I always passed by this restaurant and was curious about it. Today, I decided to have lunch here. There were many counter seats, making it easy for solo diners to visit. I bought a meal ticket from the vending machine, but the seating was available right away so I sat down. The staff quickly brought me water and went to pick up my meal ticket. They asked me about the firmness of the noodles, richness of the soup, and amount of pork fat. They also asked if I wanted rice. I requested a small amount of rice. The noodles were thick and satisfying, and the soup wasn't too heavy. The seaweed was large enough to wrap around the rice. The rice was soft, just the way I like it. I thought the ramen shop was quite clean for a ramen place.

Amazing customization: Firm noodles, normal flavor intensity, normal amount of oil. When it comes to delicious home-style ramen in Shibuya, I absolutely love Machida Shoten. What I love the most is how adding plenty of garlic halfway through transforms this bowl into an unbeatable dish.

I ordered a flavored egg ramen (firm noodles, rich flavor, regular) this time. Sometimes I just crave for that homey taste. It was lunchtime, so I got free rice too. I put some gochujang on the seaweed and ate it with the rice. Thank you so much!

I visited this restaurant near lunchtime and decided to try their regular ramen with spinach topping and rice. I had been to a different branch before, and I feel like the taste has improved. The soup had just the right amount of saltiness, and I finished it all. I would like to go back again.

This is the place I often rely on for lunch, especially for their house-style ramen. It's very convenient that they accept Suica payment for ramen. I really like the ramen at Yoyogi Shoten as well, it never disappoints. The staff at the shop are lively and pleasant, which adds to the enjoyable experience.

The Machida Shokudo chain has several locations, and I was really impressed by the quality. The curry is creamy and rich without being heavy, making it delicious and easy on the stomach. The rice is also cooked perfectly, better than what I usually have at home. Don't underestimate it just because it's a chain!

Thank you very much! I am in Shibuya for work. Even though it's a weekday, there are so many people here... Shibuya is truly bustling. I just finished a meeting, so it's time for a late lunch. It's already 5 pm and I'm hungry. So, I decided to visit Machida Shouten. I arrived at 5 pm and the place was 80% full. There are counter seats and table seats inside. It's a ticket system for ordering. I ordered ramen with seaweed (free rice large portion) for 850 yen. There is a ticket machine on the left side as you enter the restaurant. I handed over the ticket and my food arrived in about 10 minutes. Wow, it looks delicious. Let's dig in. First, the soup is delicious, a reliable soy pork bone soup with a rounded flavor that everyone will enjoy. Next, the noodles are tasty, medium-thick curly noodles that hold the soup well and taste great. Then, the thin slices of char siu are good, nothing special but decent. I then wrapped seaweed around rice with doubanjiang and it was delicious. This is what I love about ramen from this style. I quickly got a rice refill. I continued eating and finished it all. Thank you for the meal. Machida Shouten was delicious, and I am full now. When in need, Machida Shouten is a good choice. I will definitely come back again.

This is a capital family-owned ramen shop, and it was my first visit to any of their locations. I tried the flavored egg ramen. The soup was relatively light for a family-style ramen, but it tasted quite salty. I appreciated that you can add chopped onions for free, and that rice is free until 6 pm.

Located in front of Tokyu Hands in Shibuya, this shop specializes in "kaycei" ramen. I opted for the most classic option, the "Ramen 750 yen tax included." It had a simple and reasonably delicious taste that you would expect from kaycei ramen. Personally, I prefer thinner noodles, so I would be happy if they offered the option to choose the thickness. This is just my preference, but I found the noodles a bit too thick and firm. Thank you for the meal.

I am from Yokohama, and my favorite ramen shop is Sugita-ke. However, there are many places around that seem like cheap imitations of the famous ramen shop. Among them, Machida Shouten is the best option. There are many similar-looking ramen shops, such as Dojima and the entrance to Center Street, but Machida Shouten is much better in comparison. The location of Machida Shouten is the worst among them all. However, I think a rating of 3.3 on Tabelog is too high. I believe Sugita-ke should be rated around 4.7. I often visit Shibuya, so I will definitely go back to Machida Shouten.

