their sign.

・Dinner set for 1,980 yen including tax * Choose 2 types of curry: Keema and Paneer with spinach * Choice of Roti * Comes with mini Saffron rice * Snack: Tandoori Chicken or Samosa (selected Samosa) * Drink: Lassi Located a little over a 5-minute walk from Akihabara Station on the JR Yamanote Line, this is a branch of a popular Indian restaurant near the same station. It's quite impressive, isn't it? Normally, they wouldn't open a branch so close to the original, and personally, you might think, "I'd rather go to the main restaurant." So, I think it takes courage to open a branch like this. I've been to the main restaurant once, and it gives off a rich North Indian cuisine vibe. How about the branch? I visited on a weekday evening. There were 2 groups of customers already there. The restaurant is spacious with a floor shape close to a square, allowing you to see the entire place. It was not crowded. They offer a la carte menus that seem enjoyable for drinking purposes as well as set menus that make for a deluxe meal. I decided to go for the dinner set with 2 types of curry. I chose Keema curry and Paneer with spinach curry. I also chose Roti for bread and opted for Samosa as a snack. The food was ready quickly, so I didn't have to wait long to start eating. Let's dig in. [Dinner set (Keema, Paneer with spinach)] As expected, the curry was rich and creamy. But it was delicious. The spiciness was medium or less, not too strong, allowing the flavors to shine through. Looking at them individually, the spinach curry was impressive with lots of Paneer and a strong spinach flavor. The Keema curry was smooth without the usual minced meat texture. It was quite good too. As for the side dish, the Samosa had a great curry aroma, a rich potato taste, and the right amount of salt. Surprisingly, I was more drawn to the Samosa than the curry. The Lassi was okay. The Roti and rice played their roles well as accompaniments to the curry. I was able to focus on the curry. In conclusion, the branch also serves delicious food, so if you ever feel like having some spicy cuisine, you can come here without worrying about the main branch or branch relationship. Thank you for the meal.

On the Saturday of the four-day holiday in July, I took the opportunity to visit a newly opened restaurant called "Indian Restaurant Aarti" that I had been wanting to try. The location of the restaurant can be confirmed on Tabelog. It is located in Akihabara, on Showa Street towards the direction of Mitsui Memorial Hospital. This new restaurant is actually the second branch of the famous Aarti restaurant in Akihabara. It is located near the original branch, but the reason for having a second branch is to avoid overcrowding of customers at one location. The interior of the restaurant is more spacious than the original branch, and since I arrived right at opening time, I had the place to myself for a relaxing lunch. The menu includes a set where you can choose from 1 to 3 types of curry, as well as a daily changing curry set with 5 options to choose from. However, on this particular Saturday, they were offering a special Biryani lunch set, which I decided to try. I started with a refreshing iced chai drink, followed by the Biryani lunch set which included a generous portion of flavorful Biryani with a large piece of chicken and even chicken wings. The aroma of the Biryani was delightful and the dish was satisfyingly filling. I also ordered an additional vegetable curry, which was slightly spicy and had a good balance of flavors with sweet vegetables like cauliflower. Overall, the Biryani lunch at Aarti was a delicious and satisfying meal, perfect for a weekend treat.

A new branch of my favorite restaurant, Arti, has opened near the Akihabara Showa-dori entrance. This is the second branch of Arti, but technically the third branch since they already have a sister restaurant called Chamya Rakitchen in Nezu (moved from in front of Akatsuchi Elementary School). The menu is similar to Chamya Rakitchen. The name of the new branch is also Arti, and it is located very close to the main branch. I'm not sure of the reason behind this, but I decided to go check it out. The restaurant is located on the ground floor on a side street, making it easily accessible from the outside. Just like the main branch, they offer a variety of street food dishes and a wide selection of bean curries. I tried the Artiki, Reshmi Kebab, Al-Baigan, and Roti. The Artiki and Reshmi Kebab were just as delicious as the ones at the main branch. Indian cuisine at chain restaurants can sometimes vary in taste, but here you can always expect a consistently delicious and reliable experience. The Reshmi Kebab, with chicken wrapped in meringue, was exciting to break open and the texture of the meringue added a fun element to the dish. The Al-Baigan curry with eggplant and potatoes was satisfying despite being meat-free. The eggplant was particularly tasty in the rich gravy, and the soft potatoes added a nice texture contrast. I found that Roti went better with this curry than Naan, as the whole wheat aroma of the Roti enhanced the subtle spice flavors of the curry. Overall, it was a delicious experience as expected. I look forward to seeing how these three restaurants will continue to develop in the future.

After returning from my parents' house, I stumbled upon this restaurant called R.T. (or something similar) near Akihabara Station on my way to the Summit supermarket. It seemed like their second branch, so out of curiosity, I decided to visit. (Thanks to that, I forgot to stop by at Summit and went straight home) Visited on July 2020 at 6:00 PM. It seemed like they had just opened or started their evening service recently. There were no other customers when I arrived. I chose a seat by the window, and the seating capacity seemed similar to the store in Iwamotocho, but the spacing between tables felt a bit more comfortable. Ordered Chicken Biryani and Masala Lassi. The restaurant had only table seating, with configurations of 2x6 and 4x4. Indian music was playing in the background. Unlike the main branch where Biryani is only available on weekends, here it seemed to be available every day. It was served in about 5 minutes, with a vibrant orange color. It came with no curry but with a side of raita and yogurt salad. The texture was moist rather than fluffy, and the spiciness was mild...or rather, not spicy at all. The staff consisted of three energetic local boys who were chatting in a foreign language but were also fluent in Japanese. As I was eating, they came over to ask, "Is the spiciness okay? Do you need water?" Honestly, it wasn't spicy at all, but it was still delicious, though a bit underwhelming. The chicken had four large pieces, which was a lot for me. I managed to finish it all with effort. Thank you for the meal! I'll visit again soon!

Arty, known for their delicious curry and biryani, has opened a new branch tucked away in a back alley. This location used to be a curry restaurant before, but it seems like Arty took over. I found out about the opening at another curry restaurant yesterday, so I decided to visit. What a curry network. It was a slightly rainy and late lunchtime, and I came with my colleagues. We were the only customers, so it felt like a private dining experience. We each ordered a curry set, where you can choose two types. I chose chicken curry and eggplant & mushroom curry. The colorful curries were appetizing. The chicken curry was mildly spicy with a delicious hint of chicken fat. The chicken was in a manageable size and had an elegant taste. The eggplant & mushroom curry was even creamier. The sweet flavor of the sauce complemented the naan, enhancing the overall sweetness. The textures were enjoyable, and the curries were delicious. It was a great meal. Thank you! I heard they also have biryani days at this branch. I definitely want to come back for that.

I used it for lunch. Two types of curry, naan, mango lassi, tandoori chicken, and salad. The spiciness was low, and you couldn't choose the level of spiciness. The mango lassi was served in a small glass. The naan was not great, and refills cost 150 yen. I will not visit again.

Lunch set B with 2 types of curry, naan, salad, and lassi. The naan is large and the taste is average. Not too spicy or flavorful. You can adjust the spiciness with the powder on the table. Overall, it's hard to judge their true skills during lunch.
