The atmosphere is very nice. It's a lovely restaurant with delicious food. As you pass through Golden Gai, you'll find a quaint old house standing quietly. Inside, it's surprisingly spacious, with about 30 groups of customers already seated. I requested a seat at the counter and the staff kindly agreed. They were all smiling and created a pleasant atmosphere. We started with beer and hot pot rice. It's important to order this first because it takes about 40 minutes to be served, so you won't end up ordering more unnecessarily. Our order included: simmered fu, roast beef, tofu salad with miso dressing, yuba tempura with mentaiko, and a sashimi platter with 7 types of fish. We also had cherry blossom highballs and sake. It might have been too much for two people, but it was delicious. The total bill came to 14,000 yen. Highly recommended.

Tea Flower Hana is a Kyoto-style izakaya located in Shinjuku. To find the restaurant, walk from Yasukuni Street towards Meiji Street, pass the ward office street, and then turn left onto Shiki no Michi. It suddenly appears on your left, even though it's in Shinjuku, it feels like a different place with beautiful lighting and even autumn leaves in January. The entrance is a bit hidden, but once you enter, you'll find seating on the second floor including counter, table, and sunken kotatsu seats. There are also private rooms available. The restaurant offers a welcome drink service with a dinner reservation using a coupon from Tabelog until the end of January. The menu includes various dishes like seasonal appetizers, lotus root tempura with spicy cod roe, deep-fried gluten in sweet miso sauce, sweet potato tempura, and a delicious clay pot rice with sea bream and trefoil. The reviewer enjoyed the elegant flavors of the dishes and the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant, and recommends it for a relaxing dining experience.

The atmosphere of the restaurant, the private room, and the food were all excellent! The fried dishes, rice dishes, and soba were all delicious, and I would love to go back again. There were many unique menu items like pumpkin tempura, camembert cheese tempura, and mentaiko yuba tempura, which made it difficult to choose. The chestnut rice in the clay pot was incredibly delicious with sweet chestnuts and perfectly cooked rice grains, it was truly amazing. I would love to try other clay pot dishes as well!

Located along a small alleyway in front of Golden Gai, the entrance to this restaurant can be a bit hard to find so be careful. The atmosphere inside is calm and you can feel the Kyoto vibe. There are seats available on the second floor as well. You order using your smartphone. The sashimi came after the meat, which was a bit disappointing. The fish dishes here are recommended over the meat dishes. The cod was the most delicious. The side dishes had a gentle flavor, and the sea bream rice in a pot was just right. The sashimi was okay. There were many varieties to enjoy, which was good. The grilled mackerel was a bit small and it had internal organs in it, which was a bit disappointing.

I like using the QR code to place orders. It's stress-free without having to call a waiter. The last order for food is 1 hour before closing, and for drinks is 30 minutes before, which feels a bit early. The atmosphere with slightly dim lighting is very nice. I always order the popular menu item, the hot pot rice.

It was a very wonderful space. I arrived at 17:00 for the opening and the staff welcomed me with lovely smiles. Both the atmosphere inside the restaurant and the attitude of the staff were very good, making for a pleasant dinner. I made a mistake with the reservation date and time, but they handled it politely. Thank you very much. It is a Kyoto cuisine restaurant, and each dish had a delicate seasoning that was just right, all of them were really delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I have been secretly going to this restaurant for years. The atmosphere is very nice and the food is delicious, and you can often get a reservation up until the day before, so it's great for when you have important plans come up suddenly. The drinks can be a bit slow to arrive, but I think you can leave satisfied within the time limit (around 2 hours). It was my first time ordering the course menu, and I was very satisfied. I definitely want to use this restaurant again.

A hidden house restaurant near Golden Gai. It's in a mysterious location and easy to miss. It has an old Japanese house style and this time we were seated on the second floor. The customers include couples, colleagues from companies, and others. The atmosphere is quiet and calming. The food is delicious! For two people, we ordered clay pot rice, sashimi, small dishes, two drinks each, and other items, which came to 6,500 yen per person.

The satisfaction level was high! The interior of the restaurant had a slightly dim atmosphere, which was nice. The counter area seemed to be popular among couples. It would be a good place for a date. All the dishes we ordered were delicious! The staff provided good service, and I would like to come back again.

The cost performance is bad. It looks good in photos, but in reality, it's just okay. I visited this place twice in the 2000s and again in 2023. Back in the 2000s, I was excited to find a hidden traditional house at the edge of Shinjuku. However, I found the hard floor uncomfortable to sit on, the low tables not very relaxing, and the food not particularly delicious. The interior and exterior didn't look as good as in the photos, so I decided not to go there again. This time, I visited because a friend made a reservation. The place seemed a bit cleaner than before, and I was relieved to be seated at a table. However, the seats were narrow. The system of ordering via barcode, which is more common in the 2020s, ruins the atmosphere. Despite that, the prices are still high. In conclusion, I will maintain my decision not to visit this place again. I think their affiliated restaurant, Chacha Hakua, is better.

