Various genres of restaurants line up in Akasaka. Among them, one genre stands out with its impact... yes, "Korean cuisine". In Akasaka, one of the leading battlefields for Korean cuisine in Tokyo, eating Korean cuisine is almost a necessity!
On this day, I visited a restaurant I had been curious about for a while, "Kangansulre". Usually, it's always full and hard to get in without a reservation, but on this day, there happened to be an available table and we were able to enter! The interior is truly a Korean restaurant! It's quite spacious with a deep depth.
First, looking at the drink menu, when it comes to Korean cuisine, of course, Makgeolli is a must... but beer is also hard to resist... but today...
Château Petit Corconnac Cabernet Sauvignon (3,000 yen) - Yes, the true identity of this long-named drink is red wine! Sometimes, having red wine with Korean cuisine is also good! This one is a bottle for 3,000 yen, so it's not that expensive. A fair price setting.
Now, let's order some meat to go with the wine! Looking at the menu, all the dishes look delicious. And, being authentic Korean cuisine, there are also many dishes that I've never heard of before. It's a tough choice.
- Namul assortment (800 yen) - This is essential, right? Namul. It's nice to have four kinds. Delicious. A lot of finger foods arrived, but now it's time for the main dishes to make an entrance!
- Chadol Yaki (1,500 yen per serving) - This dish caught my attention on the menu. A mountain of rolled meat. The visual impact is strong! Chadol Yaki... I've never heard of it before. So, I had the staff grill it for us. It seems like you grill the meat while it's still rolled up! And, topping the grilled meat with green onions! Lots of green onions! These green onions are also delicious! And seasoning with sesame oil, miso, and sauce(?). As for the taste... it's incredibly delicious...! It's like yakiniku, but it has a unique deliciousness that's not yakiniku, and it's just delicious. I ordered two servings, and it's quite a lot!
- Beef Ami Bulcogi (1,600 yen per serving) - Next is another meat dish. Another impactful dish. I wonder what it is... it's like a hamburger. Dip this in a sauce with plenty of onions. Yes, this is also incredibly delicious! The sauce goes well with it, and the meaty feeling is irresistible. I also ordered two servings of this. It's also quite filling and has a great satisfaction.
- Nira Seafood Jeon (1,500 yen) - Of course, I know Jeon! This Jeon is filled with plenty of chives and seafood, and the flavor is well-balanced. It's easy to eat and also perfect as a main dish. The aroma is also very nice.
All the dishes here are really delicious. There are many Korean restaurants in Akasaka, but this one is highly recommended. It's popular and usually quite crowded, so I think it's better to make a reservation! There are many Korean restaurants nearby, so doing a Korean cuisine crawl sounds fun.
