The famous restaurant "Sushi Onodera" in Higashi-Ginza has a branch in Omotesando. Unlike the high-end focus of Ginza, it is unique and interesting to have a standing sushi and conveyor belt sushi concept in such a premium location as Omotesando. If you go around 12:30 on a holiday, there is a wait of about 6 groups for standing sushi. Although it is called standing sushi, they recently installed chairs, so I was worried about the slow rotation, but I was able to enter the store in about 15 minutes. It seems that the style has changed to sitting on chairs since the end of last year, although the menu is basically different between standing sushi style and conveyor belt sushi, it is nice that you can order some of the conveyor belt sushi menu at the standing sushi counter. The authentic Edomae sushi with red vinegar rice is a great accent. The quality of the tuna is excellent as it is sourced from Yamasuki. I enjoyed the sushi at Onodera at a reasonable price. Thank you for the meal. Two people had: - Sake draft beer - Taiyo Tatsu - Nigiri sushi: Kohada, Shime saba, Aji x2, White squid, Isaki, Tuna lean, Medium fatty tuna, Dried gourd roll, Tuna pickled in-house, Shime saba with kelp roll, Natto, Thin roll, Red clam, Cucumber roll

Visited on a Sunday afternoon. If you miss the first round starting at 12 o'clock, you may have to wait a bit. This time, I ordered the following items (all prices include tax): Yamato sake (¥1000), Bigfin reef squid (¥500), Bonito (¥450), Hokkigai (¥500), Beltfish (¥450), Salmon (¥400), Tuna lean meat (¥420), Medium fatty tuna (¥620), Marinated mackerel (¥450), Red snapper (¥500), Fatty tuna hand roll (¥900), Fatty salmon hand roll (¥850). The Yamato sake was served in a tokkuri instead of a masu, making it easier to drink. The quality of the fish and sushi on this day was excellent. The medium fatty tuna and the tuna lean meat (from Oma) were outstanding as always! Just these alone were satisfying. Seasonal items like bigfin reef squid, bonito, and beltfish were incredibly fresh and fatty (excluding the squid). On this day, I watched the preparation of the red snapper and thread-sail filefish right in front of me, and they were of a size and beauty that I had rarely seen before. They must be delicious. The quality of the fish on this day was also top-notch! (Of course, the sushi-making skills as well) Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Onodera in Ginza, which has won Michelin stars both domestically and internationally, has opened a standing sushi restaurant where you can enjoy sushi. Next door, you can enjoy conveyor belt sushi. Although it is a standing style restaurant, there are chairs available, so please rest assured. When asked if the sushi at the standing restaurant and the conveyor belt sushi are the same, they explained that the conveyor belt sushi is prepared after you place your order, while the standing sushi is prepared similarly to the main store in Ginza, allowing for a casual dining experience. This is the ideal form of "sushi" as Edo-style fast food. The conveyor belt sushi menu also looks delicious, so I would like to try that next time! As for the sushi, the tuna at Onodera is truly exceptional! Even the lean cuts are delicious! Everything was tasty, but the blackthroat seaperch was especially delicious. It's great to be able to enjoy such authentic sushi quickly and easily!

