It was late after work and far from the station, so I called at 8:00 PM and was told they wouldn't have an opening until 8:30 PM. When asked about the number of people, I mentioned 2, and the call was abruptly disconnected. Surprisingly, with summer vacation starting, even the family restaurants were crowded and I didn't want to go far from the area, so I decided to kill time at Kanekura, which I hadn't visited in a while, and arrived just before 9:00 PM. There was no reservation sign (although the table next to us for 4 people had one), but we were seated at a table for 2. The restaurant was smaller than I had imagined. We toasted with a Nikka highball. The dishes we ordered were as follows: - Shrimp Senbei: Not as crispy as expected, a bit moist. When dipped in sauce, it quickly became soft. It lacked a shrimp flavor and was whitish in color. - Stir-Fried Shrimp with Red Curry Sauce: The sauce was incredibly delicious! I even poured it over the Khao Man Gai rice and enjoyed it! The shrimp was not large but perfectly cooked, tender and juicy. - Khao Man Gai: The meat was moist and tasty. The sauce was tangy and spicy, with perhaps some fish sauce in it. Personally, I preferred the Red Curry Sauce as it complemented the rice better. The rice had some finely chopped green bits and was soft. I prefer it a bit firmer. - Bangkok Style Yakisoba: A mysterious yellow object turned out to be pickled radish! Surprisingly, it paired well with the dish. The noodles were chewy and well-seasoned. The Stir-Fried Shrimp with Red Curry Sauce and Pad Thai were particularly delicious! I would like to visit again in the evening as I can't go during lunch hours. Thank you for the meal!

First visit during lunchtime and I was happy to see they offer half and half option! I ordered the Gapao and Tom Yum Kung. The Gapao was consistently delicious and the Tom Yum Kung had a strong herb flavor that was tasty! The flavors were rich and I found myself needing more rice. The rice was a bit soft though. After eating, I headed straight to the nearby Terume Yu for a soak.

Ordered the Thai Sukiyaki with rice noodles and a cola, asked for it to be on the sweeter side. The soup was thick and filled with plenty of seafood and vegetables, so delicious! Just the right amount of cilantro, not too overpowering. I prefer spicy food, so I wish it had a bit more heat. Even on a weekday night, the place was almost full. The total cost for the Thai Sukiyaki and cola was around 1800 yen. The flavors are great, no doubt about it. If it was a bit cheaper, I would definitely be a regular customer. They have a wide variety of Pad Ka Prao dishes, so I want to try a different one next time!

I missed lunch and was looking for Thai food in Kabukicho at 4 pm, but couldn't find any places open. I searched and found a place that was open for lunch to dinner. I ordered 1) shrimp paste and shrimp spring rolls (shrimp and prawn? What's that about?), 2) chicken basil fried rice (they also had pork, beef, and seafood options for basil fried rice! They had multiple variations of the same dish with different ingredients, which was nice), 3) Pad Thai. First to come out was the Pad Thai. It was delicious, with chewy noodles and a perfect balance of sweetness and spice. Next was the spring rolls. They were filled with shrimp paste and whole shrimp, wrapped nicely to capture the flavor of the shrimp. Lastly, the basil fried rice, which was consistently delicious. There were so many ingredients that I had to order extra rice. I felt both happy and full. All three dishes were of high quality and I was very satisfied. It's great to be able to enjoy such tasty food even in the late afternoon when I missed lunch. With over 100 menu items, I definitely want to come back. Next time, I must try the Tom Yum Goong.

Som tam and yam wun sen were delicious. The tom yum kung was very sour, almost like drinking vinegar, but still tasty. The portion sizes for each dish were quite large, so it was just right for sharing among three people. While the food was delicious, there was nothing particularly special about it, so I probably wouldn't go back again.

Today, I tried Thai food in Shinjuku for the first time in a while. I usually only go to Bantai in Shinjuku for Thai food, so I decided to try a new place this time. The restaurant is located in a mixed building near Golden Gai, and it has a deep and authentic atmosphere with a nice smell. I started with a beer toast, which was really good given the hot weather today. I ordered Yam Wun Sen, Poo Phong Curry, Gapao Rice, and Pad Thai one after another, and they all had the right amount of authenticity and were delicious. Since we ordered too much, we asked to take the Poo Phong Curry to go, and they kindly agreed. I found a new Thai restaurant in Shinjuku that I want to visit again. Thank you for the meal!

