Charcoal-grilled rich Chinese soba Rindou, Kaifudou, Okurindou affiliated store. It is a restaurant in the Do school that offers Chinese soba & set meals, and I have visited Kaifudou before and had the Chinese soba set meal. The other day, I casually watched a video and got information that the tsukemen is also delicious, so I decided to visit the restaurant with the goal of trying the tsukemen. The location is right outside Asakusabashi Station, about a 30-second walk. I arrived at the restaurant at 10:55 am on Saturday, and the attentive staff quickly came out to open the store. It was raining heavily outside, so I was grateful to be able to enter the store quickly. I checked the ticket machine on the left side of the entrance. This restaurant offers Chinese soba set meals, Chinese soba, kama-age tsukemen, and tsukemen, and there are various types of soup stock such as mackerel, sardine, horse mackerel, squid, seasonal limited fish, so it would be inevitable to be lost if you came without any research. I chose the tsukemen with horse mackerel that I had struggled to choose on the train on the way here, and decided to go with the seasoned egg. The tsukemen has thick noodles, so I chose the seasoned egg with thin noodles because I wanted to enjoy both types of noodles. The noodle portions are small at 400g, medium at 550g, and large at 700g, all at the same price. The extra-large 850g is +50 yen, and the super extra-large 1000g is +100 yen, which is a nice service for those who want to eat a lot. There was a water pot, cup, disposable chopsticks, and toothpicks on the table, and the disposable apron was near the ticket machine, so I put on the apron and waited. By the way, today is a holiday, so I also ordered a bottle of beer to quench my thirst. After a while, the dish arrived. The noodles are homemade hand-kneaded flat thick noodles with a strong twist. I tried dipping the noodles in the soup, and the noodles were cooked just right with a chewy texture. The dipping sauce has a rich flavor of horse mackerel, but the saltiness is a bit strong. So, it might be a good idea to dip about half of the noodles and eat them. There seems to be a small amount of chopped roasted pork in the dipping sauce. There are chopped green onions and spinach on a separate plate, so you can enjoy changing the taste by adding them little by little. After eating about half of the noodles, I ordered the seasoned egg. The seasoned egg is a single serving, quite voluminous. The noodles are thin noodles with a crispy texture due to low water content. On top of the noodles are chopped roasted pork and slightly grilled green onions, and fish powder is sprinkled on top, so I mixed it all together and enjoyed it. It was also delicious to dip it in the remaining horse mackerel dipping sauce. Finished eating, thank you for the meal.
