★4.2【FILE 4124】June 21, 2023 (Wednesday) 13:11 Visited a seafood izakaya that opened in January 2017, located on the second floor of JEBL Akihabara Square, just one street behind Showa Street in Kanda Neribeicho. The interior of the restaurant has a calm atmosphere with a dark brown and chic lighting theme. There is a large counter seat on the right side as you enter, surrounded by table seats, with a total of 111 seats, making it very spacious. During my visit, about 80% of the seats were occupied. It remained relatively crowded with about 80% of the seats filled. The customer base is split evenly between men and women. The service is efficiently handled by a female staff member. The menu includes dishes such as: - Buri Sashimi Bowl 1200 yen (tax included) - Seafood Negitoro Bowl 1200 yen (tax included) - Thick-cut Grilled Salmon and Sashimi Set 1200 yen (tax included) - Grilled Salmon Set 1000 yen (tax included) - Grilled Mackerel and Hock Set with Sashimi 1200 yen (tax included) - Grilled Mackerel and Hock 1000 yen (tax included) - Chicken Karaage and Sashimi Set 1100 yen (tax included) - Chicken Karaage and Ham Cutlet Set 1100 yen (tax included) - Chicken Karaage Set 1000 yen (tax included) - Today's Simmered Dish Set 1000 yen (tax included) - Ginger Grilled Dish and Scallop Cream Croquette Set 1100 yen (tax included) - Minced Cutlet and Sashimi Set 1100 yen (tax included). I ordered the Today's Simmered Dish for 1000 yen. The dish was served 4 minutes after placing the order, consisting of simmered Tai Kabuto (fish head), rice, miso soup, and pickles. The Tai Kabuto simmered dish caught my eye, and I decided to dine here instead of the planned restaurant next door. I was worried it might be sold out, but luckily I was able to order it. When it was placed in front of me, I was impressed by the incredibly large Tai Kabuto simmered dish. It was tender, well-seasoned, and incredibly satisfying in both portion size and taste. The rice, miso soup, and pickles that came with it complemented the dish perfectly. The restaurant's interior has a calm atmosphere with a dark brown and chic lighting theme. Various cashless payment options were available for settling the bill. The Today's Simmered Dish for 1000 yen includes Tai Kabuto simmered dish, rice, miso soup, and pickles. The incredibly large and delicious Tai Kabuto simmered dish was tender, well-seasoned, and incredibly satisfying in both portion size and taste.

I visited around 11:30 AM on a weekday and the restaurant was almost full. However, the food was served quickly and many customers ate quickly and left, so there was a good turnover of customers. The sashimi was thick and the rice portion was generous, making it very delicious. Thank you for the meal.

The appetizer was cream croquette. The crispy and delicious seaweed tofu, which I always order, is always tasty even when it cools down. I prefer it warm. The first time I tried the jewel box, it was so amazing, but this time it was not as impressive. I was surprised by the grilled yellowtail collar! I didn't expect the collar to be included, so it was quite satisfying. Everything was delicious and I left feeling satisfied.

I visited the restaurant on a weekday in August at 6 pm. It was crowded, so reservations are a must. The open kitchen had a lively atmosphere, and I was seated at the counter.
~Order~
1. Cream Croquette (appetizer) - Creamy and comforting taste.
2. Mehirari Fried Chicken - Really delicious! I could eat as many as I want! I squeezed lemon for a refreshing taste.
3. Scallop Grilled with Seaweed - Seaweed and grilled scallops are a perfect match. I want to try making this at home.
4. Grilled Tuna Collar - When it was placed on the table, the tuna head was so big that I accidentally asked the waiter if I ordered it. The taste was also amazing.
5. Treasure Box (Assorted Sashimi) - The fish was fresh and delicious, making me appreciate the taste of fish even more. There are still many dishes I want to try, so I will definitely visit again. 🍣

I decided to go to this restaurant to eat fish in Tokyo. If you are looking for a cheap and delicious fish izakaya, you can enjoy the group here. It was my first time at the Akihabara store, so I was a little lost, but the staff kindly guided me. I wasn't sure what to order for the sashimi platter because of the number of people, but they explained it to me and I had a great time. Usually, I don't have any expectations or excitement for the otoshi (appetizer), but here, the crab cream croquette always comes out. I always look forward to this crispy and creamy crab cream croquette. There is also a designated smoking box, so you can use it with peace of mind.

