On a holiday night, four of us went to "Kiyomon" at Yushima Station. It is located on the 4th floor of a building next to Don Quijote. We made a reservation through the Tabelog website. Upon entering, the restaurant was full of customers having small banquets, creating a lively atmosphere. We were there for the "lamb" dishes. They offer lamb "back ribs" and "leg roast", and we ordered the larger leg roast for 6,690 yen. The menu stated it was for 5-6 people. After a while, a barbecue grill with charcoal was brought in and we started grilling the lamb. It's like playing Monster Hunter, turning the handle and grilling the meat. However, when the meat was slightly cooked, it was taken to the kitchen and brought back as sliced pieces for us to grill on the table. I remember on a previous visit, the staff would cut the meat at the table after grilling it to the right doneness, but that service seemed to have ended. The meat was enjoyed with their original sauce, spices, and cumin. The taste wasn't too strong, but the fatty parts definitely had a distinct lamb flavor that lamb enthusiasts would appreciate. It might get a bit monotonous with just lamb, so I recommend trying other Chinese dishes on the menu. They also have a good selection of all-you-can-drink courses. Overall, it was a satisfying meal! #Okachimachi #Ueno #Yushima #ChineseCuisine #LambDish #GrilledLamb #Kiyomon #Tabelog #Ron2941 #Foodie #SakeLover #FoodieTraveler

Today's lunch special was different from last time, as they had eggplant with spicy sauce instead of mapo tofu. It was a Saturday afternoon but the restaurant wasn't crowded. We also ordered the lamb teppanyaki, which came with a whopping 300g of lamb meat for only 1300 yen. It was surprisingly cheap. The meat was served with a red powder, which I assume was cumin, but I didn't use it as I'm not a fan of the strong smell. I recommend trying the meat without the powder at first, as it really brings out the flavor. For those who like it, go ahead and add the powder! I was a bit skeptical about the cheap price and large portion of meat, wondering if it was leftover from the night before, but I was pleasantly surprised. The lamb meat had no strong smell and tasted delicious! I suggest trying it with just the sauce and without the powder. The meat had a chewy texture with some tough parts, but overall it was flavorful. Unlike other places that use strong sauce to mask the smell of lamb, this place serves fresh and tasty meat. The sauce was not too salty and paired well with the meat. The eggplant with spicy sauce had a slightly strong garlic flavor, which I found a bit overpowering compared to the mapo tofu from last time. The portion size was huge, more suitable for men, so I recommend asking for less rice if you prefer a smaller portion. Overall, the chef's seasoning was excellent and I really enjoyed the meal. I will definitely come back to this place!

Back grilled, plenty for 3 people! I see, the course can only be reserved for 4 people or more, I understand. When you bite into the delicious meat and eat around the bone, you can taste the deep flavor of the lamb. The other side dishes were also incredibly delicious. The lamb dumplings have a delicious soup inside, like xiaolongbao! The lamb pie also had a subtle flavor of lamb mince and cumin... so delicious. Even though we were already full, we all wanted to try the lamb fried rice, so we were worried if we could finish it, but in the end, we did. Since the whole roasted lamb was the main dish, next time I want to try a variety of side dishes.

I prefer dishes with a little more flavor. I felt that the richness and saltiness were lacking. The staff at the restaurant said it wouldn't be delicious if it wasn't spicy. Rabbit and frog taste similar to chicken, light and refreshing. Lamb has a slight smell to it. Chinese cuisine and Chinese food are apparently different! If you mistakenly refer to Chinese cuisine as Chinese food at a Chinese restaurant, it might offend them.

I used it for a company dinner. Extremely satisfied. Even the blue vinegar pickled garlic was amazing. The lamb chops had more volume than I expected, but they were so delicious with no gamey taste at all, and the meat was refreshing. The spicy mustard for seasoning the meat was made with a variety of spices, which paired perfectly with the meat. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others.

A genuine Chinese restaurant that often serves lamb dishes in the inland areas of China. It is not Japanese-style at all, unlike what you would find in Chinatown. In addition to lamb, they also offer rabbit, frog, silkworm, crayfish, and other ingredients that you don't see every day, making the menu exciting just to look at. The taste may vary depending on personal preference, but the experience is truly unique and enjoyable.

