A restaurant outside Tsukiji Market selling eel. They have a lovely sign for the midsummer day of the Ox all year round. I ordered eel skewers for a quick bite. The taste is not great, maybe it could be improved with some sansho pepper. The liver is too rich and the fatty taste is overpowering, lacking in umami and bitterness. But it's cheap, so it's understandable. Perhaps it's a shop targeting foreign tourists as eel is popular overseas now.

Eel skewer for 200 yen. It's interesting to eat eel on a skewer while walking around because it's not often you come across eel. The eel is crispy but lacks a juicy texture. It's good to eat as is without rice. The price is reasonable.

When I was strolling around Tsukiji Market with a friend from overseas, we stumbled upon this restaurant. The smell of grilled eel at the storefront lured us in. It was a weekday, so the restaurant was not crowded. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We ordered the No.5 Unaju "Jo" from the menu. It was incredibly delicious. The price was reasonable too. We were very satisfied.

On September 12, 2023 (Tuesday), the next stop is here, at "Tsukiji Unagi Shokudo" restaurant. Four people's feet come to a halt, because it's an eel skewer restaurant. Despite the low prices, there is quite a bit of concern. ☆Eel skewers♬︎ As expected, the taste is mediocre. The meat is thin. It's mushy. There are bones. Ah, just as expected. Alright, next!

I was worried about the taste because it was only 400 yen, which is cheap for eel, but it was incredibly delicious. It was piping hot, tender, and flavorful. The scallops were also tasty with a rich flavor, but personally, I recommend the eel.

Tsukiji food tasting (^^) Many temptations line up in front of the shops. At Tsukiji Unagi Shokudo, one eel skewer costs 400 yen, but you can get 3 for 1,000 yen, so I went for the 3. I ordered a beer, an eel skewer, and an eel liver skewer and started eating while standing in front of the shop. The eel liver skewer had a sweet and bitter taste that went well with beer. The eel skewer was plump and tender. Both were delicious! You can either eat the skewers standing in front of the shop, or sit inside and enjoy an eel bowl slowly. I thought there wouldn't be much of a crowd in the morning, but by around 10 o'clock, a line had formed. Tsukiji is amazing. If you plan to visit, I highly recommend coming in the morning. Thank you for the meal!

When I tried to eat eel, scallops, and liver in a restaurant where eel is delicious and cost-effective, I was told it was not allowed. I couldn't hear very well, but I realized that there were many foreigners and the inbound tourism had returned.

The eel skewers can be enjoyed for 300 yen each. They are crispy, tender, and delicious. The eel skewers were served quickly, but when ordering a beer set, the beer took too long to be served. It seemed like they were doing something in the back, but they need to be quicker in order to sell more beer sets.

I was lured by the smell of eel being grilled at the storefront and impulsively entered the restaurant. I chose the luxurious eel rice bowl, and it was grilled perfectly and delicious. The eel was probably not domestically produced, but the taste was satisfying! The portion size was also sufficient.

Thank you for always liking my posts ヽ(・∀・)ノ [Eating around Tsukiji Outer Market] I was invited by my boss to go eating around Tsukiji Outer Market with two colleagues. We left Yokohama by car around 8:00 in the morning and arrived at Tsukiji Outer Market after 9:00. We used a nearby parking lot. We bought some grilled eel skewers for our food tour. Honestly, it's not something that should be rated in any particular way. However, the display of eels at the storefront was impressive, and the prices were unbelievably cheap. Most of the staff and customers seemed to be foreigners, creating a foreign atmosphere with different languages being spoken. It's more of an "eel" or "unagi" restaurant. They also seem to be available on UberEATS, making it easy to enjoy Tsukiji's eel. Thank you for the meal!

I came across grilled eel skewers while walking again! I wanted to try the Kurikara-yaki, but it seems they don't have it, so I ordered eel skewers instead (^-^) What I ordered: Eel skewers, Grilled eel liver. I always make a reservation for grilled eel liver when I go to an eel restaurant because it's my favorite, so I had it along with the eel skewers (^-^) The eel was the Kansai-style type that is not steamed, and it definitely goes well with skewers. The grilled eel liver had a unique bitterness to it, which I find delicious, and it tastes even better when eaten on a skewer (^-^) I think it pairs perfectly with Japanese sake. Thank you for the meal m(_ _)m

I went to this restaurant for the second round after having enough tuna at the first place. The smell of grilled eel lured me in, and I decided to try this place. They offered a deal where you can eat inside if you order five or more skewers. You can choose your favorite skewers, and they will lightly grill them for you. The staff seemed to be Chinese. Although I had high hopes because of the enticing smell, the taste was just average, considering the price. If I had to pick, the yellowtail was the most delicious.

