I entered the restaurant at 9 pm with no wait time. I ordered 4 pieces of nori. The thickness and size of the chashu were just right. I chose double spiciness. I like hard noodles so I chose hard, but they started to soften halfway through. Still, it was delicious.

I definitely want to go to Ichiran as soon as I return to Japan to experience the culture. Once again, the taste was outstanding. The noodles, soup, chashu pork, and green onions were all incredibly delicious. I always make sure to finish every last drop of the soup, which is unique to Ichiran ramen. I always buy cup ramen as a souvenir because the taste lingers.

I was able to get a seat as soon as the restaurant opened on Sunday, but I was surprised to see it quickly fill up with people waiting for seats just 10 minutes later. I ordered the ramen with toppings of black fungus and green onions, and added an extra half portion of noodles. I like my noodles firm, and they were delicious! It was my first time at Ichiran, and it was really tasty! When I left around 11:30, there was already a line stretching down the stairs.

I visited during lunch time. As expected from Ichiran, there was quite a line. Maybe because it's in Harajuku, there were a lot of foreign visitors. You need to purchase a meal ticket from the machine before entering the store. Unlike the Ichiran in Shinjuku, only cash is accepted in Harajuku, so be aware of that.

This soup. A devilishly milky broth. Addictive to the point where you want to drink it all the way to the end. After a year-end drinking party. From Aoyama to Shibuya via Omotesando. Nutritional replenishment after a walk. The pork bone soup and this noodles. The spiciness of the red pepper accent made it irresistibly delicious. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I can't stop, I can't resist, I end up drinking it all. I usually don't eat ramen because I care about my health, but I always feel like having Ichiran from time to time. Once I sit down, I end up adding an egg, and I even finish the soup. It would be a better deal if it were cheaper, but the high price serves as a deterrent. Sometimes, I just think, "Oh well," and go for it.

"Ichiran Harajuku Store: A popular tonkotsu ramen specialty store with a system that focuses on concentrated flavors at the counter. There was no line this day, so I visited for the first time in years. It seems like there aren't as many lines lately. I added extra chashu and finished it in no time. Delicious!"

Sometimes I really crave tonkotsu ramen, but there aren't many options around Meiji Jingu-mae. I decided to try Ichiran, which is usually quite crowded (there was even a line at the stairs). I bought a ticket at the entrance and chose a simple ramen. The price at the Harajuku location was 980 yen. I was seated and filled out my preferences on a piece of paper, then called over a staff member to place my order. I noticed a water jug with a slow pour next to me, which was a bit annoying but I guess it's all part of the experience. The ramen arrived, with a cloudy broth, green onions, and chashu pork. In the middle was a spicy "red secret sauce", and the noodles were thin. Ichiran's ramen was surprisingly light and comforting. It's not mind-blowing, but it's a reliable taste. I'll definitely come back when I feel like having it again.

Sometimes, I suddenly crave Ichiran's tonkotsu ramen. For those who have been there, you would know that the counter seats are divided into individual booths, which is a comforting setup during the pandemic. The staff members are also thorough in wearing face masks. It's interesting how even if you go with friends, each person enters their own booth, and it can be a hassle to move the partitions back and forth. I like extra green onions and sometimes I add spice. The app offers extras like extra noodles and free extra green onions, showing their dedication to customer service. The Harajuku branch tends to have long lines extending outside. Even after reaching the entrance, there is still quite a wait inside, reminiscent of queuing for attractions at a certain dreamland or sea. Furthermore, the process of entering the booth to eat feels like entering a horse racing gate. With all that said, writing about it makes me crave it again, it's quite mysterious.

I wonder what it is about this place that makes me want to go occasionally. Among Hakata ramen, it's considered high-end, right? The broth is rich and addictive. This time, I tried ordering a small serving of rice for the first time. I was expecting it to be chewy and fragrant, but the rice turned out to be quite soft. They are charging money for it, so I expect the rice to be delicious. It's not like it's free rice somewhere! If you're going to eat it with the soup, each grain of rice needs to be firm, or it'll turn into porridge. I couldn't finish it like that, so I ordered a half-size extra serving of noodles. Thank you for the meal.

Today, the whole family had separate plans, so my wife messaged me saying, "Today, feel free to eat out." After getting a haircut at a nearby barber shop, I had to decide between going to a ramen shop or a crepe shop. I decided on ramen. I had been wanting to try it, but places like Shinjuku and Harajuku always have long lines. Luckily, I arrived close to opening time and was able to enter without waiting in line. The menu had three options on the top row, and the only difference I could understand was whether there was an option for extra noodles or not. In situations like this, I always go with the top left option as the most recommended choice. The speed at which the staff came to take my order and the speed at which the ramen was served were both impressive. Even though you could customize aspects like noodle firmness, soup richness, oiliness, garlic, etc., I chose the standard options except for firm noodles. The soup, oil, and noodles all tasted like typical tonkotsu ramen, meeting the standard expectations. It wasn't about personal preferences, but more like a universally enjoyable taste. I also ordered a boiled egg, which was just a boiled egg. When I ordered an extra serving of noodles, I added some wood ear mushrooms. The speed at which the staff took my order and the speed at which the extra noodles were served were both impressive. The extra noodles were firm like the first serving, which isn't always the case at some places. The wood ear mushrooms were more refined than I expected, with a thick and crunchy texture. I had been hoping for something more dried and savory, so it was a bit disappointing. Overall, I recommend this place for families with young children when going out for ramen together.

