First of all, the approach from the station to the restaurant is excellent. It takes about 2 minutes to walk from Akasaka-Mitsuke Station to Akasaka Fudoson. This area is truly one of Tokyo's leading entertainment districts. At night, just a 2-minute walk will have you being called into numerous shops by their staff. The dazzling neon lights of the city are overwhelming. However, once you pass through the torii gate of Akasaka Fudoson and turn left onto a small path, the situation changes completely. The hustle and bustle quickly fades away, and a quaint house reminiscent of a traditional inn appears at the end of the path. This is "Akasaka Umaya," directed by Ichikawa Sarunoshin. This place offers a great atmosphere both day and night, with relatively reasonable prices for the quality of food and experience. What's more, the menu for both food and drinks is extensive. The dishes range from shabu-shabu, hot pot, sashimi, tofu, grilled skewers, and many other creative dishes. You can even finish off with Hakata ramen. The use of ingredients from Kyushu is a notable feature. Whether you opt for a set course or order a la carte, be sure to try the spicy lotus root and karasumi, as they are truly delicious. The drinks selection is also impressive, with beer, shochu, sake, wine, and even Shaoxing wine available. It's a delight to find Kirin Ichiban beer here. The lunch menu offers a variety of options from fish dishes to baked curry, ensuring you won't get bored. As it is a popular spot, it's wise to make a reservation early for dinner. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit.

Tokyo Gourmet Exploration! Minato Ward, Akasaka Mitsuke Edition Bincho Charcoal Grilled Chicken, Black Pork Shabu-Shabu Specialty, 3rd Generation, Ichikawa Sarunosuke's Green Room Meal Finally, the long-awaited first visit to the popular restaurant "Akasaka Umaya" supervised by Ichikawa Sarunosuke! On a sunny day with a gentle breeze, on such a peaceful day, my partner and I decided to take a leisurely stroll to see the exhibition of the "Miraculous Ichimon Matsunone" and then have lunch in Akasaka Mitsuke! We had been checking out this popular creative Japanese restaurant for a while. We walked from Akasaka Mitsuke Station towards Akasaka Fudoson on the back streets, about a 5-minute walk. A hidden gem appears at the end of the approach to Akasaka Fudoson, a place like this with such a restaurant, a different world in the hustle and bustle of the city. A two-story building with a quaint old house-style facade. Established in 2002, this creative Japanese restaurant has been in business for 20 years in this area. Directed by the 3rd generation of Kabuki, Ichikawa Sarunosuke, with a focus on Saga-brand chicken grilled with Kishu Bincho charcoal, Mitsuse chicken, yakitori, and Mizutaki, as well as Kyushu-produced black pork shabu-shabu. To finish off, you can also enjoy authentic Hakata ramen. Bincho Charcoal Grilled Chicken, Black Pork Shabu-Shabu Specialty, 3rd Generation, Ichikawa Sarunosuke's Green Room Meal. The long-awaited first visit to the popular restaurant "Akasaka Umaya" supervised by Ichikawa Sarunosuke! We arrived a little after 12 o'clock! This hidden gem of a restaurant was fully booked! We waited for a while sitting on the spacious earthen floor! We waited for about 10 minutes! Once we were seated on the second floor, it felt like an oasis in the hustle and bustle of the city! The interior of the restaurant was surprisingly spacious, and the bustling atmosphere didn't bother us! After some deliberation, I ordered the specialty, Sarunosuke's Green Room Meal! My partner chose the weekly side dish and miso soup set for ¥1300. You can choose between white rice and barley rice, with a raw egg on the side! Feeling thirsty, I first quenched my thirst with a bottle of beer. Cheers! After waiting for 10 minutes, the beautifully arranged 8-inch side dishes arrived! Sarunosuke's Green Room Meal was on the table! The miso soup was a separate order of pork miso soup! Shortly after, my partner's weekly set meal arrived, which this week included chicken tempura! The Green Room Meal included tuna sesame salad, mentaiko, white salad, simmered dish, rolled omelet, steamed chicken breast with miso sauce, sesame tofu, shrimp fry, chawanmushi, and pickles, totaling 10 dishes! All of them had a gentle and delicious taste, excellent umami, and were exquisitely delicious! The miso soup, with plenty of pork belly slices, was full of ingredients like daikon, burdock, and carrots! It had plenty of ingredients, a good broth, a good miso flavor, and was exceptionally delicious! For dessert, we had almond jelly pudding in a cute little bottle! The round and rich panna cotta with almond flavor was exceptionally delicious! Truly, the exquisite work and taste of Ichikawa Sarunosuke's supervision! A popular creative Japanese restaurant with a quaint atmosphere in the hustle and bustle of Akasaka! Excellent taste and exquisite dishes! Next time, we will definitely revisit at night! Delicious and superb!

