I dropped into this restaurant on a whim for a friend's farewell party as the second stop of the night, and it turned out to be a great find. Although it was already a bit late and some of the fish I wanted to try were sold out, the chef picked out some remaining fish for sashimi that were really high quality. The appetizer of sweet tofu was a delightful surprise and the sake selection was quite extensive, even beyond what was listed on the menu. The dishes were all meticulously prepared and served to perfectly complement the sake. The owner recommended finishing the meal with soba, but they source it from a nearby shop so it may not be available if you arrive too late. Overall, I would love to visit this restaurant again.

On Wednesday night, I made a reservation and visited with 3 former colleagues from my previous company. We were seated at a table on the second floor. The seating was not very comfortable as it was not a sunken kotatsu, but the atmosphere was calming and our conversation flowed easily. Since it had been a while since we last met, we were engrossed in conversation and didn't take any photos of the food. However, we ordered a sashimi platter, fried chicken, ham cutlet, dried Atka mackerel, stir-fried pork belly and bean sprouts with ponzu sauce, and more. We started with beer but switched to lemon sour afterwards and had about 3-4 drinks each. The food was delicious and served promptly, so we had a stress-free and enjoyable time. The only downside was that the variety of dishes was a bit limited.

The interior made me feel like I was eating at home, creating a very nice atmosphere. The dishes I ordered were: - Asahi Super Dry draft beer - Fresh oysters with ponzu sauce - Fried sardines with plum and shiso - Assorted sashimi, all very fresh and delicious - Grilled whole squid - Homemade thick fried tofu, crispy on the outside and flavorful - Beef tendon hot pot The ambiance of the restaurant made everything taste even better! We were seated on the second floor, which would be suitable for group gatherings or parties. It could be a great place for year-end parties as well!

First time drinking in Akabane, feeling excited while riding the Saikyo Line. It used to be necessary to transfer at Ikebukuro in the past, so it's become more convenient now. Passing through the 1st street and heading to the restaurant. The storefront looks quite nice, but it seems like they are operating in an old establishment with some minor renovations. The 1st floor has a counter and booth seats, like a countryside family restaurant or conveyor belt sushi place. The 2nd floor is a traditional Japanese-style tatami room, which I prefer in terms of atmosphere, but it's tough on the knees and back. It may be that I visited at a bad time, but despite Sado Island being their specialty, there was nothing from Sado on the menu. No sashimi options, no land-based dishes, and when I looked for Niigata specialties, I only found one piece of tofu from Tokamachi. Even the edamame served as a complimentary dish didn't have the distinctive flavor of Niigata. The assorted sashimi had flounder, scallop, octopus, all quite ordinary. The golden eye snapper had no fat, even though some fish in summer can have a good amount of it without needing special treatment. The horse mackerel fry was a hit, with a plump texture. I forgot to take a photo, but the horse mackerel fry was divided into two pieces from the middle as requested for sharing among three people. Despite it being the peak season for horse mackerel, the batter and the flesh had almost the same thickness, with supermarket deli options showing more care. The waitstaff were all cheerful and friendly, making a good impression, which is why it's a shame about the lack of variety in local and seasonal dishes. I don't necessarily want to eat crab in the summer, but it's disappointing that there were hardly any options from the local area at that time. Thank you for the meal.

This is a restaurant located diagonally across from Unagi no Kawaei-san, straight through the Okuyokocho in front of Akabane Station. The end of the year in Akabane is quite crowded, a big difference from the quiet streets three months ago. Even in the back, there are quite a lot of people, making it a bit worrying. I visited the 2nd floor of Rakushirakuza for a meal, which I knew of but had never been to before. We had seafood dishes and dried snacks, and enjoyed a seafood hot pot with ankimo as the base. The rich flavor of the ankimo was distinct and the zosui (rice porridge) was delicious as well. It was a very lively and enjoyable meal. The staff were friendly and had a good sense of humor, which made the experience even more enjoyable. It's not a special place, but I think it's a good spot. We enjoyed our meal, thank you.

Hello, I'm Table Tennis Girl! (^ω^) I went out with friends in Akabane in the morning and ended up drinking a lot. Around the third place, where my memory was starting to get a bit fuzzy, we were recommended a nice izakaya called Rakumachi Rakusa. The staff there were smart and pleasant, and the highball I ordered came quickly and was delicious. Since I wasn't very hungry, I just had edamame and potatoes this time. The potatoes were amazing - crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, with a taste that was a bit junk food-like but addictive. I would say that this kind of potato is the best for drinking at an izakaya. The edamame was also tender and tasty. The restaurant had a cool selection of shochu lined up and a variety of delicious small dishes. If only we had known earlier, we could have tried more dishes. It was a delicious and cozy izakaya.

We had a year-end party with friends in 2019♪ There were 7 of us in a private room, enjoying crab and yellowtail shabu-shabu. Each person got a whole crab, which was amazing! The shabu-shabu was the best, we were so focused on eating it. Every dish was really delicious, even the porridge at the end was tasty♪ It's hard for all of us to get together, but we had a fun and delicious time on this day with our close friends! Thank you for the meal!

Akabane's first landing! A delicious seafood izakaya. I had a drinking party in Akabane with friends from Taiwan who are temporarily back in Japan. There were many people I met for the first time, and everyone was fun. The organizer has been here a few times before. I didn't take pictures of everything, but the fish directly from Sado Island and the variety of sake were all delicious. The hormone yakitori was incredibly delicious, so I ordered it three times. Every time I tried to order sake, they would bring over a staff member to recommend something, but the mysterious old man didn't give any specific taste advice, which was funny (lol). I want to go back again!

A little off the bustling street, this place is great for a leisurely drink. It doesn't feel too much like Akabane, which I really like. I appreciate the attentive work of the chef!

The food was delicious. The sweet shrimp tempura was especially amazing. The only downside is that smoking is allowed, which may not be ideal for non-smokers.
