Opened in the spring of 2022 in Tsukiji 6-chome, the wonderful restaurant "FOODLAB" @foodlab_tsukiji offers a dining experience where you can enjoy and consume the essential elements for beauty and health in a delicious way. We opted for the popular course of authentic Chinese herbal medicine hot pot, produced by a Chinese herbal pharmacist. First, the staff carefully explained the concept of the hot pot and the herbal ingredients used, which felt very authentic! All ingredients are pesticide-free and additive-free! The menu is also created by a famous pharmacist! Tonight seems to be a healthy night. The soup, with a gentle flavor of vegetables in a seafood broth, serves as the base of the hot pot. The appetizer, featuring sea urchin and salmon roe on crushed beans from Yamagata, wrapped in seaweed, was delicious. The ingredients are all delicious, and the hot pot starts off well! The morning sun brings a generous amount of vegetables, including Western carrots, ginger, nameko mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, napa cabbage, and pumpkin, each with a rich and delicious flavor. The next course, beef shabu-shabu, uses the same soup base, with a sauce containing ginger and Chinese herbs, adding a slightly spicy condiment (perhaps sansho pepper) to the soup, creating a powerful aroma and flavor. The black wagyu beef shabu-shabu in this soup is incredibly delicious, with just the right amount of fat. The accompanying salt with charcoal is excellent! The mushrooms were so delicious that we had seconds at this point. The pork shabu-shabu course features Shonan Miyaji pork in a white broth with a hint of acidity from fermented napa cabbage and wolfberries added to the hot pot soup. The combination of flavors goes from stimulating to deep, and the Shonan pork pairs well with this soup! Finally, the homemade Chinese noodles with a finish of hatomugi, almonds, and white sesame are added to the hot pot. The soup at the end was unexpectedly delicious! It was great to feel healthy throughout the meal, but more than that, the hot pot itself offered a unique and delicious experience that cannot be found elsewhere! The last of the hot pot soup was so good that we drank it all! Thank you for the feast! A hot pot where you can enjoy so many different flavors in one pot and savor the true flavors of each ingredient is truly unique! Follow me on Instagram @erizo0012!

A friend brought me to a medicinal hot pot restaurant and I became addicted to it. The basic soup is gradually enhanced with different ingredients, offering four different flavors to enjoy. The menu is supervised by a pharmacist with extensive knowledge of Chinese medicine, making it seem beneficial for the body. The seasonal menu changes, and on this day, we had a refreshing hot pot perfect for the lingering summer heat. Ingredients like ginger, myoga, and shiso were invigorating and summer-like, with other ingredients helping to reduce swelling and prevent dryness. My favorite was the variety of mushrooms – some crunchy, some soft and bouncy, all with amazing textures. The thinly sliced meat and fish balls were delicious too. Each person gets their own hot pot, so there's no need to worry about sharing ingredients. The appetizers here are also fantastic. Uni and ikura wrapped in seaweed, paired with sparkling wine – heavenly. The soup starts with a nourishing kelp tea-like flavor, then adds miso and some Chinese herbs for aroma, followed by pickles for acidity. Finally, we enjoyed noodles in a curry-like ethnic-flavored soup. Each soup had a title like "Morning Sun," "Sunset," "Twilight," and "Moonlit Night," providing an entertaining experience as the flavors changed. The women I was with were all captivated. The drinks were also delicious, but this time we tried natural wine. It had a unique flavor profile, was easy to drink, and seemed to prevent a hangover? The next day, we were already thinking about coming back. Thank you for the feast.

The café on the first floor is open until 9 pm, making it easy for even solo customers to enjoy. The staff are friendly and strike a nice balance of being attentive but not intrusive. The curry, made with medicinal herbs, is incredibly delicious. The salad and post-meal medicinal tea that come with it offer great value. Next time, I plan to try the medicinal hot pot on the second floor.

Visited on Sunday at 12:30 pm. One customer before me, and the place is empty for dine-in, with only takeout orders. Maybe because it's far from the station? The café on the first floor is clean with a white-based interior. There is a spacious area for selling additive-free products, and seating is limited. Orders are placed through a QR code. Ordered the Green & Sichuan Pepper W Herbal Curry for 1,200 yen. Immediately after ordering, received a set of three small side dishes and black soybean tea. Each dish was small but satisfying. The broccoli was especially delicious. The curry was served in just 3 minutes. Surprisingly fast. The Green Curry with herbs had white mushrooms, and the Japanese-style Sichuan Pepper Curry had black mushrooms. Both were quite spicy! I preferred the creaminess of the Green Curry with coconut. Looking back, there were hardly any vegetables in the curry... They also offer ramen, rice bowls, and rice sets, all of which looked delicious and healthy. Maybe because it was empty, but it seems like you can stay for a while.

"Tsukiyomi Ramen (Sichuan-style) set with mini Sansho curry. This restaurant emphasizes medicinal herbs, so even though the ramen is delicious, it doesn't feel unhealthy at all. Despite being labeled as Sichuan-style or Sansho curry, they are not spicy at all, but have a natural and tasty flavor. The set also comes with appetizers, adding a touch of luxury and making it appealing to women. I've been enjoying it recently. Highly recommended."

