I still love this place! There are several places like this that everyone has, right? This is the place where my feet always seem to lead me. Even though I rarely have any business in the area, I find myself getting off at Harajuku station and taking a walk to this place. The owners have been running the place for many years, so they seem a bit tired lately. Recently, I heard that this place has been featured in foreign magazines, so there are more young women around. Today, I had lunch here. It was just perfect. The sauce was thin and had a demi-glace flavor. It was so light and delicious. Even the coffee after the meal was amazing.

I had some errands in Tokyo and decided to visit a cafe that I had been curious about with my friend. We ordered hot milk while being mindful of our caffeine intake, accompanied by the adorable dog, Marzipan. The cafe is run by a couple and the interior design and small details are very elaborate. They were also very kind and provided excellent customer service, making it an instant favorite spot for us. It's like a treasure trove of healing for both the mind and body. I can't wait to visit again soon! ♥

Hello, this is Baka Jita. Recently, my work has changed drastically, and I've been shouting about the metaverse. Despite that, I love fashion and clothes. I'm generally a quiet person who likes to spend my days peacefully. This restaurant was recommended to me by a partner in the fashionable work I will be doing in the future. It seems to be a famous local spot run by a lovely couple. The atmosphere is great, with an American diner vibe mixed with an old European underground feel. I was urged to try their famous Gumbo soup, so I ordered a bowl. In conclusion, it was amazing. It's a kind of soul food from the American South. On a day like today, with cold rain falling, it's nice to warm both the heart and body with this kind of soup. It's good.

This cafe restaurant plays jazz music and has a vibe that captures the atmosphere of the Heisei era. While the cuisine is Western, it has its own unique twist that makes it easy to enjoy. Reflecting the Shibuya culture of backstreets Harajuku and Omotesando, this place is loved by those in publishing and creative industries. Regular customers chat with the master about the jazz playing in the background. Those who discovered the place on social media seem to come for the photogenic sweets.

This is a cafe located in a back alley near the shrine. The ceiling inside is made of glass, allowing sunlight to come in and creating a greenhouse-like feel with potted plants. Towards the back, there are two spaces - one with a slightly dimmer lighting and a calm atmosphere, perfect for relaxing. I tried the Chestnut Cream Cake for 350 yen, Chamomile tea for 400 yen, and Marzipan for 450 yen. The cute Marzipan dog on top of the cake is recommended for taking photos with your drink or cake! You can choose from various expressions of the Marzipan dogs displayed on a tray. Although I initially placed the Marzipan dog on the cake for a photo, I had to separate them to eat. The cake is a simple combination of sponge and chestnut cream with a subtle adult taste due to the hint of liquor. The prices for drinks and cakes are reasonable, which is nice. The menu for meals was also extensive! The atmosphere was great, allowing for a leisurely tea time.

This is a café run by a couple in the Omotesando area. Their Instagram-worthy marzipan is popular! The café is a bit hidden, but the interior is bright and open with a glass ceiling. The mother, known as "Tokyo's mom," and the father in charge of cooking. After serving, they stepped back, so I didn't understand why she's called "mom" but it made for a relaxed atmosphere. ---------------------------------- ◆Marzipan 450 yen ◆Decaf Coffee 350 yen Isn't it cheap? Are you sure? Coffee and milk-based drinks are reasonably priced starting at 350 yen. Decaf coffee is also a good deal without any additional charges. Surprisingly, they also have a good selection of alcoholic drinks. Marzipan is a confection made by grinding sugar and almonds together. You can choose your favorite marzipan from a tray. It's called Cook Dog. It has a silly face and is cute. It seems popular to take photos of it on cups or cakes. It has a unique taste like sweet bean paste, but that's what it's supposed to be. I had some new discoveries, enjoyed taking photos, and had a fun time. ---------------------------------- Rating: 3.22 as of November 2021 Number of reviews: 26

In the morning, they only offer cake and drinks, so I ordered Pot de Crème. They poured brandy over it. It was a smooth and rich dessert. The interior of the restaurant is lovely, and the staff are amazing. The conversation kept flowing and it felt like being with family even though it was my first time there. I feel like I want to come back. Next time, I definitely want to try the soup! Thank you for the meal.

