The omurice was delicious and the staff were cute. The omurice with tomato sauce had a strong acidity from the tomatoes, which I liked. I usually don't like black tea, but I was able to enjoy it with honey. The restaurant seemed to have many regular customers and foreign tourists.

[2022.12] Had a luxurious lunch in Akihabara and went PC parts shopping. I want to build a new machine for the game I've been looking forward to next year. I was able to grasp the current market prices, but I'm tired from walking. Since I have time until a luxurious dinner in the evening, let's take a break at a cafe. I came to Onoden in front of the station in search of healing time. It's been a while since I heard the BGM of Onoden Boya. The 4th floor has a space for otaku and there's also a maid cafe. It used to be in a different location and I used to frequent the shop a lot, but it's been a few years since my last visit. It feels a bit larger than the previous shop. It's past 2 PM but it's crowded probably because of the year-end. The maid at the reception seems busy and her response is a bit indifferent. I was guided to a seat for one person and looked at the menu to order. I wanted something sweet, so I ordered the sweets plate. The maid in the hall is very polite. By the way, there's no "Welcome back" or "Master" here. The staff wears a classical maid outfit with a black and white theme. There are no skimpy maid outfits like in other places or cabaret-like services. There are no maid street touts, which I like. The sweets plate that arrived included waffles, ice cream, scones, jam, and whipped cream. The waffles and scones here are delicious. They feel like they are handmade. I like to eat this while drinking tea. I don't usually drink tea, but I always drink it at this shop because it's delicious. I ordered the "Dinbra" that I tried and liked for the first time at this shop. I asked for jam as a tea snack. It's still delicious. The fragrant aroma is nice. The teapot contains enough for three cups so you can enjoy it leisurely. It gets stronger as you relax, but... The maid pours it carefully for the first cup. If you want to pour it yourself, let them know before. I stayed for about an hour, relaxing and writing a food review on Tabelog with my Pomera. I had a peaceful time. It seems to be a collaboration with Touhou, as gameplay videos were playing on a large monitor. The sound wasn't too loud, so it wasn't bothersome. Places like this are typical of Akihabara. The customers are considerate, chatting quietly or spending leisurely time, so you can relax without worrying about your surroundings.

I arrived early for lunch (11:30) and was the first one there. I found it on a map app and it was located in front of Gori Station. I remembered it being further back when I went there a long time ago. When I asked at the cashier, they said they had moved. The white sauce omurice was 990 yen and it was delicious. The bacon was quite prominent. I felt like my stomach was going to burst. It was just the right amount for a man. It took about 10 minutes from ordering, and I could hear the sizzling sound of it being cooked, which was nice. They were doing a collaboration with Higurashi, but I didn't know anything about it, so the music was a bit scary. The service was polite and attentive, and I didn't feel uncomfortable. Compared to before, being in a building took away some of the luxury feel, but it still had a nice hidden gem vibe. The location is convenient now, the prices are reasonable, so overall, it's pretty good. I would like to come back for an afternoon tea rather than for lunch.

I entered the restaurant and took the elevator to the 4th floor. As I walked towards the back, the shop came into view. There were some items displayed at the front of the shop, but as I headed towards the cashier, a maid greeted me. There were two groups of female customers already seated. A male customer arrived later, but it seems like women who value the experience are more likely to visit this shop. I was guided to a table at the back. Since I had already eaten duck soba, I was just there for a drink. I ordered the 20th-anniversary tea "Cure Anniversary," which is a blend of Darjeeling Second Flush, rock candy, Alasan, cornflower, marigold, and rose red. The cafe has a spacious layout with black ceilings and white walls. Apart from the Girls und Panzer panel and introduction video on the wall in front of me, the atmosphere was calm. After a while, my order was served. The maid placed a pot and cup on the table, but there was no performance involved. The pot and cup had the shop's logo on them. The pot contained only tea, with no tea leaves inside. The tea had a good aroma and a sweet taste from the rock candy, making it a delicious drink. Considering the quality, the price seemed reasonable. The staff were all dressed as maids, but they provided service like regular waitresses without any anime voices or gestures. Overall, it can be used as a regular cafe as well. It might be a hidden gem after all.