After returning from the beauty salon, I was hungry so I decided to have lunch at Onodera Honpo, a standing sushi restaurant in Ginza. The restaurant has about 8 seats at the counter where you can sit down instead of standing. It used to be quite crowded with a long line of mainly foreign customers at the revolving sushi restaurant next door, but it's a bit calmer now. The entrance can be a bit hard to find, and you might mistake the standing sushi restaurant as crowded when looking at the line for the revolving sushi place. The standing sushi restaurant was relatively empty.
[Order Course] Omakase total 6,590 yen
[Menu]
- 10 pieces of nigiri sushi: Isagi, Mud-dwelling cuttlefish, Spring snapper, Ark shell, Lean tuna, Small fin, Kuruma prawn, Fatty tuna, Sea urchin, Conger eel
- Drinks: One white water mercury (type unknown), Bright mirror still water junmai ginjo ginori autumn release
They mentioned that they use frozen tuna at the standing sushi restaurant, but the quality was high as they source it from Yamazuki. The tuna was fresh and tender. The Isagi had the skin on and was seared, so you could taste the fat and aroma between the skin and the flesh. The Small fin had the right amount of vinegar seasoning, bringing out the natural umami of the fish. The Conger eel was soft and tender. Overall, the sushi was of high quality and very delicious. The female chef, who seemed to be the head chef, had trained at Onodera Honpo, and her work was meticulous and the service was excellent, making it a very enjoyable lunch. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I went to Omotesando for lunch to try the trendy standing sushi bar, since the Ginza branch only opens in the evening. I've been to the main branch in Ginza before and it was good, but this was my first time trying the standing sushi bar. I arrived around 12pm on a weekday and there was no line. The entrance was shared with a conveyor belt sushi restaurant, but there were only about two groups there as well. I decided to go to the standing sushi bar. There was one sushi chef and orders were taken from multiple groups. The ordering was done through a touch panel. Some dishes, like the crab miso battleship sushi, seemed to come from the conveyor belt sushi side. As for the sushi itself, it was decent. The knife skills were good, and the quality of the fish seemed fine. However, the variety was lacking. Unlike the main branch where you could add more dishes after a course, here the options were limited. I ended up not feeling completely full. But the bill was under 10,000 yen per person, so in terms of cost performance, it was good. If it's crowded, the dishes might not come out quickly, so it may not be suitable for those looking to eat a lot in one go.

I visited the restaurant on a Sunday afternoon as usual. Had to wait a bit before entering. The konbu-zuke was plentiful that day. I ordered the following (prices include tax):
- Taito (sake) (¥930)
- Striped jack (¥400)
- Swordfish konbu-zuke (¥300)
- Baby squid (¥400)
- Ark shell (¥500)
- Tuna red meat (¥420)
- Sweet shrimp konbu-zuke (¥300)
- Medium fatty tuna (¥620)
- Golden eye snapper konbu-zuke (¥500)
- Seared barracuda (¥400)
- Marinated trout (¥400)
Started with Taito for a toast. Taito is a special junmai sake from Kumamoto. Not too sweet, not too dry, perfect as a drink with sushi! I've never seen Taito anywhere else besides Onodera. I want to buy it for home use! As for the sushi, the quality of the ingredients is top-notch as always! The konbu-zuke seasoning is perfect. And the tuna. The tuna here is delicious all year round. The red meat is on par with medium fatty tuna from other places. Both the red meat and medium fatty tuna are on a different level compared to other restaurants. The best sushi, as always. Thank you for the feast!

I first visited the standing sushi restaurant next door (there are chairs) so for my second visit, I came to this conveyor belt sushi restaurant (although there is no actual conveyor belt). You can order using a touch panel without worrying about eye contact, allowing you to eat slowly. However, overall, the food at the standing sushi restaurant tasted better. The simmered conger eel was exceptional, it melted in my mouth. I would definitely stop by again if I'm in the area. There are places with better value for money. The tuna was delicious as expected. The sardines were also amazing, they melted in my mouth. Many of the sushi pieces come with little wasabi. The level of satisfaction varies depending on the type of sushi.

It wasn't too crowded during regular lunch hours. Ordering via the touch panel was a bit difficult at first, but once you get used to it, it's not too bad. The freshness of the fish was excellent, with shiny and thick cuts. The staff quickly fixed a mistake in our drink order. It seemed like only the sushi chefs could see the orders on the panel, so they may have missed ours. Lunchtime service was fast, but it must be tough for the chefs to keep up with all the different sushi orders. The atmosphere was lively but a bit noisy, possibly due to the nearby revolving sushi restaurant. Despite that, the value for money is great! It's a convenient and affordable place to dine with friends.

I finally went to the famous Onodera sushi restaurant where you can eat sushi at a reasonable price! I sat at the counter next to the conveyor belt sushi area in Omotesando. Even though I was already full from lunch, when I passed by at 2 pm and saw that there were empty seats available, I decided to go in for a snack. It was rare to see both the conveyor belt sushi and counter seats empty, and I was debating which one to choose. The rice at the counter seats has more acidity and is closer to the main restaurant (the conveyor belt sushi has less vinegar due to children). While the conveyor belt sushi has more variety of toppings, the counter seats offer more marinated fish and a lot of Edo-style sushi with an extra touch. The counter seats are 10-20% more expensive than the conveyor belt sushi. I decided to go for the counter seats! I ordered using the touch panel. Each piece ranges from 300 to 1000 yen, but it's more cost-effective than going to Onodera's main restaurant! I usually don't eat shiny fish, but the kohada had a nice acidity to it and was delicious. The horse mackerel also had a good texture. The shrimp was nice and plump! I had about 6 pieces in total. Yum!