The other day, I visited a restaurant with a business partner I used to work with in China. We chose this restaurant not only for the quality of the food but also because it was more hygienic compared to other authentic Chinese restaurants. Since there were four of us, we made a reservation for the "Xi Course". The main dish, "Grilled Lamb Back", looked hearty and the fresh raw meat was appetizing. They brought the meat uncut first, allowed us to confirm the state before cutting it in the kitchen and bringing it to us. After seasoning lightly with salt and pepper, the cut meat was for us to grill to our liking. I recommend grilling it medium rare for a juicy and flavorful taste. When you bite into it, you can taste the rich meat flavor along with the tender texture of the lamb, which melts in your mouth. The seasoning provided with the meat, including cumin and chili, had a perfect balance, enhancing the flavor without overwhelming it. In addition to the main dish, dishes like "Spicy Lamb Tripe Salad" and "Stir-fried Shrimp and Asparagus" added color to the table. The "Fried Bread" with condensed milk and the dessert "Almond Tofu" were also authentic and delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful, maintaining a good balance of friendliness and professionalism. The meal progressed smoothly, allowing us to enjoy our conversation. The price of the "Xi Course" was \5500 (including tax), making it a reasonable expense for business entertainment. Overall, the grilled lamb at this restaurant is definitely worth trying. The delicious food, excellent service, and the ability to use it as a business expense make it an attractive choice. It is a perfect place for special occasions. Highly recommended!

A place where you can eat plenty of lamb meat at a reasonable price for the amount of food you get, it's so satisfying that you might think you've stepped into the world of Monster Hunter. The way to eat the meat is with spicy and tangy sauces, which really stimulates the appetite. I was able to eat more than I expected. I found a great restaurant. #Kiyoromon #UenoGourmet #TokyoGourmet #WantToConnectWithFoodies

My friend who wanted to eat meat left the restaurant choice to me, so I suggested a yakiniku place. However, they chose a restaurant that served lamb instead. I was not a fan of lamb, but we went anyway. The restaurant was located on the 5th floor of a building across from Ueno Park. The atmosphere was lively, with grills on each table and people enjoying a variety of dishes and large chunks of meat. We ordered a couple of portions of lamb, which was brought out in chunks and then cut and grilled at our table. The meat had little to no gamey flavor and went well with the cumin and hot sauce provided. We were quite full from the meat alone. We also ordered stir-fried pea shoots, which were crunchy and delicious. Just when we thought we were done, a huge platter of meat arrived. We grilled the meat with the bones attached, and while it didn't have a strong lamb flavor, there was a distinct aroma that lingered in our mouths and noses. Overall, the restaurant was filled with Chinese-speaking patrons, and the Chinese cuisine was different from what we were used to. It was a unique experience, and I would recommend it to lamb enthusiasts.

When you enter the shop, it no longer feels like Japan. It's China. There are many foreign staff and customers. I was excited to try the roasted lamb legs, but the performance was short-lived as they quickly collected the meat after just 1 minute. They promptly cut it up and brought it back. Well, I guess it makes sense. If we had to wait for it to cook, we'd never get to eat it. I regained my excitement and continued to grill the meat. It was served with a sauce similar to Sriracha and a powder like chili. The spicy flavor paired well with the wild taste of the lamb. It was very delicious. The other salads and stir-fries were also delicious overall. The only disappointment was that they took away the bones before I could quickly grill them at the end. I wanted to grill them...the meat around the bones is the best part. For those planning to visit this restaurant, please be careful.

This is China! Enjoy authentic cuisine in Ueno on Mimi Day. The restaurant is mostly filled with Chinese people. The staff can speak Japanese but mostly speak Chinese. The atmosphere is lively, like being on a trip. I came for the mutton, but ended up ordering rabbit due to Mimi Day. The rabbit meat tastes like a mix of pork and chicken. There are many unique menu items that were a bit intimidating. Personally, I highly recommend the university sweet potato made with nagaimo. It's tastier than regular sweet potatoes! Try it for dessert. Next time, I will come back for the mutton!

There are no Japanese customers. Don't worry about the seasoning or the authenticity of the staff. You can turn the meat like in Monster Hunter and say, "It's cooked well!"... Well, in reality, it takes too long to cook, so they take it to the back to cook it and bring it back. I like the authentic taste. The menu was mostly in Chinese, so I didn't understand it and left it to my friend.

