I've always wanted to visit this restaurant. It's a local Chinese restaurant run by the father of the former number one host in Shinjuku, Jin Jyosaki. When I arrived about 30 minutes before opening, there were two chairs outside where you could sit. The chairs were surprisingly comfortable, and there was seating for up to four people. About 15 minutes before opening, a female staff member came out with the menu to take orders in advance. I had already decided to order their famous Char Siu Fried Rice in a large portion for 1150 yen. By the time they opened, there was a line of nearly 20 people. Once inside, I was seated at the counter, and the Char Siu Fried Rice arrived quickly. The chef was skillfully tossing the wok, and there were two female staff members, but the chef was the one preparing all the dishes quickly. The complimentary soup was a clear broth with hints of dried bonito and dried sardines, similar to the flavor at Daishoken where the chef used to work. The ramen and tsukemen here are also delicious. The Char Siu Fried Rice was moist but not overly sticky, with a good separation of grains. It was seasoned simply but delicious. The generous amount of Char Siu was incredibly tasty, perfectly seasoned and textured, making it clear why it's their signature dish. Even in the large portion, I quickly finished it all because it was so delicious. It's not an easily accessible location, but I'm glad I made the effort to come. If I can come back next time, I'd like to try the ramen along with the Char Siu Fried Rice.

In a good way, it's satisfying to know that this is good in the town's Chinese restaurant. The capacity extends to the back, making it suitable for large groups. In the kitchen, Mr. Jousaki, the father of the family, silently stirs the wok, while the female staff are friendly. The Char Siu Fried Rice for 950 yen has plenty of Char Siu that gives a satisfying bite, and the flavor of the broth is addictive.

I went to Maruzuru, famous for its fried rice. I arrived on Friday at 6:30 PM and was seated right away due to the rain. Among the unusual menu items like the flying fish roe fried rice, I ordered the most popular dish, the large pork fried rice. The large size is just enough to fill up an adult man. The first bite was very peppery. The taste is simple, but I noticed some inconsistency. In a negative light, it may be a bit too salty. The restaurant is a bit of a distance from the station. I'm glad I finally got to try it out.

I visited a popular Chinese restaurant that has been featured multiple times on YouTube and TV, a place I had wanted to go to for a long time. I arrived around 11:20 on a weekday, and there were already about 5-6 groups waiting in line in front of the restaurant. However, the turnover was fast, and we were able to get inside in less than 15 minutes. The interior of the restaurant is spacious. You can only place one order at a time (the staff will inform you of this). I ordered the Char Siu Fried Rice and the Tobiko Fried Rice, both of which have been heavily featured in the media. The Tobiko Fried Rice, in particular, is a menu item that you don't see often elsewhere, so I was really excited to try it. The dishes arrived in about 5 minutes, and they looked amazing. The Tobiko Fried Rice was loaded with tobiko, and the flavor was rich and delicious. I finished it quickly because it was so good. The accompanying Chinese soup was also incredibly tasty, so I definitely want to try the ramen next time. The Char Siu Fried Rice had large chunks of char siu that looked incredibly appetizing. The char siu itself was tender and flavorful, and the fried rice was moist but not greasy. I finished it quickly as well. They also offer free iced coffee after your meal (self-service). Despite spending less than 30 minutes there, I was extremely satisfied. This experience has inspired me to explore more local Chinese restaurants. The chef was just as friendly as he appeared in the media, and it was nice to receive a kind thank you from him when we left. I will definitely be back.

Located in Oyama, Itabashi-ku, "Chuka Ryori Marutsuru" is a famous restaurant known as the holy land of Itabashi-style moist fried rice among fried rice lovers. The legendary chef, Mr. Okayama Jitsu, creates a fried rice with plenty of char siu (apparently preparing 50kg of meat every day) that is so popular that there is always a line from before opening until closing. When I arrived 45 minutes before closing, there were already 5 people waiting, and there were about 7 more people behind me. I immediately ordered the famous "Char siu fried rice" and the "karaage" available only on Fridays and Saturdays. I watched the legendary chef shaking the wok from the counter, just as I had seen on YouTube. The fried rice has a punchy flavor with salt, pepper, and oyster sauce. It is really moist and delicious. The size of the char siu and the ratio of meat to rice are completely different from other restaurants. The karaage, made with chicken breast, is also tender and moist. Next time, I plan to come back to try the shrimp fried rice, which also has a unique ratio of rice to ingredients.

