11:34 Arrival. There were no people waiting outside, so I entered the restaurant first. I purchased a meal ticket at the ticket vending machine and took a seat. Special salt ramen for 1050 yen. 11:35 Seated. 11:39 Served. The soup contains medium-thin straight noodles, pork and chicken char siu, seasoned egg, chopped green onions, bamboo shoots, and seaweed. The soup is covered with chicken oil on the surface, hot, and has a delicious umami flavor from chicken and salmon flakes. At first, I thought the saltiness was strong, but as I continued eating, it became more pleasant. I tried adding a little black pepper halfway through and lemon vinegar at the end, and both were delicious. The noodles are thin, flat, and chewy, which I like. The pork char siu is bite-sized and well-seasoned, very delicious. The seasoned egg was also tasty with the flavor soaked in.

The soup made with scallops was luxurious and delicious! The refreshing kelp water was also tasty and satisfying! I visited during lunchtime. The location is about a 5-minute walk from JR Chuo Line Kokubunji Station. It had been 2 years and 5 months since my last visit, so I was excited to see how much they had evolved. There were 5 people waiting and it took about 15 minutes to be seated. There is only counter seating, but it seems families are also welcome. I ordered the chilled dipping soba with scallops for 1,000 yen, and it was served in about 5 minutes. [Visual]: The golden soup looked extremely appetizing. The generous amount of kelp water also created high expectations. [Soup]: First bite... delicious! The rich scallop soup was flavorful! Although I initially thought it was a light salt flavor based on the color, it turned out to be rich. The solid taste of the scallops made it delicious. [Noodles]: Medium-thick straight noodles with a high water content. The noodles matched well with the soup and were delicious. The kelp water wasn't thick, but rather thin. It was a delicious kelp water. [Chashu]: The chicken chashu was simply delicious. Overall, the dipping sauce with scallops was tasty. The rich scallop flavor combined with kelp water was elegantly finished and incredibly delicious. The staff's service was good and they had improved since my last visit. I enjoyed it very much!

I felt like eating ramen in Kokubunji, so I went to Mutahiro, which has the highest ratings. I had been interested in this place when I saw their stores in Tanashi as well. They have quite a few branches. I ordered soy sauce ramen and salt tsukemen. Both were delicious and flavorful, but I highly recommend the soy sauce ramen. The dashi flavor was rich and satisfying.

I have been to the popular restaurant Mutahiro in Kokubunji before, but I have never been to the second branch, so I visited this time. I arrived around 6:15 pm and was able to enter easily as there were only about 2 customers. I was hesitating between ordering the ramen or tsukemen, but since I had ramen at the first branch, I decided to buy a ticket for tsukemen (900 yen) from the machine. When I handed over the ticket, I was asked to choose between soy sauce or salt, and upon asking for a recommendation, I chose soy sauce. The dish was served, and I was surprised to see that the tsukemen noodles were flat noodles instead of the usual thick ones. I took a bite, and it was really good, delicious. I thought it was just the dipping sauce, but there were also chicken chashu pieces in it, adding a nice flavor. It was truly a delicious meal and lived up to its reputation as a popular restaurant in Kokubunji. The high expectations raised by the reputation of the restaurant in Kokubunji may have made me a bit critical in my evaluation.

Tsukemen soy sauce Next time, I'll go for the larger size with rice mixed in the soup (so I can finish all the rice). The slightly thick dipping sauce clings to the noodles perfectly! Both types of chashu are delicious, a winner. Next, I'll try the salt flavor.

Visited the famous Mutahiro 2nd branch in my hometown for the first time in a year. The salt chicken ramen here is still amazing as always. Although I thought about trying the soy sauce flavor today, I ended up going with the special dipping ramen with salt flavor because I wanted to drink the red snapper broth. The soup at the end was also excellent as expected.

Special Chinese noodles for 1050 yen, Char siu rice bowl for 350 yen. Arrived on a weekday at 6:30 pm with no line. Received the dish in about 5 minutes. The soup is full of chicken aroma, with a rich taste of chicken and a deep umami flavor from dried ingredients. Maybe thanks to the salmon flakes, there is a considerable sweetness. The noodles are medium straight with a slightly flat and chewy texture. There is also a noticeable sweetness from the wheat. The char siu is made from chicken breast and shoulder loin, with a tender and tasty texture. Overall, it was a high-level bowl of noodles. The char siu rice bowl is also one of the most delicious options in the bowl category.

