★4.0 [FILE 4111] June 11, 2023 (Sun) 15:48 Visited the brasserie "Au Bacanal" on the 3rd floor of WITH HARAJUKU, facing the Meiji Shrine forest, which opened three years ago in June 2020. There are a total of five "Au Bacanal" locations in Tokyo: Kioicho (opened in January 2004), Ginza (opened in March 2008), Takanawa (opened in March 2008), Harajuku (opened in June 2020), and Yaesu (opened in August 2021). The restaurant has a good atmosphere with a glass-walled view from the 3rd floor overlooking the Meiji Shrine forest. There are terrace seats available. Facing the Meiji Shrine forest, there are terrace seats, table seats in the front, with a total of 119 seats, making it quite spacious. During my visit at 3:37 pm, there was already a line of 3 groups totaling 7 people as the restaurant was fully booked. However, since they use a reservation system at the entrance, there is no need to wait in line. At 3:48 pm, I was seated at a glass-walled table overlooking the Meiji Shrine forest. The line of customers continued without interruption, and the restaurant was very crowded. The customer base consisted of 90% women and 10% men. The service was efficiently carried out by two female staff members. The dessert menu includes Royal French Toast (¥1200), Souffle (¥850), Crepe Suzette (¥1000), Berry Crepe (¥1100), Creme Brulee (¥700), Strawberry Millefeuille (¥650), Caramel Fondant Chocolat (¥700), Opera (¥600), Almond Praline Eclair (¥600), and Lemon Tart (¥600). I ordered the Strawberry Millefeuille for ¥650. The dessert was served 10 minutes after ordering and consisted of layers of strawberries, custard cream, and crispy pastry. The rich custard, the sweet and sour strawberries, and the crispy pastry combined to create a delicious dessert. The restaurant has a good atmosphere with a glass-walled view from the 3rd floor overlooking the Meiji Shrine forest. Payment can be made with electronic money and credit cards. The Strawberry Millefeuille for ¥650 was delicious, with the rich custard, sweet and sour strawberries, and crispy pastry all coming together nicely.
