Asagaya is a place I really like. Actually, I love everywhere from Nakano to Kichijoji. It has that mature subculture vibe. If I were single, I would love to live in that area and become a regular at a local izakaya. This time, I had some free time before my scheduled visit to Asagaya, so I decided to write a blog at a café I found there called Penguin Café. It's about a 10-minute walk from the station, so the access isn't that great, but I really liked this café, so I wanted to introduce it. On August 27th (Thursday) at 4:05 pm, there was one person waiting. Wow, there were a lot of customers inside. However, they were taking proper measures against COVID-19. The master was handling everything alone, so he seemed quite busy, but his efficiency was great, and the service was very polite. I sat at the counter, where I could see the master making drinks. There were quite a few siphons there. It seemed like you could get some really authentic coffee. I decided to try the Penguin Latte (670 yen) because it's called Penguin Café. I was a bit hesitant as a single man over 30 ordering a latte with latte art, but it was really worth it. I love café lattes and almost always order them when I go to a café. This café latte was incredibly delicious. It had a great aroma, depth, and richness in the coffee. The smoothness of the milk was outstanding, with just the right amount of sweetness and a pleasant balance without too much bitterness. It was a delicious café latte that perfectly matched my taste. And of course, it looked cute too. I also tried the Rich Smooth Pudding (530 yen). It was amazing. The pudding was quite firm, with a strong sweetness and not too much caramel bitterness. It was my ideal pudding. It had a rich and smooth custard with a nice sweetness, possibly due to the use of unrefined sugar. I would definitely go back for this. They also served boiled beans (complimentary) to all customers, which were surprisingly delicious. It's so nice to receive such delicious and sweet boiled beans. The café had power outlets, Wi-Fi, and a cozy atmosphere, making it a perfect place to write my blog. I would love to visit again when I go to Asagaya. Thank you for the wonderful experience!
