After enjoying a delicious cheesecake at An Seine Dangle, head to this place where you can enjoy the stunning views of Meiji Jingu Shrine's forest for lunch. Arriving 20 minutes before opening, there was only one group waiting in line, so it seems like we can get the terrace seats we were aiming for. Since there were already more than 15 people by opening time, it seems like you have to arrive a little before opening to secure a terrace seat on weekends. As expected, the terrace seats offer a lovely view. For lunch on this day, I had the onion gratin soup (1100 yen) with bread, and added a glass of white wine (550 yen). The wine was the house wine here, with reasonable pricing. Its lemon-like refreshing sweetness and astringency match my taste. The onion gratin soup was piping hot. It was delicious to dip the bread in it, enjoying the richness of the melted cheese along with the sweetness and aroma of the onions. And of course, I felt like having dessert too. Since they didn't have Basque cheesecake, I went for the Paris-Brest (500 yen) with an espresso (500 yen). The Paris-Brest had a slightly brown cream, resembling mocha cream, but it didn't have a mocha-like taste, rather it was a rich cream. The pistachio sprinkled on it added a fragrant touch, and the crispy choux pastry with a chewy texture was delicious. The terrace seat on a day with weather like early summer is fantastic. I definitely want to visit again. Thank you for the meal. For more details, please visit my blog "Eating, Taking Photos, Writing" at https://tabetorukaku.com/

I always wanted to go to Over Canal, and the omurice was incredibly fluffy and delicious! I also ordered the potatoes and Caesar salad because they smelled so good from the person next to me, and they tasted delicious too. I went around 12 pm on Saturday and was able to get in without waiting in line.

I entered the restaurant around 6 pm. It wasn't too crowded, so I was seated right away! I had ordered omurice last time, so this time I ordered souffle. The salad and salmon were tasty, and the main souffle was fluffy and the shrimp and rice inside were a perfect match. It was really delicious! The flavors complemented each other well. I want to go again!

I ordered a berry crepe for 1100 yen. It was delicious with a perfect balance of sweet and sour flavors from the ice cream and fruits. The atmosphere was also nice. You can also get cakes to go. The shop is located right next to IKEA, just a short walk from Harajuku or Meiji-Jingumae Station.

A restaurant located on the 3rd floor of the landmark building "WITH Harajuku" in front of Harajuku Station. It has a calm interior that is not typically Harajuku-like, attracting an older clientele. It's a rare find in Harajuku. There are terrace seats where you can enjoy a meal while overlooking Harajuku Station. The cakes are also popular, with some people buying them for takeout or as souvenirs. I visited during lunchtime and the portions were generous and very delicious.

On the final day of my trip to Kanagawa, I decided to visit Meiji Shrine in Harajuku. Feeling hungry, I randomly walked into a restaurant. I thought, why not have some champagne in the afternoon! So, I started with a galette with salmon as a snack. The champagne disappeared in no time, so I added a beer. The amount of cheese on the galette was just right and delicious. There's a similar restaurant in Osaka, so I'll definitely go there again! But, in this restaurant, there were only girls, haha.

I had been curious about this restaurant with a terrace visible from Harajuku Station for a while. I went there for lunch the other day, and when I arrived at noon, there were about three groups waiting, but I was able to get in after about 10 minutes. I ordered white wine and salmon galette. The galette had a refined flavor and was very delicious! I thought it might not be enough, but I was quite satisfied and it became one of my favorite dishes! The atmosphere is nice and stylish, so I would like to try going there at night as well.

I entered the restaurant as soon as it opened on a regular day. The weather was nice, so the seats near the window had natural light shining in, making the photos look great! I ordered the lunch set with a large shrimp gratin plate. The plate came with French bread, a mini salad, and carrot rapé. The dressing for the salad and the carrot rapé had a tangy flavor, perfect for hot weather. The main dish, the gratin, didn't really taste like a gratin, but it had rice at the bottom! It was more like a doria. However, since I love dorias, I was actually happy with the rice. It was very delicious as a doria! I enjoyed dipping the bread in the sauce. The shrimp was big and juicy! I also treated myself to a strawberry mille-feuille as part of the cake set this time. Considering the location and atmosphere, I think paying 2,100 yen (for the plate + drink, cake set) is reasonable. Since it was early in the morning on a weekday (11:00), there were many solo female diners, and I was able to enjoy my meal quietly.

