I went to the restaurant that won the Flaming Spicy Chinese Grand Prix and I was excited to try their spicy dishes. I decided to try their recommended "Heavenly Stone Pot Mapo Tofu". While waiting for the dish to be ready, I enjoyed a Highball. I also ordered the original Heavenly Stone Pot Mapo Daoxue Noodles, which came with hand-cut noodles. I chose the spiciness level to be 10 times the normal level. The dish arrived in a hot stone pot, with a whole tofu cooked in parent chicken soup for 2 hours. It was spicy but also flavorful with a hint of Sichuan pepper. The owner, Chen, personally sources spices from China every 2 months. The noodles were chewy and delicious, complementing the spiciness of the Mapo Tofu. I also had a refreshing Oolong Highball to cool down my palate. The menu has many other tempting spicy dishes, so I would love to come back with friends to try more.

This restaurant is famous for its mapo tofu, and it has fascinated many famous people over the years! As a pioneer of Sichuan cuisine, it was the first in Japan to introduce knife-cut noodles and drooling chicken, and it is the birthplace of stone-grilled mapo tofu! Moreover, it has won many awards at festivals! There are so many menu items that I am really interested in just by looking at them!! [Chen Family Specialty] Top Sky Stone Grilled Mapo Tofu First of all, of course, starting with the famous stone-grilled mapo tofu!! This place is also famous for its extreme spiciness, with levels ranging up to "Heavenly Spicy"! Personally, I think the most delicious one is the medium spiciness! It's really delicious! And even dipping knife-cut noodles in it is absolutely irresistible!! Authentic Sichuan Emperor Drooling Chicken This is also amazing! It's also served for lunch, but it goes really well with rice and is perfect for drinking at night as well. Authentic Sichuan Shrimp Chili In Japan, shrimp chili is usually made with ketchup sauce, but here they don't use ketchup, and instead, the raw Sichuan pepper adds a strong flavor that is absolutely irresistible. Specialty Handmade Iron Pot Sesame Stick Dumplings (5 pieces) This was my first time trying this, and it was delicious! The combination of sesame, dumpling skin, and plenty of stuffed meat was amazing. Beef Belly Glass Noodles Stew Glass noodles are delicious, right! And for some reason, they go well with rice! The spiciness and umami were outstanding! Crispy Bean Sprouts Stir-Fry This restaurant actually popularized bean sprout stir-fry in Japan! Isn't that amazing?? It should definitely be recognized as the originator! Chen-style Sichuan Soup-less Dan Dan Noodles The soup-less tantan noodles were really delicious! The knife-cut noodles are the best, aren't they! They are cut and served on the spot, so they are chewy. White Fish (Cod) Spicy Boiled Dish You should try this! It's surprisingly big and impressive! And it's not just big! It's delicious! Authentic Sichuan Spicy Water Dumplings The chewy skin is amazing, and the perfect balance of spiciness and deliciousness really stimulates the appetite. By the way, it will appear in the first episode of "Gekikara Michi 2" starting at 24:30 on TV Tokyo on April 6, 2023, so please check it out!! A Chinese restaurant where you can enjoy authentic Sichuan cuisine! The famous dish is mapo tofu! I thought it would be really spicy because it's Sichuan cuisine, so I played it safe and ordered the sweet and sour pork lunch set! (You serve yourself rice, salad, water dumplings, soup, and almond jelly) My partner chose the mapo tofu so I was able to have a taste~ The mapo tofu with fragrant spices was indeed spicy~ (medium level of spiciness) The sweet and sour pork was not what I had imagined... I wonder if they don't use sweet bean sauce in the authentic version? It tasted more like a stir-fried vegetable dish.

While shopping in Shibuya, I stopped by for lunch with a friend. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that when you order a main dish, it comes with salad, water dumplings, soup, and almond jelly! No matter what you order, you can't go wrong. This time, I tried the seasonal cold tantan noodles. It had a good amount of spiciness and was delicious.

