I was recommended by an acquaintance and it was really delicious. The sushi was made quickly and served promptly, with a variety of tasty appetizers available. They also offer courses and have private rooms for group use. There are plenty of seats at the counter and it seems easy to make reservations. I will definitely go back!

Ordered tuna (akami), red shrimp, live octopus (salted), sea bream, flounder, horse mackerel, scallop, uni in the shell, chawanmushi, and seaweed soup. Among them, the horse mackerel was exceptionally delicious. Following that, the tuna, uni, and chawanmushi (three-way tie) were also great. I always trust sushi restaurants that serve delicious chawanmushi. The prices were reasonable (or rather, cheap) and I was very satisfied. I will definitely visit again ^^

This was my first visit. A friend who had been here before recommended this place and said sitting at the counter is better (in terms of atmosphere). When I arrived this time, the counter was already full, so I had to sit at a table. The chef seemed nice. Unfortunately, they mentioned that they couldn't serve fried dishes like tempura that day, which was a bit disappointing. I was hoping to try the tempura from this sushi restaurant. However, I enjoyed fresh and delicious sushi and sashimi. I would like to visit again in the future.

Today, I had a rare day off and decided to relax in Ueno by enjoying some sushi and drinks at Yoshizushi Ueno. Despite the large size of the restaurant, it was already full shortly after opening - quite impressive! I sat at the counter and about every third group had the sushi chefs taking orders and preparing the sushi right in front of them. The prices were reasonable, but the quality of the fish was fresh and delicious. Prices ranged from ¥130 for one piece. Personally, I enjoyed the green onion sushi for ¥230, the shrimp sushi for ¥230, and the salmon sushi for ¥230. The grilled shrimp head was also a nice touch.

We visited a lively restaurant with our mother who came to Tokyo for a grave visit, wanting to treat her to some delicious food. It was crowded with inbound foreigners and tourists, so we were glad we had made a reservation. We ordered sea grapes for 600 yen, assorted tempura for 1,300 yen, sashimi platter (3 servings) at 3,000 yen each, and premium sushi for 2,500 yen. The sashimi was delicious, with plenty of fresh sardines. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Chirashi sushi (lunch service)The lively and efficient chef working behind the counter is truly a pleasure to watch. His craftsmanship is admirable, and he swiftly prepares the chirashi sushi after taking the order. Although it may seem simple to just cut and place the ingredients, do not underestimate the attention to detail in his work. The toppings include clam, salmon, yellowtail, tuna, spear squid, omelette, dried gourd, sakura denbu, pickled ginger, cucumber, salmon roe, and marinated mackerel, all of which are delivered fresh from Tsukiji Market and are vibrant in color. The thick, firm texture of the toppings is satisfying. For lunch, a bonus dessert of edamame mousse is included, making it a great value. It's a shame that sake cannot be enjoyed on weekdays. Ueno Station's main entrance, just a 5-minute walk away, you'll find Nami Sushi located near the intersection of Ueno Youth Road and Sakura Street behind Marui. Their menu includes Nami Sushi (with red miso soup) for ¥1450, Jo Sushi (with red miso soup) for ¥1900, Tokujyo Sushi (with red miso soup) for ¥2500, Chotokujyo Sushi (with red miso soup) for ¥3300, Special Set (Jo Sushi, chawanmushi, dessert, with red miso soup) for ¥2400, and Premium Set (tempura, soup, chawanmushi, sushi, dessert) for ¥3200. Next time, I'd like to come for dinner and enjoy nigiri, rolls, sashimi, and sake. They offer a variety of courses for parties, so it might be nice to have a company dinner here as well... You can enjoy delicious fish in a relaxed atmosphere. I wandered around Ueno feeling a bit tipsy, but everywhere was crowded and I thought I wouldn't be able to have a calm conversation. However, I found Yoshizushi. The restaurant was busy, but I managed to get a seat in the spacious interior. I ordered fresh fish and sake, and had a casual conversation with the chef at the counter. It was very comfortable and I got energized by the hardworking chef. Thank you for the meal.

I used the 6300 yen course for a Buddhist memorial service. We were in a private room on the third floor. There may have been an elevator in the back, but we were taken up the stairs. The fatty tuna sashimi looked delicious with the fat on it, but there were a lot of sinews and it was tough to chew (lol). The staff's service was satisfactory, but the food was generally average.

