Within walking distance of the neighborhood, we planned to have lunch at a new restaurant. On this day, my companion expressed a clear preference for "miso ramen," so I searched for options. I found this place in Shinjuku, with decent reviews from everyone. We walked there to check it out. 1. Exterior, atmosphere, interior: It's about a 7-minute walk from Shinjuku Station West Exit, located in a corner of an electronics retail street. The building is bigger than I expected, with a noticeable yellow and red façade. The interior is smaller than expected, with only counter seats. Due to the current situation, there are transparent vinyl curtains between the kitchen and seating area, and minimal items on the tables. The place is clean, and even a woman dining alone wouldn't feel out of place. 2. Food: There were several types of miso ramen to choose from. I decided on the "Rich Combination Miso" with my favorite "flavored egg" topping. I handed the food ticket to the staff, and they quickly stir-fried vegetables like bean sprouts and cabbage in a wok. The aroma of garlic and lard whetted my appetite. Soon, a hot bowl was served. The soup had a balanced flavor with the essence of miso, not too strong nor too weak. It's a safe and likable taste, which I personally enjoy. The thick curly noodles lifted the rich miso soup well and had a nice wheat aroma. They were chewy, providing a satisfying texture. The toppings included stir-fried vegetables, wood ear mushrooms, seaweed, seasoned bamboo shoots, green onions, and the flavored egg. A well-rounded selection of toppings that complemented the miso ramen well. It was a fulfilling meal. 3. Staff: There were two men in the kitchen dividing cooking and serving tasks. Their greetings, seating guidance, and overall service were good. They were friendly and energetic, and I didn't notice any issues. 4. Value for money: We enjoyed a well-balanced miso ramen near Shinjuku Station. The portion size was good, and the staff's service was pleasant. I believe it offers good value for money. 5. Other notes: My companion had the "White Miso Ramen," which had a gentle sweetness and a different flavor profile. Next time, I might try the spicy miso ramen.

After work, before the race, the last ramen. I found this place while running and was curious, so I tried it. They have red miso and white miso, but I couldn't decide, so I went with the mixed miso. You can add extra noodles. Of course, I asked for extra. The ramen that was served had a nice mix. The hot soup enhances the miso aroma. The flavored egg was delicious too. The oil was just right and didn't make me feel heavy. It was delicious. I will come back to eat again.

I visited on a Saturday afternoon. I was in the mood for ramen, specifically miso ramen, so I was looking for a place in Shinjuku that serves miso ramen. Some popular options in Shinjuku include Menya Sho, Kitanodaichi, and Hachiro Shoten, but I decided to try a place on the Koshu Kaido side that I haven't explored much before. I chose the special miso ramen with a rich miso base that comes with toppings like chashu, boiled egg, seaweed, and corn. The soup was rich and flavorful, not too spicy. If you prefer spicy miso ramen, they also have a spicy miso option. The base of the soup seemed to be pork bone, resulting in a rich flavor. The curly noodles complemented the soup well. The chashu was delicious, with a nice charred flavor and tender texture. I would like to try their white and red miso ramen next time. I will definitely visit again when craving miso ramen in Shinjuku. Thank you for the meal.

I felt like having ramen out of the blue, so I decided to go to Jyumiya, a place I had been curious about for a while. This shop seems to have four base flavors: awase miso, red miso, white miso, and spicy miso. Today, I wanted to feel the strong taste of miso, so I chose the red miso! Soon, the bowl arrived. I took a sip of the soup. Yes, it's rich and delicious! This is just my taste!! The noodles were easy to eat. What I liked the most was the soup!! I feel like trying the other types like awase miso, white miso, and spicy miso in the future at this ramen shop near the station. There are many famous shops nearby, but I think I will continue to visit this one regularly!! Thank you for the meal!

I have never encountered a miso ramen that wasn't delicious, so it's hard to evaluate, but this one was also tasty. The vegetables were grilled, giving a nice fragrant accent. The large portion was free and satisfying in terms of volume. It seems like this will continue to be a lunch option in Shinjuku.

When I went to Shinjuku and wanted to have miso ramen for dinner, I searched and chose this place. It's located on a main street and close to the station, so it was easy to get to. It was my first time, so I probably should have tried the simple miso ramen, but I ended up craving spiciness due to the heat. It was rich and had a good level of spiciness, and it was delicious.

