In Ikebukuro, I started my morning at a charming cafe called Cafe de Paris. The excitement builds as you climb the escalator. I had the morning set (sandwich and hot coffee), as well as the Napoli pasta with iced coffee. The sandwiches were delicious with fluffy bread - I tried the ham and egg sandwiches, a classic combination. I also tasted my friend's Napoli pasta, which was quite tasty. The elegant and nostalgic atmosphere of the Showa era inside the cafe made for a delightful and luxurious morning. I wished there was a similar cafe nearby.

As soon as you enter, there is an escalator going up. The interior is gorgeous, like medieval Paris, with an antique feel. The iced coffee has a bitter taste but is delicious. The price is reasonable at 650 yen. It's conveniently located near the station, and it's easy to see why it's always full.

Before work, I went to a morning cafe that had just opened, so it was quite empty and had a quiet atmosphere! It had an old-fashioned vibe, but I was happy that it was non-smoking. Lately, I've been on a bread-eating streak, so I ended up having Napolitan for breakfast - it had a gentle flavor and I finished it all in one go. I'm curious about the beef stew and milk crepe too, so I'll have to go back again.

- Tuna Pizza Toast Set (980 yen) / Cafe de Paris Special Cafe Napoli Set (1,100 yen) / Egg Salad Sandwich (600 yen) were enjoyed.
- It cost 2,680 yen for 2 adults and 1 child (about 1,000 yen per adult).
- Located in Toshima-ku, Saitama Prefecture. About a 2-minute walk from Ikebukuro Station, you'll find Cafe de Paris Ikebukuro Nishiguchi.
- Situated on the 2nd floor of a building with "Aburasoba Tokyo Aburagusumi Headquarters Ikebukuro Group" on the 1st floor.
- Summary of reviews: A sister store of "Earl Ikebukuro Kitaguchi". Spacious interior, lovely service, and delicious meals that warm the heart. Starting your day with their morning menu makes for a luxurious day.
- Originally planned to visit "Earl Ikebukuro Kitaguchi", but it was full. The manager recommended their sister store, Cafe de Paris Ikebukuro Nishiguchi.
- "Earl" has only stairs, while "Cafe de Paris Ikebukuro Nishiguchi" has an elevator and escalator, making it easily accessible with strollers.
- The interior exudes a Showa-era cafe atmosphere, with a calming European-inspired vibe.
- The staff's kindness was exceptional, offering suggestions like removing mustard from the child's Egg Salad Sandwich. Their proactive service was greatly appreciated.
- Ordered Tuna Pizza Toast Set, Cafe de Paris Special Cafe Napoli Set, and Egg Salad Sandwich. All dishes were delicious.
- The Egg Salad Sandwich had a perfect balance of egg flavor and sweetness from the bread. The Tuna Pizza Toast combined the sweetness of tuna with the acidity of tomatoes on crispy toast with plenty of cheese. The highlight was the Napoli Set, a simple yet flavorful dish with a hint of creaminess.
- The set's iced coffee had a rich taste, elevating the overall dining experience.
- Enjoyed a leisurely breakfast by the window, watching people pass by on the street. It was a delightful and luxurious start to the day.

Just past 9 AM. No waiting. I was debating whether to have breakfast at a nearby Count or another location, but it turns out they are sister stores with almost identical menus. Phew! I was impressed by the escalator at the entrance that I had been curious about. When I reached the top, the interior of the restaurant was luxurious and dazzling. The staff said, "Please choose any seat you like." - Mixed sandwich (breakfast menu) - Beef stew - Tuna toast sandwich - Napolitan bread is delicious!! It's thick but fluffy like cotton, making it easy to eat. The bread for the beef stew was moist and buttery, making me happy. The tuna toast sandwich was loaded with cheese. The Napolitan had very few ingredients, super simple. The acidity was mild and mellow, and even though I usually don't like ketchup, this was delicious! Being able to add as much powdered cheese and Tabasco as I wanted also boosted my excitement. It's great that you can order items other than the breakfast menu in the morning, and that the breakfast menu is available until 2 PM! The service is quick and everything is just perfect. Thank you for the meal!

After 5:00 PM on Saturday, I had to wait for about 15 minutes as the third in line. Although it's not a Jiro-style ramen place, sometimes you just want to relax and take it easy at a cafe, you know? The interior of this place is retro with a Showa-era vibe, the pudding is rich with eggs, the iced coffee is strong and bitter, and it's conveniently close to Ikebukuro Station. There's no shortage of good things to say about this place, like the escalator at the entrance or the door turning on the way out. But it gets really crowded, not just this place but all the old-school cafes and coffee shops in Ikebukuro on weekends. Maybe it's best to come on a weekday during the day, and enjoy a luxurious moment savoring the bitterness of the iced coffee while listening to the suspicious conversations of the people next to you.

