I purchased the tamagoyaki (rolled omelette) to use in chirashi sushi. The shop where they were cutting the tamagoyaki had a lot of tourists blocking the way. Since my shop doesn't sell cut tamagoyaki, it was easy for me to shop without being bothered by the crowded tourists. I saw a sign for thick tamagoyaki, medium size, priced at 750 yen, but with slight damage for 650 yen. I couldn't tell where the damage was, but the tamagoyaki was delicious and just the right amount of sweetness. I realized that the complimentary 30-minute parking service was about to expire, so I hurried back to my car. It was a quick visit to the Tsukiji Outer Market. I finished my shopping for cherry blossom viewing and prepared for a gathering with friends and family. I was worried about the early blooming pace this year, but even on April 1st, we were able to enjoy the cherry blossoms.

This is a specialty shop for Tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled omelette) located in the outer market of Tsukiji. While not as well-known as other Tamagoyaki specialty shops in the area, this place is highly regarded for its delicious taste and even supplies products to Seijo Ishii. The shop has a traditional look with a narrow entrance and a long, narrow structure inside. They have a prominent sign and curtain hanging at the entrance. The shop also houses a production area at the back, where they make and sell their products, staying true to the Tsukiji tradition. They offer Thick Tamagoyaki - Medium (680 yen), Thick Tamagoyaki - Large (930 yen), and Two-colored Rolled Tamagoyaki (680 yen). Due to the decrease in tourists because of COVID-19, they seem to focus on selling their popular items. Interestingly, they do not offer cut pieces for tourists. I tried the Thick Tamagoyaki - Large (930 yen), which had a shelf life of 6 days including the purchase date due to being refrigerated in a sealed package. It weighed 790g, quite a large Tamagoyaki. The texture was excellent, with a nice firmness on the browned surface. The initial taste was sweetness, which was quite noticeable. Despite being sweet, it was a natural sweetness that wasn't overpowering. Additionally, it had a good umami flavor from the dashi. The balance of sweetness and umami made it a delicious Tamagoyaki that would be enjoyed by many. Instead of opting for a well-known shop, consider buying Tamagoyaki here for a tasty souvenir. It comes in a sealed inner bag for hygiene and is packed in a box. With its universally appealing taste, it makes for a perfect souvenir choice.

This is "Tamahachi Shoten," a tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled omelette) shop in Tsukiji. I visited Tsukiji Outer Market for a walk on the morning when Tsukiji Market moved to Toyosu Market. The market is still lively, with fewer trucks and market workers, but the energy is still there. Tamahachi Shoten was open, so I bought a "Thick Tamagoyaki" for 680 yen to take home. It was quite heavy. When I opened it at home, it was wrapped in a plastic bag. I cut it into bite-sized pieces. It had a fine texture and a moist feel. The slightly sweet taste was just right. It tasted like the thick tamagoyaki from a sushi restaurant with a rich dashi flavor! It's sad that Tsukiji Market has moved, but I hope Toyosu will preserve the old and create new traditions. Delicious tamagoyaki. Thank you for the meal.

It's a place in a shop located in Tsukiji, but this time I purchased at Ana Festa on the 2nd floor of Haneda Airport's Terminal 2 building. I bought the "Thick Rolled Omelette" to have for dinner at home and as a snack with some drinks. It felt quite heavy when I picked it up from the shelf, so I sliced it with a knife, placed it on a plate, and had it as it is. I thought it might be too sweet like the thick rolled omelette I had before, but surprisingly, the sweetness was mild and I could taste the dashi flavor, making it very easy to eat. I even warmed it up in the microwave and enjoyed it with a fluffy texture like freshly baked thick rolled omelette. If I happen to stop by the Haneda Airport terminal building again, I might end up buying it if I see it displayed prominently.

I am at Tsukiji. While I'm here, I'll buy some tamagoyaki or shrimp and egg scramble from Tamahachi, a shop known for these two items. I'm already hesitating on my way to the shop. When I arrive at the front of the shop, I gaze at the showcase. Oh, it's a tough decision. Should I buy both? No, if I buy two, my affection will be divided into two and the excitement will be halved. I stood in front of the shop for a while, maybe about a minute. The shop staff did not rush me and patiently waited for my decision. "Excuse me, please give me the thick tamagoyaki." Even though I was still hesitating, the words that came out of my mouth were tamagoyaki. This is fine. At home, I cut it into a suitable size and heat it up a bit. Well, not just a bit. I heat it up thoroughly. Cold tamagoyaki at a sushi restaurant is delicious, and freshly baked hot tamagoyaki is delicious too. I was going to eat it as a side dish, so I heated it up properly considering the balance with other side dishes. When I opened Tamahachi's page to write a review, I was surprised. I haven't read the contents of the reviews, but all the titles that I could see today say "moderate sweetness." Oh no. The tamagoyaki from this shop is sweet and delicious. It's on the sweeter side at Tsukiji. The depth of flavor varies greatly depending on the temperature, so as the saying goes, "the blind men and the elephant," a one-dimensional way of eating cannot fully express its true nature. It might be misleading, I think. Tamahachi's tamagoyaki makes you feel sweet and happy. It was delicious. But next time, I'll try the scrambled eggs and shrimp.

On August 25, 2015, the third installment of the tamagoyaki series. I always buy the type of dashimaki tamago that is supplied to sushi restaurants, but this time when I tried to purchase it, they offered me a slightly damaged one at a lower price. I think it was around 500 yen. I ate it and it tasted just the same. The sweetness was relatively mild and the flavor was good, but I thought it lacked smoothness probably due to being slightly damaged. Normally, it should be smoother. I guess it's okay for eating at home, but next time I'll buy the regular one.

