♪ Jin Jin Jingle Genghis Khan ♬ Heeraita Horaita Heeraita Inmawaita ♫
As I was walking along Asakusa International Street, I heard that nostalgic song coming from somewhere. The song is called Genghis Khan. This song is often used in children's play events, so I quite like it. ( ´∀`) The place where the music was playing turned out to be a Genghis Khan restaurant. How predictable. (^^) Momentum is important, right? Maybe because of this song, I suddenly felt like eating Genghis Khan, and I ended up walking into the restaurant on the music's beat! (^_^;)
I was greeted by a cute and lovely female staff member, even though I could tell through her mask. The service was really nice. ✨ Genghis Khan is a Hokkaido specialty dish where you grill lamb meat with plenty of vegetables. Here, they grill it gorgeously over charcoal. The charcoal used is Oga charcoal, made from sawdust produced during wood processing. It is made using the same method as white charcoal and is quite similar in performance. The Oga charcoal burning brightly red with the Genghis Khan pot on top. The sight is powerful and raises expectations.
For this meal, I ordered draft beer (Sapporo Black Label), bottled beer (Sapporo Black Label), raw lamb, Nagano Genghis Khan (large serving), vegetable platter, and salted cabbage. I chose Sapporo Black Label for both draft and bottled beer. Personally, I really like Sapporo beer the most. ( ´∀`) It's really delicious. ✨
Now, onto the Genghis Khan. First, the lamb meat sizzled on the dome-shaped Genghis Khan pot, then they grilled the raw lamb meat on the upper part of the pot. The surrounding grooves were used to grill the vegetables. That's the order, I think? Just one thing to note, be careful not to let the vegetables fall into the pot, or it will get covered in ash. (^_^;)
I tried the raw lamb meat first, and I was honestly surprised. I've never had lamb meat like this before. ( ´∀`) It has a unique taste, and some people find lamb meat difficult to eat, but this raw lamb is truly exquisite! It has no gamey taste and only the deliciousness of lamb meat. It's really delicious. ✨ My previous concept of lamb meat has completely disappeared. This is something I can recommend even to those who are not fond of lamb meat.
Next, the Nagano Genghis Khan (large serving) was a pre-seasoned lamb meat that I had purchased online from Hokkaido before. It's seasoned, and it's good, but the impact of the raw lamb was just too strong... It seemed a bit dull in comparison. I should have ordered more of the raw lamb... (^_^;) The vegetables also absorb the meat juices, creating a flavor like a stir-fry of meat and vegetables. It's really delicious. ✨
The bean sprouts were refillable, which was lucky because I could eat a lot of them. (^^) Instead of a salad, the salted cabbage was also good. By chance, I ended up at "Marugoto Hokkaido" on a whim, and I had a really good experience tasting fresh raw lamb meat. (^^) Furthermore, lamb meat is a healthy ingredient with moderate calories, so it has its benefits. ✨
As I was leaving, I thanked the lovely female staff member as always, and she even gave me a voucher for a complimentary drink, so I was even more satisfied. ( ´∀`) I definitely want to come back again. Thank you for the meal. m(_ _)m