I visited the Chinese restaurant "Kiyamomon Ueno" on the 5th floor of a building about a 2-minute walk from Keisei Ueno Station around 11:00 a.m. on a certain day in November 2022. The restaurant, which is of a comfortable size, was about 30% full. I sat alone at a spacious table and ordered the "Lamb and Cumin Fried Rice" for ¥1,100 from the lunch menu. A complimentary drink was included, so I requested an iced coffee. I was served the iced coffee first and enjoyed it while waiting for my meal. The dish was served in about 12-13 minutes. It included a generous portion of lamb and cumin fried rice, along with salad, soup, and dessert. I sampled the salad with sesame dressing before digging into the flavorful lamb and cumin fried rice. The dish had a rich flavor with a strong cumin aroma, and the lamb's taste was not overpowering, complemented well by the sweetness and saltiness of soy sauce. There was cumin on the table to enhance the aroma further. The soup was a creamy egg soup with a hint of tomato that paired nicely with the soy sauce-flavored fried rice. Although the lamb and cumin fried rice had a somewhat monotonous flavor, it was consistently delicious. The dish contained enough lamb for a satisfying texture. I finished with almond jelly for dessert and a cup of iced coffee to cleanse my palate. It was a very satisfying lunch in terms of portion size. I believe that enjoying a delicious fried rice dish in a spacious restaurant for ¥1,100 is a good deal. I would definitely like to visit "Kiyamomon" again.

First visit on November 15th (Tuesday) <Entry time> 12:30 <Crowdedness> It was empty. I made a reservation and visited, but the seats were empty. The restaurant is spacious, so there were still plenty of seats available. <Atmosphere> The interior of the restaurant has several large tables with a Chinese-themed decor. <Staff> The staff are of Chinese descent, but the service was a bit indifferent. Some of them seemed a bit careless. <Order> Beef fried rice, Jajangmyeon, Corn pancake, Wasabi sauce with clams, Pak Choi salad <Arrival time> Average. Each dish took about 10 minutes. <Taste> - Beef fried rice: A flavorful fried rice with a generous portion. The finely sliced beef mixed in was delicious. - Jajangmyeon: Sweet rather than spicy. The noodles had a nice chew to them. - Wasabi sauce with clams: A large portion of clams. The tangy-sweet soy-based sauce coated the clams well. - Pak Choi salad: A salad with plenty of Pak Choi, almonds, and cucumbers. It was quite spicy due to the chili peppers. The almonds added a nice touch. - Corn pancake: Unlike Korean style, it was crispy with a thin fried batter. Sprinkled with sugar, it tasted like a sweet dessert. It had a delicious sweet and salty flavor. <Overall evaluation> A rating *Personal rating criteria (Please consider this as a personal and subjective evaluation): S rating (90 points and above): A must-try deliciousness. Highly recommended to everyone. Willing to go multiple times. A rating (80 points and above): Delicious. Passable level. A priority choice when selecting a restaurant. B rating (60-80 points): Could consider going again. C rating (40-60 points): Not likely to go on my own. D rating (below 40 points): Probably won't go again.

Title as sheep meat selling shop. Visited during lunchtime and ordered a lunch set while watching people grilling chunks of sheep meat in the afternoon. Sheep tonkatsu was rare, so I ordered the lunch set. It took about 20 minutes for the dish to arrive. The meat was not so much delicious with the sweetness of fat like tonkatsu, but rather it was enjoyable to chew on the lean meat and savor the meat juice that comes out. The fried rice was moist and disappeared before I knew it, a truly outstanding dish. I look forward to visiting again to try the chunk of meat next time.

There is a restaurant located on the 5th floor of a building about a 3-minute walk from Ueno Station. It has a Chinese vibe and offers a variety of lamb dishes. I tried the whole roasted lamb leg this time. They showed me the process of roasting the meat, and then sliced it in the kitchen. The meat was tender and tasted great with the spices. It had no gamey taste and was very fresh. I also tried the lamb offal, which was spicy and delicious. It goes well with cumin and is perfect with drinks. And most importantly, it's very affordable.

I think I have been to Hitsujiya, Ueno, and Yushima shops around ten times in total. I always come for lunch and I am always satisfied. This time, I visited after going to the Ueno Western Art Museum, around 2 pm. I tried the beef noodle lunch for the first time. It came with salad, dessert (almond jelly), and a drink (I chose iced coffee) for only 800 yen, which is cheap. The pricing around Ueno seems to be reasonable. Now, about the beef noodles. The beef had a good flavor and was delicious. The soup also had a nice taste, but it was a bit mild. I think it would be closer to the authentic taste if they added a bit more star anise, but this flavor might be more suitable for Japanese people. This taste is addictive.