Yes! Today I went to Akihabara with my anime friend for an event? Recently, Uma Musume has become really popular, right? I haven't played it, but my friend knows a lot about horses, so we wandered around Akihabara together. A little tired, we took a snack break at a cafe near Yushima Tenjin! We have about 2 hours until our reservation. We continued to wander around Akihabara. We went into an electronics store building and decided to take a break there. Oh, a maid cafe~♪ I haven't made my debut there yet, embarrassingly! I also want to experience the moe moe kyun kyun♪ feeling!!! Huh? This place is different? I have to be mature and quiet here? Aww... Alright, here we go! Cure Anniversary! Second Flush Darjeeling with rock candy, cornflower, marigold, and rose petals! It's quite an original blend! The hint of sweetness from the rock candy and cornflower complements the Darjeeling tea flavor. The aroma of marigold and rose petals lingers nicely. And the traditional style of pouring from a hot teapot through a strainer adds to the experience! It's more authentic than expected and reasonably priced! Isn't it nice? We also had waffles! The decoration was added just before serving! Fluffy waffles with strawberry ice cream and whipped cream, topped with chocolate, provided a sweet moment! I wanted to have a moe moe kyun kyun♪ experience, but the classical maid vibe was also nice! Although, I couldn't help but notice a little stain on the apron... Oh well, it's okay! This Cure Maid Cafe is Japan's first maid cafe, celebrating its 20th anniversary! I hope they continue to serve authentic tea and provide a healing space in Akihabara!

At the start of 2022, I enjoyed a cup of New Year's black tea at a maid cafe in Akihabara. This cafe is known for serving delicious tea, on par with famous hotels, and the way they brew it is meticulous and tasty. Surprisingly, even the maid cafe, Maidlish, has been selected as a place with great tea.

I visited the Maid Cafe, said to be the birthplace of Maid Cafes. I had been to a concept cafe before, but the overly cute service made me feel embarrassed and I left in a hurry. However, since I was in Akihabara, I decided to muster up the courage and enter. I was a bit taken aback by the maids at first, but they provided normal customer service, which put me at ease. The cafe frequently holds collaborations with anime works, and it seemed like many customers were there for that on the day I visited. I ordered the Earl Grey tea, which was said to be delicious. The first cup was brewed by the maid, and it was a pot service, so I enjoyed plenty of tea. The prices were reasonable, so I would like to visit again and relax.

■Shop Introduction Cure Maid Cafe is an old established maid cafe in Akihabara. I revisited after 15 years. This was my 2000th review on Tabelog, and I had decided beforehand that I wanted it to be about my sanctuary in Akihabara, a maid cafe. It used to be located in the Gachapon Kaikan building, but it has since moved to a location closer to the station and facing Chuo Street. ■Visited Time Saturday 11:00 AM. I planned to just have tea and leave before it got crowded, so I arrived right at opening. There were only 3 groups of customers initially, but by 11:30 AM, about half of the seats were filled. ■Food and Drink and Impressions Original Herb Tea "CURE HIBIS" - 550 yen A deep-flavored red tea blend of rose hip, rooibos, chamomile, raspberry leaf, linden, passion flower, and marigold. It was nice to have a tea that I don't usually drink, especially when served by the maid. It was delightful to be served in a teapot. In the midst of many overpriced items, Cure Maid Cafe truly lives up to its long-standing reputation. ■Interior and Atmosphere The atmosphere has not changed much since its previous location in Gachapon Kaikan. The classy interior, calm service, and menu resembling a regular cafe. The customers who gather here seem to appreciate this ambiance. There was a collaboration cafe with KEY, with original artwork displayed and BGM playing the theme songs from past series. Ahh, the nostalgia! I belong to the Kanon generation. In the past, they seemed to focus more on cake menus, but now they offer more hearty options targeted towards men, like the Kanazawa Champion Curry. Akihabara seems to have an abnormal number of ramen and curry shops, catering to the demand. ■Service and Hospitality The maid's service was lovely, with no hint of rudeness. I discovered the "Supporter Card" system for the first time, where you can join for 3000 yen annually and receive 3000 yen worth of meal tickets plus additional benefits. What a great deal! I guess I have to join.

Unraveling the history of maid cafes takes us back to 1997 when Cocktail Soft (F&C) released the "Welcome to Pia Carrot!!" series. This game became popular for its cute characters and costumes, resembling the uniforms of the popular anime "Animerica" at the time. The second installment, "Welcome to Pia Carrot!! 2," even made an appearance at the Tokyo Character Show in 1998 with a booth selling goods and drinks. This led to the opening of the first Pia Carrot-themed restaurant inside a shop in Akihabara, followed by the establishment of the Gamers Cafe featuring cosplay of the Dejiko character. Over time, the concept evolved into maid cafes, with Cure Maid Cafe being the first to introduce maid costumes for waitresses. The cafe aimed to provide a comfortable environment, delicious food, and quality service, catering to the needs of Akihabara's working population. The focus was on creating a relaxing atmosphere with good food and tea, as well as courteous service. Maid cafes have since become a popular trend, offering a unique dining experience with themed decor and entertainment for visitors seeking a taste of Japanese pop culture.

I wanted to experience a Japanese culture, but it was totally different from what I imagined - haha. It was very quiet, and the food was delicious, so I think it's a good cafe for afternoon tea. ✨
