Their homemade lemon fermented sour is peeled and as someone concerned about pesticides, I really appreciate this consideration. I was planning on just having one beer and fish & chips before leaving, but everything was so delicious that I ended up staying longer. The craft beers brewed in the back of the shop ranged from fruity and refreshing to bitter and rich chocolate flavors, with some unique ones that you can only find here. They also brew beers at affiliated shops, so beer enthusiasts can enjoy chatting with the staff at the counter about their preferences. On this day, I had a tasting set of 3 beers (¥1000), a half pint of chocolate beer (¥660), a tasting set of 5 wines (¥1500), fish & chips (around ¥1000), and a cheese platter of 5 varieties (around ¥1600). The menu perfectly complements the drinks and enhances the flavors. I feel like I could find my number one favorite by trying out different options little by little. Highly recommended for those who want to enjoy a variety of drinks!

It's been a while since I visited Shibataya. I tried the #4 drink which seemed versatile and easy to drink. The #1 was fruity and enjoyable on its own rather than paired with food. The #6 started fruity but had a strong bitterness later, suitable for richer flavored dishes. I forgot to take photos of the bamboo shoot fritters and herb sausages. The Gorgonzola gnocchi was served with honey, and I was extremely satisfied. #Shin-Nakano gourmet.

The cheese platter as the final dish paired perfectly with the wine. The wine selection was delightful, and I felt a sense of bliss. However, the first floor bar had limited food options, which was a bit disappointing. I will opt for the second floor for drinks next time.

Starting with a visit to SAKE-YA Nishi-Ogikubo, I have also visited Kitami store and Asakusa Beer Kobo whenever I have the chance. This time, before our evening plans, I made my first visit to this store and had a light lunch. The first floor has a counter for alcohol sales, eat-in tables, and a few small tables, while the second floor has a spacious dining space with a counter and 6-7 tables. On this day, I visited incognito and when I went upstairs, I was greeted with "Ah, Jigen-san." It was Mr. Miyashita, who used to be the manager at the Nishi-Ogikubo store. Visiting was immediately recognized (laughs). - Eggplant and Bacon Arrabbiata Pasta (1,000 yen including tax) Comes with potage soup and salad. The pasta was authentically made and quite generous in portion. - MERTES (Lunch Wine 300 yen including tax) This is a German Riesling available at a special price for those who order lunch during lunchtime. Today I wanted to try a little bit of different types of sake, so I visited Shibataya. As a major wholesaler, they offer a wide variety of sake. The staff is knowledgeable about sake and can provide information. Each of the 3 types of sake was served in a 30cc glass. The first one was "Kirekire" from Tochigi Ohtawara, which Shibataya is involved in the product planning. It is not just dry, but has a nice sharpness to it. The second one was "Shichiken" from Hakushucho, Yamanashi, which is a well-balanced, mellow sake. The third one was "WAKAZE," made by a Japanese sake brewer in France. It is made with French rice and hard water, giving it a unique taste and a long finish. In total, I had 90cc of sake, which was just right. I enjoyed it with some olives. It was a delightful experience.

I had a wine tasting of 5 different wines along with a platter of 5 assorted appetizers. The staff asked about my wine preferences and opened 3 new bottles for me to try based on my tastes. The bottles were kept right next to me so I could look up more information about the wines as I drank. Ordering was easy through my smartphone. The wines available for purchase in the store had cute labels and were in a reasonable price range, making it difficult to decide which ones to buy.

Tonkatsu with grated daikon, yuzu ponzu sauce set meal for 1000 yen. This week's tonkatsu is Japanese-style. The size and thickness of the tonkatsu are good. In addition to the delicious grated daikon yuzu ponzu sauce, they also provided a separate "nama sauce" tonkatsu sauce. The miso soup has clams. I enjoyed my meal today as well.

Lunch set with chicken karaage and oil-drenched chicken for 1000 yen. The oil-drenched chicken alone is delicious, but the tartar sauce with a half-boiled egg in a small side dish is also tasty. The tonkatsu itself was fairly thick and satisfying. Considering the quality, the price of 1000 yen seemed quite reasonable. The dressing on the cabbage was also delicious and refreshing. After work, I stopped by with a friend for a quick drink. It was my third visit, and I really like that you can casually try various drinks at a reasonable price. The appetizers were delicious, and before I knew it, I had more than just one drink. You can also purchase the drinks displayed in the refrigerator on the spot, and I even received a bottle of sparkling wine. The second floor seems to be a fermented bistro, and I would love to visit if I have the chance.

While waiting for my laundry to dry at the coin laundry, I visited this place for a quick drink. I have been here several times since it's close by, but the style of the shop changes each time I visit. During the pandemic, they weren't serving food and drinks, but recently they have started operating a craft beer bar. I had a craft beer and jerk chicken pizza for my first drink, and then enjoyed Tempura Ninyo's wine, as well as a blend of Syrah and Cabernet for my second drink. The staff is friendly and maintains a good distance. I will definitely visit again.

I had some business in Shin-Nakano and as I was walking, I saw a shop with wine lined up and thought it was a liquor store. But then I noticed a lunch banner and decided to go in. The lunch was served on the second floor of the shop, which also had a menu for dinner and was clearly focused on wine. The interior of the shop had a modern and calm atmosphere, making it a nice place to enjoy a meal. We ordered two different lunches that day and they were both delicious.
