The restaurant I was interested in after seeing it in a magazine. This shop uses sesame oil instead of regular frying oil, resulting in a light and crispy tempura with a rich tasting dipping sauce that complements the tempura bowl perfectly. The tempura set includes 2 shrimp, conger eel, green pepper, pumpkin, eggplant, and egg. The conger eel was thick and juicy, with no fishy taste at all, surprising even my husband who doesn't like conger eel. The rolled omelette was also delicious. The shop is conveniently located near Kaminarimon Gate, with polite staff making it welcoming for first-time visitors. Lunch is reasonably priced with options like tempura bowl and tempura set, so be sure to visit when in Asakusa.

This tempura restaurant has friendly and cheerful chefs who provide excellent customer service, which elevates the overall experience. They also have an impressive selection of Japanese sake including brands like Niigata New Sake, Tatenokawa, Hassen, Kikumasamune, Kokuryu, Mimurosugi, Kido, Tsurunoe, and Dassai. They do not accept PayPay but credit card payments are possible.

Asakusa Amairo is located near Asakusa Station and is known for its lively and friendly customer service. The restaurant is popular among both locals and inbound tourists. I ordered the Ebi Tendon (tempura rice bowl with 4 pieces of shrimp) which was delicious. The tempura batter was light and crispy, and the sauce was not too heavy. You can eat it endlessly. The price is reasonable. Highly recommended for lunch in Asakusa.

I visited Tenkai for the first time. I arrived at 11:40 am and was directed to the second floor, which was almost full. I ordered the special tempura set meal (1500 yen) with a little rice. Even after 20 minutes, only drinks had been served to the customers on the second floor. But after about 25 minutes, the dishes suddenly started coming out. I ordered a barley soda (530 yen) and waited (the drinks came quickly). As soon as the drinks arrived, the dishes also arrived. The meal included two shrimp tempura, small pieces of conger eel, vegetables, and egg tempura. There was miso soup, pickles, and a bowl of rice. I had asked for a little rice, but the portion was still large. The tempura had thick, tough batter and was not very tasty. The tempura dipping sauce was lacking. The rice was also not very good.

I recently visited Asakusa often. There is a delicious tempura restaurant called "Amairo" located a little west of the Nakamise shopping street. The name is nice, isn't it? On this day, I visited this restaurant as there was a tea ceremony in Asakusa. I ordered the special tendon for 1500 yen, which included shrimp, 3 types of vegetables, egg, and anago (conger eel). The tempura was delicious, with large and juicy shrimp and tender anago. The vegetables and egg were also very tasty. It was a blissful meal, especially when enjoyed with beer. Even if you prefer just tempura, having it with rice is also fine. I had a satisfying time exploring the nearby area and returned home content. The lunch menu offers tempura and tempura set meals for 1200 yen, which is very reasonable and delicious. If you visit Asakusa, be sure to stop by. Some might think tempura is heavy during summer, but surprisingly, it can be enjoyable. The combination of beer and tempura is great, so give it a try. Just be careful when choosing a restaurant. It was delicious! I will definitely go back. Thank you for the meal!

I had some errands in Asakusa, so I went a little early for lunch! I arrived around 11:10 on a rainy Saturday and there was no wait. The restaurant opened at 11:30 and by then there were about 4 groups waiting. It seems like if you go right at opening time, you can get in without waiting. I had the Special Tendon for 1500 yen. It's a regular tempura rice bowl with an additional egg tempura and white fish tempura which becomes the Special Tendon. The egg tempura had a half-cooked yolk and was incredibly delicious...!! If you like eggs, I recommend getting the Special Tendon. The two shrimp tempura were surprisingly crispy on the outside and tender inside... tender? Oh! They're half-cooked! It seems like they're frying the shrimp while it's still fresh. It was my first time trying this and it was very delicious! The vegetable tempura included green peppers, eggplant, and pumpkin, but the green peppers were especially tasty. I was very satisfied to enjoy a tendon at this price without waiting in Asakusa! The miso soup that came with the tendon had a rich broth and was also very delicious. Thank you for the meal!