Visited on a Sunday afternoon. It's convenient to go around the opening time (12:00) as there is almost no wait. The dishes I ordered this time were Matsukawa flounder with kelp (¥550), striped jack (¥400), pork cutlet (¥300), shellfish gunkan (¥300), hairtail (¥350), cold escolar (¥400), lean tuna (¥420), sweet shrimp with kelp (¥300), seasonal squid (¥400), and more. The hairtail, cold escolar, and Matsukawa flounder with kelp were exceptional on this day. It was my first time trying the hairtail and it was outstanding. Matsukawa flounder is a rare species that is rarely available and the combination with kelp was superb. The sweet shrimp with kelp was also excellent. The pork cutlet was incredibly fresh with no unpleasant smell, just the pure taste of bonito. The tuna was consistently good as always. Each piece of sushi here is expertly sliced to bring out the best flavor. The fatty tuna was generously served and incredibly delicious. All the sushi on this day was top-notch. Truly fantastic quality of sushi (and of course, the sushi chef's skills). Thank you for the meal!

When I tried to go to the revolving sushi restaurant Onodera, it was full so I was about to give up, but then I was told that the space in front was for standing sushi and was available. I hesitated a bit about standing and eating, but there were chairs available, making it like a normal sushi counter. Compared to the revolving sushi, the rice here was closer to the original store, so I decided to give it a try. There was a chef right in front of me who would make the sushi on the spot, and orders were placed through a touch panel. I ordered various items mainly from the daily recommendations. The rice and toppings were quite large, providing a substantial meal. Although you can choose a smaller rice portion from the touch panel, the large toppings may make the balance off. I kept eating the normal size and quickly got full. The rice I was expecting... maybe because there weren't many customers, the temperature and firmness were not to my liking. However, being able to eat this sushi at this location for this price is amazing! Thank you for the meal.

The extra-large scallops and eel were very delicious. Other items were tasty too, but felt like the value for money was not great. It was nice that we could also order from the rotating sushi menu. Thank you for the meal. Likelihood of returning: ☆2

Recommended for when you want to enjoy a calm atmosphere and savor your meal at a relatively reasonable price. Yamayuki's honmaguro otoro has the perfect amount of fat and makes you want to eat 3 or 4 pieces every time. The limited-time, seasonal honmaguro kamatoro at Yamayuki has a firmer texture than otoro, with a good amount of fat, making you want to eat it again as a finishing touch.

High-end restaurant offering standing sushi with high cost performance. Arrived at 12pm on a holiday, spent 90 minutes at the conveyor belt sushi and 30 minutes waiting for dishes. Enjoyed plenty of delicious tuna from Yamasaki and had a chance to compare different types of sea urchin. The variety of sushi options on the conveyor belt was impressive, so I look forward to trying them next time.

As a reward for my hard work, I recommend Yamako's honmaguro, otoro, chutoro, akami, akami-zuke kobashira, live amaebi, kinmedai, fresh shime saba, and botan ebi. Each piece was a masterpiece showcasing the craftsmanship of the chef. The live amaebi is steamed slowly after being taken from the tank upon ordering, resulting in a perfect texture. I always want to order it whenever I visit.

The tuna was incredibly delicious! As expected from Yamako! Both medium fatty tuna and fatty tuna melted in my mouth, and the sea urchin was also super tasty. The shiny fish was okay, a bit fishy. I tried raw shrimp for the first time, and I still prefer it steamed. The shrimp head was grilled on the net, crispy and delicious. The bill came out to be 7000 yen.

5 minutes walk from Omotesando Station. I visited Onodera, a standing sushi restaurant located next to the conveyor belt sushi restaurant I visited last time. Although it is advertised as a standing sushi restaurant, there are actually 7 seats available and a sushi chef is making sushi right in front of you. The main difference from a regular sushi restaurant is that you order using a touch panel and the atmosphere inside is a bit noisy. The horse mackerel was delicious. The thread-sail filefish was also tasty. The fatty tuna was generously served. The tuna was also incredibly delicious. The shirako was also very tasty. The conger eel was served with two pieces and had a rich flavor. The reassurance of having the sushi made right in front of you is something special. It seemed like they didn't adjust or manage the temperature of the fish, but other than that, the quality is on par with other sushi restaurants at a reasonable price. I will definitely go back again!