The Cook Dog's marzipan is adorable. It's nice that they let you choose which dog you want, each with different patterns and expressions. The shop is hidden in a back alley near Jingumae, making it a bit hard to find at first glance. Once inside, the elderly couple running the shop warmly welcomed me and suggested a popular seat with a glass ceiling, creating a bright and cozy atmosphere. I ordered a chocolate cake, a cafe au lait, and the marzipan Cook Dog. The pot de creme caught my eye, so I also ordered that. The pot de creme had a hint of brandy, giving it a sophisticated flavor. The Cook Dog was fun to photograph and tasted great on top of the cake or in the coffee. The owner, who used to be the chef at the Consulate General of Frankfurt's residence, clearly has skills. The menu is handed to you when you enter, but it's also written on a blackboard outside. The eel kabayaki pilaf caught my attention, especially at 900 yen. The shop is open from 8:00 onwards and is located in an area known as "Back Harajuku".

A hidden gem of a café located between Omotesando and Gaienmae. It's easy to miss while walking down the street. Despite being in the heart of the city, once you step inside the café, you'll be greeted by bright sunlight and a calm atmosphere. The menu offers a variety of dishes and desserts, but this time I tried the café. They have 4-5 types of cakes, and the chocolate cake is rich and delicious! It's like a Sachertorte! The marzipan dog on top of the cake is popular and many people were ordering it, either on their cake or on their café latte. It's a delicious, cute, and relaxing café.

In October 2020, I realized I never reviewed the eel pilaf I had eaten... So, in honor of the Midsummer Day of the Ox, I will share my thoughts now. I visited J-cook near Omotesando. Last time, I got lost but this time I found it easily. I wanted to have a proper meal, so I ordered the famous eel kabayaki pilaf, some wine (I could still drink at night back then), and for dessert, truffles. It was a great selection. The combination of eel and red wine was surprisingly good. The eel pilaf had finely chopped bell peppers and had a western twist to it. The touch of sansho pepper was nice. I wish I had ordered more because I'm a big eater... I chose a French wine, but I'm not sure about the grape variety. The wine had a good amount of tannins, which paired well with the slightly muddy taste of the eel. I think a spicy wine like Syrah or Grenache would also work well. The truffles after the meal were available individually, perfect for when you crave something sweet. When things settle down, I'd like to walk around and try other dishes too. Maybe next time I'll go for the Gumbo Spaghetti. It's really a great café. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

It had been a while since I wanted to visit this place, so I set out from Harajuku and walked towards it... However, since I had only been there once before a long time ago, I couldn't remember exactly how to get there. Therefore, I walked while looking at Google Maps. Along the way, I was a bit confused thinking, "Was this the right way?" but I followed the directions and eventually found it. Later, I found out that this route was apparently for intermediate level walkers!? I revisited without much delay, and this time, I went straight from Omotesando to the road between Marimekko and a primary school, then turned right when I saw Natural Lawson, and that's how I remembered the way. Now I won't get lost! The reason I wanted to go to this place was because someone else had posted about the dog-shaped marzipan and I really wanted to try it! I managed to find my way there, and I entered the store. A lovely lady welcomed me and guided me to a seat in the back, where I found a cozy atmosphere with antique lamps and tables, giving off a charming vibe like a room in a foreign apartment. I sat at a large table, looked at the menu, and ordered the dog-shaped marzipan along with a coffee. If I had been hungry, I would have wanted to try the eel pilaf, but that will be for next time (I will review it separately later). The lady mentioned that the marzipan comes in different faces, so I chose the dog in the middle. The marzipan dog on a tray was brought to me, and it was very intricately made. It felt a bit raw at first, which was different from the crispy texture I remembered from eating marzipan on top of Christmas cakes as a child. However, it was delicious with a chewy softness like gum. The coffee was also refreshing and tasty. On my way out, the lady asked me where I came from, and I explained it to her. She said, "Ah, that's the intermediate level route," which made me realize it. Thanks to her, I didn't get lost on my way back. Next time, I plan to go back for a meal and try the eel pilaf. It was a delightful experience. Thank you for the meal.