I visited for the first time and the atmosphere was lovely, I felt like taking pictures even before entering the restaurant. I happened to have a course meal in a private room. Each dish was beautifully presented. Women tend to like this kind of cuisine, right? Apart from the photos, the meat dishes and sashimi looked very delicious but I forgot to take pictures of them (ーー;). It's a very nice restaurant.

I revisited "Akasaka Umaya," located a 2-3 minute walk from Akasaka Mitsuke Station, down a small alley off Ichigokadori. I had previously gone for lunch and it was delicious, so this time I brought guests from overseas for a dinner course. We ordered the Kyushu Special Course "Ki" (9000 yen), excluding drinks. The course included Karatsu Kawashima Tofu's zaru tofu, seasonal appetizers, assorted sashimi, our egg chawanmushi, pickles, grilled silver cod, Kyushu black wagyu steak, steamed conger eel rice, our egg pudding with fruits, and more. The dishes were beautifully presented and all very tasty. The drink selection was extensive, starting with Brooklyn Lager beer from the U.S., followed by Oita sake, Kagoshima sweet potato shochu, and even red wine from Italy. The restaurant's traditional Japanese-style private rooms made for a perfect setting for entertaining overseas guests, who were also very satisfied. This restaurant is ideal for business entertaining.

I used it for a lunch meeting. We had a meal around a rectangular table like a hearth with about ten people. While the luxurious lunches like Ichikawa Sarunosuke's dressing room meal were tempting, I chose the charcoal-grilled pork with grated yam set meal and asked for barley rice. The taste, atmosphere, and service were excellent. They accepted lunch reservations without a price limit and allowed separate payments. It would have been perfect if they accepted PayPay, but even so, it became one of the restaurants I would like to visit again.

There is a Japanese restaurant next to Akasaka Fudouson, located about 200m west from exit 10 of Akasaka Mitsuke Station on the Ginza subway line. The staff were very polite and the atmosphere of the restaurant was very calm and lovely. Each dish had its own unique twist, such as enjoying yuba with salt, spicy grilled salmon marinated in mentaiko, and red snapper in the mixed rice. The sashimi was fresh, the beef steak was tender and delicious, and the special almond tofu was so rich it could be mistaken for pudding. Overall, it was a satisfying course.

I sometimes use this restaurant near my workplace. I had the charcoal-grilled lunch with pork loin. It's good when I want a Japanese set meal. They used to serve a raw egg, but it seems like they stopped due to the current situation. They give a bottle of Evian, but I don't need it, so I would appreciate it if they lowered the price instead.