Good evening. This is lily_c. I've started to realize that one of the best meals in Tokyo that is hard to mess up is breakfast. I was able to wake up early today and decided to head to Ikebukuro. It was around 7 am and the west exit of Ikebukuro was empty. A retro cafe was just a 2-minute walk from there. It had a cool vibe, with an escalator taking you up to the second floor. The sandwich set felt homemade and the place wasn't crowded. It was a good experience.

Beef stew set for 980 yen at the Earl's Group store with a morning special for 720 yen. The place has plenty of seats and feels spacious. The drink (iced tea) was good, and the morning toast was thick and delicious. But the stew was amazing! All this for the price of a drink set. The potatoes were flavorful all the way through, and the chunks of meat were tender enough to cut with a spoon. The stew was on a different level of deliciousness compared to regular cafes.

I was surprised by the automatic doors opening with a bang as I entered the restaurant. It felt familiar, like being among the Count's companions, with the same menu as always. It's hot, but I decided to go for the beef stew, something I wouldn't normally eat at home. I sipped on iced tea while waiting. The aroma was delightful when the stew arrived. The vegetables were almost melting, with the color and flavor seeping into every bite. Even the potatoes were a rich brown inside. It was delicious - no need to search for another Western-style restaurant. The meat was tender and plentiful, leaving me fully satisfied. As I left, I pushed the automatic doors open with a bang - a sound that only those who have been there would understand.

I had a banana juice for 730 yen, reminiscent of banana milk from the past. It is located in the bustling Ikebukuro North Exit area, far from the beautiful cityscape. The furnishings also feel old, but there is a sense of extravagance and a longing for Paris. I enjoyed the extremely emotional atmosphere and took my time in this place.

Today's breakfast was a visit to Cafe de Paris. This week is dedicated to Neapolitan spaghetti at cafes, so I ordered the Neapolitan set (1,100 yen) with a hot coffee. The Neapolitan here has a moist surface on the spaghetti and a slightly generous amount of sauce. The flavor is not too strong, with a nice balance of sweetness and acidity. The ingredients include sausage, onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms. No cheese or Tabasco, which suits my taste. However, towards the end, the flavor felt a bit too strong due to the sauce being a bit much. It might be good to compare it with the one at Count nearby. It was delicious.

I often use this place for meetings. It's close to the station, relatively quiet, and has a nice atmosphere. There is no Wi-Fi, and it has recently changed from smoking to non-smoking, which is a good impression. This time, I ordered a cake set for the first time. It's quite reasonable for being close to Ikebukuro station. The mille crepe was average. The iced coffee was also average. It's a place that prioritizes atmosphere.

Located about a 2-minute walk from Ikebukuro Station West Exit, on the 2nd floor of a building next to the entrance of Nishi-Ichiban Street, is the café "Café de Paris Ikebukuro Nishi-guchi Store". I visited for the first time on a morning in early May. The interior of the store is spacious with a total of 99 table seats. I chose to sit at a 4-person table by the window where I could enjoy the view outside. I looked at the menu on the table. On this day, I ordered the "C Set" (850 yen) from the Morning Set menu.
<C Set Contents>
- Premium Cheese Toast
- LGG Yogurt
- Banana
- Coffee
After a short wait, the C Set was brought to me. The cheese toast smelled deliciously fragrant. I quickly took a bite. The rich taste of Gouda cheese was irresistible. It paired perfectly with the hot coffee. The combination of banana and yogurt also gave a healthy touch. Before long, I finished my meal. I drank the coffee and said, "Thank you for the meal."

I went to "Café de Paris Ikebukuro Nishiguchi" to pass the time while waiting for a night parfait specialty shop. After waiting outside for almost an hour, we were lucky to find a table available. We were seated at a table in the back of the restaurant, and I ordered a "Banana Juice (730 yen)" while my friend opted for tea and a yogurt shake. The restaurant was almost full, so our drinks arrived in about 15 minutes. The banana juice lacked the typical sweetness of bananas, but had a more adult flavor. I found that adding a bit of gum syrup made it taste more like ripe bananas, which I preferred. The restaurant had a nostalgic Showa era atmosphere, and the interior decorations were charming. Thank you for the meal!

