Our drink of choice was Dragon Highball. Everything was not too greasy and had a mild flavor. After the meal, we were served almond tofu and oolong tea jelly as a complimentary dessert. We ended up having around 8 drinks between the two of us, so the bill was reasonable. We will definitely come back!

Ikebukuro's Chinese restaurant. I'm not familiar with the location because I was taken there, but this restaurant is on the 3rd floor of a building. First, we had the jellyfish appetizer. It was delicious, although the crunchy texture I like was a bit less pronounced. My friend recommended the century egg tofu. It had a strong garlic flavor and was seasoned well, making it a tasty dish that goes well with alcohol. The other dishes were also delicious, and we had a fun and enjoyable meal at this cozy restaurant.

Therefore, I have decided to stop sending New Year's cards in the near future. After buying a printer and an external disk drive at Yodobashi Camera, I decided to have lunch in Ikebukuro. I chose a restaurant called "Chikyuu Hanten," which seemed to be a traditional Chinese restaurant. I ordered the "Satisfaction Set of the Month" which included half Ma Po Eggplant Noodles and half Small Fish Fried Rice. The dishes were presented in smaller portions than expected, but they were elegant and delicious. The Ma Po Eggplant Noodles had a refined taste, and the Small Fish Fried Rice was light and flavorful. The set also included a Shumai dumpling and almond jelly for dessert. Overall, the meal was satisfying, and I felt that the restaurant's attention to detail and skill set it apart from typical native-style Chinese restaurants. This may be the last Chinese meal I have this year, and I'm glad I chose this restaurant today.

Visited on a Sunday in October 2022. Ordered the Satisfaction Set. It included half Crab Fried Rice and half Mapo Ramen. The Crab Fried Rice had a very gentle flavor. The Mapo in the Mapo Ramen was authentically spicy, and it seemed to go better with rice than with ramen.

I was in the mood for some fried dumplings, so I checked out Tabelog to see if there was a good place to go. I found a review praising the delicious fried dumplings, so I decided to go there. Actually, I had been to this place several times for their all-you-can-eat dinner in the past, and I had a good impression of it, so I didn't hesitate to choose this place. When I went during the weekday lunch break, the restaurant was almost full. It was clear that this place was popular among the locals. Initially, I planned to order the fried dumplings with ramen, but I hadn't had liver and leek stir-fry in a while, so I ended up cheating on my original plan and ordered the liver and leek stir-fry set meal. The liver and leek stir-fry tasted just as I had imagined, with the liver being tender and delicious. The fried dumplings had a slightly soft filling, but they were tasty. However, I wished that both the dumplings and the meal in general were a bit hotter. The dessert that came with the set meal was Oolong tea jelly, which brought back memories of how I had multiple servings when I came here before. The rice was cooked a bit firm, which would probably be better suited for fried rice. Looking at the orders of other customers, I noticed that many of them were ordering noodle dishes, so I decided that next time I would try the noodles. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

During lunchtime, I ended up at this restaurant after hesitating between options, as East Bright Restaurant is no longer around. It's convenient for solo diners. I had a set meal with beef and glass noodles stir-fry, along with a bottle of beer. The spring rolls that came with it make a great beer snack. The aroma of the glass noodles pairs well with the beer. I didn't ask for a rice refill, and one beer was just enough to satisfy my hunger. I may not have the chance to come back at night anytime soon, but I look forward to enjoying a leisurely meal with Shaoxing wine next time.

The name of the restaurant gives a slightly unusual impression, but it is a normal Chinese restaurant. The interior is spacious with plenty of space between seats. It is quite difficult to find a Japanese-run Chinese restaurant in the area around Ikebukuro Station, as there are many foreign-owned ones. The daily dinner set seemed to be geared towards Japanese customers, so I ordered the "Satisfaction Set" which included noodles and fried rice. On this day, it was a set of mapo tofu noodles and crab fried rice, costing around 1000 yen. The taste was not particularly distinctive, but the noodles had a gentle soy sauce-based soup, which mixed well with the mapo tofu sauce, providing a nice change in flavor. It wasn't very spicy. The crab fried rice was relatively crispy and tasted good. I was fairly satisfied with the portion size of the "half & half" set.

Ikebukuro Chinese restaurant established in 1963, located at Ikebukuro West Exit, Ebisu Street. Just a short walk from the station. Visited at 2 pm, with a few customers already inside. The restaurant is on the 3rd floor of a building and is very spacious, with round tables as well. The service was good. Ordered the extremely spicy Champon for 1050 yen. It arrived in about 10 minutes, with squid, clams, shrimp, scallops, cabbage, leeks, vegetables, and pork, all mixed with chili peppers. I wished there were more vegetables. The taste was quite delicious, with a spicy kick but still retaining the sweet seafood flavor of Champon. It reminded me of a Death Sauce-like taste. The spiciness was decent, around level 5 of Coco Ichibanya's spiciness. It made me cough when I slurped it. The noodles were medium-thin, easy to eat, and the portion was just right. I also want to try their extremely spicy mapo tofu dish.

The ingredients sourced by this long-standing restaurant are truly top-notch, with fresh prawns, squid, and pork that are all of excellent quality. The prawns are plump, the pork is tender, and the squid is soft with a nice chewy texture. The skill of the chefs really shines through. I think I first encountered it about 26 or 27 years ago. At that time, I had a friend who liked this place and visited it many times. However, we drifted apart, and I revisited the restaurant about four years ago. The interior of the restaurant hasn't changed much. There is a smoking room inside. I ordered the "Stir-Fried Leek and Liver" lunch set (880 yen) with an additional "Cold Guts Dish" (540 yen) as an appetizer. The lunch set includes the main dish, rice, soup, dim sum, pickles, and dessert. Rice is refillable, and for an extra 160 yen, you can add a drink. The appetizer I ordered was a marinated guts dish with a Chinese miso and chili flavor. It had a rich seasoning and was quite delicious. The main dish of leek and liver had a sweet and savory soy sauce-like flavor with large pieces of liver that provided a satisfying texture. The sweet and savory seasoning leaned slightly towards the sweet side, so I sprinkled some chili pepper on it, which enhanced the liver's flavor. It wasn't as oily as it looked, and I ended up pouring the remaining sauce into the bowl and turning it into a rice bowl. It was easy to eat and delicious. I believe that by eating liver, I can get all the nutrients I need. I used to go to a yakitori restaurant, but now I prefer getting my liver fix at this Chinese restaurant because it's the most delicious option. This restaurant serves a generous portion of liver, almost filling up half the plate, which makes me happy.