Located in a building near Shibuya Parco on the B1 floor. I was drawn in by the lunch menu for 900 yen on the front sign and decided to visit for the first time. It specializes in Sichuan cuisine, so I ordered the fried rice thinking it wouldn't be too spicy, but I was wrong. The spices were so strong that my mouth was left tingling even afterwards, which might be a bit tough for older customers. Looking around the restaurant, I noticed that the clientele consisted mostly of customers in their 10s to 30s. This place is recommended only for those who enjoy spicy food.

This is a revisit!!! Even though I'm not good with spicy food, I ended up coming here. I ordered shrimp chili, stick dumplings, stir-fried chicken, fried rice, and mapo tofu noodles! Everything was delicious!!! It's spicy but has a great umami flavor!! The hand-pulled noodles are also delicious and I love them! In the end, my mouth was in trouble because of the spiciness, so I only ate the noodles.

I visited a Chinese restaurant for lunch that I had been curious about for a while. It was my first time there, so I ordered the most popular dish, Mapo Tofu, with medium spice. It also came with gyoza, salad, almond jelly, and soup as self-service. First, the Mapo Tofu. Ordering this was definitely the right choice! It truly lived up to being the signature dish. I'm not a big fan of spicy food, but this level of spiciness with the strong flavor of spices was addictive! The soup was like a sweet corn soup, the handmade dumplings were chewy, and the almond jelly was personally very delicious, providing just the right amount of sweetness to balance out the spiciness of the Mapo Tofu. The lunch was very cost-effective, so I will definitely come back here when I crave something spicy.

I visited the restaurant on a regular Thursday afternoon around 1 pm. There was a short wait, but I was seated promptly as it was after the lunch rush. The menu was mostly priced at 900 yen including tax, and you could get a set meal. Apart from the main dish, everything else was self-service and you could help yourself to salad, water dumplings (up to 3), Chinese soup, almond jelly, and as much rice as you wanted. The almond jelly was particularly delicious, with a nice chewy texture, and piling on more was definitely the way to go. I ordered the seafood stir-fry, and it was so tasty - I wonder why Chinese stir-fries are always so good. I was very satisfied with the generous portions of shiitake mushrooms, baby corn, large squid, and about 4 shrimp in the dish. I also tried the restaurant's famous mapo tofu as an additional side dish for 300 yen, and it was just right in spiciness with a refreshing touch of Sichuan pepper. It really went well with the rice! My friend had the most popular dish, the stone pot mapo tofu, and it was piping hot the whole time, making them break out in a sweat. Overall, to have such a luxurious Chinese set meal in Shibuya (including the mapo tofu side dish) for 1200 yen was a great deal. I was very satisfied and will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal!

I had fried rice for the first time at a Chinese restaurant. I noticed that many people were ordering it, so I finally decided to try it. I ordered shrimp fried rice. When it arrived, I was a bit worried because of the large portion. I thought I might not be able to finish it (I'm the type who struggles to leave food uneaten). In addition to the fried rice, I also ordered my usual salad, water dumplings, soup, and almond jelly. The taste was good. It was a bit oily, but the spicy flavor was nice. I managed to eat about half of it, and the rest was packed for takeout, which was enough for another meal. It felt like there was about 1 kilogram of rice in the dish. In the end, I finished it all. It was delicious! However, even after finishing it, I didn't feel hungry at all when it was time to finish work. Amazing! (laughs)

I had the Spicy Mapo Tofu Knife-Cut Noodles for lunch. I sat down and used my smartphone to scan a QR code to order from the menu. Of course, you can also order verbally. The side dishes are buffet style, so you can adjust the amount yourself. During lunchtime, there were many businessmen who piled their plates high with unlimited items. The spiciness is strong and satisfying, with a rich flavor that keeps you interested until the end without getting cold. After enjoying the heat, the dessert of almond jelly is a nice way to relax.