The more covered by thick clouds, the more unstable I feel and the more I want to seek out new frontiers. However, I can't help but feel a bit complex about whether the quick-fix shop for that is the newly established shop that took advantage of the downfall of the old established shops due to the new virus situation. The time is 12:40 at "Tensai". The small shop has a counter and jazz music playing in the background. Despite the rush of customers, I managed to sit down smoothly and ordered the most orthodox and affordable item on the lunch menu, the "Tendon" for 1,200 yen. It reminded me of the famous chain "Tendon Tenya" with its nature-like umami flavor. As I watched the bustling atmosphere, I wondered if they used some kind of strategy to attract customers or if it was just overflowing from elsewhere. The town of Asakusa is gradually coming back to life. Following a strong man pulling a rickshaw, I learned about the special "married couple raccoon" statue that symbolizes marital harmony. I briefly considered following the rickshaw to learn more about the area, but realized it was not a feasible idea.

■Order: Tempura set meal for 1200 yen, including 2 shrimp, 2 white fish, 2 pumpkin slices, eggplant, and green pepper. Hmm! Delicious! The tempura was crispy and light, with no greasiness at all. It may not beat Tempura at Kagurazaka Soba Rakutei, but for 1200 yen, this taste is amazing... ■Miscellaneous: A tempura restaurant near Senso-ji Temple's Kaminarimon Gate. It's quite affordable around here. If the regular tempura set meal tastes this good, I can't wait to try the "special selection" tempura set meal. I will definitely come back!

It was a quite luxurious tempura bowl with two large shrimp, one piece of conger eel, green pepper, pumpkin, eggplant, and a half-cooked runny egg on top. It also came with miso soup and pickles for 2000 yen, which I think is a good deal. I got really full so I might ask for less rice next time...! It was delicious! Especially the egg tempura was the best!

I happened to stop by on my way back from Asakusa Hoppy Street... The friendly staff, crispy tempura, and wide variety of sake are sure to satisfy you! This time, I went right before closing, so there were some ingredients and sake that had run out, but they were delicious so I will definitely come back for more... It's great to find a place that makes you want to stop by again...

There are many "tendon" (tempura rice bowl) restaurants in Asakusa. I was thinking of going to a long-established one in Minowa, but it was far from the station so I decided to go somewhere closer. I was torn between ordering a tempura set meal or a tendon, but since I like eating it with sauce, I chose the "special tendon" which cost 1,500 yen. It had 2 prawns, egg tempura, conger eel, vegetable tempura, and they also had a variety of drinks like Hakushu, Yamazaki, and Chita highball which made me happy.

The weather was nice, so I cycled to Asakusa for lunch today. I decided to try "Asakusa Tensai," which was featured in a magazine before. I ordered the "Special Tendon." It seemed to be a popular place, so it took a bit of time for the bowl to arrive. Now, the "Special Tendon." It was a luxurious tempura bowl with 2 prawns, eel, half-cooked egg, and 3 types of vegetables. The tempura was freshly fried and delicious. For 1,500 yen, it was definitely worth it. Thank you for the meal. It seems that even on weekdays, Asakusa is slowly getting more crowded and lively again.

I visited during lunchtime on a regular day. I was seated at a table without any waiting time. The restaurant had acrylic sheets for infection prevention. The exterior of the restaurant and the atmosphere of the staff reflect a mix of touristy and traditional downtown charm. The tendon (tempura rice bowl) for 1200 yen comes with 2 prawns, which was a nice surprise! It also includes white fish and 3 types of vegetables. The tempura batter was of normal thickness, and the sauce was delicious. Among the restaurants in Asakusa, I think this place offers reasonably priced tendon.

Shrimp tempura rice bowl. ¥1,400. Four shrimp, small sliced eggplant, and sliced bell pepper. The batter was thin, and the shrimp were slim, but they were delicious even though slightly raw. ...But I ended up feeling a bit heavy in the stomach later. Lately, whenever I eat tempura set meals or tempura rice bowls outside, I end up feeling heavy in the stomach... I really like them though.