The taste of the dishes was authentic Thai! I think all the dishes had the taste of Thailand. The papaya salad was a bit spicy but really delicious! The Tom Yum Goong was sour and spicy, I drank it all lol. The spare ribs had a rich flavor that paired well with beer. The prices were cheap and it was convenient in Shinjuku. I want to go again.

Shinjuku Kabukicho is one of Tokyo's busiest districts, filled with host clubs and cabaret clubs. In the heart of it all, quietly tucked away, is the popular restaurant called Sam Rott. It has been certified by the Thai Ministry of Commerce as a "Thai Select Classic" restaurant, known for serving authentic Thai cuisine. The name "Sam Rott" means "three flavors" in Thai, representing the essential taste elements of Thai cuisine: sourness, spiciness, and sweetness. Today, I enjoyed a refreshing beer and ordered the Massaman curry. The Massaman curry was ranked as the number one most delicious dish in the world by CNNGo in 2011. It is a mild curry with a hint of sweetness from coconut milk and a crunchy texture from nuts, paired perfectly with jasmine rice. It was truly a soothing and satisfying meal. The total bill came to 2,376 yen (paid with PayPay).

I went to a night drinking party with my mom friends for the first time. As expected, the food was delicious. Even those who were trying Thai food for the first time were pleased with how tasty it was. The drinks were also enjoyable. It's a small restaurant but it was bustling. I would love to go again if I have the chance.

I came alone on Saturday at 2pm. I entered the restaurant right away. I wanted to order the lunch set with green curry and spring rolls, but they didn't have that set, so I ended up ordering Pad Thai. It was delicious, but... I don't know, it felt a bit mushy? The waitress's indifferent attitude and the sudden change in my order made me wonder if that's why it didn't taste as good. Or maybe it just felt watery in terms of flavor. Well, it's cheap. It's around 950 yen. So it's okay. I'll try going there again soon.

I was looking for a Thai restaurant around Shinjuku Station and came across this place. I was able to get in around 6:30 pm on a weekday without a reservation. This time, I ordered:
- Khao Man Gai
- Tom Kha Gai
- Fresh spring rolls
I thought the Tom Kha Gai was a bit strong in flavor, but both the Khao Man Gai and the spring rolls were delicious. *Some places include a soup when you order Khao Man Gai, but it was not included here. I often go to Shinjuku, so I would like to visit this restaurant again!

Tomcep's ox tripe soup was delicious. It contained meat and ox tendons, making it very hearty. The lunch set includes a service drink, rice, and salad, but I personally don't need it. Despite not having beef stew, the lunch was very satisfying.

Visited the restaurant around 2 pm on a Sunday. The place was about 80% full, with some people leaving and maintaining a 60-80% occupancy throughout. I ordered lunch sets I and J (no menu photos available). Set I included green curry, Thai-style omelette, and fresh spring rolls. Set J had Gabaao, red curry, and fresh spring rolls. Both sets came with soup, a drink, salad, and dessert for 960 yen each (excluding tax), with an additional 150 yen (excluding tax) for mini pho and pad thai. The drinks were served in cute small glasses, and there was also a separate glass of cold water. The green curry, red curry, and Gabaao were mildly spicy and easy to eat. The soup had a nice flavor, and the fresh spring rolls were delicious. The rice paper had a good texture, not too moist. The pad thai was on the sweeter side, different from what I expected, but the pho was tasty with good fish paste balls and celery accents. The dessert was tapioca coconut milk, which had a unique taste with a hint of saltiness that was addictive. The lunch sets were filling on their own. While the Vietnamese influence was subtle, the food was delicious and satisfying, mainly leaning towards Thai cuisine.

Last time, I came with a few friends who love Thailand to drink at night, and this time we used it for lunch on our way back from Shinjuku Gyoen. You can enjoy authentic Thai cuisine at a reasonable price. There are plenty of dishes that go well with beer. I think it's a really great restaurant that even people who love authentic Thai cuisine will be satisfied with!

