This cafe is located just off Cat Street from Omotesando. I had been curious about it for a while, so I decided to go there on a whim on a Sunday. It was full... The entrance curtain was purple, but I wondered why it was called "Fechairo" (tea brown). After waiting for about 20 minutes, I found out the reason for the name at the entrance. The owner's name is James Brown. After researching later, I found out that the name was a play on words between Brown and tea, creating "Fechairo" (tea brown)! He studied cultural preservation and architecture in America, managed a Japanese tea cafe in Boston about 10 years ago, and was involved in the tea business at a Canadian company, which led to combining tea, traditional Japanese houses, and cultural preservation in the cafe. This time, I tried the miso dumplings that I often see on Instagram, but it turned out to be water caramel. The drink was azuki milk, served in a glass that swayed and was a bit scary to spill, but fun. At the entrance, you step on stepping stones, and in the entrance, you take off your shoes. The hallway is also lined with stepping stones, and there are tatami tiles in both the Japanese-style room and the sitting room. The ceiling has an arrow feather pattern, which I haven't seen in a long time except for hakama. The back tatami room seems to be available if the timing is right, without a reservation system. It's a small cafe, but you can feel the incredible attention to detail in the space. The fact that this is run by an American on Harajuku Cat Street is also something wonderful to think about.

It is located one street off the main road, so you have to aim for it to get there. You need to take off your shoes inside the store because it has tatami flooring, but the calm atmosphere of the traditional cafe was nice! The rice cakes come in three different flavors for you to compare, and they looked cute as well.

I arrived at around 3 o'clock. I took off my shoes and entered the tatami room, which made me feel excited. I ordered matcha tea and miso dumplings. I enjoyed three different flavors and felt like I got a good deal, it was delicious. At the checkout, there was an aquarium next to the register with a cute creature inside, I forgot what it was but it was adorable!

No reservation, lucky to visit around 14:00 on a holiday with no waiting. Sat in a tatami room, took off shoes, and enjoyed delicious miso sauce dango and matcha set. I ordered an iced matcha latte, which was also very tasty. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was great and relaxing, although the air conditioning was a bit warm. Overall, a fantastic experience!

A small Japanese cafe located in a back alley off Cat Street in Harajuku. The owner, a foreign man dressed in a kimono, was running the place by himself. (He's actually a model and incredibly handsome!) The interior has tatami flooring, so you have to take off your shoes before entering. This time, I ordered the popular dumpling set that I often see on Instagram. It included 3 types of miso dumplings with matcha on the side. You could choose to have the matcha as straight, latte, or iced. I chose straight. The dumplings came in matcha, plain, and roasted green tea flavors, all based on miso and sweet-salty in taste. The texture was chewy like mochi. I devoured all 3 by myself. My friend had the hojicha cinnamon muffin and caramel milk. By the way, I visited around 5 pm on a weekday, and the place was empty the whole time I was there. It might be a hidden gem!

I might not have found it if I hadn't gone looking for it. When you enter the entrance, there is a genkan where you take off your shoes before going up. In the tatami room, there was a low table with cushions laid out. All the sweets are vegan-friendly. There were offerings like oshiruko, odango, and muffins. The staff were foreigners dressed in kimono. It's a stylish space, you might forget you're in Omotesando. However, because they are running the place alone, the wait from ordering can be too long. Not recommended if you're short on time.

★It was around 2 o'clock on a weekend afternoon when I arrived★There was no waiting, and the restaurant was empty from entering to leaving★I ordered three individual miso dumplings★They were served with red bean, matcha, and roasted green tea on top of miso sauce, creating a sweet and salty flavor★The dumplings themselves were ordinary and lacked impact★The appearance was better than the taste, in my opinion★The service was average★The cleanliness was good overall, but the restroom could use some improvement★The atmosphere didn't feel like a cafe, more like a casual home interior style★In terms of cost performance, it's not recommended as three dumplings cost 500 yen★Regarding allergies, the staff mentioned that there are several dairy-free dessert options available★I wouldn't go out of my way to visit again, but if a friend invited me, I might consider going back due to the dairy-free dessert options available★Overall, I would rate it 3 out of 5 stars★★★!

The popular vegetarian cafe "Cafe Chairo" in Kichijoji, which was temporarily closed, has relocated to Omotesando, Tokyo, and reopened in September 2021 as "Cafe Chairo." The menu currently consists of all vegan sweets and drinks, with lunch options still in preparation. The owner, a handsome foreigner who also models, has created a cozy Japanese-style cafe with tatami flooring and a menu featuring Japanese flavors. I tried the matcha muffin and matcha latte, both of which were surprisingly delicious despite being animal product-free. It's a lovely cafe with a calming atmosphere, so be sure to check it out! It's a stylish Japanese-style cafe. The owner seems to be from overseas. It has a Japanese atmosphere, with a goldfish tank, a raised tatami area to take off your shoes, and a menu featuring tea and sweet red bean soup. Unfortunately, the seating is cramped, with customers sitting back to back and the smell of the not-so-clean tank. Being in close proximity on the raised tatami area makes it hard to ignore the smell of shoes when you take them off. Additionally, the strong perfume worn by the staff was quite overpowering, and I couldn't really relax and enjoy my tea.

- A Japanese-style hospitality
- The gap between the staff who don't seem Japanese and the Japanese atmosphere is great
- The hojicha latte is just amazingly delicious

I visited for the first time, and it was a shop run by a foreigner. The staff lacked energy and friendliness, and the atmosphere was not welcoming. The menu was confusing, making it difficult to determine which item to order from the photos. Despite promoting vegan options, it was not clear what they were offering. The taste was nothing remarkable, just average. Overall, I would rate it as not recommended. I couldn't understand the reason for operating in Harajuku. Seasonal fruit-filled rice cakes, roasted green tea, miso dumplings, ice cream, matcha latte.

The chewy mitarashi dango is addictive! The traditional Japanese sweets and drinks are all homemade and vegan. The seating in the tatami room is sunny and every dish looks like a work of art.