I made a reservation for a rare medicinal Italian cuisine! Each dish was carefully prepared and very delicious. In addition to Italian cuisine, they also offer yakiniku and hot pot. On the first floor, they sell various items such as Basque cakes and bread, so I would like to visit again at a leisurely pace. I found a great restaurant.

Today's lunch adventure took me to the area around Tsukiji Station. I exited from Exit 1 of the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line Tsukiji Station and found myself on Shiodome Avenue. I turned left onto Shiodome Avenue, walking towards the direction of Harumi Avenue. After a while, I reached Harumi Avenue and turned left, continuing straight ahead towards Harumi. I crossed the signal at Tsukiji 6-chome and kept walking straight, turning left at the second T-junction. After a short walk and crossing the first crossroad, I found "Food Lab Tsukiji" on my right side. I entered the restaurant at 12:05 on a weekday and was informed by a male staff member that I needed to order at the central counter. The menu included various lunch sets such as different types of ramen, rice sets, and salad bowls. I asked the staff for a recommendation and ordered the "Morning Sun Ramen" and the "Mini Sichuan Curry." The dishes were served promptly, with a plate of three small side dishes and herbal tea. The "Morning Sun Ramen" had a clear soup with toppings like seasoned egg and daikon radish sprouts. The soup was subtly flavored with bonito, and the noodles were smooth and enjoyable to eat. The "Mini Sichuan Curry" had a hint of Sichuan pepper aroma and a mild spiciness. I enjoyed alternating between the curry and ramen, savoring the flavors. After finishing the curry and ramen, I drank the remaining soup and finished my meal. It was a satisfying lunch experience with flavorful herbal dishes.

I made a same-day reservation and arrived at 5:00 PM. The first floor of the store sells additive-free products, and I was led to the second floor. The atmosphere was nice, but the semi-private table seating made it a bit difficult to relax as I could hear the conversations from the next table. It probably depends on the customers who come in that day. On that day, there were three women who seemed to be office workers. The variety of drinks was impressive, with unique options like Longan Sour, and the all-you-can-drink deal felt really worth it. The food had just the right amount of portion and I would like to visit again if I have the chance. Thank you to the staff for their polite explanations and service.

Last year, an interesting organic concept store opened in Tsukiji. What makes it interesting is that... On the first floor, there is a select shop that offers everything from natural wines to frozen foods, with a café attached. The second floor features three ambitious concepts: "Yin Yang Medicinal Hot Pot" produced by a Chinese medicine pharmacist, "Yakiniku + Natural Wine," and an "Organic Restaurant." A mysterious combination of Chinese medicine, yakiniku, and organic... When you look at their online page, you'll see that there are a wide variety of themes for the medicinal hot pot. You can even enjoy it from lunchtime if you make a reservation. The natural wine is a collaboration with the popular wine bar "Sakubidoba" in Tsukiji. When I called to confirm the last order for lunch that day, I found out they have continuous service. Well, of course, because the first floor has both a shop and a café. I didn't know there was a shop there... During the idle time, a sharply dressed male staff member was handling everything on the first floor alone. He was also managing sales in the shop, so it seemed a bit tough. I had actually done some research and was looking forward to trying the curry on the café menu, so I ordered the Sichuan medicinal curry and the medicinal green curry for sharing. They also offer medicinal ramen and organic salad bowls. I sat at the counter by the wall. What arrived was a visually healthy dish of curry with brown rice like mixed grain rice sandwiched in between. Several types of deep-fried vegetables were on top. The vegetables must be organic. The green curry was a straightforward Thai curry with the usual green curry flavor. The Sichuan medicinal curry had a delicious scent of Sichuan pepper. The spiciness was mild. Just when I thought that was it, three side dishes appeared. They included a glass noodle salad, potatoes, and purple onions, a small amount but a nice addition. Just when I thought that was it, they also served a non-caffeine medicinal tea. All of this for 1,100 yen is quite reasonable. After eating, I was shown the second floor, which had a surprisingly calm atmosphere. There were customers having a lively medicinal hot pot in a semi-private room, probably for a lunchtime girls' gathering. On the first floor, there were Basque cheesecakes and additive-free sweets available, and upon closer inspection, there was a 2,200 yen option for a 2-hour all-you-can-drink wine and tea. The store was unexpectedly spacious, and as I explored further, I found a select shop offering everything from frozen foods to natural wines, sweets, seasonings, and even T-shirts. An organic complex that can cater to the needs of those who are greedy for variety. That's why this store is so interesting.

Well, give it a try♪ #Killer phrase of additive-free and herbal cuisine My drinking buddies said it was good at night, so I went for lunch. The first floor is a shop specializing in additive-free and herbal cuisine. They have a variety of wines, which I would like to try next time. The menu has a lot of options, making it hard to decide. I was curious about the curry, but ended up ordering the tantanmen ramen. It came with appetizers and herbal tea, all for a reasonable price. As for the taste, it was strong considering it's additive-free, but the saltiness was a bit overpowering. Maybe seasoning is tricky when it's additive-free? Nevertheless, I'd like to try other ramen, curry, hot pot, and grilled meat dishes in the evening. I didn't take photos, but the cakes were all delicious. I'll definitely go back again.