Located on the Killer Street, near the intersection of Jingumae San-chome, is the old-fashioned French café terrace J-COOK. This hidden gem has been around for decades and is known for its stylish and cozy atmosphere. The interior resembles a semi-basement garage with natural light filtering through the cloudy glass ceiling, creating a pleasant ambiance. I ordered an iced coffee for 450 yen [tax included] to escape the sudden rain and harsh heat. J-COOK offers a variety of options from tea, cakes, and light meals to lunch, alcohol, and dinner in a casual and homely setting.

I came to the restaurant with a friend to try their famous pancakes. The atmosphere was very cozy and the staff were friendly. The interior had a retro feel with warm wooden decor. The dogs can take their time choosing what they like. I enjoyed a hot cocoa that was not too sweet and had a nice cocoa aroma. I felt comfortable dining alone here and would like to visit again solo next time.

The cafe latte atmosphere is very cute. The back seats and the seats near the entrance have completely different atmospheres, which is interesting. The back seats are dimly lit and have a calm atmosphere like a traditional cafe. The seats near the entrance are bright and have a stylish cafe atmosphere. It's comfortable, so I would like to visit again when I'm nearby.

The use for a gathering. Various items were provided like a course meal. They kept serving until we were full. Starting from a cheese platter to pasta, meat, mussels, everything was delicious. After finishing everything, we had dessert. A traditional French dessert, a pudding-like dish, seemed to be their specialty. It was also delicious.

A foodie friend visited this place after seeing my Instagram post about the cute marzipan here. Despite looking at the map on Tabelog, they missed the shop and walked past it with two others. They eventually found it after turning back. The interior was different from the exterior, with skylights and a greenery-filled cafe vibe. The back area was dimly lit, resembling a bar. It was a pleasant surprise to find such a lovely cafe in this unexpected location. We chose to sit in the dark room to avoid smoking. The elderly couple running the place had a warm and friendly demeanor. It was incredibly charming. I hope to grow old like them someday. We ordered a drink that would look good on Instagram, a hot milk for 350 yen and marzipan for 400 yen. The marzipan for dogs came on a tray, allowing us to choose our preferred dog design. Even if you don't look closely, the dogs' faces are quite different. The silly faces were also adorable. Placing the marzipan on the cup of hot milk looked cute. The hot milk was creamy and delicious, a treat to drink after a long time. Despite being in Omotesando, the atmosphere was so lovely that you could stay for a while. The hot milk for 350 yen was such a great deal! I would love to visit again when I'm in the area.

A friend suggested going to a cafe that caught their attention on Instagram after dinner, so I went along. The cafe was a bit hidden away from Omotesando and easy to miss if you didn't know about it. But once inside, it was filled with greenery and sunlight streaming in from the ceiling, giving it a slightly retro vibe. The reason it caught my friend's eye became clear - marzipan doggies everywhere! I ordered an iced coffee, while my friend got a hot milk and a cafe latte. The marzipan doggies were brought on a tray, allowing us to choose our favorite one. The iced coffee had a gentle and soothing flavor that seemed to reflect the kind hearts of the owners. The marzipan doggies were served on a separate plate, each with a cute and slightly silly expression that reminded me of my old silly dog. The cafe has been open for over 30 years and is beloved by locals as a longstanding establishment. The background music was light jazz, creating an elegant atmosphere. They also offer meal options like sandwiches and spaghetti. I was touched by the warmth of the owners and thought I would like to visit again sometime.

After eating a parfait, I visited a shop that I had been curious about since seeing it on Instagram before. It was a bit difficult to find using the navigation system, and I ended up passing by the shop. The exterior is not very noticeable, so it might be a bit confusing. I called ahead to confirm the availability of the dog-shaped marzipan that I was interested in. The shop is run by an elderly couple and has a calm and stylish atmosphere. It was quite crowded. When I mentioned the dog-shaped marzipan, they brought it to my table. You can choose marzipan with different dog expressions one by one. I ordered a hot cafe au lait for 450 yen and the dog-shaped marzipan for 450 yen. It was incredibly cute and nice! The shop is calming, and I would love to visit again. Thank you for the meal!

I was taken by a friend to this restaurant located in a secluded area that I probably wouldn't have found on my own. It was run by a lovely couple who shared interesting stories with us. The interior of the restaurant was also very charming, and I particularly liked the restroom. The lunch started with a delicious soup and ended with a creme brulee recommended by my friend. Overall, it was great value for money and I definitely want to go back again.
