After work, slightly buzzed, I usually only eat Hakata ramen, so I decided to try a house ramen for a change. I ordered a large serving with rich flavor and extra rice. The rich flavor here was a bit too strong! It was more salty than rich. Personally, I think a normal flavor would have been just right. It paired well with the rice!

Tonight, after about 48 hours, I had solid food for the first time. I went to the ramen restaurant "Budoka Kunigamae Kokubunji" aiming for a full stomach. I ordered the "Kujou Negi Ramen medium size, extra flavor, extra noodles (1050 yen)" with "extra seaweed double portion (150 yen)" and "self-serve rice special portion (free)". I love seaweed and Kujou Negi. Yes. I thought about adding rice, but decided to focus on the ramen as the main dish this time. What I love about Budoka is definitely the "super rich soup". I love it so much that I could even eat rice just with this soup as a side. Of course, the noodles are delicious and the "slightly charred chashu" is amazing. I diligently devoured the ramen and rice alternately, and finished by pouring the remaining super rich soup over the rice in the "ojya" style, completing the meal in less than 10 minutes. Thanks to the self-serve rice, I was able to get a full stomach. At the age of 43, I am still a fan of rich flavors. I will come back again. Thank you for the meal.

Located just a few minutes from Kokubunji Station North Exit in Kokubunji City, Tokyo, this ramen restaurant branched off from the original Budokya Waseda Main Store. I visited this place on a Saturday around 10:30 AM and there were already a few customers inside. The fact that they open early in the morning is great! I ordered the Ramen for 800 yen, Cabbage for 100 yen, and got complimentary Rice. I requested the noodles to be firm, with regular flavor and oil. The rice was a free refill, so I helped myself to more. The pork bone aroma was moderate, not as strong as the one in the Nakano store. The thick noodles had a nice texture that blended well with the soup, making it easy to eat. The Cabbage dish was a mix of raw cabbage and char siu with a special soy sauce dressing. The char siu was tender and flavorful, adding to the overall experience. The rich soup was satisfying, and I ended up eating more rice than I expected. If you're looking for a filling meal, I recommend this place. The default flavor was on the strong side, so you might want to ask for a lighter taste if preferred. Overall, I enjoyed my meal thoroughly.