I finished work early in Shibuya, so I decided to take a walk to Harajuku for a change of pace before heading home. Just before reaching Harajuku, I saw this sign and couldn't resist - once you see it, you just crave it, right? I ordered my favorite "ICHIRAN 3 Selections + extra garlic" by writing it on a piece of paper. The soup was rich with the savory flavor of pork overflowing. The bones were not crushed too finely, so the flavor of the meat and marrow was prominent. The light soy sauce base enhanced the saltiness and umami of the soup. The lard on top was rich and flavorful, adding depth to the taste. The spiciness of the sauce blended into the soup, keeping it interesting until the last drop. The thin straight noodles had a satisfying firmness and a nice bite. Breaking the eggshell myself before the ramen arrived was a fun experience. Eating ramen in a semi-private booth added another level of enjoyment. The consistency of deliciousness at Ichiran is always reliable. The umami flavor is rich and doesn't get boring. Definitely recommend getting an extra serving of noodles. The spiciness of the sauce becomes addictive. I just wish it was a bit cheaper. Overall, a satisfying meal as always! Thank you for the meal!

After a long time, I used garlic and vinegar as toppings. The soup had a stable and delicious taste, especially with plenty of oil which I like. The soup tasted even better with a hint of spiciness mixed in. The vinegar topping added a unique flavor, making it enjoyable to customize the taste finely.

I visited this restaurant for lunch. It is located on the second floor, up the stairs, with two ticket machines at the entrance. I was a bit confused by the menu on the ticket machine, so I randomly selected the middle option on the top row and entered the restaurant. The atmosphere felt like being at an amusement park, and I felt like I was entering a horse racing gate. I found a seat at the back of the restaurant, where many young women were dining. The staff handed me a paper to customize the firmness of the noodles and the richness of the flavor. The space for placing my business bag was limited, so I had to place it under the table. I pressed a button on the table, and a staff member came to take my order, although I couldn't see their face. After a short wait, I received a bowl of ramen with a boiled egg and green onions. The egg was hard-boiled, which was unexpected. I peeled the egg and added it to the tonkotsu ramen, which tasted delicious. The seating area felt cramped, like being in a horse racing gate. I wished for a bit more space. The prices seemed a bit high, possibly due to the location. Overall, it was a tasty meal.

The Ichiran in Harajuku on Sunday was really crowded... I had a sudden craving for it so I decided to go, but had to wait for almost 10 minutes in line before getting in. As usual, I filled out the order sheet with preferences like firm noodles, strong flavor, extra fat... and ended up ordering an extra serving of noodles too. It was delicious.

Second time at Ichiran in my life. I was a bit confused about the seating system at the restaurant, but the staff helped me out. The taste was decently good. However, I found the prices a bit high. It's a shame that they only accept cash for payment. It would be nice if they could also accept transportation IC cards.

I went to Ichiran in Harajuku! It's been a while since I last visited Ichiran, but it's still delicious. Maybe because I came after the sauna, it tasted even better than usual. I even ended up getting a half portion of extra noodles. Among chain ramen shops, this is one of my favorites.

【Overall】
Sometimes you just crave ramen, and today was one of those days. Ippudo is the place to go. One of the unique features of Ippudo's ramen is that you can customize your toppings, making it fun to create your own original ramen. The distinct tonkotsu soup with their secret sauce (spicy) is undeniably delicious. After slurping up the noodles, I always end up drinking the soup too. However, the issue here is not the ramen itself, but the price. A bowl of ramen with hardly any toppings costs 980 yen! For men, it's almost necessary to get an extra serving of noodles for 210 yen to feel satisfied, bringing the total to 1190 yen, which is quite steep. It's a shame because it used to be more affordable.
【Food】
Ramen: 980 yen
Extra noodles: 210 yen
Ippudo is known for its tonkotsu soup, thin noodles, and secret sauce (spicy). I personally like to add a lot of the secret sauce to make it spicy... Today's ramen was delicious as always, with a simple yet tasty broth. The unique sweetness of the soup is addictive. However, the portion is small, so I think men would need the extra noodles. In that case, it's a 1190 yen ramen, which is tasty but pricey.
【Service】
Ippudo's service is mainly focused on minimizing interactions with others, so there's nothing particularly outstanding about it. It's neither unpleasant nor exceptional.
【Atmosphere】
The restaurant has partitions, creating a focused dining experience at each seat. The seating is only at the counter, which is quite normal. Due to the current situation with COVID-19, they are unable to remove the partitions between seats, so they seem to be catering only to those who are okay with dining individually.
【Value for Money】
It's undeniably delicious, but a simple bowl of ramen for 980 yen is quite expensive. Knowing that it used to be more affordable, I personally feel that the value for money is on the lower side.
【Drinks】
I just had water this time, so it's not included in the rating.

I received a gift of ramen, so I ate it right away. I was born in Fukuoka, Kyushu, so even though I am in Tokyo, I am familiar with it. Since I had some time constraints, I did not opt for extra noodles. (^_^)/ There are various ways to cook the noodles, such as hard or soft, with or without flour, but I prefer them cooked normally. ...haha If I had to say, I would be happy if they provided condiments like spicy mustard greens, pickled ginger, garlic sauce, sesame, etc. (^_^)/ Thank you for the meal. It's soul food.

Today, after going to the beauty salon, I stopped by Ichiran Ramen. Ichiran has always been good at social distancing, which is reassuring! Apparently, they have a patent for it. As for the ramen itself, I always get the extra noodles! (laughs) Personally, I can't do without the wood ear mushrooms. The flavor is delicious, and I like that you can customize it to your liking. Thank you for the meal!
