HILLSIDE CAFE in Daikanyama
There are many wonderful shops in Daikanyama, but they are often crowded and hard to get into! When you think of Daikanyama, you might think of Tsutaya Bookstore, but it can also be crowded with people... In times like that, you can always find a seat at Hillside Cafe. They have permanent art installations and also hold temporary exhibitions, making it a perfect place for the art season. The interior is spacious with full-length glass windows, providing a great sense of openness. The space is used luxuriously, making it a great place to relax. If you're going for a meal, it's honestly a bit pricey, so I recommend using it as a cafe instead. People who come to the shop, whether friends, couples, or solo visitors, all enjoy their time in their own way. I was able to relax and unwind while basking in the warm sunlight. It's a favorite place where you can enjoy art while at a cafe. The permanent art displayed here seems to be by the Japanese painter Keiji Usami... Especially when you want to take a little break or have some free time in between schedules, this place is recommended. The terrace seats were pet-friendly, so dogs were allowed. Daikanyama seems to have a high ratio of dogs, so many terrace restaurants are dog-friendly. Since it's a cafe, I opted for the scone set this time. It might be nice on a sunny afternoon with little wind.

A café adjacent to a gallery. It makes luxurious use of a spacious area. The rating may be low, but if you're looking for a calm café in Daikanyama, this is the place to go.

I have visited a cafe located at Daikanyama Hillside Terrace several times because I was intrigued by the cafe's white-themed interior. However, on previous occasions, the cafe was closed for event setup or on its regular day off. Finally, I was able to visit when it was open. The cafe has outdoor seating, but it was too windy that day, so I sat inside where the sun was shining through the windows, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere. I ordered a hot coffee for 600 yen, which came with hot milk on the side. The staff warned me about the heat of the milk, which was a nice touch. I enjoyed my coffee while watching people pass by through the glass windows facing the street. It was a relaxing experience, especially with the warm sunlight streaming in. I look forward to visiting again on another sunny day. I had a great time. (^ー^)

The other day, I went to Daikanyama and used this cafe for lunch. I really wanted to go to Hillside Pantry Daikanyama, but it was closed, so I gave up. I entered this cafe in the same Hillside area. The interior is all glass, and the overwhelmingly large space is impressive. Where does the store end? In the middle of the spacious area, there seems to be a reception set... but I wonder if anyone sits here? Now, I ordered the lunch set. Hot Sandwich (Tomato & Mozzarella) The hot sandwich comes with melted mozzarella cheese. The tomato is quite ordinary. The hot sandwich, hot and melty, is decently tasty, but there is nothing particularly noteworthy about it. I don't think I would go to this restaurant on purpose. However, if all the other restaurants in the Daikanyama area are crowded and you can't get in, this place is spacious and quiet, so it's good for taking a break.

While taking a stroll, I felt a bit thirsty and decided to stop by. As soon as I stepped inside, I felt like I was in an art gallery, with luxurious seating arrangements that seemed like they could be used for filming dramas or magazines. The staff were not at all intrusive, allowing me to relax and unwind. They also offer light snacks, but I think this place is more about enjoying the atmosphere rather than dining. In that sense, it may not be the type of restaurant suited for review websites like Tabelog...

Located a 3-minute walk from Daikanyama Station on the Tokyu Toyoko Line, this café is situated in Daikanyama Hillside Terrace along the old Yamate Street. The interior is elegant, with a great sense of furnishings, and a very stylish atmosphere. It's open all day, which is great. The spacious area is filled with an artistic sense, creating a relaxing space. I stopped by during a walk and had a ham and cheese open sandwich with coffee. The sandwich was delicious, and the coffee had a rich flavor and a great aroma. It was a very soothing holiday.

A group of 5 female friends visited a restaurant with the concept of just grabbing a light bite to eat. The restaurant had a luxurious layout with a house studio-like sofa seating area at the back. We felt like we were in a fancy setting, almost like being a celebrity or an artist. As for the lunch, it was as we expected - just average. The menu only offered two pieces of hot sandwiches or paninis per person, served with salad and French fries on a single plate. Each person had to pay around 1700 yen for this limited meal. It felt like we were paying more for the ambiance rather than the food. It might be better to visit for a leisurely afternoon tea instead.

Meeting up at Hillside Terrace is very convenient. It's easy to find since it has a one-way glass where you can see who's sitting inside. The staff is polite and smart. The sandwiches are delicious, especially the sandwich set. A few years ago, I remember they served potato chips that were also tasty. It may not be cheap, but considering the location, it's worth it. It's a great place to take a break when looking at wedding dresses.