This day started with work early in the morning! I ended up returning to the office late at night, past midnight, with no more trains running and deciding to take a taxi home. So, I decided to at least grab something to eat before heading home. I went to a ramen shop near the office with some colleagues. Since one of them commutes by motorcycle and can't drink, I thought about getting a house-style ramen, but there were no other options so I chose a vegetable ramen from the ticket machine, thinking it might be healthier since it has vegetables (or so I tell myself, haha). I also ordered a draft beer because it just doesn't feel like work is over without it. After a while, the vegetable ramen I ordered arrived. It wasn't overflowing like some ramen shops, but it was just right for this time of night. The rich soup paired with thick noodles is a delicious combination, although a bit too rich for my taste. However, adding finely chopped onions and ginger from the condiments on the table transformed it into an easy-to-eat dish! It's true what they say about flavor enhancement. I forgot about the late hour and ended up finishing both the ramen and the beer! Well, I hadn't eaten anything all day, so it's understandable. Now that I've settled down, I can head home feeling relieved (haha). Thank you for the meal.

After watching a basketball game, I went to Shibuya and visited Machida Shouten Shibuya branch. I ordered a regular size ramen (750 yen). Rice was free and I ordered seaweed as a Gold perk. The staff was very energetic and provided good service! Of course, I finished every last bit and went home satisfied.

Visit date: September 5th I had some errands to run in Shibuya and finished around 12:05 pm. Thinking about having lunch, I realized that I would need to be prepared to wait in line at any restaurant due to the lunch rush hour. So, I decided to go to a ramen shop with relatively fast turnover, and chose "Machida Shouten" which is close to Tokyu Hands. I used to come here often when I worked in Shibuya, but since I was transferred to Ikebukuro at the end of May, I haven't been here for a while. It was my first time at "Machida Shouten" in a long time. I arrived at the restaurant at 12:11 pm, bought a ticket for salt chashu ramen with extra seaweed from the ticket machine, and was seated. I handed over my ticket, requested the noodles to be firm and the flavor to be stronger, and also asked for a half rice as a service. The ramen was served in about 8 minutes! Typically, salt ramen is light in flavor with a clear broth, but the salt ramen at "Machida Shouten" is rich and has a punch to it, which I surprisingly enjoy. Whenever I come to "Machida Shouten", I always order the salt ramen. I eat the noodles, then the soup, and finally the rice, but I like to wrap the rice and cucumber in seaweed soaked in the soup and eat it. I never forget to order extra seaweed and rice when I come to a ramen shop. Itadakimasu!

Popular shop Maruda Shouten, which has expanded to local areas, was visited because I wanted to eat it again after having a delicious meal in Nagoya before. I ordered the salt char siu ramen (3 slices of char siu, 6 sheets of seaweed, 1 boiled egg). The soup is thick and rich. It's a salt-based soup, so it's not too heavy and has a perfect balance of saltiness. The noodles are thick and have a firm texture, very delicious. The char siu and boiled egg are both above average in quality. There are garlic and ginger on the table for flavor enhancement, which is thoughtful. Personally, I like to add garlic halfway through and eat ginger directly at the end as a routine at this shop. The staff are all energetic and cheerful, making it a pleasant experience. It's a place I would like to visit again. Thank you for the meal.

After finishing work, I felt like eating some home-style ramen, so I went to the Machida Shouten in Shibuya. It was around 10 a.m. on a weekday, but the restaurant was almost full. I ordered the large serving of flavored egg ramen with extra rice. I asked for the flavor to be on the stronger side. After about 7 minutes, the ramen was brought to me. It had a richly colored pork bone soy sauce broth with chashu, flavored egg, and spinach on top. The rice portion was small but piled high. The soup was quite rich and went really well with the rice, seaweed, and spinach. The noodles were medium-thick curly noodles that coated well with the soup. The chashu was tender and made with belly meat. The flavored egg had a rich taste all the way to the yolk. The combination of the rich soup, seaweed, and white rice was really good. I kept eating the rice and finished the soup completely! As always, it was delicious home-style ramen.

I have been eating a lot of "Iekei" ramen recently, and I would recommend this restaurant to those who are looking to try it for the first time. The signature strong animal smell of top-notch places is not present here, it is very mild. It may lack a distinctive flavor, but it is a well-balanced "Iekei" ramen. I believe there is a lot of MSG in it, but this mild "Iekei" ramen is addictive! I recommend adding a lot of green onions as toppings to make up for the lack of vegetables and enjoy a healthy and unhealthy balance in one meal. Bon appétit!