A take-out specialty shop for tamagoyaki located outside Tsukiji Market. They are known for their beautifully yellow tamagoyaki, which is not too sweet and perfect for pairing with alcohol. They offer various sizes and types of tamagoyaki, all made without any artificial additives or coloring. It's satisfying and delicious. I'd like to try comparing it with other tamagoyaki shops someday, even though it might not be the healthiest choice.

At the end of the Tsukiji Morning Tour, we visited this shop with a cool storefront. In the showcase, there were thick rolled omelettes lined up. I couldn't decide between the colorful five-color roll with vegetables and the basic thick rolled omelette, so I went with the latter since it was my first visit. I took it home as a souvenir and enjoyed it there. The thick rolled omelette was quite substantial in size. The softly rolled omelette melted in my mouth. It had a mild sweetness that even adults who don't like overly sweet flavors could enjoy it as a meal. The gentle taste made me keep eating without getting tired of it. Tsukiji is not only fun for eating on the spot, but also for bringing back ingredients as souvenirs. Meeting at 8 am and dispersing after 10 am - what a fulfilling weekend morning. Thank you to the chief reviewer who coordinated the Tsukiji Morning Tour and the fellow reviewer I was able to join.

On a regular day for dinner, I went to a tamagoyaki (Japanese omelette) takeout specialty store located near Tsukiji Market in Tokyo. The store is on the right side of Harumi Street, past the Tsukiji 4-chome intersection and the next market bridge intersection on the left. It is located under an arcade, right across from the Torazou Minami shop. I purchased a medium thick tamagoyaki for 590 yen. It was subtly sweet, light, and refreshing with a beautiful yellow color. A satisfying dinner option.

★2014・8 revisited The best recommended tamagoyaki at the riverside, also known as "special grade", with a rich and delicious taste that may suit everyone's preferences. With the upcoming relocation of Tsukiji to Toyosu causing chaos, the atmosphere at the Tsukiji outer market is restless, with various shops coming and going. The customers are mostly foreigners or tourists, and the regular customers are almost non-existent, as lamented by the reviewer. It seems that the decision has been made for the outer market to remain, but what will happen once the main market inside is gone? It's a troublesome situation as things keep changing every time you visit next month. ★In the Tsukiji outer market, popular places include Terry Ito's family restaurant "Marutake", "Matsumi", and "Daijo". Additionally, there is "Tamayu", known for having the best tamagoyaki in town, competing with each other in terms of the amount of dashi, sweetness, and various ingredients added to the tamagoyaki. Recently, on Saturdays, you can enjoy a food walk similar to Takeshita Street in Harajuku, with each skewer costing only 100 yen. Now, this "Tamahachi Shoten" has been recommended by a friend from the riverside for several years. It's located at the end of a small street when you turn back from Shiodome Street. (I apologize for the vague directions, please refer to a guidebook for more details) I always buy the "special grade" instead of the regular one, as instructed by my friend. When I ask for "the strong one," they reply, "special grade, right?" This is also something I learned from my friend. I haven't tried the regular one, so I don't know how strong the special grade is, but if they say it's strong, then it must be (laughs). I have tried other shops as well, but the famous ones feel a bit touristy, while Tamahachi seems more like a pro's choice? Also, I don't remember the red tamagoyaki from Danchu. "Tamahachi Shoten's" special grade tamagoyaki is delicious, I like it.

This shop is a tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled omelette) specialty store located across from Tsukiji Sushi Fresh on Namiyoke Street. They specialize in hand-made tamagoyaki without the use of chemical seasonings, additives, or coloring. The shop mentioned that they have a factory next to the Ginpachi cafe across the street for production. Today, I purchased the thick tamagoyaki (590 yen) and tried it at home. Compared to Matsutake's tamagoyaki, it had a lighter yellow color and a more subtle sweetness. It seems like they also offer online shopping on their website.

Yuba Shoten is a specialty store in Tsukiji that specializes in thick tamagoyaki for sushi and cooking. It was established in 1953, which means about 60 years ago. I received it as a souvenir this time and tried it for lunch. The taste is sweet. Indeed, it is suitable for sushi. I thought someone like Shota Ikanami would write about it in an essay (I searched for it but couldn't find it). They do not use chemical seasonings or synthetic coloring agents. I didn't know, but on their website, they list trading partners such as Kinokuniya and Meijiya, so it seems you can buy it there too.

I found a delicious thick rolled omelette at Queen's Isetan Shirokane Takanawa store. It had a gentle sweetness and a rich dashi flavor, which made it a luxurious yet somehow nostalgic and heartwarming dish. It was very tasty and I loved the flavor. I don't usually buy thick rolled omelettes, but if I come across it again, I would definitely want to buy it!

I purchased this handmade thick omelette from a certain store. The name of the product is quite appealing. It is fluffy and has a slight sweetness to it. The dashi flavor is also noticeable. It's simply delicious and makes you want to have it as another side dish.

The tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled omelette) here is a simple dish. They also sell misshapen ones at a good cost-performance ratio for home use. Even though they are misshapen, the difference is not noticeable to amateurs. Of course, the taste is the same. The tamagoyaki itself has a good balance of sweetness and moisture. There is no dashi flavor, but the lightly seasoned taste without any strong flavor is preferred. Whenever I come back from Tsukiji, I always make sure to buy this excellent dish.
