At the Shinjuku Sushi Main Store, located right by Shinjuku-sanchome Station in Tokyo, they offer the Sumire (violet) sushi set for 980 yen. The restaurant has been in business for 60 years, and even during the pandemic, they have not raised their prices, which is admirable. There is another branch near Shinjuku Station West Exit, but I personally prefer the main store for lunch. When I arrived at 12:30, about 70% of the seats were filled, and my sushi set with miso soup was served in just over 5 minutes. The set included 10 pieces of nigiri sushi, with a good balance of rice and toppings. The miso soup, flavored with dashi stock, had only wakame seaweed today, but it was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

I visited a sushi restaurant for lunch in the past. My niece and I had a lunch date and wanted to eat sushi, so we changed our plans from Asakusa to Shinjuku at the last minute. We arrived at 1:00 PM and there were 2 groups waiting, but we were seated at the counter without much of a wait. We started with some beer and talked about old times and current situations while ordering sashimi. Unfortunately, they were out of mackerel, but everything else was fresh. My niece ate the sushi, so I forgot to take photos. It seemed like they were short-staffed as the service in the dining area was a bit slow. Overall, we had a great time. Thank you for the meal.

After getting off at Shinjuku 3-chome station, I had dinner here for the first time in a while. Each dish had a special touch and the Japanese sake kept flowing. I finished off with nigiri sushi and felt satisfied. Next time, I might bring my family to enjoy some sushi together.

I visited with a friend after shopping. The restaurant has a decent number of seats, and it's convenient that you can get in even with a same-day reservation. One of the good things about the restaurant is that they have dishes like sprout onion and natto rolls. We were able to eat delicious food at a reasonable price! I would like to visit again if I have the chance.

Saturday 12:00 Lunchtime I had a bottle of beer and sake to start the day energetically. - Bottle of beer - Sake "Shichiken" - Sake "Ugokuno Tsuki" - Iced green tea - Grated long yam with wasabi (660 yen) Light and crispy to nibble on with chopsticks. - Sushi restaurant's special bomb (2200 yen) Sushi with plenty of toppings, mixed with natto and sea urchin for a salty flavor, no need for soy sauce, wrapped in seaweed. - White fish assortment (2420 yen) Mild but flavorful white fish. - White shrimp sashimi (2000 yen) A bit small in portion but deliciously tender. - Today's grilled fish collar (880 yen) Not much to eat! - Anago sushi. Anago portion seems a bit small? I wish there was more. - Nigiri sushi "Gokumi" (5500 yen) Various types available, but the most expensive "Gokumi" had plenty of sea urchin, salmon roe, and a small dish of white fish. I asked to switch the white fish to my favorite scallops. It was delicious, but maybe I drank too much or ate too much? The value for money might not be great. The foreigner next to me was excited when the sushi arrived, taking lots of photos, but ended up leaving the scallops, sea urchin, and salmon roe. Since they left the sea urchin, I gestured for them to try it, and they made a surprised face after trying it. It seems they are not used to the taste. What a waste... I thought it was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

I arrived just before 6 pm on Friday without a reservation, and luckily got in before they stopped accepting more customers! I ordered the Bakudan sushi platter, and then I could order individual pieces of sushi as much as I wanted. The sushi was a bit pricey but tasted really good. The Bakudan sushi had my favorite sea urchin, which made me really happy. I'm not very knowledgeable about sake, so I asked the staff for a recommendation, but it seemed like they weren't very knowledgeable either, which was a bit disappointing.

We had visited the shop at the west entrance a few times before, but this time we got off at Shinjuku Sanchome and visited the main store here for the first time with my wife. The sardines we ordered as an appetizer were delicious with plenty of fat. My wife enjoyed the cream cheese with sake lees topping. It was still daytime, so we ordered our favorite sushi early. The sardines were so delicious that we ordered them twice. However, overall, I felt that the sushi had too strong vinegar in the rice, and the toppings were overshadowed. I think it's just a matter of personal preference. We drank two 300ml bottles of sake, ate until we were full, and the total bill for two people was a little over 12,000 yen. Thank you for the meal.

I had some time before meeting up, so I decided to stop by this shop. I came straight from the gym, so I must look a bit sweaty. Oh, I didn't realize that the main branch of "Shinjuku Sushi" was located here. It brings back memories of when a customer I used to favor took me to the Shinjuku Nishiguchi branch of Sushi Sushi a few times. Those were good times. I had the chance to visit here twice before, and I'm happy to be able to visit again this time. And the portions are so reasonable! It's nice to be able to eat at the counter. In Tokyo, sushi is usually so expensive that I've only been to conveyor belt sushi places. When I want to eat delicious sushi, the prices are eye-watering. But for some reason, I'm more willing to spend on French cuisine. Maybe it's because I grew up in the countryside where I could eat delicious sushi like crazy. Uni, abalone, fatty tuna, salmon roe, etc. A seafood paradise. Both the fish and the rice are delicious! I would definitely like to visit again. Phew, I'm so full. Thank you for the meal.