Yoshi Sushi Ueno, a hangover meal. Wandering around Ueno feeling a bit dizzy. I was thinking of going bar hopping and having some drinks, but first I decided to have lunch somewhere. I stumbled upon a sushi restaurant called "Yoshi Sushi Ueno" and thought, "Hmm, maybe it's a good idea to just have some regular sushi for a change." So, I went in. Inside the restaurant, there was a large counter and spacious tatami seating in the back. Menu Highlights: - Regular Sushi 1450 yen - Premium Sushi 1900 yen - Special Sushi 2500 yen - Extra Special Sushi 3300 yen - Special 2400 yen - Premium 3200 yen I decided to order various items a la carte. Among them was the Red Shrimp, which I started with. Of course, I also ordered a beer. - Red Shrimp Heads - A la carte Sushi Assortment (5000 yen) I ordered for two people: Hokki Shellfish (280 yen), Salmon Roe (380 yen), Sea Urchin (480 yen), Mackerel (170 yen), Shrimp Tail (230 yen), Gizzard Shad (170 yen), Tuna (280 yen), Sea Bream (230 yen), Red Shrimp (230 yen). The Hokki Shellfish was delicious! The sushi itself was quite traditional and served as a great accompaniment to the drinks. The Sea Urchin had no fishy smell, and it was mentioned that they use quality ingredients sourced directly from Tsukiji Market. The shrimp and tuna were also tasty, and I was quite satisfied! In conclusion, I randomly walked into this sushi restaurant, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. I initially thought of having lunch before drinking, but the sushi was so delicious that I ended up having quite a few drinks. There were also many foreigners in the restaurant, so it might be a recommended spot! It was a delightful experience.

Near the Oriental Hotel. I wonder if there is a second floor? The interior of the restaurant was spacious. The chef himself sources ingredients from Tsukiji Market. Now that I think about it, all the sushi tasted fresh. A sushi restaurant that is easy to visit alone. I would like to try the upper floor next time.

The newly opened restaurant was clean and had a nice layout with an L-shaped counter and tables at the back. They offer a variety of fried and grilled dishes, as well as seasonal items. I tried their popular tofu dish, which had a rich and creamy texture similar to sesame tofu. It was served with a delicious dipping sauce. I also had some fresh squid prepared as a snack and in sushi form. The sushi was seared and served with lemon and salt, while the chawanmushi (savory steamed egg custard) was firm and tasty like an old-fashioned pudding. The ikura (salmon roe) and negitoro (fatty tuna with green onions) roll was also delicious, with tasty seaweed. The staff were friendly and made the dining experience enjoyable. I was planning to go to Oita for the first cultural heritage tour of the year, but unfortunately it was canceled due to yesterday's snow causing flight cancellations. Instead, I decided to go to Ueno, which is easily accessible from the airport, have some sushi for a light meal, and enjoy some daytime drinking. I found a lunch spot that seemed to offer good value for money at 1,600 yen, with uni and ikura included. I ordered the S lunch set, but the rice was mushy and over-packed, the nori was limp, the tuna was watery, the yellowtail was thin and lacked red fatty parts. The chawanmushi had scales in it, and the red miso soup only had three 5mm cubes of tofu as toppings. It was disappointing and didn't feel like a good deal at all. I had planned to enjoy some daytime drinking in Ueno, but feeling full and disheartened, I ended up going straight home. The S lunch set cost 1,600 yen including tax. It was a disappointing day overall.

Today's dinner is at "Yoshi Sushi" in Okachimachi. I had 17 dumplings and one dish of motsu stew, which filled me up, but I still felt like something was missing. So, I decided to finish off with sushi as planned. The price for a custom sushi piece starts at 130 yen including tax. Even in this day and age where rotating sushi can't be provided for 100 yen, being able to order sushi starting at 130 yen at the counter is impressive. The original Yoshi Sushi offers regular sushi for 1,450 yen, premium sushi for 1,900 yen, deluxe sushi for 2,500 yen, and super deluxe sushi for 3,300 yen. Today, with dumplings and motsu stew in my stomach, I couldn't make a clear decision, so I chose hot sake and premium sushi. It only took 5 minutes for the sushi to arrive. The efficiency is impressive. The premium sushi includes 9 pieces of tuna, medium fatty tuna, flounder, squid, horse mackerel, salmon roe, shrimp, sea urchin, and egg, along with cucumber rolls and spicy tuna rolls, 3 pieces each. It's just enough. The freshness of the fish is high, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is pleasant. If you want to sit at the counter in silence facing the sushi, you can do that. If you want to chat with the sushi chef, feel free to do so. It's very comfortable here. "Sushi Koi" in front of Okachimachi Station was taken over by Chinese owners and the chefs were replaced after 30 years, making it a bit of a mediocre place now. So, if you want to have affordable sushi around Ueno, this is the place to go.