I usually don't eat tempura because I'm concerned about the oil, but I was hungry so I decided to go for a tempura rice bowl. I had a regular tempura rice bowl. I don't like soggy food, so I've never bought tempura rice bowl bento boxes before. But this one had a crispy texture even with the sauce on top, and I was satisfied! It had two shrimp that were not overshadowed by the batter. There were also eggplant, pumpkin, green pepper, white fish, all with generous portions, and it was reasonably priced at 1,200 yen for a tourist area. The pickles were also light and refreshing, so I could eat them without worries. I think I'll go back to Asakusa again, and I'd like to visit this place again.

I had lunch at Asakusa Tensai, a tempura restaurant in Asakusa. I happened to walk in and found the place to be clean and stylish. I sat at the counter facing the frying station and made sure there were no ingredients I didn't like. I asked to substitute eggplant for other vegetables and ordered my meal.
I was torn between the special rice bowl set and the tempura rice bowl, but I chose the tempura bowl because I was craving half-cooked egg tempura, and it tastes better when eaten in a bowl like a TKG (tamago kake gohan). The tempura bowl included 2 prawns, anago (conger eel), green pepper, shimeji mushrooms, and shiitake mushrooms. The batter was light and crispy. The prawns were larger than I expected and had a satisfying texture. The anago was also tender. Breaking the egg and mixing it with the rice made it even more delicious. I think it would be nice to come back in the evening and enjoy some tempura with drinks.

In Asakusa, I felt like an adult ordering tempura, but ended up ordering a "Mega Tendon" that I couldn't resist. It was a large bowl filled with eel, white fish, shrimp, vegetables, chicken, and egg, all on a bed of rice with plenty of sweet sauce. The bowl was more like a deep dish than a regular bowl! The miso soup was also delicious. When asked if I finished everything, I proudly said, "I did my best!" The chef commented that it must have been quite a challenge due to the portion size. Next time, I'll stick to a regular tempura bowl. Thank you for the meal. (Cost: 2000 yen)

Tokyo: A tempura bowl restaurant in Asakusa, just a 3-minute walk from Asakusa Station! The lunch set is voluminous and very affordable. The tempura bowl for 2000 yen is huge and satisfying. The most delicious item was the conger eel, it was fluffy with a new texture that was irresistible! The staff were also very nice. I visited this restaurant for lunch. It is a new place, so the interior is clean. There is a counter in the front, table seats in the back, and it seems there are also seats on the second floor. The lunch menu includes tempura and tempura set meals for 1200 yen, as well as a dish called "jidori tendon." It's a bit unusual that the tempura and tempura set meals are the same price. I ordered the tempura set meal (1200 yen). The tempura set meal was served in about 5 minutes. It comes with pickles and miso soup. The miso soup had beaten egg in it. The tempura included 2 medium-sized prawns, pumpkin, shishito pepper, eggplant, and white fish. It comes with salt, tempura dipping sauce, and grated daikon radish. The batter was light and had a good texture. It tasted delicious with both salt and dipping sauce. I felt the rice portion was a bit small. It's a good restaurant for a reasonable price and a relaxing atmosphere.

For lunch today, I was in the mood for tempura rice bowl, so I stopped by this place on my way to work. I sat at the counter and ordered the "Special Tempura Rice Bowl ¥1500". Despite the busy lunchtime with only one person in the kitchen and one person in the dining area, the young owner was very friendly and efficiently managed everything. The tempura rice bowl arrived with large prawns sticking out, but it was well-balanced. The sauce was not too sweet or too spicy, just perfect. The toppings included green peppers, eggplant, pumpkin, two prawns, eel, and what I thought was squid turned out to be egg. The half-cooked egg mixed with rice at the end was delicious. The prawns had black tails, which was a bit surprising, but considering the location in Asakusa, it was reasonable to get a decent tempura rice bowl at this price for lunch. If you're looking for a reasonably priced, well-balanced and tasty tempura rice bowl, this is the place to go.

I visited around 11:30 am on a regular day. I arrived before the opening and was the first in line to enter the restaurant. After placing my order, I enjoyed some drinks while waiting leisurely for the food. Soon, more customers started to arrive. The tempura was crispy and delicious, perfectly fried. The sauce for the tempura bowl was also very tasty, and the staff provided excellent service. The egg tempura was cooked just right, with a runny yolk that paired well with the other tempura or with rice and sauce. It was a luxurious and delicious experience. I would love to visit again.