Located next to the entrance of Nishiichibangai Chuo-dori, on the second floor of Ikebukuro Engei-jo, is a cafe known for its Showa glamorous atmosphere. Similar to "Hakushaku," this group also offers a morning service until 2 pm, which is a plus. However, my memories of actively choosing to visit this cafe are distant. Lately, I always end up here for meetings. I must have visited this place dozens of times by now. If asked about the features of this cafe, many people would likely focus on the introduction to the store. First, the automatic doors that open like sliding doors. Then, the dedicated escalator leading to the second floor. And the chandelier symbolizing glamour that greets you. The sofas, decorations, tables, and chairs all have that glamorous feel. The "Iced Coffee" (600 yen) - as shown in the photo. And yes, the price matches the ambiance. (laughs) In terms of taste, when compared to the cold brew iced coffee from "Charcoal Roasted Coffee Kura" in Nishiguchi, there is a difference. But the rich and heavy-bodied flavor suits this cafe well. Lately, with the absence of the master at "Kura," it has become a bit neglected, so I've been exploring other options like this one. The atmosphere may vary depending on where you sit. If it's available, passing through the cashier and descending a few steps to the separate room on the south side allows for a brighter and more pleasant experience. Thank you for the meal. The cake set for ¥850 includes a milk crepe and an iced coffee. The cafe au lait is ¥650. The milk crepe has a sponge cake at the bottom, custard cream in the middle, and whipped cream on top. The custard cream is thick and the whipped cream is smooth and rich, making it delicious. It is slightly sweet and goes well with coffee. The creamy crepe is chewy and satisfying.

It's been a while since I went to Ikebukuro. This café is surprisingly crowded. The "Iced Coffee (590 yen)" here has a rich aroma and a nice bitterness, very delicious. It may be a bit noisy due to the location, but I'm happy to enjoy a delicious coffee. Thank you for the treat.

Relaxing coffee at Cafe de Paris. It suddenly appears in the bustling Ikebukuro West Gate area, a "Paris". Across from the police box with officers keeping a sharp eye on the surroundings all day long. In the same building as the theater. When standing in front of the glass door, it doesn't slide to the side, but opens in the middle like a folding door. An escalator right in front takes you to the second floor. The ceiling has a chandelier. Small light bulbs embedded in the molding create an elegant atmosphere. As you go up to the second floor, you'll see a Rococo statue in front of you. Red velvet chairs with black marble-like tables. A luxurious mood. Ikebukuro madams and gentlemen are elegantly sipping tea. It's not like a real Parisian cafe with snobby waiters in wooden nose masks. Everyone is friendly. The latest washlet in the restroom. There's even a hanger on the door to hang your coat. The fancy pot in the restroom is just for show, not from Marie Antoinette's era... Ikebukuro's Paris is a friendly Paris... not bad at all. You can order the morning set until 2 o'clock, which is very kind. For an extra 60 yen, you can have a sandwich with your 600 yen blend coffee. I was tempted. But I decided to just have the coffee. A large coffee cup with a sugar pot and a matching milk pitcher. A mild, easy-to-drink taste with a gentle acidity. Enjoying it with plenty of sugar and milk. The milk with a high fat content sinks initially when poured due to its weight. It slowly floats up, forming patterns, thanks to the acidity of the coffee. The scattered granulated sugar between the sugar pot and the cup looks like stardust in the night sky, which is interesting. I sat in front of the kitchen. There's a washing area right next to it. The staff work efficiently and cheerfully. They gather around, chatting while wiping, polishing, and finishing the cups and glasses that have just been washed. Their dedication to serving customers wholeheartedly, with no airs or graces, is wonderful, and I've become a fan.

I remember coming to a shop with a unique way of opening automatic doors a long time ago. The interior of the shop has a Showa era scent. The coffee is delicious, and the staff's service is good. It's a very popular shop with few empty tables, and it's quite busy for this time of year. Thank you for the meal.

I also like retro coffee shops and old-fashioned cafes, so I really like this cafe and often visit when I come to Ikebukuro. It's conveniently located near the station, with spacious seating, and open until 11:00 pm with last order at 10:30 pm, which is great for late-night visits. One of the recommended items here is the nostalgic Showa-era pudding (comes with a drink like coffee or tea, tax included at 920 yen. Single item is 650 yen) and the value cake set. Especially, the Showa-era pudding is a slightly firm yet smooth pudding with a generous amount of lightly sweetened whipped cream on top, which is really delicious! The caramel sauce is not too bitter, which is also nice. I personally love the taste of this pudding. They also put a canned cherry on top of the pudding, which I like. By the way, I heard that this pudding is made using only eggs laid the day before. I have also tried the milk crepe and cheesecake from the cake set, and they were quite delicious with a drink included (coffee or tea) for 850 yen tax included. The interior of the cafe has a nostalgic Showa-era retro vibe, which is perfect for those who love old-fashioned coffee shops. With plenty of seating, you can relax comfortably, and even if you become a cafe refugee near Ikebukuro West Exit, you can likely find a seat without waiting for too long, which is great. The staff are mostly experienced and provide polite service, which is also appreciated.