Tobiko fried rice for 950 yen and fried chicken (limited to Fridays and Saturdays) for 500 yen. I arrived at the restaurant around 12:40 during lunchtime and there were 7 people waiting in line outside. The menu was handed out while waiting in line, and I was told that I couldn't make any changes or additions to my order once placed, so I had to decide quickly. After about 20 minutes, I entered the restaurant. It had counter seats, but it seemed spacious towards the back. The fried rice had a generous amount of tobiko, which gave it a great texture. It also had chunks of char siu, although that wasn't really to my liking. The fried rice was moist and flavorful, although I didn't find it to be particularly peppery as I had heard. It was delicious, but not mind-blowing. The fried chicken, available only on Fridays and Saturdays, was a great deal at 500 yen for 5 pieces. It was made with chicken breast, hot and crispy, with a light flavor that made mayo a must. Overall, the quality was high and the prices were great, making it a very good restaurant for casual dining.

I finally got to visit the restaurant I've been wanting to go to for a while. I arrived around 11:40 AM and there was a line, but the turnover of customers was quick, and I was able to get in after about 20 minutes. I was indecisive, but ended up ordering the char siu fried rice. The food came quickly. The service was excellent. The fried rice had a strong pepper punch at first, followed by a moist and flavorful broth taste in the sticky rice. The char siu was plentiful and delicious, not dry at all, but there was so much that it felt like my jaw might dislocate. Delicious! Now I understand why there's always a line!

The large serving of Tobiko fried rice is as delicious as ever. Jousaki Papa is still doing well. Last time I came, was it his apprentice who was tossing the pan? I'm glad he's still active. The coffee during lunch is the best. The TV always shows the same program (during the interview) and it's always funny.

I was at Oyama Station for work and was invited to a famous Chinese restaurant by a colleague. We arrived just before 1 pm and were able to get a table without waiting. The fried rice was said to be famous, but I was tempted by the allure of the wonton noodles. I saw "tobikko cha-han" on the menu for the first time! When I tried it, I was amazed by the large and crispy tobikko. The color was beautiful like a jewel box. The flavor was rich with chunks of savory char siu and a good amount of pepper, giving it an old-fashioned town Chinese restaurant taste. Chotoku may be a town Chinese restaurant, but it has a high-quality taste. The Chinese soup that came with the meal was surprisingly made with bonito, giving it a flavor that could be used for ramen. On my way out, I saw a lettuce fried rice that looked delicious with plenty of fresh lettuce. It's not often that I come across such a place, but it was a memorable experience. By the time we left, there was a long line, so it's better to go with some extra time depending on the time. Thank you for the meal!

Char Siu Fried Rice for 950 yen, with a large serving for an additional 200 yen. On Saturday at 11:10 AM, there were 25 people waiting. I entered at 11:30 AM and was served at 11:40 AM. The fried rice had a perfect balance of salt and plenty of delicious char siu. Even with the large serving, I finished it quickly.

I finally made it to Maruzuru! I saw a video about this place on YouTube and had been wanting to come here someday. There were about 8 people in line. It's a bit unusual to line up at a Chinese restaurant. I ordered the shrimp fried rice. I was torn between that and the spare ribs, but I went with this one this time. The fried rice, filled with chunks of char siu and seasoned with plenty of pepper, is so delicious that you just want to keep eating it. I'll have to bring someone with me next time.

There was a typhoon, but I took advantage of a break in the rain to visit Maruzuru, one of the top three fried rice restaurants in Tokyo. This was my third time trying their fried rice, but this time I was there specifically for their Friday and Saturday limited edition karaage (fried chicken). It was lightly seasoned and truly delicious! Despite arriving around 12:30pm, I didn't have to wait to be seated. However, when I left, there were about 10 people waiting outside the restaurant. Even during a typhoon, it's amazing to see how popular this place is.

Ooyama. I got off at the station for the first time and did some review activities after a long time. Ooyama Station has a nostalgic shopping street in front of it, but if you walk a little, you'll see tall buildings and apartments. It's a somewhat different atmosphere in the city. The night before, I was watching YouTube at my friend's house in Akabane, and a recommended video featuring this restaurant caught my eye. I was completely hooked by that video and decided to take a bus and arrived just before the opening time. Unfortunately, I couldn't get in on the first try. I waited in line at the front for the second try. I knew it was a popular place, but I didn't expect it to be this crowded. People were lining up before the opening and even after it opened. The preparation was excellent, and with many construction workers among the customers, the turnover of seats was fast. We managed to get in on the second try in about 10 minutes. I was curious about the Char Siu Fried Rice, Tobikko Fried Rice, and Lettuce Fried Rice. We decided to share the popular Char Siu Fried Rice and Tobikko Fried Rice with my friend. The Lettuce Fried Rice will have to wait until next time. It was served within a few minutes. They probably have some pre-made. Fast. I took a bite of the Char Siu Fried Rice right away. The Char Siu was delicious. The concentrated umami extracted from garlic, soy sauce, and aromatic vegetables has soaked into the diced Char Siu. The owner himself cuts each piece without using a machine, which allows this meaty texture to be achieved when you put it in your mouth. On the other hand, the rice was seasoned lighter than I expected. It seems that the saltiness is adjusted while balancing the rich flavor of the Char Siu with oyster sauce as the base and seasoning with umami seasoning and salt and pepper. I think the taste of this fried rice (rice) itself can be somewhat imitated at home, but it seems quite difficult to make this umami Char Siu. I also tried the Tobikko Fried Rice. I think the basic seasoning is the same as the Char Siu Fried Rice. The saltiness of the Tobikko itself is mild. The puffy texture of the Tobikko adds a fresh touch to the fried rice, giving it a new combination. By the way, it's been a long time since I've eaten Tobikko. I was prepared for it to be quite heavy because it's fish roe, but it wasn't at all. It can be eaten lightly. I slightly regret ordering a regular portion because of this lightness. If it's this light, I could have easily handled a large portion. The Char Siu with a presence that cannot be imitated elsewhere was delicious. Oh, the shrimp fried rice looks good too... No, the lettuce fried rice... The ramen... Thank you for the meal! ^^