I had some business in Ueno and decided to have lunch at "Chugoku Ryori Kiyoromon" as introduced by Arashi's Ninomiya-kun on his show. It's a Chinese restaurant that serves lamb dishes. It's located on the 5th floor of a building along Shinobazu Street, just a 3-minute walk from Ueno Station Shinobazu Exit. The elevator opened to a Chinese-style interior. It was still before 12 pm so there were only a few customers, allowing us to choose our seats freely. I decided to try the Lamb with Cumin Stir-fry for ¥1200. The lunch menu had a variety of lamb dishes to choose from. The portion was generous even for the regular size, and the cumin flavor was strong and delicious. It also had vegetables like bok choy and onions, making it easy to eat. The soup was thick and had a refreshing salty taste. It was a satisfying meal.

On Monday, I stopped by Ueno for lunch between my morning and evening work. While "Ma La Xue" in Ueno caught my eye, I also came across a Chinese restaurant called "Kiyomon" on Sunday's "Nino-san" show and decided to check it out. The main store is in Yushima, and the Ueno branch is its affiliate. The clean interior of the restaurant impressed me. The variety of lamb and rabbit dishes overwhelmed me, but since I was dining alone, I opted for the affordable lunch menu. Although I was tempted by the "Lamb Offal Soup," I decided to go with my favorite "Cumin Lamb" this time. It's essentially lamb stir-fried with cumin. The portion was quite generous. The rice portion was also substantial, and the lamb stir-fry included bok choy. The soup, flavored with sesame oil, was delicious. The almond jelly was of the chewy variety, which isn't my favorite, but all the dishes had generous portions, making it understandable why this place is popular among hungry salarymen. The lamb in the cumin lamb dish had no gamey taste, was tender, and delicious! Even those who are not fond of lamb might think, "Huh? This is lamb?" The seasoning was slightly strong, perfect for pairing with rice. Moreover, the mound of rice was cooked perfectly and was so tasty that it alone was satisfying. Next time, I want to gather lamb enthusiasts and try various items from the regular menu!

The lunch menu at the restaurant had lamb cutlets at the top, which was unusual so I decided to try it. It was my first time eating lamb cutlets. It came with a drink, and when I ordered orange juice, it turned out to be bigger than I expected! The service at this restaurant is really good. The lamb cutlets arrived with soup, salad, and almond jelly. Under the cutlets, there were vegetables which added a lot of fiber to the meal. You can add sauce, a spicy sauce, and spices from a separate dish to your liking. The spices from the separate dish were surprisingly delicious. When you put them on the rice, it gives a feeling of eating curry, which was quite interesting. The lamb cutlets themselves were delicious. They had a good balance of crispy coating and meat thickness, and the fat content was moderate without being tough. The portion size was also satisfying. Thank you for the meal.

On the second day of the Spring Festival, my Chinese friend wanted to try delicious lamb dishes, so we visited Xi Yang Men in Ueno. The lamb with cumin was the most delicious. In Taiwan, cumin is not commonly used, so I was surprised by the taste when I first visited China. It took a little while to cook the lamb. The Chinese staff were also very kind. Bon appétit! Thank you, I'm full.

Ebi lettuce fried rice for 800 yen. Today, I had lunch in Ueno. There are two Koyamon restaurants nearby, and I have visited the one in Yushima a few times, but this was my first visit here. I entered at 11:44 am, with 12 customers already inside and 7 behind me. There were many lunch menu options, so I had a hard time deciding. Since I had been eating ramen recently, I ordered the ebi lettuce fried rice. A complimentary drink was included, so I asked for hot coffee. Surprisingly, the coffee arrived first even before the meal. I waited for about 7 minutes while sipping on the coffee. The fried rice looked different from what I expected, which was a bit disappointing. It also had more volume than I anticipated, making me a little worried if I could finish it (I have a small appetite). The fried rice had shrimp, lettuce, purple cabbage, egg, and green onions. It was cooked perfectly and had a delicious flavor, so I enjoyed it. The Chinese soup included egg, seaweed, carrots, and tofu, with a tempting aroma of sesame oil. Although I felt the portion of fried rice was large, I managed to finish it. I was satisfied and full. It was a delicious meal. Visited for lunch on December 2, 2021. Rating: 3.36
