It's been a while since I had a drinking party with my hobby friends! We visited Zassouan in Ikebukuro, a specialty Hiroshima izakaya where you can enjoy dishes made with Hiroshima ingredients! Starting with the appetizer served on a spatula that says "Miyajima," the excitement builds. The seafood dishes are very delicious. The impact of the blowfish was amazing, and the luxurious sashimi platter was all incredibly fresh and delicious. The plum crystal, Kawahagi liver mix, and Tai sake thief were all delicious, and the grilled dishes like white grilled conger eel and deep-fried baby blowfish were exquisite! And of course, this season is all about oysters! If you order raw oysters, you'll get quite large oysters that will make you involuntarily exclaim with delight. They are delicious and firm. I decided to try the oyster spring rolls, thinking they would be delicious even when cooked. The spring rolls are packed with the flavor of oysters, and when you eat them, the taste spreads in your mouth, making it exceptional. This is delicious! There is also a wide variety of sake, but Hiroshima sake is the best choice. There are various flavors of sake, and it seems fun to compare them. I had a wonderful time. I always rely on this restaurant whenever I travel to Hiroshima. It's located about a 5-minute walk from Hatchobori Station. They serve lunch, but I usually go there for dinner. This time, I ordered thinly sliced conger eel, grilled oysters, and "Koune." The thinly sliced conger eel is so delicious, something you can't easily find in Tokyo. The grilled oysters are full of flavor. And "Koune" is the first cut of meat that locals in Hiroshima order for yakiniku. It's light and tasty. I wonder what it's called in Tokyo?

Ikebukuro, Toshima-ku, Tokyo. On this day, I met up with a former colleague after a long time and we toasted at this restaurant. It's a rare Hiroshima and Setouchi cuisine restaurant in the Kanto region. We chose this restaurant because my former colleague is from Hiroshima and has moved to the Kanto region, so I wanted him to enjoy a taste of his hometown even just a little bit. The sashimi dishes were directly delivered from Hiroshima and they were all very delicious. Speaking of Hiroshima (in my limited knowledge), we had oysters. We enjoyed them with Hiroshima craft beer like Hassaku Beer. Oh, there was a coupon on Tabelog for a free glass of draft beer for each person, so I showed it to the staff and got a free glass of beer without hesitation! Thank you for the meal.

Oyster rice set meal for 1450 yen at Seibu Ikebukuro B1 Dining Pavilion. This time, I decided to try the oyster rice dish. At the Dining Pavilion, you choose your dish in front of the store, pay in advance, and then sit at a table. The meal includes oyster rice in a bento box, 3 pieces of oyster fry, salad, rolled omelette, miso soup, and a dessert as a limited-time offer. The oyster rice had three plump oysters on top of the rice, and the oysters were flavorful. The oysters were not hot, so it seems like they were just placed on top of the rice after cooking. The kombu (kelp) tsukudani on top was a bit too strong in flavor, so be careful when eating it with the rice. The oyster fry had a crispy outer layer and a juicy oyster inside, making it delicious. Despite the small portion sizes, both the oyster rice and oyster fry were tasty and worth the price. I would like to visit the actual store to try their dishes in person.

My favorite izakaya restaurant. Naturally, they mainly serve Hiroshima cuisine! The red interior, unlike the team I support, makes me feel like I'm in the left field stand, secretly drinking sake. I personally love the grilled fish. I won't lose to the Carp! Thank you for the meal.

On a Monday evening, I visited this restaurant for the first time with 4 seniors. We opted for the 5,500 yen all-you-can-drink course in a private room. We started with a toast with draft beer! The appetizer was served on a plate shaped like a spatula. The taste was decent. The sashimi platter was fresh and generous. The salad was average. Grilled oysters and fresh oysters were served back to back! Both were delicious! Next, we had oden. We dissolved dried seaweed in the broth and enjoyed it together. It's a dish that seaweed lovers would appreciate, but the oden itself was just average. Then came the deep-fried taro and something else... The taro was fluffy, but we didn't finish the other item. For the finale, we had sea bream rice and miso soup. The soy sauce-based sea bream rice was a bit too salty. The miso soup lacked flavor. Considering the price, it was a satisfactory course. Thank you for the meal.

This is a Hiroshima cuisine restaurant. The price range is a bit high, and the atmosphere is calm. All the dishes are quite delicious. The beer is poured carefully and tastes great, with a wide selection of sake. I tried three different kinds and they were all delicious.

This shop near Ikebukuro Station is a must-visit for Carp fans. You can enjoy watching the game while having drinks and meals! The assorted sashimi, crispy bacon potato salad, mentaiko tempura, and wagyu hot pot are all delicious! There is also a wide variety of drinks available, making it a very enjoyable time. If the Carp win, you'll receive a half-price drink voucher for your next visit! I was really happy about that!