"Sushi set (3 servings) for 8800 yen. Second visit. Relatively easy to get in, but the sushi is delicious. There is also a second floor, which is often not crowded. They have a variety of appetizers and drinks, making it easy to stay longer with a cozy atmosphere."

I think because I only know about the Nishi-Shinjuku location, it was the first time I saw the "Bara Chirashi" on the weekday lunch menu. It was described as having 20 colors, and although I don't think my photo does it justice, it had a vibrant appearance and delicious taste. The balance of vinegar rice and toppings was delicious, and I devoured the bowl. It comes with miso soup, and the diced egg in the soup adds a fun texture to each bite. Unlike the disappearing act of shredded egg omelette, the "Bara Chirashi" is a far cry from that. It's a dish you won't find at a conveyor belt sushi place, so I highly recommend trying it out by splurging a few extra hundred yen.

I went to the Isetan department store event on a Sunday afternoon and afterwards, feeling hungry, stumbled upon this place. Among many bars in the area, this one stood out with its bright lighting and clear menu displayed outside. Inside, there were regulars at one end of the counter, a couple who seemed like tourists at the other end, and two chefs behind the counter. One of them was working on preparing tuna belly. I ordered Kohada and tuna belly rolls first because they looked delicious. The interior of the restaurant seemed clean after a renovation a few years ago, but also had a slightly cluttered feel. There were regulars at the counter drinking since noon, engaging in lively conversations with the chefs, who handled it with grace, a unique aspect of this sushi restaurant. Located near Shinjuku Sanchome, close to Isetan, this place looks nice but has the atmosphere of a local sushi joint. The sushi rice was slightly soft with a firm core, maintaining a good balance. The order included Kohada, 4 pieces of Tai, Kampachi, Akami, scallop, mackerel, 2 pieces of tuna belly rolls, herring, and cucumber, along with a jug of green tea (extra charge), all for ¥3,750, which I found to be reasonable.

■Usage SceneVisited on a Saturday afternoon.■Order1 serving of "Fuji" sushi for 2,200 yen including tax.■ImpressionsThis sushi restaurant is located near a crossroads in Shinjuku San-chome. Please be careful not to confuse it with the other two Eizushi locations in Shinjuku (this main branch and the Nishiguchi branch) ⚠️ (I made the same mistake at first, haha). I ordered the "Fuji" sushi, which is the most affordable option among the 4 types of sushi servings available (ordered from highest to lowest price: "Kiwami" → "Botan" → "Fuji" → "Ume"). Here is the lineup of sushi available:Medium fatty tunaKanpachiRed tunaScallopSea eelHorse mackerelEggWhite shrimpSalmon roeWhite shrimp gunkanI tried the white shrimp gunkan for the first time. It was lighter and more refreshing than regular shrimp, and it was delicious! The atmosphere inside the restaurant had a traditional Edo-style sushi feel, and both the table and counter seats were comfortable for a relaxed dining experience. I heard there is also a second floor, so it seems like they have a good number of seats available.■Location & AccessA 2-minute walk from exit C3 of Shinjuku San-chome Station.

A long-established sushi restaurant with a history of about 60 years. I finally visited this place that I have been curious about for a while! It was late lunchtime on the weekend, but the restaurant was full and we had to wait for the second group. A family of four with children was ahead of us, but they were seated at the counter because it became available first. I only saw the first floor, which had about 11 counter seats and three 4-seater table seats, making it quite cramped. There were regular customers at each seat, enjoying sushi and drinks during the daytime. I ordered the "Fuji" set (2,200 yen, 10 pieces of sushi + miso soup). After about 15 minutes of waiting, the sushi was served in a wooden geta (shoe) plate! The sushi included medium fatty tuna, sea bream, lean tuna, yellowtail, sardine, conger eel, ikura gunkan, shrimp gunkan, scallop, and tamago. - Sea Bream: Refreshing white fish with a nicely aged texture. - Scallop: Thick and sweet, providing a good bite. - Sardine: Fresh with good fat and melts in the mouth quickly, without any strange fishy taste. - Shrimp Gunkan: Not very memorable. - Lean Tuna: Decent but nothing special. - Yellowtail: Fresh and oily, with a quick melt-in-your-mouth sensation. - Shrimp Gunkan: A seasonal delight with the unique sticky sweetness of white shrimp. - Medium Fatty Tuna: Good balance of fat and umami, offering decent quality for the price. - Conger Eel: Fluffy texture with a touch of the restaurant's craftsmanship. - Tamago: A well-balanced egg dish with a dashi and sweet flavor, a perfect ending. The complimentary miso soup was unexpectedly high-quality with a shrimp-based broth, making me smile. I will definitely visit again when I go to Shinjuku next time!