After having a few drinks in Shinjuku, I felt like eating ramen and decided to visit this restaurant that I had been curious about. I ordered the special miso ramen. When it arrived, I slurped the soup and it was rich and delicious! The char siu was nicely seared and melted in my mouth when combined with the soup and noodles, creating a great flavor. The noodles were curly and mixed well with the soup. Personally, I would have preferred it a bit spicier, but I think I can request "red miso" or "spicy miso" next time. I look forward to trying it again in the future.

The inside was surprisingly spacious compared to the outside. There are only counter seats. I ordered the Assari Miso Ramen in large size. The large size is about 200g, which is quite generous. The first thing I tried was the vegetables, and they had a delicious charred aroma as if they were grilled over charcoal! The soup is a bit on the salty side but it's so tasty that I could drink it all up. The noodles are smooth and on the shorter side, so you can easily eat them without slurping too much. The egg is closer to hard-boiled than soft-boiled. The chashu wasn't the melt-in-your-mouth type. I will definitely come back!

Miso Ramen Jyuumi-ya Shinjuku Red Miso Ramen ¥800 I had some errands to run in Shinjuku on this day, so I decided to stop by this restaurant! As expected in Shinjuku, the service was quick and efficient, and I got my ramen promptly. The soup was gentle and the noodles were topped with a soft-boiled egg! Personally, I prefer thicker noodles, but this miso ramen had a Hokkaido-like flavor! Thank you for the meal.

Head to Jumaiya for miso ramen at the west exit of Shinjuku Station. Enjoy a hot bowl of miso ramen on a hot day. Menu options include blended miso, white miso, red miso, and spicy miso. I purchased a ticket for the blended miso flavored ramen with a seasoned egg. All menu options come with a free large serving, making it a great deal. The blended miso ramen with a seasoned egg (regular size) is visually rich with toppings such as bamboo shoots, wood ear mushrooms, seaweed, vegetables, chashu, and a seasoned egg. Despite its rich appearance, the soup has a gentle flavor that allows you to savor the deliciousness of the miso. It is rich, but the smooth taste of the miso stands out. Adding seven spice blend enhances the deliciousness and gentleness of the dish. The curly thick noodles in the soup are firm and satisfying. A miso ramen that you can drink to the last drop. Thank you for the meal.

Egg over noodles: 850 yen Regular size (large size available for free) Even without soup, the miso flavor packs a punch! Mix well with the noodles and vegetables like bean sprouts. Adding a raw egg makes the noodles mild and easy to eat. You can fully enjoy the miso flavor, so even those who usually leave soup behind may find they don't need it from the start.

Located about a 3-minute walk from Shinjuku Station West Exit, this restaurant is on the 1st floor along Koshu Kaido. Customers purchase their meal tickets at the entrance ticket machine and then take a seat at the counter. Not being a huge fan of miso ramen, I decided to try something mild. Among options like "Spicy Miso Ramen" and "Mixed Miso Ramen," I chose the "White Miso Ramen." As expected, it had a mild flavor, but still had a strong salty taste. The soup was rich, with a refreshing sweetness from the green onions. The noodles were thin to medium thickness with a strong yellow hue. Given the hearty soup, having noodles with this level of personality was a good match. The area sees many foreign tourists, who seem to enjoy the ramen using chopsticks and slurping quietly. While Japan offers a wide variety of ramen flavors, the uniquely distinct miso ramen genre left me curious about what impression it left on them as I left the restaurant.

In Shinjuku, I arrived at the ramen shop Jumaiya around 11:30 am. The shop was almost full, so I waited at the counter after purchasing a ticket from the machine. I ordered the special miso ramen with half rice, and after about 5-6 minutes, it arrived. The soup was rich and flavorful, and the toppings included seasoned egg, pork, bamboo shoots, wood ear mushrooms, seaweed, corn, bean sprouts, and green onions. The noodles were medium-thin and paired well with the soup. It was a delicious miso ramen that also went well with the rice. I enjoyed it until the last bite.

