Sha County Lu Rou Mian is a noodle dish version of the Taiwanese dish Lu Rou Fan! There is a similar dish to Lu Rou Fan in mainland China as well! The meat sauce is poured over the noodles, similar to Zhajiangmian! Sha County Lu Rou Mian has a slight hint of star anise flavor and is quite rich and fatty! The star anise flavor is not too strong, but it adds to the richness of the dish! The meat is tender and has a sweet and salty soy sauce base flavor, with a hint of star anise! The noodles are flat and medium-thick, with a soft texture but chewy and elastic! Mixing the sauce thoroughly with the noodles allows the flavors of the meat and sauce to spread in your mouth! Additionally, the noodles help balance out the richness, making it easier to eat! Sha County Lu Rou Mian has a thick, sweet and salty sauce with a hint of star anise that pairs perfectly with the noodles, making it a favorite dish over Lu Rou Fan and Zhajiangmian! It is a dish that is easy to eat even for Japanese people due to its lack of strong flavors! Jiu Cai He Zi (Egg and Chive Pockets) are Chinese pastries filled with egg and chives that I ordered! They are quite large for only 275 yen, which is very affordable! The thick, chewy crust is filled with fragrant chives and egg inside! The egg was crumbly like scrambled eggs! There is a slight hint of star anise flavor, but it is not overpowering, tasting more like a stir-fry of chives and egg! Additionally, there is a gentle sweetness from the egg! I made a dipping sauce using soy sauce, chili oil, and vinegar from the condiments on the table, which is the authentic sauce for dumplings in China. When dipped in the sauce, the flavor of the pockets gets hidden, tasting more like pan-fried dumplings. Eating them as is allows you to enjoy the subtle sweetness of the egg! Jiu Cai He Zi is a dish that those who enjoy dumplings or xiaolongbao would likely enjoy!

Visited the Ikebukuro authentic Chinese food court. Used the touch panel at the entrance counter to search for the menu. Since there were no other customers behind me, I took my time to browse. The prices were a bit high, but I couldn't judge the taste without trying it. I decided to go with the lamb noodles instead of beef noodles. It cost around 1000 yen. I also ordered a Qingdao beer. It was Saturday night at 10 pm, and there were only a few customers. When my order arrived, I noticed that it was lamb meat with some tripe. The atmosphere was nice, though.

Visited with two friends. We had tapioca milk tea, lamb skewers, seared char siu, premium xiaolongbao, chilled crab skin, and ended with warm osmanthus oolong tea. Split the bill, around 2400 yen each. Perfect for a light meal. The music volume might be a bit distracting for conversations.

Day two in Tokyo. This day we traveled as a couple. We ate too much on the first day. For breakfast, we had a Banh Mi takeaway in Okubo, and even by lunchtime, we weren't hungry. We wanted something light, so we went to the Chinese food court. It was my third visit. It was quite crowded last time, but this time it was quiet. There was a lunch menu, but we chose items a la carte. I wanted to eat ice powder, but it had disappeared from the menu. I indulged in liangpi, lamb skewers, intestines, and oyster cakes. It's easy to end up with a carb overload with such a wide menu, but I thought it was typical food court fare. It's just right when you want something light.

After finishing a solo live performance in Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre, I stumbled upon this place that caught my interest as it felt like being overseas. I ordered through mobile and found many unfamiliar menu items. I thought fish balls would be like those in Singapore, but they were different - chewy with a flavorful meat or fish inside. The soup was gentle and comforting. The prawn fried rice had succulent shrimp and chewy rice. The Yellow Chicken in Stone Pot had a taste similar to Bak Kut Teh. I didn't know what to expect before arriving, but it turned out to be a healthy and delicious meal. The only disappointment was the fried rice, as the rice was a bit mushy instead of fluffy. There are many other dishes I'm curious about, so I'd like to come back again.

On August 20, 2023 (Sunday), the newest among the three Chinese food courts in Ikebukuro is said to be "Fēitáng xiǎochī chéng." The interior of the restaurant is clean and gives you a feeling of being abroad. All the staff members give off a Chinese vibe. You order everything by scanning a QR code on your smartphone, and the staff brings the dishes and drinks to your table. (During busy times, serving robots are also in operation...)