The restaurant is called "Chicken Ramen Mutahiro 2nd Shop" and it is located about a 3-minute walk from Kokubunji Station. They are open from 11:30 to 15:00 for lunch and from 18:00 to 23:00 for dinner, closing at 21:00 on Sundays. They do not have regular holidays. I went there with my kids during summer vacation and we ordered the limited-time cold ramen. The taste at Mutahiro is always reliable and delicious! ⭐️⭐️ (out of 3)

I visited for lunch and ordered the summer limited chicken salt lemon ramen. It had a lot of lemon in it, and it looked beautiful. The balance of lemon acidity and saltiness was good. The chicken broth was rich and the soup was very delicious. The noodles were chewy. The chicken was very tender and flavorful with each bite. Adding lemon vinegar from the counter allowed me to enjoy a different taste. I would like to try the Chinese soba next time. It was delicious! I will visit again. Thank you for the meal!

While shopping, I ended up having dinner later than expected. I stumbled upon this place and recognized the name, so I decided to go in. No parking available, so I parked at a nearby multilevel parking lot for ¥220 for 40 minutes. The restaurant was a 5-minute walk from there. Inside, there were only counter seats and a ticket machine at the entrance. I purchased a meal ticket, handed it to the staff, and waited while sipping on a glass of water. In less than 10 minutes, my food arrived. The soy sauce-flavored broth had a slight sweetness to it, reminding me of Iida Shoten's soup but with a gentler touch. The soup was paired with thin, smooth, flat noodles, tender chicken breast chashu, slightly seasoned pork chashu, cute thin slices of menma, finely chopped green onions, and bonito flakes. Next up was the "salt flavor," a light and easy-to-drink soup with a hint of saltiness. I saw Awano Noto's salt on display, so perhaps that's what they used in the soup. I enjoyed changing the flavor by adding grated ginger, yuzu pepper, or lemon vinegar to the soup. The balance of flavors was excellent, and the salt soup was exceptional. The staff was kind and overall it was a great experience.

Salmon broth and chicken Chinese noodles for 850 yen. After the first store, we went to the second store, and didn't have to wait in line. The second store's specialty is chicken noodles, but they also use salmon broth. The salmon broth is different from bonito, mackerel, or sardine broth, and has a sweet finish. The noodles are thinner compared to the first store.

During a hot afternoon, I visited Mutahiro #2 in Kokubunji North Exit, after their renewal with a new soup. The soup was delicious with a chicken broth base and bonito flakes, a combination I really like. The soy sauce, broth, and bonito flakes worked well together. The flat straight noodles from Daruma Noodle Factory were chewy and enjoyable to eat. The toppings were chicken and pork chashu, flavored egg, bamboo shoots, nori, and green onions. I especially recommend the tender chashu. Overall, I was reminded of the flavor of the old chicken ramen, and I really enjoyed the soup, which had a nice touch of bonito flakes. I finished both the noodles and the soup. It was a delicious meal!

I visited Mutahiro 2nd store, a restaurant in Kokubunji, for the first time and ordered the chicken ramen (salt flavor). I took a sip of the soup, which was fragrant with salmon flakes, and confirmed its delicious taste, leaving a quite good impression. The chicken chashu was also delicious. Looking around, I noticed that many people had ordered the soy sauce flavor, so maybe I made the wrong choice. Nonetheless, the salt flavor was also very tasty. It was a good way to replenish salt during the hot summer with a bowl of ramen.

I have been going to Mutahiro No.2 for over 10 years. I have visited twice since the soup changed. The renewed version is still delicious, but I preferred the old one. It's like... it lost its punch. The excitement of "Wow! This is delicious!" is no longer there. I also liked the whole wheat noodles from before. The chicken ham was also more moist and flavorful in the past. The current chicken ham is honestly not great. It's a bit disappointing as this has always been a favorite place of mine.