I went for the first time with my friend and had tantanmen noodles. It came with gyoza, salad, and almond jelly, so it was very filling. The cost performance is great. This time I chose medium spicy tantanmen, but I thought it could be a bit spicier, so next time I might try one level up!

I ordered Szechuan fried rice for lunch, but it was too spicy to enjoy. I heard the mapo tofu was very spicy, so I opted for the fried rice, but that was also quite spicy. I wonder if everything here is spicy? It's not just spicy, it's also numbing. Despite that, I managed to finish it all, and the taste was delicious.

The monthly regular event organized by Chen Jia Private Kitchen is becoming a tradition. You can enjoy dishes that are not normally on the menu, along with all-you-can-drink for 6000 yen including tax! This time, I tried shrimp chili and boiled dumplings for the first time. As always, everything was delicious!

I was invited to a special event by a friend this time. We enjoyed Sichuan cuisine made with ingredients personally sourced by the owner chef, along with specially imported Shaoxing wine. The chef explained each dish as we savored them, all the way to the dessert at the end. It was incredibly delicious. Eating Sichuan cuisine while sweating in the middle of summer in Japan made the gathering even more enjoyable.

A restaurant I found while reminiscing about a visit 5 years ago. Overall, it offers delicious Chinese cuisine with good value for money. The lunch experience has a cafeteria vibe, but it can also be used for a date. I opted for the lunch menu and debated between the super spicy mapo tofu and the spicy beef stir-fry that seemed to go well with a highball. I chose the latter and also ordered a mini portion of mapo tofu as a side dish. It was nice to be able to try a small amount of their specialty dish as a side. The lunch set included a salad, water dumplings, rice, and almond jelly for self-service. While I was serving these, the main dish was brought to me by the staff. The combination of self-service and table service allows for enjoying high-quality Chinese food at a good price. I was very satisfied with the taste - the seasoning went well with rice and highball, and the spiciness of the dish was just right. If it's not spicy enough, you can adjust it by using the chili oil on the table.

I visited during lunchtime. The interior of the restaurant was very spacious and lively, almost full. I had seafood. Other than the main dish, it was self-service where you could help yourself. It was delicious! Next time, I will go to eat knife-cut noodles. Thank you very much!

This fried rice here was the most delicious I've ever had. I devoured it so quickly that it disappeared in seconds. The service was very smooth, maybe because it was a weekday. They operate on a one drink per person system and you order via QR code. I will definitely come back here to eat the fried rice again.

This time it was our monthly regular meeting! As always, each dish was delicious. However, the mildest looking dish, the Jomabo tofu, turned out to be the most aggressive, what's up with that? And to finish off, we had the "Choden" Jomabo tofu in a hot stone pot, served with knife-cut noodles instead of rice. That was tasty too. As always, it was a feast and I'm stuffed! Thank you for the meal!

I liked the style of serving yourself rice, salad, almond jelly, and water dumplings. You can adjust the amount, which is nice. However, it was crowded during lunchtime. I chose shrimp chili and mini mapo tofu. The portions were so big that they didn't fit on the table, but I managed to finish everything and was full. It was delicious.

The price has increased by 900 yen, but it is still cheaper than the Chinese restaurant across the street. The almond jelly is more delicious than the boiled dumplings. You can choose the spiciness level of the drooling chicken. If it's very spicy, I might be able to eat it, but maybe not. They have switched to smartphone ordering, but the poor signal quality has not improved at all, and there is no Wi-Fi. I couldn't pay with PayPay. I hope they take measures because it's a basement store.

We went to "Chinka Shisai" in Shibuya, which was chosen by a new member for our meal. The restaurant is spacious and easy to make reservations. We didn't order a course this time, just reserved seats. We enjoyed dishes like shrimp chili, black vinegar pork, and dumplings while having drinks. The "stone-cooked mapo tofu" recommended on Tabelog was a highlight. By the time the noodles arrived, we were quite full. We paid the bill and realized that a course meal would have been a better deal. Next time, we'll make a reservation for four or more people and try the course menu.