I've been curious about this place for a while. It's right in the middle of Tsukiji Outer Market, and I thought their specialty was eel skewers, but they also offer eel rice bowls and eel rice boxes. The restaurant has about 10 seats, so you can also dine in. Today, I decided to get a takeaway, so I hurried to Tsukiji at 2:45 PM. The restaurant closes at 3 PM, and they had 20 servings left of their 1,100 yen eel rice bowl. I ordered one for takeaway. I waited for about 7-8 minutes for it to be cooked, and I was surprised. Despite the low price, the quality was quite good. When I got home and opened the lid, I found a beautifully arranged bento box. It's true that it's different from the eel in Ginza, but for this price, I think it's quite satisfactory. With the current high prices of domestic eel, I personally think it's totally okay. The rice was a bit lacking in flavor, though. If the rice was tasty, this would be a very satisfying meal for 1,100 yen. Thank you for the meal!

I had been to this restaurant a few times in the past, and while the prices were decent, the food was just okay for the price. However, this time, even though it was cheap, the quality was so low that I'd rather pay more and eat elsewhere. I don't think I'll be coming back again. If you're not too picky about taste, you might find it okay for the price.

The interior of Tsukiji Market has disappeared, leaving only the word "outside market", but it is still crowded with tourists from foreign countries during the day. In one corner, there is a long and narrow eel shop that looks like a eel's sleeping place. Although I hesitate to call it an eel shop, as there is no way to confirm it since it is not inspected by the health department, I will introduce it as an "eel shop" based on the fact that the shop advertises eel. I ordered the "Tsukiji eel rice bowl" (1080 yen including tax) and "eel liver soup" (100 yen). All the staff in the shop seem to be Chinese. It feels a bit strange to eat eel, which can be considered a representative of Japanese cuisine, at a Chinese-run shop, but the prices are really cheap. The eel rice bowl comes with eel cut into strips on top of rice, similar to hitsumabushi. It is limited to 20 servings, but I was able to order it after 1:30 PM, so many tourists seem to buy eel skewers and eat them while walking around. The eel is grilled over charcoal on the other side of the counter. The selling point of the eel is the crispy skin, but the skin here is a bit too burnt. It is black and not very attractive. However, it is fluffy and has a typical eel aroma when eaten. The sauce is not soaked in, so it tastes like a cross between grilled and white eel. The sauce is not too sweet, which is a good point. The eel liver soup has a good broth, but the atmosphere makes you wonder if it is really eel. However, for 1080 yen, being able to fill up on something that resembles eel, it's probably best not to delve too deep into it.

I will be traveling for a business trip with a packed schedule of meetings, seminars, and networking events. I will be taking the early train to Tokyo for a morning meeting, but before that, I plan to enjoy some food walking in Tsukiji. The fourth stop on my food tour will be this popular restaurant, known for its scallops, eel, and various seafood skewers. I ordered the "eel skewer" and it was quickly grilled and served to me. It was light and delicious, with a Kanto-style flavor. Thank you for the meal.

For the fifth stop on my Tsukiji Outer Market food tour, I decided to try the eel skewers at a place I had visited before. There was quite a crowd gathered, with many foreigners in line. It was a bit confusing to figure out where the line started due to the congestion. I ordered an eel skewer for 200 yen, which is a great deal for this kind of food tour. The eel portion was a bit small, but for 200 yen, it was satisfying. There was a slight hint of fishy smell. The sauce was on the thick side. It was entertaining to watch them grilling the eel right in front of the store, which attracted many foreigners taking photos. This place seems to be popular among visitors doing the Tsukiji Outer Market food tour. Thank you for the meal.

Tsukiji Outer Market Eel Specialty Store Unagi (Hot Container Version) This is an eel rice bowl that warms up when you pull the string. It gets quite warm! Actually, it gets pretty hot. This would be great for hanami (flower viewing) or eating in the park. It would also be nice to bring along for snorkeling. I wonder if you can bring it on a plane... Bringing it on a date might earn you some extra points. Come to think of it, when I tried to bring a somen noodle machine to a sports festival, I was told, "Don't do it!" But maybe bringing this would be okay. I didn't see many "warming bento" options like this eel bento being sold at train stations or airports, but they seem to be quite common for delivery services. You can try them out. By the way, the heating bento box is sold under the name "steaming heat box." Some are available on Amazon.

From exit 1 of Tsukiji Station on the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line, head left towards the Tsukiji outer market. Cross the Tsukiji 4-chome intersection, turn left, and enter the second alley. Just past the next alley, you will find a shop selling grilled eel and seafood skewers. There is also a dining area inside the shop, but meals are only available from 8:00 am onwards, so in the early morning, the focus is on the skewers being sold outside. I visited just before 7:00 am and tried the grilled eel skewer and liver skewer. The skewers outside were a bit tough, likely due to being reheated, but the taste was decent.
