On a Sunday evening before sunset, I was excited for a rare night out in Akabane for drinks. I was recommended a black market by someone I met at a standing bar before, but it was crowded. So I decided to try Ikoi Honten instead. Unfortunately, it was also packed. Feeling a bit disheartened, I headed towards Ichiban-gai. All the popular places were full, and the less crowded ones didn't allow smoking. Feeling defeated, I remembered I had been to Agetencho 2nd branch before, so I decided to go there. The best thing about it is the cheap prices! I approached a staff member outside and asked if there were any seats available. The counter was full, so they asked if I was okay with a table. I felt bad taking up a table as a solo customer, but they insisted it was fine. I ordered the "Banchou" size highball immediately. You can get a mega-sized glass for only 300 yen! Along with the highball, they served a large portion of fried chicken and shrimp crackers as a complimentary appetizer. I knew about the appetizers, so I also ordered some edamame to balance out the greasy food. The fried chicken arrived quickly, so I started with the edamame first. The edamame was generously seasoned and served in a large bowl. It was slightly on the softer side but had a good taste. After finishing two "Banchou" highballs, I decided to splurge and ordered some shrimp mayo as well. The fried shrimp was crispy and plump, and the tangy mayo sauce complemented it perfectly. I even used the mayo sauce for the complimentary fried chicken! The rule was two "Banchou" highballs per person, so I switched to chu-hai for my next drink. Even with the extra order, the prices were incredibly cheap. I managed to finish everything, but my stomach was definitely full! I indulged in a lot of fried food, so I did suffer from a bit of indigestion later, but overall, I was completely satisfied. Thank you for the delicious meal.

(Before tomorrow, what are you doing~!? 2/3) Leaving the first place, "Maruyoshi," the two of us aimlessly wander the streets! Not heading straight home. Tomorrow, we have plans for a bar crawl, but we always end up drinking more than we intended, as usual... (sweat) We were curious about a neon-lit shop along the railway tracks, so we decided to visit "Chou Karaage Banchou." Like moths drawn to the neon lights, the old men also gather at the shop! The young girls working at the shop are trying harder than usual to attract customers, but due to the rain, there aren't many people around. We decided to enter the shop ourselves. We arrived at 18:20. The shop is small with a few terrace seats on the second and third floors. Due to the rainy weather, there aren't many customers. We decided to sit on the terrace to avoid lingering. We ordered the following menu items: [Menu for this visit] - Banchou-size Highball x2 (289 yen each) - Otoshi (appetizer) x2 (480 yen each) - Delicious Motsu-ni (stewed offal) 100 yen - Cold Tomato 299 yen We started with a Banchou-size (large jug) highball toast! The jug was quite heavy, almost requiring two hands for a woman to hold it. According to the staff, it's equivalent to three regular highballs! Impressive! [Otoshi] The shop's specialty! A very large piece of fried chicken. The crispy coating and tender juicy meat, flavored with soy sauce, were delicious. [Delicious Motsu-ni] A common dish at standing bars, priced at 100 yen. The offal was tender and flavorful, with a strong aroma. The radish and carrot were cooked in a rich, savory sauce. The shrimp senbei in the otoshi was also delicious when dipped in the motsu-ni broth. [Cold Tomato] The tomato was served in a chilled container, which was a nice touch! The slightly young tomato was crunchy and tasty. [Recommended dish] - Tomato! Fresh vegetables are delicious as you get older! [Editor's note] - Visit time Eatery score: 3.15 - The clientele seemed to be mostly young people. The shop is geared towards a younger crowd. - The highball didn't taste like "Kaku" (brand). - Despite the cheap highballs, the profits seemed to be made up through the otoshi... - The next morning, hungover!? [Rating for this visit] Overall: 3 Taste: 3 Service: 3.5 Atmosphere: 2.5 Value for money: 3 Drinks: 2.5 Thank you for the delicious food. Itadakimasu! Let's visit again next time♪ Where to next...?

Met a friend in Akabane for a trip planning meeting. After finishing at 12:30, we decided to grab a light drink, and chose this place. Located just a few minutes from Akabane East Exit, we found a table available on the terrace (or more like on the street) where young people were chatting. Upon entering, the staff informed us about the attention to the otoshi (appetizer) and that they only accept cash payments. We started with a regular highball (99 yen) and soon the otoshi arrived - two huge pieces of fried chicken bigger than a child's fist, along with shrimp senbei, all for 480 yen. It was quite a surprise and enough for fried food. We then ordered simmered dish, edamame, octopus with mustard, potato salad, pickled cucumbers, and other regular dishes. The quality of the food was as expected. The simmered dish for 100 yen was particularly good. We also switched to the larger size highball (three times the regular size) and felt quite happy. The place was packed, with customers unable to enter. After about 2 hours, we paid 6800 yen for all the drinks and food. The only downside was the inability to make reservations and the cash-only policy. However, if you focus on highballs, the cost performance is quite good. The staff were friendly and efficient, so I really liked it.