Located on the second floor just to the left after passing through Shinjuku Golden Gai from the Shinjuku Ward Office intersection. Despite the tempting lunch sets available, the only choice here is the Somtam. Not the sweet tomato-colored Somtam Thai, but the brown Somtam Isaan. Make sure to order it with salted crab and salted fish, and ask for the spiciness level to be "normal" as in Northeast Thailand. Fried pork skin comes as a side. The cabbage on the plate should help adjust the spiciness. The water plants served with it can help cool down the burning sensation in your mouth. Water or beer might not help when your mouth is on fire, so why not try the mango dessert (Mamuang)? It consists of warm steamed sticky rice (Kaoniao) with condensed milk drizzled on top, making for a satisfying finish.

I ordered lunch set J which included Red Curry, Sweet Gapao Rice, Spicy Tom Yum Kung Ramen, and extra spicy Yami Garam. The overall taste was on the sweeter side with a hint of sugar, which seemed popular among families and women. They also offer Vietnamese cuisine for those who can't handle spicy food. The restaurant was quite crowded, even though I arrived around 2 pm on a weekday. There were many solo diners, but the turnover rate was good. If you order a lunch set, you can add a mini Tom Yum Kung Ramen (with pho noodles) or a mini pho for an additional 150 yen. I added it and was pleased with the generous portion and delicious taste!

On a sunny weekday Wednesday around 11:50, four of us visited the restaurant. There was no wait. There were two groups of customers before us and it was not crowded. Just like last time, we ordered the lunch set I, which includes green curry and a round omelette. The set came with green curry, rice, soup, fresh spring rolls, tapioca, and a drink. It arrived in just over 5 minutes. The green curry was delicious. The fresh spring rolls were even tastier and easier to eat compared to the last time we visited. We left feeling very full and satisfied. It's a highly recommended set.

Before going to Thermae-Yu, I had lunch here. I saw a few foreign customers as well. They have a good variety of set menus for lunch. I felt like having pho, so I ordered it. It was delicious without any complaints. The omelette was also tasty. For dessert, I tried the mango and sticky rice with condensed milk, which I was unsure about at first. But after trying it, I got hooked! It seems high in calories, but it was really delicious. Thank you for the meal. #lunch #Shinjuku #Thai cuisine #delicious #healthy #pho #food #foodstagram #delicious #delistagrammer #tasty

Affordable and delicious set menu with green curry and fresh spring rolls, rice, and a drink for only 1000 yen. Located in a corner of Kabukicho, the restaurant is on the second floor accessible only by stairs. It was packed with customers. The taste is authentic Thai.

This restaurant in Higashi-Shinjuku is a must-visit. After a health check-up, I walked through the hotel district. The location is a bit hard to find, tucked away in the back of Kabukicho, but the food is delicious. I arrived around 11:30 and there was already one woman dining alone. More solo diners followed, with a total of 5 solo diners in the restaurant. I had a hard time deciding, but this time I chose the "Spicy Seafood Stir-Fry". It was filled with octopus, shrimp, mussels, and scallops. The spiciness was strong, but the octopus was tender and delicious. The soup was packed with ground chicken, celery, and radish. For dessert, I had the standard Tapioca Coconut Milk. I enjoyed my meal today as well. I might come back again in a year. Thank you for the delicious meal!

2023.01 [Revisited] A Thai & Vietnamese restaurant in Shinjuku Kabukicho! Visited on January 2nd. The dishes are mainly around 1,000 yen. The classic fresh spring rolls are filled with plenty of carrots and cucumbers, like a salad! The rice paper is soft and just right. The meat & spicy cashew nut stir-fry has a generous portion. It's a bit salty, so rice is needed. The highlight was the green curry. The balance of sweetness, spiciness, and umami is great. Plenty of large prawns and the texture of bamboo shoots is good. Despite the slightly chewy Thai rice, this green curry might be the best I've ever had. The desserts are also large and good. There are many coconut-flavored desserts, but the papaya is sweet and sour, delicious... I was very satisfied!