Blog "Pet Care": https://pet-restaurant.com/ Pets allowed: No For this special edition, I experienced a gourmet lunch at "Akasaka Umaya", located about a 3-minute walk from Akasaka-Mitsuke Station on the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line and Ginza Line. This charming restaurant, which appears after passing through the torii gate of Akasaka Fudoson, offers a rich menu centered around ingredients from Kyushu. The restaurant features various seating options for different occasions, including a casual counter seat for solo diners, private table rooms for business meetings, and chair table seats for a more casual dining experience. I was seated in a tatami room with chairs on the second floor. I made a reservation for 1 pm on a weekday, and the restaurant was almost full. The lunch set menu includes specialties like the "Rakuyameshi", a bento box inspired by the third generation actor Ichikawa Sarunoshuke, and the popular "Mochi Pork Charcoal-Grilled Tororo Set", offering a variety of dishes from meat to fish for daily enjoyment. You can choose between white rice or barley rice with your set meal. The first lunch set I ordered was the summer limited edition "Chilled Soup and Chicken Nanban Set" (tax included 1,300 yen). The chilled soup has a refreshing miso base with the flavors of cucumber and sesame. The chicken katsu is juicy and tender with a crispy coating. The tartar sauce has a refreshing acidity from the mayonnaise base. The second lunch set I ordered was the "Mochi Pork Charcoal-Grilled Tororo Set" (tax included 1,400 yen). The mochi pork is rich in fatty and savory flavors, grilled over charcoal for a fragrant and juicy taste. The tororo (grated yam) offers a natural sweetness and a sticky texture. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience. Payment can be made in cash or by credit card.

I just dropped by, but it seemed like it would be better to make a reservation. The seats were not for lingering between reservations, but I didn't plan on staying long anyway, so I got in. I have been here a few times, always ordering the dressing room meal, but it's a little expensive, so this time I went for the regular set meal. The grilled pork with grated yam set meal was delicious! The atmosphere is great, it's a standalone restaurant, and it feels like a hidden gem. I want to invite other friends to visit this place.

I used to frequent the Shinano-cho store, so I visited the nostalgic Umaya Akasaka store. The food in the green room is delicious! It even came with dessert. With an iced coffee, it's about 2000 yen per person. The fact that they don't charge for private rooms is also great, so I will definitely come back here.

Just a 2-3 minute walk from Akasaka-Mitsuke Station, down a small path on the left side of Ichinoki Street near Akasaka Fudoson Itoku-ji, you'll find a lantern-adorned front gate. Beyond that is a warm curtain-covered middle gate, leading to a large traditional Japanese house. This is a charming third-generation Ichikawa Sarunoshin, supervised creative Japanese cuisine restaurant. The establishment originates from JR Kyushu, offering a variety of dishes from Kyushu. The interior boasts a large wooden structure with 150 seats, adorned with many Kabuki-related decorations. We were seated in a private room, where we found "Evian" water provided on the table. We ordered the Ichikawa Sarunoshin's Green Room Meal (1800 yen), which is an arrangement of the bento box delivered to the third-generation Ichikawa Sarunoshin's dressing room. It features a variety of small, elegant side dishes such as shrimp fry, yuba, marinated tuna, simmered pork, mentaiko, and simmered vegetables in a traditional wooden box. It was a delightful and delicious experience with various flavors. The meal also included rice, miso soup, chawanmushi, pickles, and almond jelly dessert. You can choose between white rice and barley rice, and enjoy unlimited refills of rice and miso soup. This restaurant provides a special space that helps you forget the hustle and bustle of the city, making it a great choice for entertaining foreign guests.

We used the private room for a lunch meeting with 8 people, and it was wonderful because we couldn't hear other customers' voices. The dishes were delicious with each small dish being carefully seasoned. Both the food and the atmosphere were worth more than the price.

I used it for a small event at lunch. It has a nice atmosphere that seems suitable for dining together. I was curious about the recommended "green room meal", so I ordered it. It came with various small dishes, just the right amount for lunch. The almond jelly dessert was delicious.

The atmosphere inside the restaurant felt luxurious and stylish. The staff were polite and provided a sense of reassurance. Each dish was carefully prepared. I tried the recommended dishes highlighted in red on the menu. The mentaiko (spicy cod roe) omelette was filled with mentaiko inside and the outer egg was fluffy and delicious. The tsukune (chicken meatballs) were juicy and flavorful. The zaru tofu had a strong taste of the ingredients, and personally, I thought it went well with salt. I also ordered pork belly skewers, which had a good texture and were tasty.