Sushi restaurant near Shinjuku Sanchome, close to Suehirotei. It's a good place to enjoy sushi casually when you feel like it. The atmosphere is more suitable for a casual drinking party or solo dining, rather than for business meetings or dates. I went alone this day and had seasonal dishes like simmered clams and katsuo, which left me satisfied. Thank you for the meal!

Had dinner at Shinjuku Sushi, located near Shinjuku Sanchome Station. Enjoyed a 10-piece nigiri set of authentic Edomae sushi at a reasonable price. Reservations are required for the second-floor table seats. It was cherry blossom season, so I was glad I made a reservation. The sushi was delicious and I left feeling very satisfied. My client who I brought along also seemed pleased.

I was lucky to make it just in time for lunch at my favorite restaurant, Eizushi Honten in Shinjuku Sanchome. They serve lunch until 4:00 pm on weekdays. The restaurant is always packed with customers since they are open all day. There were three lunch options available that day, and I chose the "Tsubaki" nigiri set, which was under 1500 yen including tax. It was a perfect lunch for someone with a big appetite, with overflowing ikura, anago, and other fresh Edo-style sushi. The tuna, ikura on gunkan, and tamago and tekka maki were all delicious. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

After shopping, I felt like eating sushi so I visited this restaurant. I noticed the bright interior of the street-side shop when I came to eat at the third street. I initially thought there was only one floor, so the number of seats would be quite limited. However, it turns out there are 70 seats, including downstairs. When I sat at the counter, I saw a sign that seemed to have been there for years, indicating that this restaurant has been in business in this area for a long time. The sushi selection is mainly traditional, with a limited variety of shellfish, but seasonal items are also recommended. The seafood was fresh, the white fish was delicious, and even the pickled ginger was tasty. Although I didn't feel like trying the tuna, there were no disappointing items. Prices range from 165 yen per piece to 880 yen for sea urchin, making it wallet-friendly. I also tried the crab miso, which was delicious, and ended up enjoying some hot sake from Kagetsu. Considering the location, quality, and prices, I think this is a restaurant worth keeping in mind.

Visited for the first time with an acquaintance for lunch on the weekend. Located just a short walk from the C3 exit of Shinjuku Sanchome Station. It was around noon, so there were many people dining alone at the counter or in groups of two or three, taking turns entering the restaurant. Although many preferred the counter seats, we wanted to enjoy our meal slowly while sipping cold sake, so we opted for a table. Our initial order included: - Ikura (salmon roe) appetizer - Anago (conger eel) appetizer with grilled seaweed - Special sashimi platter with 8 varieties - Toro-taku (fatty tuna and pickled radish) roll However, the ikura and fresh uni served with the sashimi were delicious! It was my first time trying ikura alone, and it paired perfectly with the sake. The uni was fresh, with no fishy smell, and had a vibrant color, making it exquisite. However, the toro-taku roll had a slight hint of the knife's scent, so I decided to switch to nigiri instead of ordering more. You can choose the nigiri toppings individually, and I made sure to include ikura and uni every time. The crab and scallops were also fresh and delightful, fitting the season perfectly. The drink menu was limited, as expected from a sushi restaurant, but the variety of nigiri toppings was extensive. Thank you for the meal.

It is very cost-effective to be able to eat sushi of this level for just over 1000 yen. You can also order seasonal seafood, so I would like to try it next time I go. The restaurant was lively. However, due to the location in Shinjuku, there may be people with strong smells like perfume.

I arrived around 18:30 on Saturday and was able to get in just as a turnover was happening. It was almost full. I had the plum sushi. I used to not like raw squid, but I was able to eat it today here!! I usually don't like the smell or slimy texture, but there was none of that and it was really delicious. It's so tasty for this price, the cost performance is amazing!! ◆Plum (¥1,100)

Today's business meeting went very well, so I feel like having a delicious drink and meal. I went to Sushi Sakae with the client. We ordered whale bacon, salted hoya, and assorted sashimi, and toasted with draft beer! The whale bacon had an amazing texture as expected. The salted hoya was prepared so well that it had no unpleasant smell and was exquisite. It was my first time trying such delicious hoya. The assorted sashimi included lean tuna, medium fatty tuna, sweet shrimp, horse mackerel, salmon, sea bream, and tamagoyaki, all very fresh and deliciously firm and juicy. Since we were still a little hungry, we ordered grilled fish collar, which had a solid flesh with a crispy and fresh taste, showing the skill of the chef. We finished with a 10-piece sushi set. The conversation flowed well, and we were able to discuss more personal topics that we couldn't at the business table, making it a very meaningful dinner. I will definitely come back again! ♬