Ginkgo tempura, shirako tempura, flounder sashimi, octopus sashimi, smoked herring roe, favorite sushi, seared fatty tuna, sea urchin, conger eel. Forgot to take photos of dishes other than sushi. No wait when I arrived after 8 pm on a weekday. The atmosphere was lively, with regulars enjoying drinks alone. The sushi rice was quite large. Perfect for a quick bite and drink.

Today's dinner was at "Yoshi Sushi Ueno" in Ueno. After a round of golf in Tsumagoi, I had a drinking party in the Tokyo area. My phone rang with a call during the round, inviting me to drinks. It was Friday today, so of course everyone wants to drink. I couldn't refuse the invitation out of courtesy. It takes about 1 hour from Karuizawa to Ueno. I arrived in Ueno around 7:00 PM, strolling through the Ueno-Okachimachi street to choose a restaurant. All the places with tables and chairs set up outside were full. It was Friday after all. I found a sushi restaurant in the middle of the street and entered without hesitation. I was seated at the counter. I only took 2 photos as it wasn't a situation where I could take many. I had various sashimi and 5-6 pieces of sushi. I had one glass of draft beer and 3 cups of cold sake, totaling around 8,000 yen per person. Surprisingly, it was quite reasonable.

I visited "Yoshi Sushi" at Ueno Station on a holiday night. It was our second stop, so we didn't eat too much, but we still felt like having some sushi and a drink. The restaurant has counter seats on the right side and tatami seats on the left side. There were three sushi chefs behind the counter, each serving their assigned customers. We shared the Special Sushi for 2200 yen per person, and decided to order some other sushi toppings as well. The Special Sushi included medium fatty tuna, lean tuna, sea urchin, salmon roe, herring roe, red shrimp, whelk, white fish (maybe sea bream), rolled tuna, and cucumber rolls. The tuna was even better than expected, with a rich flavor that was very satisfying. We also ordered marinated mackerel, which was tender and had just the right amount of fat. The menu also had a good selection of appetizers, so next time we might try some while finishing with sushi. I felt like eating sushi so I went to Ueno. The prices are surprisingly reasonable for the quality. The assorted tempura for 1200 yen was a great deal. The shrimp and tuna sushi were delicious. I personally prefer the tamago (egg) sushi from Taro Sushi that I had before. The tempura was also tasty. Thank you for the meal. After leaving the restaurant, I noticed that the food samples on display were almost identical to what I had just eaten. The arrangement of the sushi toppings was also very similar. It's rare to see such accurate food samples compared to the real thing.

I went to a sushi restaurant behind Marui in Ueno after a long time. This time with my partner. I love sushi and tempura equally, so we ordered a sashimi platter, tempura, and homemade tofu. In addition to fatty tuna, they served me yellowtail, squid, bonito for the first time, scallop, whelk, and more. Everything was delicious. The tempura included 2 shrimp, sandfish, squid, pumpkin, and shiitake mushrooms. The crispy texture of freshly fried tempura was irresistible. I was taken to this restaurant by a senior colleague from work. We had a light drink in Akihabara and then walked towards Ueno, stopping at this place along the way. While the surrounding restaurants were crowded with salarymen and young people, this place had a calm atmosphere. We started with boiled edamame, scallop grilled with butter, and seasonal tempura of trout with wood sorrel. The scallop grilled with butter was a hit, with the butter enhancing the flavor. The green onions served with the scallop absorbed the butter and scallop broth, making it incredibly delicious. The scallop itself was soaked in flavor. We also ordered rolled sushi as a snack, which had the perfect size for easy eating. I tried mountain burdock rolled sushi for the first time and loved its firm texture and subtle acidity. For the finale, we had miso soup and nigiri sushi. The thickly sliced mackerel sushi was delicious. It's a casual place where you can relax and enjoy good food without any fuss.