Visited for lunch on Saturday. Ordered the special red miso ramen in large size with extra vegetables and rice. It was served in about 5 minutes. However, I noticed something off... oh, there was no garlic! It was my first visit, but I read on Tabelog reviews that there should be garlic and a jar of shichimi spice. There was something similar to shichimi, but no garlic. Personally, I think garlic is a must for miso ramen. It was a bit disappointing, but I tried the soup. It was decent. But I still wanted garlic (I'm persistent, haha). The extra vegetables were a good choice, they were well-cooked and tasty. The oily chashu was also good. I noticed that many people around me ordered chashu ramen. The noodles had no special characteristics, the seasoned egg was average. The chashu was delicious, but overall, I'm not sure if I would come back again.

Miso ramen with extra noodles (free of charge) for 800 yen. The soup was a standard miso flavor, but a bit salty. The noodles were medium thickness and matched well with the soup. The bean sprouts were fragrant and delicious. The chashu was thin and there was only one slice, so the extra noodles didn't come with enough meat. I had recently eaten thick chashu at a Kitakata ramen shop, so maybe that's why I felt this way. In conclusion, the miso ramen was tasty, but the lack of chashu made it just average in terms of satisfaction.

Shinjuku's "Miso Ramen Togemiya Shinjuku". As the name suggests, it is a miso ramen specialty shop, pronounced as "Togemiya". Surprisingly, it has been around since 1971 as a pioneer of Hokkaido miso ramen under the name "Ishikarigawa Ramen". In 2002, it was rebranded as the current shop, focusing on miso ramen and original condiment "Togemi". It's interesting how long it has been in Shinjuku, yet I had no idea about it... This is what makes Shinjuku fascinating. It is located along the Koshu Kaido at the west exit. You purchase a meal ticket and hand it to the staff, who also ask if you want to upsize. Since this is my third stop today, I decline. - Spicy Miso Ramen 750 yen Stir-fried vegetables, menma, wood ear mushrooms, nori, green onions, and seared chashu, all cooked vigorously in a pot over high heat. You can smell the faint aroma of lard. The soup is surprisingly light with a decent amount of animal ingredients. As a miso ramen, it's somewhat mild in flavor. The curly noodles are firm and chewy. The seared chashu crumbles easily when picked up with chopsticks. It's unusual to have wood ear mushrooms in miso ramen. Perhaps it's for a variation in texture. I ordered the spicy miso, but it's not spicy at all. The actual dish looks a bit different from the photo, and the miso ramen turned out to be quite mild. Thank you for the meal. ※On my blog, I introduce many other restaurants as well. I decided to come here because I wanted to eat ramen with a solid taste near Shinjuku Station. I arrived around 12:00 and the restaurant was full, so I bought a ticket outside and waited. There were so many attractive menu options that I couldn't decide quickly. Inside, all seats were at the counter, so it's a great place for a quick solo meal. The staff were friendly, and I definitely want to come back again.

The soup is delicious. It's not overpowering, but easy to drink and I almost finished it without realizing. It was advertised as being free for a larger portion, so I opted for the larger size. However, personally, I feel like it's more of a regular size portion. For growing young men, it might be a bit lacking.

I had miso dipping noodles. Miso ramen is delicious, but unfortunately the dipping noodles were not good. It made me realize that everyone has their strengths and weaknesses. Next time, I will definitely go for ramen without hesitation. Today was just an unlucky day.

On weekends after 1 pm, there was no wait at the restaurant. I ordered a rich miso ramen with flavored egg for 900 yen, and added extra vegetables for 150 yen. You can choose between regular or large size for free. It took about 5 minutes for the ramen to arrive. The miso flavor in the soup was strong, but not too rich. It had a light and tasty broth with a good miso flavor. The stir-fried vegetables like bean sprouts and onions were crunchy, and the medium-thick curly noodles were chewy and transparent. The portion was already generous, and adding extra vegetables made me quite full. The soup wasn't heavy, so I enjoyed it until the last bite. Considering the location near Shinjuku station and the flavored egg included, the price was reasonable. It was a delicious miso ramen that left me satisfied. Thank you for the meal!

I finally encountered a delicious miso ramen after a long time. The miso flavor was perfect! The curly noodles were also great with the miso. The soup didn't make my throat feel spicy, and I wanted to savor every last drop. I enjoyed it until the very end without getting tired of it.