I want to go to Uokin after a long time. I made a reservation through the Tabelog reservation system for the Uokin in Akihabara, which is closer to my home. The reservation confirmation email mentioned that I would receive a discount of 320 points when settling the bill, which I can use only at the reserved restaurant. The Uokin in Akihabara is more spacious than other locations, and I prefer sitting at the counter where I can comfortably enjoy my meal without bumping into others. I decided to try the Sushi Set for 1280 yen, which includes four types of sushi with 12 pieces in total. The sushi was thinly sliced with a generous portion of rice. I also ordered the Corn Tempura for 390 yen, which was delicious with a hint of curry flavor. Since they were offering Monkfish Stew instead of the Red Snapper Stew I wanted, I tried it and found it to be well-cooked with a good amount of flesh. I also ordered the Chikuwa Cheese Tempura for 660 yen, which had Gorgonzola cheese inside and was very tasty. The Cream Croquette served as the appetizer was a nice touch, but I was surprised by the 5% service charge added to the bill. Overall, I enjoyed the variety of dishes at Uokin and had a pleasant dining experience.

I was taken care of at a university reunion. The restaurant is spacious and clean. The dishes that come out are delicious. The staff are attentive and come to take orders without having to call them. After turning 60, I have tried various restaurants and services, and this restaurant is truly appreciated. I want to go back again. I forgot to take a photo of the assorted tempura and closing soba.

It was past 12 o'clock for lunch. I went to Akihabara for training, so I went to Uokin's Akihabara store. When I arrived at the restaurant after 12 o'clock, all the seats were taken. Many people around me were eating simmered sea bream, which looked delicious. Since I didn't have much time, I ordered the classic buri-shirasu donburi. I managed to catch a waiter and placed my order. The food arrived in less than 5 minutes. Unlike the sad seafood bowl I had at a random restaurant last week, I couldn't see the rice underneath. The buri and shirasu were generously served. The buri was thick and the sesame aroma enhanced the deliciousness. It also came with a side dish, all for a reasonable price of 1,200 yen. Many restaurants had stopped serving lunch after the pandemic, so I was excited to have a good value lunch after a long time. Thank you for the meal.

I visited for the first time and honestly, I won't be visiting again. They sell fish, but it's no different from buying sashimi at the supermarket. I didn't feel any motivation from some of the staff... Maybe it was just an off day?

Today's lunch was at "Uokin" (Akihabara branch). It is an izakaya located on the second floor of a building a little north of Akihabara Station (photo 1). The photo 2 shows the lunch menu displayed in front of the restaurant. I arrived around 12:30 pm and the place was quite crowded, probably due to lunchtime. I was seated at the counter and ordered the "Grilled hokke and mackerel with sashimi set (¥1,200)". It arrived in about 4 minutes (photo 3). I thought it was a good deal for ¥1,200, with two types of grilled fish and even sashimi included. The grilled fish was cooked just right, and it came with a side dish of simmered hijiki. The iced barley tea in a pitcher on the table was also a nice touch, especially in the heat of Tokyo. Payment could be made by credit card. Overall, I recommend this place for a weekday lunch, both for the food and the atmosphere.

Fish Kin, famous for its high cost performance seafood, also has a branch in Akihabara. The sashimi platter (Tamatebako) for 1,980 yen is a generous portion, with thick slices that are delicious and satisfying. Every menu item is reliably tasty and reasonably priced, making it a great value. Located inside an office building, it is cleaner and more comfortable than the Fish Kin in Shinbashi.

It was empty after 21:00 on a weekday, but they asked us to leave by around 22:30. Even though it says last order at 22:00. The usual "Three Point Assortment" for 2,480 yen... Do they have 10 items? Haha. It's better not to go too late, they seem busy. It can get uncomfortable. They also asked for our last food order around 21:30. Fish Kin is recommended for those who want to eat a lot of fish cheaply rather than for the service.

It was quietly tucked away a little distance from Akihabara Station. Next door was a Western-style seafood restaurant called Uokin. I thought about trying that next time as I entered the restaurant. The interior was spacious with Uokin's unique lighting, making me wonder if this was really Akihabara. The complimentary cream croquette had a crispy outer layer and a creamy inside that was truly impressive! The oysters from the treasure box were grilled upon request. This time, we sat on the terrace, but we noticed that smoking was allowed at other tables. I wonder if smoking is permitted here?