AUX BACCHANALES Harajuku Store Harajuku Station / French restaurant A stylish and calm restaurant overlooking Harajuku Station. Great location. Terrace seats are not popular when the temperature is 30°C. I prefer the omelette rice from a café rather than the high-end souffle omelette rice. Recommended. #AUXBACCHANALES Harajuku Store #Harajuku lunch #souffle omelette rice

★4.0 [FILE 4111] June 11, 2023 (Sun) 15:48 Visited the brasserie "Au Bacanal" on the 3rd floor of WITH HARAJUKU, facing the Meiji Shrine forest, which opened three years ago in June 2020. There are a total of five "Au Bacanal" locations in Tokyo: Kioicho (opened in January 2004), Ginza (opened in March 2008), Takanawa (opened in March 2008), Harajuku (opened in June 2020), and Yaesu (opened in August 2021). The restaurant has a good atmosphere with a glass-walled view from the 3rd floor overlooking the Meiji Shrine forest. There are terrace seats available. Facing the Meiji Shrine forest, there are terrace seats, table seats in the front, with a total of 119 seats, making it quite spacious. During my visit at 3:37 pm, there was already a line of 3 groups totaling 7 people as the restaurant was fully booked. However, since they use a reservation system at the entrance, there is no need to wait in line. At 3:48 pm, I was seated at a glass-walled table overlooking the Meiji Shrine forest. The line of customers continued without interruption, and the restaurant was very crowded. The customer base consisted of 90% women and 10% men. The service was efficiently carried out by two female staff members. The dessert menu includes Royal French Toast (¥1200), Souffle (¥850), Crepe Suzette (¥1000), Berry Crepe (¥1100), Creme Brulee (¥700), Strawberry Millefeuille (¥650), Caramel Fondant Chocolat (¥700), Opera (¥600), Almond Praline Eclair (¥600), and Lemon Tart (¥600). I ordered the Strawberry Millefeuille for ¥650. The dessert was served 10 minutes after ordering and consisted of layers of strawberries, custard cream, and crispy pastry. The rich custard, the sweet and sour strawberries, and the crispy pastry combined to create a delicious dessert. The restaurant has a good atmosphere with a glass-walled view from the 3rd floor overlooking the Meiji Shrine forest. Payment can be made with electronic money and credit cards. The Strawberry Millefeuille for ¥650 was delicious, with the rich custard, sweet and sour strawberries, and crispy pastry all coming together nicely.

I visited the restaurant to try the souffle omelette on the menu. I went on a Sunday afternoon and the restaurant was spacious, so I was seated within 10 minutes. The omelette was delicious, and the demi-glace sauce served on the side was also very tasty. The terrace seating has a great view and is highly recommended.

In Harajuku, there was an Italian festival called "Falling in Love with Italy," so I decided to go to Harajuku and have lunch. I had been hesitant to go because of the long line, but this time there weren't too many people waiting, so I decided to line up. After about 15 minutes, we were seated in the back room, where we could relax in a nice corner by the window. The chairs were a bit low and the tables were a little high, but it was a nice spot. It was a late lunch, so we decided to share a salad, an omelette rice, and an onion soup between the two of us. I really wanted to try the hamburger or quiche plate, but unfortunately, it was only available on weekdays and the weekend menu started at 5 pm. The salad had a mustard dressing, and the onion soup had a rich and delicious flavor. The omelette rice had a fluffy and well-cooked egg on top, almost like a souffle. We also ordered a fruit tea, which was slightly sweet and had blueberries, oranges, lemons, kiwi, and acerola in it. It was a nice and relaxing meal. Thank you for the meal.

