This is a review of Happy Pancake in Omotesando. I came as a companion to my friend's favorite restaurant, and as usual, it was extremely crowded. We didn't have to wait in line as we arrived just before closing time, but once everyone was seated, the waitstaff was in full swing. It was a mad rush. I decided to prioritize securing a table, so I ordered a drink first and waited. Once the place was full and things calmed down, I ordered the Happy Pancake for ¥1100. They usually make 6 pancakes at a time, so it's enough for two people. The pancakes were fluffy like omelettes, made without baking powder but using only eggs to rise, resulting in a fine texture and a delicious, fragrant finish. The honey buttercream was well-balanced and melted nicely. It's made with fermented butter, but it's not spread on the surface like a crepe, so the aroma is subtle. The caramel sauce mixed with the buttercream adds a slightly salty kick, enhancing the flavor. The first pancake had a nice egg aroma, and the second one tasted even better with the buttercream. Warm pancakes alone are a treat. The pancakes were thick, so by the third one, I felt the buttercream was running out. I may have been too greedy with the second one (laughs). It's a delicate balance. The fluffy, fragrant pancakes were beautifully done. As a companion, I enjoyed them thoroughly (laughs). Bon appétit!

I personally felt that the pancakes had a strong egg flavor, but my husband, who likes eggs, didn't mind it. It was a bit disappointing that the pancakes were warm, but the fruits were kept at room temperature and ended up being cold. I would have preferred them to be cold too. The fact that the drinks were served in plastic cups for dine-in, despite the emphasis on sustainability nowadays, was also a downside for me. The service from the staff was good, nothing exceptional. Overall, if asked if I would want to eat there again, I would say it's okay, so I rated it 2.5 stars.

Oh, the handwashing area in the restroom was broken, which was inconvenient. I hope they fix it soon.