I arrived at the restaurant around 3 pm on Saturday. Even though it was raining, the inside of the restaurant was full, so I sat at an outside table. I saw on the menu that they had a mega-sized jock, which was a great deal, so I ordered the "Banchou Highball." The staff kindly advised me to consider ordering because a large portion of fried chicken would be served as a side dish. The highball arrived promptly and was satisfying with a strong carbonation. The fried chicken and shrimp senbei that came as a side dish were indeed large. The simmered tripe for 100 yen had an authentic taste despite being served in a small dish. The rolled omelet was firm and salty, and the grated radish was coarse and delicious. The chicken nanban, priced at around 500 yen, was very filling. I had a total of 3 mega-sized highballs, and the quality remained consistent. When the Banchou jock ran out, the staff promptly asked if I wanted another, but there was no pressure. The staff, who were mostly cheerful, gave off a good impression. Orders were taken without any delays. If you're in Senbero for the snacks, this place is perfect. The outdoor seating was comfortable even in this season, and they provided shelter from the rain. Overall, the drinks had great value for money. The Banchou Highball is definitely one of the best deals. The food, especially the fried chicken, was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, making it a great accompaniment to the highball. The snacks were all reasonably priced and maintained good quality, which is exactly what you'd expect from a Senbero experience. It was early when I visited, so I was able to get a table, but I imagine it gets busy during the evening on holidays due to its popularity. If it's not too crowded, I would definitely recommend this place.

Akabane is a famous area for cheap drinking spots, and this restaurant is a must-visit for those looking to drink affordably. Their biggest selling points are the "99 yen highballs" and the "huge portion of fried chicken as a side dish." Even if you're not very hungry, this place is perfect for cheap drinks. The fried chicken is not only huge but also delicious, making you want to order more. The atmosphere and staff are great, and the other dishes are also reasonably priced. The highball in a large glass is a must-try for those who love to drink.

This eye-catching shop, which opened in April of this year, has a terrace seating area and attracts a younger crowd. The "Kaku Highball Boss Size" is priced at 289 yen, while a regular glass is priced at 99 yen, which is quite unusual. Since this was our fourth stop, we couldn't finish everything and left a little bit behind. The staff mentioned, "Our complimentary dish is a large piece of fried chicken, so please take a look at that before ordering any other food." Wow! It's really huge!! Not only is it large, but the well-seasoned meat is juicy and freshly fried. Very satisfying! Following the staff's advice, after eating the fried chicken, there was no room left for other dishes. In the end, with just the complimentary dish and the highball, it cost about 800 yen per person. For those who want to indulge in fried chicken, this is the place to go first.

There are two branches of Senbero Izakaya Karaage Banchou Akabane. I recently visited the newly opened one. The appetizer was a large piece of juicy karaage marinated in garlic soy sauce. The presentation may not be fancy, but it was delicious. The other dishes were decent as well. It's a casual izakaya with affordable and tasty food. If you're looking for a lively place to drink and eat without any fuss, this is a good option.

During the summer to autumn season, there are pleasant terrace seats available, and it's located just a little off from Akabane Ichibangai, making it easy to enter. The proud karaage served as a complimentary dish was so delicious that it could almost be considered the main dish! This kind of restaurant has a Akabane-like charm that I really love. The waitress was also cheerful and friendly, making the experience even more wonderful. ♡

I decided to go to this restaurant because a friend's acquaintance works there. The appetizer was a large-sized fried chicken, and if you answer a multiple-choice question from the staff correctly, the topping will be free. The large-sized highball was affordable and I was able to drink it cost-effectively.

A new Ne0-Heisei izakaya opened in the drinking district north of Akabane Station East Exit. This place is all about karaage (fried chicken). The staff are friendly and welcoming, making it easy for even young female customers to feel comfortable. Highballs are only 99 yen! They serve a complimentary portion of karaage as an appetizer, and if you order a Mega Jockey drink, you can participate in a quiz to win extra karaage toppings. The karaage pieces are generously sized, perfectly fried to a crispy golden brown, and not too greasy. It's true that you can enjoy a solid night of drinking for just around 1,000 yen!

I went to the company with my colleagues after work. The rumors were true, the appetizer fried chicken was substantial. It was soft, well-seasoned, and delicious. The alcohol was also cheap, making it a great deal.

Added image! As always, great cost performance at Mega Jokki. We enjoyed drinking and ordered a good amount of snacks for around 5200 yen for 3 people. The interior was well air-conditioned, although the seats were a bit cramped, it was tolerable.

The fried chicken comes as a complimentary appetizer, served in a big fist-sized portion. It tastes like traditional fried chicken when eaten as is. If you answer a quiz correctly, you get a topping. A regular size highball costs 99 yen! The boss size has a lot of weight, maybe due to the ice. The daikon fried chicken, known for its high repeat rate, was so good that we ordered it twice. I'm thinking of going back again!