Today I had lunch in Harajuku. I knew it would get crowded after 12 o'clock, so I arrived before that and was able to get a window seat smoothly. I actually wanted to sit on the terrace, but it seemed like it wasn't being used because of the light rain. They have a lunch menu on weekdays, but since it was a Saturday, there was no lunch menu. I had to choose from the regular menu, which had a very limited selection. I wanted to try the duck confit, but unfortunately they didn't have it. I ended up ordering something called Souffle Omelette Rice. It's ketchup rice topped with a fluffy omelette. You crack it open in the middle and then pour demi-glace sauce over it. I thought this was a creative and interesting idea.

Unfortunately, it was cloudy, but the location in front of the station with a view of greenery from the window is the best. I wonder if lunch will be crowded... Whenever there is lemon tart or lemon cake, I always end up ordering it. The tart here has a quite firm crust. When you put a fork in it, the meringue on top, lemon custard, and pie fall apart. I prefer the crust to be a little more moist and crispy.

I finished shopping and decided to take a break at Over Canal cafe near the station. When I arrived on the 3rd floor, there were a few customers waiting outside, so I waited for about 20 minutes before being seated on the terrace. I ordered a strawberry mille-feuille and a hot coffee because it was cold. The mille-feuille was dry and not to my taste, and the strawberries were small and disappointing. The coffee was just average. Fortunately, the view of Meiji Shrine's forest from the terrace was nice. Thank you for the meal.

Cafe visit. Over Canals is famous, but it was my first visit as I hadn't had the chance to go before. Visited around 3 pm on a holiday and waited for about 20 minutes. Since I had already eaten lunch, I ordered lemonade and mille-feuille for the cafe use. It was a bit difficult to eat the mille-feuille as the fork didn't go in easily, but the taste was delicious. The cost performance was better than I expected, and it's a convenient place to visit again.

The taste was very ordinary. The prices were a bit high, but maybe it's because of the location. The atmosphere is nice, but the service and cleanliness are just passable. It's clear that they are understaffed. The place is spacious and easy to use. However, the food is just not delicious.

Ovaka Canal, known as a popular tart shop in Osaka Umeda, also has a branch in Harajuku. When I visited, I found that they had a limited tart menu and mainly served omurice. I ordered the strawberry mille-feuille, and it was incredibly delicious.

I had lunch at AUXBACCHANALES on the 3rd floor of Harajuku Station with Harajuku. I chose the Omurice Plate with Lobster Souffle from the lunch menu for 1300 yen. Everything looked delicious and I had a hard time deciding. The souffle was fluffy and melted in my mouth. Inside the souffle was a rich lobster omelette. It was so delicious that I couldn't resist ordering the dessert and drink set for an additional 800 yen. I chose iced tea and strawberry mille-feuille. The crispy mille-feuille was delicious. The view was also great, so I highly recommend it.

Over Canal in Harajuku. A cafe restaurant located on the 3rd floor of a building near Uniqlo and IKEA on the main street in front of Harajuku Station. I really like the atmosphere of Over Canal. On this day, I enjoyed a relaxing time with a strawberry mille-feuille and iced tea. The location is great, so it was crowded even after lunchtime. It's a place where you can enjoy both meals and cafe time. There is also a terrace seat, so I think it's nice for this season. I recommend stopping by casually. Thank you for the meal.

When you leave Harajuku Station, you can see the terrace seats and the sign "AUX BACCHANALES" above IKEA in front of you. Take the escalator to the 3rd floor past IKEA and UNIQLO. Visited with 2 people around 3 pm on a holiday. There were about 3 groups waiting. There seemed to be some available seats inside the restaurant. Waited for about 10 minutes and were seated inside. We were seated by the window. We were served water. We pressed the bell (button) on the table to order. The cake and drinks arrived in about 5-10 minutes. Instead of a receipt, a numbered key was placed on the table. The service was a bit lacking in smiles and greetings, but the atmosphere inside was calm and elegant. It wasn't too formal, and the ambiance was cozy. The menu was completely different from the one at Over Canals Ginza. [Order] - Strawberry Mille-feuille: The photo shows the pastry in a messy state after removing the transparent film. It's not easy to eat as the pie crumbles, but the strawberries were fresh and the custard (?) was smooth and very delicious!! - Iced Tea Latte: Not too sweet and very easy to drink.