A shop suddenly appearing on the cobblestone road that doesn't seem like Shinjuku at first! I got lost and wandered around Golden Gai at first haha. Once inside the shop, you'll think, "Is this Shinjuku? No, it's Kyoto!" The atmosphere of the shop was great and everything I ate was delicious! The clay pot rice takes time to cook, so it's best to order it as your first order! The clay pot I wanted to eat was sold out, so I had eel instead!

I visited Chachabana, located close to Shinjuku Golden Gai. They are known for their Kyoto-style obanzai dishes and seafood, and as someone who has lived in Kyoto for a long time, I can say that the obanzai was delicious. The sashimi in the photo was listed as 3 servings, but it looked more like 1.5 servings, which was a bit disappointing, but I guess that's common in Shinjuku. The atmosphere was nice, the prices were reasonable, and they regularly brought out new plates, which was a nice touch. I plan on coming back again.

This was my first visit. I used it for a meal with a friend I hadn't seen in a while. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was calm, and we were able to relax and enjoy our time. The food included seasonal dishes, and the corn rice cooked in a pot was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

The dishes were carefully prepared and delicious! Overall, they were slightly sweet with a well-seasoned taste. The rice dish came later, but it went well with the side dishes. The mixed rice was served in a tea cup style with tofu and bamboo shoots. They offer white rice for seconds. The amberjack carpaccio was tasty. It would be nice to have more leafy green salads. The eel was delicious. It's okay for children, but not suitable for strollers.

I went with three friends. The atmosphere is very surreal and charming. It reminded me of Kyoto. The food was delicious and the sake went down very well. However, you have to take off your shoes, so women might feel a bit uncomfortable being barefoot. Overall, it's a bit pricey so it's not suitable for those who want to eat a lot. I recommend going to another place for a second or third round. I personally think it's best to have a few drinks here and then head to Golden Gai.

I received an invitation and used it for a dinner party. The restaurant is located at the end of Golden Gai, resembling a hidden house. The atmosphere inside was calm and very nice. The course meal was reasonable and satisfying. The taste was stable, not amazing but good. I would like to visit this restaurant again if I have the chance.

In the hustle and bustle of Kabukicho, it's rare to find a single shop in one building. The atmosphere is stylish and unique, not something you typically find in Shinjuku. The address, 1-1-1 Kabukicho, is quite impactful! We went on a Friday night with 5 people. The a la carte dishes were all delicious. The hot pot takes a bit of time, so it's best to order it early. The small shrimp hot pot was fragrant and very tasty.

The entrance was a bit hard to find and I got lost, but it added to the charm of it being like a hidden gem. The atmosphere inside was quiet and cozy, perfect for business meetings or dates. You have to take off your shoes! The food was delicious, especially the Japanese dishes, and the cost performance was good. I would definitely want to visit again.

I visited "Chacha Hana" on a weekday evening. Due to work, I had dinner here today. The location is in Shinjuku's Kabukicho area, behind Golden Gai, along a small alley called "Shiki no Michi". It takes about 10 minutes to walk from JR Shinjuku Station. The restaurant is located in a detached old house in a suspicious neon district of Kabukicho, where time flows calmly like in Kyoto. It feels a bit mysterious. Upon entering the house and opening the sliding door, you will find a clean, dimly lit, traditional Japanese house-like interior that makes you forget you are in Shinjuku. The restaurant has a first floor and a second floor, and today we were seated on the second floor for a business dinner with around 10 people. There are also several private rooms available, suitable for various situations. Today's course includes all-you-can-drink, and I am looking forward to the meal. We started with a platter of assorted side dishes, with 6 different items, all of which were quite good. Although it's all-you-can-drink, it's nice that beer is served in a new cold glass each time. The course menu included various dishes such as sashimi, salad, tempura, grilled beef, rice in a pot, and dessert, all of which were of high quality for an izakaya all-you-can-drink course. The atmosphere of the restaurant was great, and the food was delicious. I had a great time and will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal.

I was surprised to find such a calm restaurant in Shinjuku! It's located at the end of Golden Gai, and the entrance is a little hard to find. The food is delicious, with a focus on Japanese cuisine that is light and refreshing. It's a great place for business meetings or when you want to have a leisurely conversation.

Located in a quiet area of Shinjuku, beyond the Golden Gai, is Chachahana. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is nice and it seems to be popular among young people. We ordered some obanzai dishes like nikujaga (meat and potato stew) and takikomi gohan (seasoned rice) which were delicious. Thank you for the meal!