Akasaka Mitsuke is charming because of the haphazard gathering of eateries, and this restaurant is a standalone house with an entrance a little ways in, making it worth a visit just for that. I ordered the "Sarunokosuke's green room meal," and while the price is a bit high for lunch, the quality and quantity make it worth it. It's not too crowded, so you can have a leisurely conversation. The option to make a lunch reservation is also a plus.

We enjoyed the specialty dish called "Rakuyameshi" at this restaurant together. I found the autobiography of the former president of JR Kyushu in the March 2023 issue of the Nikkei newspaper quite interesting, especially the episode about when JR Kyushu started this restaurant. It made me want to visit this place. When we were served the Rakuyameshi, I was surprised to see tiny seasoned sashimi pieces in small dishes, only a few millimeters in size. This made me wonder if the dishes were a bit overpriced considering their small portions. However, when my companion mentioned that each dish requires a lot of effort to prepare, I reconsidered my initial thoughts. One dish that stood out was the shrimp fry, with a thin and crispy coating. The restaurant is said to be the former residence of the late Ichikawa Sarunoshin, as mentioned in the autobiography, with the third floor still used as a Kabuki practice room. The interior has a charming old-house feel, adding to the overall dining experience. While the service from the staff was not exceptional, it was still good.

At lunch, rice and miso soup are refillable. It was difficult to get a refill on the second floor as the staff rarely came by. There was no call bell at the table. The interior and exterior are stylish in a Japanese style, suitable for a lunch date. The chicken cutlet was crispy and delicious. It's often full or reserved even on weekdays, so making a reservation is recommended.

【Taste】I had the recommended lunch set, which came with about 10 side dishes, chawanmushi with grated yam, and I changed the miso soup to pork miso soup and the rice to barley rice. It was satisfying to enjoy a fulfilling lunch in a private room away from the usual hustle and bustle. 【Atmosphere】The building exudes a traditional Japanese ambiance and its location, just a 3-minute walk from the station, is very convenient. This time, we used an 8-person private room. There are also non-private seating options and 4-person private rooms on the second floor, making it suitable for various purposes. 【Cost Performance】The lunch costs around 1,100 to 1,500 yen. I think it offers great satisfaction. The dessert included almond tofu, which had a rich and addictive taste similar to milk pudding or Bavarian cream.

Special lunch set (the shrimp fry was delicious) and I ordered the chicken cutlet lunch! The almond jelly dessert was very smooth and delicious, so I recommend adding it! The atmosphere inside the restaurant was nice, and we were able to have a delicious and enjoyable time!

Despite being right near Akasaka-Mitsuke Station, this place has a great atmosphere. I felt excited when entering. You take off your shoes and go up to the second floor where there are table seats. It was packed with customers, showing that it's a popular spot. The prices are reasonable considering the ambiance at the entrance. However, it was quite lively inside. The food was delicious, but nothing particularly stood out. Overall, the dishes were decent. #AkasakaDrinks #AkasakaGourmet #TokyoAtmosphericRestaurant #AkasakaIzakaya #AkasakaKyushuCuisine

A traditional Japanese-style house in the heart of Akasaka, with a fantastic atmosphere. I enjoyed delicious Japanese cuisine with overseas guests. The private room can accommodate about 12 people, offering a variety of drinks including beer, sake, and wine. The ambiance, food, and drinks were all excellent. I would love to visit again if I have the chance.

I received an invitation and visited the restaurant. From the entrance with lanterns to the calm entrance, it was well-designed. I climbed the spacious wooden staircase to the 2nd floor and sat at a table. It was 6 pm on a weekday, but there were many businessmen and it was already bustling. I had already reserved the black pork shabu-shabu course, so I just ordered my favorite drink. The staff seemed busy taking orders almost by themselves, but the dishes came out steadily and there was no disappointment. Everything was delicious, and the shabu-shabu had a rich flavor in the pork meat with a subtle yet flavorful sesame sauce. I finished with noodles and was full. The almond tofu dessert was surprisingly like a mousse with whipped cream. I enjoyed it deliciously.