★Menu★
-------------------------------------------------------------
▶ Tsingtao Beer
First, I ordered this. Unlike Japanese beer, it has less bitterness and is easy to drink, making it a perfect match for flavorful Chinese dishes.
▶ Lamb Skewers
They look spicy, but they are not that spicy. However, the unique spice aroma and the richness and umami of the lamb meat will get you hooked. It was a popular menu item that everyone was ordering.
▶ Fried Qingdao Oyster Cake/UFO
It was my first time trying this, and it has a crispy outer layer like a deep-fried meat bun. It has a decent portion size and is very satisfying.
▶ Premium Xiao Long Bao (Soup Dumplings)
Served piping hot, with a generous amount of filling, they were delicious.
▶ Steamed Shrimp Dumplings
With plump shrimp and a thin skin, these dumplings are easy to eat. The taste is so easy to enjoy that you could eat them endlessly.

I finally went to Gachi Chuka, which was highly talked about when it first opened. I had been avoiding it assuming it would be crowded. I decided to go when things calmed down a bit. I arrived right at opening time, but surprisingly I was the first customer. It wasn't very crowded even after that. I ordered fried rice and wonton soup. My impression is that it was quite ordinary. It didn't have any strange flavors. I didn't try any unique dishes this time, so if I go again, I will try something different.

I stayed in China for a while and came here looking for authentic Chinese food. The nostalgic atmosphere and dishes were very enjoyable, but overall the flavors were mild, which may be more suitable for beginners. The staff are kind and can communicate well in Japanese, so you can visit with peace of mind. There were still more dishes I wanted to try, but unfortunately I was already full. Thank you for the meal.

Long-awaited authentic Chinese cuisine in Ikebukuro. The restaurant seems relatively new, with an easy ordering system (you can order at each table using a QR code). The menu is divided by regions such as Sichuan and Yangzhou, with options like dim sum. During the early hours of the weekend, the customers include local Chinese-speaking groups as well as some Japanese gatherings. There are also people who come to eat shaved ice after a drinking party from lunchtime. The dishes include tofu with chili oil, grilled lamb skewers, and more. Since it's a food court, the dishes are simple and easy (just reheated?). The spicy duck had a strong flavor, but was good as a snack (there were other spicy dishes available too). The five-ingredient fried rice had mixed vegetables, which was a bit disappointing. The drinks were standard, but the Dragon Highball (sparkling wine with Shaoxing wine) was surprisingly good.

I decided to experience authentic Chinese cuisine and entered the restaurant. I was surprised to find that most of the customers were Japanese, not Chinese speakers. To try some authentic dishes, I ordered pan-fried soup dumplings, lamb skewers, braised pig's trotters, and fried bread. The lamb skewers were spicy and delicious, even though they weren't very hot. The braised pig's trotters had a strong star anise aroma, so I ordered Shaoxing wine to go with them. The fried bread was quite oily, but I personally enjoyed it! To finish off, I had tapioca milk tea before heading home. Compared to the drinks at izakayas, tapioca milk tea felt affordable and I recommend trying it. Thank you for the meal.

On the third floor of a mixed-use building in a chaotic area where Chinatown and the bustling district intersect in the northwest direction of Ikebukuro Station. It operates like a food court where you can order from each store's menu using your smartphone, making ordering very convenient. The food arrives quickly. When two people visited, they ordered spring rolls, premium xiaolongbao, shrimp shumai, wonton soup, and daikon mochi. The shrimp shumai was a bit too authentic, deviating from expectations, but everything else was incredibly delicious. The menu is extensive, and it's a great place to revisit and try other dishes.

I went for lunch while running errands in Ikebukuro. It was my first time at the authentic Chinese food court, so I was a bit nervous at first as I didn't know how things worked. When I sat down, a female staff member brought a 2D barcode and instructed me to order using it. The menu was divided by different regions of China, and I was unsure of what to order, but I ended up getting lamb skewers and Yangzhou fried noodles. The taste was authentic and delicious. I would like to go again with friends next time and try more dishes.