Second stop on the West Tokyo expedition. Following the highly regarded Maple in Hachioji, I visited this shop within the Mutahiro group, which is currently in a somewhat ambiguous position in the Top 100 list. Among the shops in Kokubunji, this one currently has the highest reputation. The soup is made from chicken and salmon broth, with solid pieces of salmon fish flakes floating in the golden-colored soup. The noodles are slightly high in water content, flat noodles that are boiled to a firm texture. While a low water content thin noodle might be expected with this type of soup, I personally prefer the noodles here. The chashu consists of pork shoulder and chicken breast, which is decently average.

'Special Chinese-style Soy Sauce Ramen' for 1,050 yen. This restaurant is a popular spot frequented by customers on the Tabelog Top 100 list. It is where the owner of 'Furuichi' in Hamura trained. I was lucky to get a table quickly. While many ramen shops tend to have a sweeter chicken flavor, this one has a bold soy sauce taste. The price is reasonable, which is appreciated. The place seems to be popular among students. The interior is clean and suitable for a ramen date. The toppings include seaweed, Kujyo green onion, and bamboo shoots. The soft and sticky soft-boiled egg is delicious. The light chashu pork, straight noodles, and chicken broth with chili pepper all go well together. We also received double stamps for visiting on a rainy day.

"Mutahiro 2nd store" Mutahiro has a store in Osaka, but I visited this one when I was in Tokyo for work. The 2nd store specializes in chicken ramen, which suits my taste. I ordered the "Chuka Soba" for 850 yen, with extra noodles for 150 yen and extra meat for 200 yen. The soup had a generous amount of chicken oil on the surface, with a rich chicken flavor that spread in my mouth from the first sip. The soy sauce seasoning was well-balanced, giving the soup a deep umami flavor. I really liked this type of soup, but when I mixed in the salmon flakes on top, the flavor changed slightly. Personally, I think bonito flakes might have been a better match. The noodles were straight and flat, similar to the type I like in chicken ramen - they were firm, fragrant, and delicious. The chashu was made from pork leg and chicken breast, both seasoned well and very tasty. The chicken got a little overcooked towards the end because of the hot soup, but overall, it was a well-balanced and delicious ramen."

After finishing work, I was invited to go eat ramen, which I rarely have the opportunity to eat a few times a year. I went on a Saturday and arrived for a late lunch after 2 PM, so the restaurant was not crowded. I had the option to choose between shoyu and salt for my tsukemen. As a beginner in ramen, I thought tsukemen only comes in shoyu and miso flavors. This time, I chose the salt tsukemen for 1000 yen. It was refreshing and the noodles had a good texture, but I felt like it wasn't enough for my hungry stomach. I could ask the staff for grated ginger and yuzu pepper to add to change the flavor. It was very delicious! Personally, I thought I would prefer the noodles to be even firmer. I was also told that I could order soup at the end, so I tried it and ended up drinking a lot of soup too! The ramen was so delicious that it made me like ramen even more than before. Thank you for the meal!

Bonito flakes and chicken chuka soba. It was a popular restaurant in Kokubunji that I had been curious about for a while, and I finally had the chance to visit. The chicken and bonito flakes soup was gentle and skillfully delicious! The straight noodles were a great match with the soup. The texture of the bamboo shoots and chashu was also very good. I ate oil soba (the specific product name is uncertain). Recently, I have been eating out late at night, and I visited Mutahiro 2 after a long time. As the weather improved, I couldn't decide between oil soba and tsukemen, but I chose the oil soba. I had the option to add extra noodles or extra soup, and I chose extra rice. I also ordered the noodles in a large portion. The taste was gentle and well-balanced, with a raw egg mixed in, making it easy to eat without being too salty. The boiled chicken char siu at this restaurant was delicious and a perfect palate cleanser. However, the downside was that the char siu was overly salty, detracting from all the deliciousness. It was so unbalanced that I wanted to speak to the manager and question if they had even tasted it. It made me worry that the variety of the menu had increased without conveying the owner's thoughts. Mutahiro 2 is an important restaurant in Kokubunji, and I hope they work hard to improve.
