Visited on June 12, 2018 at 1:01 PM, this traditional Japanese restaurant is located on the 7th floor of the Masuyoshi Building, just off the main road in Akasaka. Established 33 years ago in Akasaka Rokuchome, it relocated to its current location in Akasaka Sanchome 9 years ago in 2009. The restaurant specializes in traditional Japanese cuisine that incorporates the flavors of home-cooked meals. The interior is decorated in a dark brown color scheme with a calming atmosphere.
Upon entering, you will find a total of 15 seats, with counter seating at the front and table seating towards the back. During my visit, there were no other customers present initially, with only one couple entering later on. The customer base is evenly split between men and women.
The menu offers a variety of dishes such as red salmon, salted mackerel, grilled saury, mackerel marinated in miso, Chinese herbal curry, five-colored natto, and eel rice bowl, all ranging from 1300 to 1500 yen. I ordered the grilled mackerel marinated in miso for 1300 yen, which included chicken, meatballs, simmered hijiki seaweed, sunny lettuce, meat dumplings, miso soup, rice, and a small dessert.
The service was prompt, with the grilled mackerel being served in about 22 minutes after ordering. The meal started with a pre-appetizer of chicken, meatballs, simmered hijiki seaweed, and sunny lettuce, presented beautifully on an oval plate. The meat dumplings were moist and flavorful, while the miso soup was rich and hearty. The grilled mackerel was tender and had a subtle sweetness from the miso marinade. The meal ended with a small dessert of three sweet treats.
Overall, the restaurant provided a comfortable and inviting atmosphere, with high-quality traditional Japanese cuisine that was delicious.