It had been a long time since I last visited Ikebukuro North Exit, and it had completely turned into a Chinatown. The air was filled with authentic Asian scents coming from the street stalls. On a Saturday afternoon, I was taken by a friend to a trendy Chinese food court in a building. You could order dishes from several restaurants using QR codes. I was expecting a hardcore Chinese experience, but the service was surprisingly friendly and attentive. The beer was good and cheap too. I enjoyed the exquisite Cantonese pea shoots stir-fry, cumin-flavored lamb skewers from Northeast China, and delicious Hong Kong dim sum. It was not crowded, so there was no stress. I didn't try the noodles next door this time, but they looked delicious as well.

Cheap and delicious. The portion size for each dish is quite large, so it's better to go with a large group. If you go with someone who is knowledgeable about Chinese cuisine, you can try dishes that you can't find at local Chinese restaurants or chain stores. I recommend the leek buns, lamb nuggets, and pressed tofu. The duck blood dish is a must-try for spicy food lovers. It was sold out, but next time I want to try the drooling chicken. Everything I ate was delicious, so it's also good to order based on your mood at the time.

This is one of the authentic Chinese food courts in Ikebukuro. They offer a variety of dishes from the owner's hometown of Fuqing City in Fujian Province, as well as from regions such as Tohoku, Sichuan, Shanghai, Guangdong, and Hunan in mainland China. The dishes may be unfamiliar, but they are really delicious! Check out more details on the blog!

Ordering was difficult, but I picked out what I wanted to eat from the menu with photos and people enjoying their meals posted in the restaurant! It was fun in its own way ☺️ The seafood stew had a rich broth and was delicious, and the chashu in the ramen was amazing with lots of meat.

*Waiting Time* No waiting time on Monday at 7:00 PM *Orders & Prices* Xiao Long Bao, Cheong Fun, Daikon Mochi, Seafood Vermicelli, Beef Noodles, Stinky Tofu, Yangzhou Sweet and Sour Pork, Popsicle Chicken, Stir-Fried Pea Shoots. The flavors are not too strong, making it easy for Japanese people to enjoy. Prices may be a bit high for some dishes, but the portion sizes are satisfying. *Looking Forward to* Enjoying not only the flavors but also the atmosphere of the restaurant.

Order:
- Mixed Satsumaimo Dango (951 yen): A specialty from Fujian Province. The skin is made of sweet potato, but the filling consists of pork, onions, seaweed, and oysters. It's a surprising combination! Comes in a set of 5 pieces, very filling.
- Lamb skewers (330 yen): Two skewers for 330 yen, a good value. Simply delicious.
- Hui Guo Rou Bao Huang (396 yen): Steamed bun filled with Hui Guo Rou (pork stir-fry).
- XO Sauce Stir-fried Seafood (1,298 yen): I wasn't sure what XO sauce was, but this dish of shrimp, squid, scallops, carrots, onions, asparagus, and wood ear mushrooms was packed with flavor and very tasty.

Excellent!! The best cost performance Chinese food in Ikebukuro! It's a food court style, but you order with your smartphone and they bring the food to you. It feels cleaner than the other food court in Ikebukuro, and although the prices are a bit higher, it's worth it. Great for gatherings like drinking parties. The Xiangyang beef noodles are amazing, so make sure to order them. The combination of cilantro, soup, and noodles is outstanding, and since it's made with rice flour, it's healthy. Honestly, it's been a while since I've had something this delicious. The beef skewers, lamb, and honeycomb tripe were all delicious as well. Even the last dish, the rice roll, was tasty.

Food court located in the bustling Chinatown area near Ikebukuro West Exit. Surprisingly, you can make reservations and order via smartphone while looking at pictures on the menu. The menu is also written in Japanese, making it easy for beginners to enjoy. The dishes I tried were as follows:
- Highly recommended: Grilled lamb skewers
- Recommended: Marinated dried tofu, Steamed shrimp rice noodle rolls, Sichuan-style spicy bean curd jelly
- Average: Duck blood foil grilled, Seasoned fried chicken wings
Overall, I was very satisfied and will definitely visit again.