This year, I visited Onodera again, as they successfully won the bid for the top tuna like last year. The line in the morning and the number of registrations on epark were surprisingly long, with all the touch panel tickets already gone 30 minutes before opening. I managed to get a ticket on my second visit in the evening. The main attraction was, of course, the top tuna of Reiwa 5, which sold for 36.04 million yen! A set of lean tuna and medium fatty tuna cost 1040 yen. Even with this cost, a single serving would cost nearly 20,000 yen. Despite the high price, this tuna was of exceptional quality. The umami of the lean tuna and the balance of fat in the medium fatty tuna were outstanding. Even the lean tuna melted in the mouth. I truly enjoyed this top-quality dish. Thank you very much for the meal!

"Ginza Onodera" group opened a standing sushi restaurant in October 2021, located just a 1-minute walk from Omotesando Station. Known for earning Michelin stars both domestically and internationally, the standing sushi restaurant is an extension of the popular "Sushi Ginza Onodera" main branch, situated next to the conveyor belt sushi restaurant "Kaitenzushi Ginza Onodera". Despite its name, the standing sushi experience has now transitioned to include seating options since June this year. The appeal of Standing Sushi Onodera lies in its casual and flexible dining experience, allowing customers to enjoy high-quality sushi, including top-grade tuna from "Yamazaki", at any time without the need for reservations. Orders are placed using a touch panel system, ensuring freshly made sushi for each customer. While the adjacent conveyor belt sushi restaurant may offer better value for money, the quality of the ingredients and preparation at Standing Sushi Onodera is unmatched. The pricing is reasonable for the quality provided, making it a convenient and satisfying sushi dining option. I always leave feeling content after enjoying a variety of sushi pieces. Thank you for the meal! Visited Onodera in Omotesando, a popular standing sushi bar, on a holiday afternoon. Ordered the following items: Isaki (Goto) - ¥400, Maguro Akami (Toi) - ¥420, Iwashi (Wakayama) - ¥300, Seasonal squid Kenzaki Ika (Nagasaki) - ¥400, Kan Sawara (Origin Unknown) - ¥400, Aji (Nagasaki) - ¥300, Shellfish Himo Gunkan (Origin Unknown) - ¥200, Taishuto (Kumamoto) 1 go - ¥930. As for drinks, Taishuto is a must-have. It's a Japanese sake from Kumamoto, a hidden gem that you don't see elsewhere. Perfect as a sake to accompany sushi, not too sweet or too dry, just right. Always end up drinking too much. The tuna akami was exceptional on this day, with a rich texture and a refreshing acidity typical of akami, yet with a richness similar to chu-toro. From Toi in Hokkaido, it was outstanding for just ¥420. Definitely needed seconds. Other toppings were also excellent. The fatty aji and iwashi, the aged richness of kan sawara, and the crunchy texture and slight bitterness of the shellfish himo gunkan were all delicious. Every topping here is fantastic. Thank you for the feast!

Around 1:20 PM on a Saturday afternoon, I visited a restaurant for the first time. Near the entrance, there was a ticket machine where I got a ticket and waited for a while. Unfortunately, I had to wait for about 30 minutes before being seated. There was a group of four people who were drinking, and it seemed like if I had timed it right, I wouldn't have had to wait as long. While I was dining, four seats remained empty. The restaurant was a revolving sushi place, but the staff's overly enthusiastic greetings were a bit off-putting, so I was glad I opted for standing and eating. The counter had about seven seats, and orders were placed using a touch panel instead of verbally, which felt a little strange with the chef right in front of me. I ordered the following: - Kawahagi (filefish) for 800 yen - Aji (horse mackerel) for 300 yen - Kue (longtooth grouper) for 720 yen - Chutoro (medium fatty tuna) for 620 yen - Uni (sea urchin) for 1000 yen - Torotaku (fatty tuna with pickled wasabi stem) for 800 yen I was able to adjust the amount of rice using the touch panel. The Kawahagi had a generous amount of liver and was very delicious, and the Torotaku was also tasty. The staff, overall, were very friendly. There was a show where a tuna weighing over 160 kg was brought out for display while I was eating. Thank you for the meal.
