On a Sunday morning, I decided to go fishing at Ariake for the last time this year since my wife was going out and the weather was nice. I left the house around 10:30 and arrived at Tokyo Teleport Station around 11:30. I was planning to have an early lunch, but there were no restaurants around. I realized it was a business district. I checked Google Maps and found an OK Store nearby! Surrounded by what looked like luxury condominiums, the OK Store on the first floor seemed like a budget supermarket. I was surprised by how small it was, but they had a decent selection of groceries. I was worried about finding bento boxes, but they had a small section. The store also had original rice balls like kombu and negi miso for 50 yen, Yamazaki Lunch Pack with hamburger and potato salad for 108 yen, and tea for 49 yen. It was good. and cheap! The taste was average. I wanted to try their original bento boxes, but I decided to get rice balls and bread to avoid leaving trash at the fishing spot. On my way to Ariake Kita Ryokudo Park, where I planned to fish, I saw the parking lot of the condominium where the OK Store was located, and there were two Mercedes-Benz cars that looked like they cost around 20 million yen each. It was definitely a luxury condo area. It was strange to see a budget store like OK Store in a place where the rent must be sky-high. I thought about visiting the store again next time I go fishing, but since I didn't catch any fish this time, I might reconsider. Tears.

For lunch, I bought a pork cutlet rice bowl and oyster fry. The pork cutlet rice bowl was labeled as using Canadian pork and cost 299 yen before tax. The container may be slightly small. The pork cutlet was topped with egg and sauce, but the egg was not quite runny. The taste of the sauce was indescribable. The meat was thicker than expected, and overall better than the usual standing soba shop style. The oyster fry had a label saying "spring catch." Even though it's April, which is usually off-season, it's nice for oyster lovers that they are still being sold. The oysters were not too small, and the batter was not overwhelming. I accidentally ate it without reheating, but it might have been better warm. I wonder how long the oyster fry will be available...

I started working in Odaiba from this April. I was worried about the high prices for lunch options available for residents and workers in the area. However, a colleague told me about a place called "Okay" where I could find affordable lunch options. I went there and got the "Grilled Mackerel Bento" for 299 yen. The amount of rice was just right, not too much. The grilled mackerel had a light saltiness and was a decent size for the price. The bento also came with a small portion of simmered vegetables, a piece of rolled omelette, and boiled leafy greens. I never thought I would have the opportunity to eat lunch from Okay, as I had never bought a bento from there before. It's a shame they didn't have a bakery with pizza or deli sandwiches.

I will go to a supermarket that opened in Odaiba to buy lunch. It is located on the first floor of a luxury apartment building, and I believe it is the third generation, but I feel that the selection is more abundant compared to the previous generation. There are not many types of bento boxes, but there is a worryingly large quantity. I put a Canadian three-layer pork loin cutlet set for 299 yen excluding tax and a large mineral water for about 70 yen in my basket, and headed to the register. I declined the 6 yen bag, but I was given chopsticks. The portion is small, but except for the fat on the edge that didn't suit my taste, it feels worth the price.

I love Häagen-Dazs ice cream! I usually buy the mini 6-pack of classic flavors like Vanilla, Strawberry, and Cookies and Cream. This time, I was intrigued by the seasonal limited edition called "Sweet Holiday" so I decided to try it. It includes "Strawberry Milk Pudding," "Caramel Latte," and "Cookies and Chocolate." First, I tried the "Caramel Latte" which had a mild sweetness and a rich caramel flavor in the middle. I bought it for 616 yen, which is a little over 100 yen per piece. Häagen-Dazs at this price is the best.

Three years after its opening, the established supermarket has introduced a new addition to its popular pizza menu, which caught my attention and I ended up purchasing unexpectedly. It's called "Handmade Authentic Gapao Pizza." With a nice warning about its spiciness, I paid 598 yen excluding tax with a cashless payment. After heating it up, I had it for lunch and found it to be a chewy pizza. It's hard to tell if it's really Gapao, but the minced meat and Thai-style flavors give it an ethnic taste. It's spicy and has an adult-like flavor. I also bought some cilantro to go with it, but it didn't make it any spicier.