Kokubunji / Ramen Budoka Mouth (Kunigamae) [Meal 36 hours after Yaen]. After filling up on dokuro at Yaen, there was a 36-hour gap until the next meal. It's quite unhealthy to only eat two meals in two days. I originally wanted to go to Mikata, but my schedule was off and I couldn't make it. I thought about eating something else, but I felt too lazy and ended up not eating anything and just went back to the office. After finishing work, it was Friday night so I played some sweet digital pachinko to relieve stress, won a little, and then went looking for a ramen shop near my hometown. Actually, I briefly saw Tanaseya after being rejected by Mikata earlier that day, but it seemed crowded, so I didn't go. I really wanted to eat a house-style ramen, so I passed on Juhachiban and Butayama and headed to the reliable Budoka. I chose the spicy ramen, Red, with rice and cabbage. Isn't cabbage so cheap at any shop? With so much pork and even cabbage to eat, it's perfect for protein and dietary fiber intake! Honestly, at this point, I had already had a Strong 1500mm/9% and didn't have a clear memory of the taste, but I slurped down the rice and ramen, which made a great side dish. The cost performance is also great! Even if you order everything, it's only 950 yen!! Finally, the cabbage in the cabbage was quite tough, so I apologized and left that part behind. Red and rice feat. kappa, doubanjiang, garlic are the best. The service is still polite and energetic, and the satisfaction level when leaving the shop is high. I will definitely be a repeat customer at this kind of shop. Today, I visited Kunigamae in Kokubunji. It's been a few years since I last came here. The loud and energetic greetings from the staff that I remember from my previous visit with a colleague, like "Welcome!" "Thank you!" "Here you go" "Yes!", seem to have toned down a bit, now they just say "Thank you very much" in a slightly louder voice. I chose the Red ticket for my order. It seemed a bit spicy today. Since it's a home-style ramen, I ordered everything normal today. With its rich and flavorful pork bone broth, I have high expectations. The noodles that came out were a bit soggy. Should I have asked for them firm? The spiciness was just right. The most important part, the taste, was a rich and nostalgic pork bone flavor. Yes, I still love this taste from the past. I was always curious about this restaurant because it is always crowded at night despite not having a conspicuous storefront, and I finally decided to visit. I ordered the most popular dish, the "Noritama Ramen" for 850 yen (tax included). You purchase a food ticket and hand it to the staff, where you can communicate your preferences for the firmness of the noodles (hard, normal, soft), the richness of the flavor (strong, normal, light), and the amount of oil (more, normal, less). Since it was my first time, I chose everything as normal. The soup had a mellow tonkotsu shoyu flavor typical of a home-style ramen. However, the taste was quite strong! Even though I chose normal flavor, it was surprisingly intense. I wonder what it would be like if I had chosen strong flavor... It may not be the healthiest option, but I thought, "Delicious! I really like this flavor!" It's the kind of taste that makes you crave it as a finishing touch after a night of drinking. The soup was not watery but had a thick consistency. The thick noodles in the soup clung together nicely, allowing you to enjoy both the noodles and the soup together. It was really tasty. The toppings included spinach, chashu pork, roasted seaweed, and seasoned egg. The spinach paired well with the strong soup, providing a nice texture without interfering with the soup. Additionally, when eaten with the roasted seaweed, it added a different flavor. When the softened seaweed and noodles were mixed together and eaten, it was also delicious. For 850 yen, the amount of toppings seemed plentiful and worth it. Although the portion size didn't seem too large and the amount of noodles wasn't excessive, perhaps due to the heavy soup, I felt full after finishing the meal. It might be too much for women to finish. If you're looking for a hearty meal, this place is perfect. The staff were friendly, energetic, and provided great service. It's been a while since I visited this shop♩. It's always crowded here, whether it's day or night or even midnight!!. There used to be a cucumber dish called Kyu-chan, but it's gone now...( ;∀;) I wonder if they would bring it back if I asked?? Confident that I could win in rock-paper-scissors, I decided to go for ramen if I won → my treat if I won → one can of beer if I lost. The result was a loss, so we ended up having ramen. I love ramen, so it was fine, but at this hour, the enemy of the chubby, the alarm, was ringing. As a result, we headed to Kunigamae. This place is known for its house-style ramen in Kokubunji. Despite the current circumstances, they are working hard to keep the prices unchanged at this restaurant. Although I felt like adding rice, I have already committed sins at the level of having my gold card canceled, so I ordered without hesitation. Honestly, the taste was familiar and there was nothing new, just the usual quality. I left feeling satisfied. However, the staff's enthusiasm made me feel like giving them an offering, so I was able to fully enjoy the experience. As for Budoka-guchi, I might still prefer Kichijoji. Today, I visited Budokaya, the original shop of Onomata-ya where I had previously visited. This shop is what got me hooked on family-style ramen. I ordered the Chashu Ramen with seaweed, seasoned egg, firm noodles, rich flavor. Rice is all-you-can-eat, which is great for students! The ramen was served in about 5 minutes after ordering. The rich soup was visually powerful, as expected from their specialty. The soup was thick and sticky, with a strong pork bone and soy sauce flavor that would make you want to eat it with rice alone. The noodles were medium-thick from Sakai Seimen, chewy and easy to mix with the soup. The chashu was the thickest and most tender I've ever had, it just crumbled with a light bite. It would definitely sell well as a chashu bowl. The seasoned egg was flavorful and perfectly half-boiled, showing the effort put in by the shop. I dipped the seaweed in the soup and enjoyed it with the rice. If I had discovered this during my student days, I would want to eat it every day due to its punchy and flavorful taste that remained delicious until the last bite. I came to Kokubunji. The main store is in Takadanobaba, but there are branches in Nakano and Kokubunji as well. When you want something rich and packed with flavor, this is the place to go. For my order, I asked for half-cooked egg with seaweed and extra spinach. When I tried the soup, it was indeed rich. It's a bit too rich to drink a lot of it though. The added spinach goes really well with it. The thick, chewy noodles are delicious. This is how a ramen should be. You can wrap the seaweed around the noodles or the spinach, it's all good. Adding pepper or garlic is also recommended. Especially when you melt the garlic, the flavor really elevates, but be careful not to put too much. Chili bean paste also goes well, but be careful as it may change the soup's taste if you mix it in. I wanted to have rice too, but the calorie intake would be too high, so I just had the ramen. The chashu seems to be pork shoulder. A bit fatty chashu is good for a rich broth like this. Lastly, I poured the soup over the flavored egg and ate it. It's not something you eat regularly, but it's amazing when you have it once in a while. Thank you for the meal.

This time, I ordered the char siu ramen with "extra rich, extra meat, normal" toppings, and it was amazing! The soup is rich and flavorful, with a strong pork bone soy sauce base and a slight texture that's irresistible! The medium-thick noodles are a perfect match, so delicious! The char siu is tender, perfectly seasoned, and packed with meaty flavor, just the way I like it! I added garlic halfway through, making it the ultimate house style ramen experience! I visited around 3:30 PM on Sunday. There was no wait. It's a ticket system. I ordered a medium-sized ramen for 950 yen with extra seaweed for 50 yen and a half-boiled seasoned egg for 100 yen as toppings. Rice is free to eat as much as you want during this time. I like my noodles firm and the soup mild, which was a rich and well-emulsified mild tonkotsu soup, made to be less salty. The noodles were medium-thick straight noodles from Sakai Seimen, but even though I asked for them firm, they were quite soft. The pork shoulder chashu was tender and delicious.

I ordered ramen, nori, and rice. I was happy that the rice came with pickles for only 50 yen. I ordered the ramen with varying levels of firmness and it was delicious! However, my partner couldn't finish their ramen, so I tried to eat it all but reached my limit due to the richness of the dish. The pickles were a lifesaver as they helped reset the taste of the ramen. The staff were friendly and the food was excellent, making me want to come back again.

This is a custom order ramen with a strong soy sauce flavor, lots of seaweed, half-cooked egg, and extra fat. It doesn't have a long line, and it seems like the unlimited rice option is popular. While preferences may vary, I personally prefer a pork bone-based ramen like the one from Machida-ya.

I went to a ramen restaurant for the first time in a while. To be honest, I'm not really good at judging whether ramen is good or bad. I usually just decide based on whether it tastes good or not. This time, the ramen at this place was delicious! (It's usually always delicious) I didn't really sense a strong chicken oil aroma, it was more subtle. I preferred the taste before adding garlic rather than after.
