Before visiting DiverCity, I checked the floor guide and confirmed that there is a Mister Donut (Mister Donut) store there. I was thinking it had food menu items like soup soba, so I was looking forward to having lunch at Mister Donut after a long time. However, when I visited, I realized that it was a standalone store, not in the food court (I mistakenly thought it was in the food court because it was on the same 2nd floor!). Since I was almost certain about using the food court, I had to give up on having lunch and decided to get some donuts to go. The store seemed new and shiny, but it was quite crowded, especially during lunchtime. The staff seemed to be understaffed, as there was even a notice about it, so I waited in line along the wall for a while. The seating area was mostly full, and it might be a bit stressful to eat while being stared at by people waiting in line next to you. After about 10 minutes of waiting, I finally reached the counter to order my donuts! The lineup was inside the store, so I didn't mind the heat. However, the weak signal made it difficult to use my cashless payment apps, and I had left my wallet behind, so I broke into a cold sweat. I was interested in trying the "White Pon De Ring" and got the usual Old Fashioned for my husband, as well as a "Chocolate" donut since I thought it would hold up well in the hot weather (it's a chocolate-flavored donut, not chocolate-coated, so I thought it would be relatively tasty in the hot season). I presented my Rakuten Point card and Mitsui Shopping Park Point card at the register. I tried to pay with Rakuten Pay, but due to the signal issues, the app wouldn't open. The staff suggested going outside to see if it would connect, so I quickly went outside (just outside the tenant) and managed to connect, then hurried back inside to pay. It's convenient that DiverCity as a whole mostly supports cashless payments, but it's inconvenient that the signal strength varies depending on the tenant (maybe due to the crowds). After completing the payment, I received the donuts in a paper bag and left DiverCity. Odaiba was surprisingly crowded, despite some people saying it's no longer popular. VenusFort may be gone, but DiverCity is still lively! I will enjoy the donuts later. As expected, they still looked delicious even in the hot weather. The White Pon De Ring seemed to be quite popular, and it was interesting to see it become a regular menu item. The White Pon De Ring series that I purchased is apparently limited edition, but based on the buzz, it might become a regular item. Besides the plain one I bought, there were several other flavors like Mitarashi-style! According to the official website, the "soft, chewy!" White Pon De Ring was indeed softer and chewier than the regular Pon De Ring, perhaps due to tapioca flour (not confirmed). It was mostly enjoyed by children, and they seemed to like it, so I thought it would be nice to try it again while it's still on sale! The Chocolate donut I bought was a standard choice, and it had been a while since I had one (I tend to go for the Double Chocolate or Pon De Chocolat when using lucky bag vouchers, opting for slightly more expensive ones). I was a bit surprised by its size. When I placed it next to the Old Fashioned donut for comparison, it looked almost like a mini donut. It seems like they have been getting smaller over time, which was a bit disappointing in terms of appearance (but it still tasted delicious as always). On the other hand, the Old Fashioned donut didn't seem to have changed much in size. My husband is a fan of the standard donuts, so he chose the regular Old Fashioned, but there were also Honey and Cinnamon variations, which made me realize the surprising popularity of the Old Fashioned donut once again. Personally, I don't usually choose those options, but the Old Fashioned donut, which remains melt-free and satisfying, might actually be unbeatable in the summer (laughs). I unexpectedly ended up reevaluating the Old Fashioned donut and its appeal!