Arrived first at 11:35 AM on September 5, 2023 (Tuesday) (^-^)/ The waiting area chairs were luckily in the shade (((^^;). Around 40 minutes later, the hostess, I think, in the heat, said, "Thank you for waiting, please wait a little longer" (^-^)/ After a while, she offered a plastic bag with ice (^^)d. The sound of a pot being stirred could be heard. While waiting, I was asked for my order, so I requested the shrimp fried rice. The menu only offers fried rice and noodles, and additional orders cannot be made inside. The restaurant opened a little while ago, and there were around 10-12 people behind me. When I sat at the counter, the shrimp fried rice with soup was served soon. The soup was a bit on the salty side, but tasty (^^)d. The fried rice had about 8-10 shrimp on top, and plenty of char siu (^^)d. It wasn't too moist, but the pepper added flavor (^^)d. It was delicious, well-prepared, and served. Maybe if it was cooked to order, it would be even tastier, because they handle a large volume (>_<). It was quite tasty, but the portion was unexpectedly small (((^^;). Perhaps getting a large serving or adding ramen would have been better (laughs). I enjoyed it, thank you for the meal.

I ordered the shrimp fried rice for ¥950. I arrived at 11 am on a weekday and had to wait for about 20 minutes due to the crowd. This popular Chinese restaurant in Oyama, Itabashi-ku, has been around for about 60 years. The owner is said to be the father of Jin Kinosaki. The signature dish, fried rice, is very popular on social media. Despite all the hype, the fried rice was so delicious that I didn't care about anything else. It's quite salty, but I like it. The soup also seemed to be made to complement the fried rice, as the combination was perfect. It's a bit challenging, but I definitely want to go back.

I went to Maruzuru, a well-known famous restaurant in Oyama, Itabashi. I arrived around 11 am on a Tuesday and there were about 8 people in line, but I was able to get in after a 15-minute wait. I shared a table with an elderly man who was also dining alone. The turnover seemed to be good as the first group of people finished eating just as I arrived. Inside, the legendary chef was continuously tossing the wok, which was impressive to watch! I was torn between ordering the char siu or shrimp fried rice, but I ended up choosing the shrimp fried rice. It was served in about 5 minutes. The fried rice had a simple flavor with a generous amount of pepper. The specialty dishes are the char siu fried rice and the tobikko (flying fish roe) fried rice, but the shrimp fried rice was also satisfying with its generous portion and large chunks of char siu. It was delicious!

While driving and pondering about lunch options, I suddenly remembered Maruzuru. There were about five people waiting outside, so it seemed quite busy. After waiting for about 10 minutes, I entered and ordered the large portion of Char Siu Fried Rice for 1,150 yen. I remember being surprised by the amount of Char Siu in the past, but it seems to have decreased. The flavor didn't seem as rich as before, but perhaps my taste buds have become accustomed to stronger flavors.

I arrived around 11:40 as planned, and since it was hot, I was prepared to give up if there was a long line. Luckily, there was no line! I entered smoothly and sat at the counter. I ordered a bottle of beer to quench my thirst (having a large bottle was a nice touch). I also ordered some char siu to accompany it and enjoyed the perfect timing of its arrival. The "Tobikko Fried Rice" that I had always wanted to try arrived! It had an impressive presentation with lots of juicy char siu and chewy tobikko. It was absolutely delicious! It was the best lunch I've had in a while! Next time, I want to come with a few friends and share different dishes.

I went to a popular Chinese restaurant that was trending on Twitter. It was a 15-minute walk from the station and there was a 20-30 minute wait in line to get in. The fried rice with large shrimp was priced at 1,150 yen including tax. The dish had plenty of big shrimp, but the taste of the fried rice itself was average. It seems like my expectations were too high. It's definitely a popular spot, though.