Once again, I visited a new restaurant for the first time ⸜( ´ ꒳ ` )⸝♡︎ It's a Hiroshima Setouchi cuisine...! Oh my...! How rare...!!! So, I came to see what kind of food they offer! ◉What I ate◉ Appetizer Sashimi Assortment Grilled oysters Bamboo shoots and Hiroshima greens with bacon peperoncino Grilled fava beans Okonomiyaki The appetizer is so cute~!!! If it's this stylish from the start, I feel like I can order anything else and it will be fine← First, Hiroshima's fresh fish!! Beautiful~ the freshness can be felt from the clear white flesh and color of the blue fish... of course, it's super delicious~♡♡♡ The fresh white flesh has a really great texture, right? And when it comes to Hiroshima, it has to be oysters!!! I usually have them raw, but I also love grilled oysters... slurp... when grilled, they have a different deliciousness...♡♡♡ For the finale, okonomiyaki!!! The rich sauce is generously poured over it, even though it's supposed to be the end, the alcohol just doesn't stop haha. The crispy fried noodles with a burnt crust on the iron plate go so well with the dough♡♡ On a side note... I heard that many people from Hiroshima get mad when you call it "Hiroshima-yaki"... Come to think of it, a friend of mine from Hiroshima once said, "Hiroshima is the birthplace of okonomiyaki!!" I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance while walking along the road across from the Marui building at the west exit of Ikebukuro Station. They were closed due to the state of emergency, but luckily they were open for lunch that day. I entered the restaurant and noticed they had two TVs, which was surprising. The staff welcomed me with a bright voice, but seemed busy with preparations. I ordered the sashimi set meal, which took about 20 minutes to arrive. Here is my review of the meal: - Miso soup: Aromatic and flavorful, not too salty. - Rice: Soft and slightly sticky, with small grains. - Side dish: Simmered daikon and pickled radish, an interesting combination. - Salad: Slightly dry, with okra and a good Japanese dressing. - Sashimi: Included sea bream, sea bass, tilefish, and swordfish. Fresh and well-prepared. - Soy sauce: Two types provided, one from Hiroshima and one regular. The Hiroshima soy sauce was richer. - Overall, the sashimi was fresh and delicious, especially the seared skin of the tilefish. After the meal, I found out they offer a daily special for 500 yen, as well as other affordable set meals like fried oyster and beef stew. The restaurant had a cozy atmosphere filled with Hiroshima Carp memorabilia, showing their love for the baseball team. I highly recommend this place for a satisfying and reasonably priced lunch experience.

I went to eat oysters as it's the season. I was thinking about how to eat them, but the vinegar oysters and miso pickled ones looked delicious, so I tried those with some Japanese sake. But the real surprise was the deep-fried taro, it was unexpectedly delicious! lol

I had been curious for a while, but recently I finally went to Ikebukuro. I was very happy to find seafood from the Seto Inland Sea. In particular, the small sardine tempura is a popular dish in my hometown that I rarely get to eat here, so I was delighted to have it again after a long time. I would like to go back during oyster season.

I'm not a Carp fan, but... I think it's been many years, maybe 10 or 15, since I last visited this place. I used to frequent the bar on the floor above this restaurant. As a regular in Ikebukuro West Exit, I often hear about this place. It's a Setouchi cuisine restaurant that prominently features the Hiroshima Carp. On days when the Carp win, special services are offered. The interior is filled with Carp memorabilia. In Ikebukuro, this place and "Akaki" in the East Exit are where Carp fans gather. But the local reputation for the food is also good. You can enjoy fresh Seto Inland Sea seafood. Due to the impact of the coronavirus, they started serving lunch. I visited during the day, so I wouldn't be surrounded by drunk Carp fans. I ordered the "Seto Inland Sea Sashimi Set" (1,000 yen) with an additional "Onomichi chirimen with shredded dried baby sardines" (100 yen) - as shown in the photo. The sashimi included sea bass, sea bream, mackerel, squid, and gurnard. They were all delicious and incredibly fresh. The knife work was meticulous, and the texture and flavors were delightful. The sashimi soy sauce options were a slightly sweet Hiroshima sashimi soy sauce and regular soy sauce. The Hiroshima soy sauce complemented the sweetness of the gurnard especially well. I also ordered the "shredded dried baby sardines with grated daikon", which was also delicious. The salad, pickles, and miso soup were all flavorful. I found myself wanting to savor the meal slowly rather than coming here to get drunk. My perception of this place has changed significantly. I didn't pay much attention to the Carp-themed surroundings and was able to focus on the meal. It was satisfying. Thank you for the meal. I wanted to rate it "3.8", but out of courtesy and considering the atmosphere, I gave it a "3.4". It's not because of the staff, the ambiance, or the clientele. It's just that I'm not a big fan of the Carp who shattered my childhood dreams. But I'm not an anti-fan either. Yamamoto, Koiyasu, Shane, Hopkins, Toyokiba... In the cold winter season, oyster hot pot is incredibly satisfying. I didn't know it could be this delicious. It's full of oysters and the broth is very rich. I can't stop eating. The grilled oysters are also delicious with firm meat. It was a great meal. Thank you.

I visited this restaurant for a drinking party with Carp fans. We made a reservation for 6:00 PM on a holiday night. We were seated in the back of the restaurant in a cozy sunken kotatsu table. We ordered the 4,000 yen course, and were pleasantly surprised by the luxurious dishes that kept coming one after another. The quality of the food far exceeded the price we paid. The portions were also generous. We left feeling very satisfied.

I found a great restaurant! They have a menu with matsutake mushrooms and conger eel with eggs that you won't find anywhere else. The mackerel was delicious too. However, the eel was a bit disappointing as it lacked the firm texture. Overall, it was a great meal! I will definitely go back.

It seems like a Hiroshima izakaya is being introduced, and Carp fans gather here. The appetizers come in a wooden bucket for some reason, and we enjoyed sashimi and oyster fry. We also tried various Hiroshima local sakes and had a great time. There are many other dishes besides okonomiyaki, it turns out!

I suddenly felt like eating oysters, so I visited this place. I was surprised to see oysters as the appetizer. They were served with yuzu miso sauce, which was a bit too salty for my liking. I ordered a platter of three types of raw oysters, grilled turban shell, and tempura. The oysters were very meaty and delicious! However, I felt like the sauce on top was unnecessary. It seemed to overpower the natural flavor of the oysters. For dessert, I ordered okonomiyaki, which was a great choice. I wanted to try the conger eel dishes as well, but I was too full. I definitely want to come back again.