In the redevelopment building in the area where there used to be many paper recycling shops in Akihabara, there is a popular yet hidden gem restaurant called Uokin. It has a trendy and calm atmosphere without being too noisy, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. The complimentary Kanikuriko dish was delightful and the sashimi platter along with the seaweed tofu were satisfying. I wished I had tried more dishes, so I ended up returning with another friend later on. My friend Maachan tried to order a whole portion of the seaweed tofu for each of us, but I teased her saying, "It's not Kaga-ya's simmered dish," which made her surprisingly crack a joke.

On Saturday, I arrived a bit late around 4 pm without a reservation at Uokin, which opens at 3 pm. There were not many customers at this time, so I was able to enter and was seated on the terrace. The terrace seat had a great atmosphere with a view of the cherry blossoms along the railway, creating a pleasant and cozy environment. For my first drink, I chose an American Lemon Sour, which is a sweet lemon sour with Sangria red added. It was a hit - the flavor of Sangria and the acidity of lemon matched really well. I definitely want to drink this again! While enjoying my drink, a surprising appetizer arrived - crab cream croquettes for each person. This was the most impactful appetizer I've seen. My excitement level went up at this point. Additionally, the tempura of bamboo shoots was juicy and fragrant, while the dried squid tempura had a rich flavor and a good texture. In conclusion, it was my first time visiting Uokin in a while. It's a popular restaurant that is usually hard to get a reservation at, but I found out that it's possible to get in during the early hours. I plan to find some time again to go and enjoy the delicious food.

During the peak of the new coronavirus outbreak, I believe this place was closed. But when I visited after a long time, I was surprised to see that it was open for business. On the second floor of the building, there were two restaurants side by side - Uokin and Bistro Uokin. It was quite busy, so I sat at the counter and ordered a mixed sashimi bowl with a light portion of rice. It cost 1200 yen, but with a 50 yen discount for a light portion of rice, it came to 1150 yen. The dish arrived fairly quickly. The bowl had a mix of yellowtail and whitebait, with the yellowtail being rich in fat and marinated in a sesame soy sauce dressing, which was very delicious. The seasoning of the whitebait was just right for the rice. I thought the dish was satisfying enough even without the cream croquette. They also had grilled and simmered fish on the menu, so I would like to come back again.

No matter how you look at it, the scallop cream croquette as an appetizer is too luxurious. And it's delicious too! The staff may look intimidating, but they are actually very kind. The sushi feast was cheaper than I expected, only 1200 yen? And the winner in my opinion is the deep-fried natto roll. It enhances the sweetness.

I used this day for a meal with a customer. I had only eaten about 2/3 of the curry at lunch. The meal included the following dishes: cream croquette, tofu with green seaweed, kimchi with squid legs, a reasonable three-item assortment, a selection of 7 oden dishes, and half-grilled hokke. The drinks I had were: draft beer, Shakunetsu (red hot sake), and Yamamoto Doshin (spicy sake). Despite saying I was full, I ate quite a bit. The alcohol was enjoyable and the meal was a treat. Thank you for the meal.

I used Gotoeat Tokyo! A few years ago, I had fugu tempura at another fish restaurant and hoped to find it here, but it wasn't on the menu. I hope they bring it back! The buri kama was big and very satisfying to eat. The sashimi had horse mackerel in it, which made me happy! The shiny fish was fresh and had a nice texture.

I entered Uokin in Akihabara during lunchtime. Their recommended dish is the premium seafood rice bowl for 1200 yen, which includes salmon roe, negitoro, and other sashimi. It was delicious, but the rice was not vinegared. I think it would be nice to have a vegetable side dish for balance instead of the cream croquette. The pickled ginger side dish was refreshing and tasty.

I had lunch on a regular day. I had the ginger pork set meal, and my companion had the grilled fish set meal. Both meals came with a large serving of rice for free. We wanted to have a sashimi platter, but they didn't offer it during lunch time. The ginger pork was ordinary in taste and portion size. The grilled fish was large and satisfying. The white fish sashimi was average in freshness. I think both meals cost around 1000 yen. They accept payment through PayPay and credit cards.