One person, one pot! I tried the course at the medicinal hot pot restaurant "Tsuki to Taiyo no Yakuzen Nabe," where everything is handmade from the soup base. The medicinal hot pot, started by pharmacist and medicinal cook Ririko Yamaguchi, is incredibly meticulous in its ingredient selection, and honestly, when I heard it was a restaurant located above an additive-free food store, I didn't quite get it. But as I took a bite or two, I could tell they put a lot of effort into the broth and the selection of Chinese herbs, and the four rounds of flavor-changing hot pot kept me engaged with different ways of eating and scenarios, providing a unique dining experience! The journey from sunrise to moonlit night is reflected in the course, with each dish accompanied by delicious eating methods and explanations of the medicinal herbs used. It was very intriguing, educational, and made me want to delve deeper into medicinal cuisine! The course included "Tamogi Nabe," a hot pot with eight types of mushrooms, pumpkin, Chinese cabbage, zucchini, and various vegetables. The soup at dawn was a vegetable and dried fish soup that was deeply satisfying. The sunrise dish featured mushrooms soaked in clear broth with ginger, jujube, and Western ginseng, offering a gentle flavor. The sun dish was a beef dish with a spicy, curry-like broth that was energizing - a flavor I really loved. The twilight dish involved eating pickled cabbage and fermented foods wrapped in pork with a soup reminiscent of pork bone ramen, creating a fantastic combination. For the moonlit night, I chose pho, where the sesame flavor floated gently in my mouth, and I dipped the noodles in the simmered broth for a delicious experience. On the first floor, there is a select shop for additive-free foods with a café, where I tried the focaccia French toast with seasonal jam and salted whip cream, which was absolutely delicious! Apparently, the other cakes and sweets are also tasty, making it a hidden gem for a new café, don't you think?

In April, a new shop opened in Tsukiji. The restaurant on the second floor is quite hidden, and I was a bit confused at first. I tried the Beauty Cuisine Hot Pot course developed by Chinese medicine pharmacist Ririko Yamaguchi. It was a great course where you can enjoy changing the taste of one pot and get excited about unfamiliar ingredients, all while getting the necessary nutrients for beauty and health in a delicious way! The pot was filled with mushrooms and vegetables I had never seen before. The ingredients were carefully selected, fresh, and delicious. You can request to have one pot per person, and I enjoyed it that way. I got hooked on the jujube in the Chinese medicine hot pot, which tasted like figs, and my friends and I were impressed! On the first floor, there is a select shop for additive-free foods (they also had a lot of jujube!), and there were so many things that caught my interest that I couldn't leave easily. Highly recommended for women interested in beauty.

Hanpo pharmacist Ririko Yamaguchi developed a medicinal hot pot that is now available at a new restaurant. Located behind Tsukiji Honganji Temple, on the second floor after passing through a select shop for additive-free food on the first floor, the restaurant offers a lovely setting suitable for a casual date or a girls' night out. We opted for the popular "Medicinal Hot Pot of the Moon and Sun" course. The meal included: - Dawn Vegetable and Dried Bonito Soup - Appetizer of Sea Urchin, Salmon Roe, and Secret Beans - Medicinal Hot Pot with Seasonal Vegetables and Mushrooms - Sun Course with Black Wagyu Sirloin - Dusk Course with Fermented Chinese Cabbage and Domestic Pork - Moon Course with Additive-Free Chinese Noodles - Dessert The concept behind the medicinal hot pot is to make diners experience the changes of a day in their bodies, from the sweetness of the soup base to the rich flavors of the various courses. The ingredients are of high quality and additive-free, promoting a sense of well-being. The hot pot was a first for me and I was impressed by the flavors and textures of each course. I felt revitalized by the end of the meal, which was perfect for a day when I was feeling tired. I also bought a Melon Shortcake from the select shop on the first floor, which was delicious. I heard that the natsu-me beans used in the hot pot can promote longevity when consumed three a day, so I regret not buying them. I plan to return for the medicinal ramen lunch set, which is also based on the same soup, and perhaps purchase natsu-me beans next time. Located in Tsukiji, the complex facility "Shokuryohin-ten FOOD LAB" offers additive-free food products. The first floor features a select shop with additive-free prepared foods and domestically produced medicinal herbs available for purchase. On the second floor, there is a medicinal cuisine restaurant with a modern and calming atmosphere. I visited to try the medicinal hot pot, "The Balance of the Moon and Sun." This traditional Japanese medicinal hot pot course allows you to enjoy the balance of Yin and Yang. The meal included: - Dawn vegetable and dried fish soup - 24 solar terms appetizer with sea urchin and salmon roe wrapped in seaweed - Morning sun seasonal vegetables and mushrooms hot pot with various medicinal herbs - Sun - Black Wagyu sirloin with medicinal soup for shabu-shabu - Dusk - Fermented Chinese cabbage and domestic pork with white soup for shabu-shabu - Moon night - Additive-free Chinese noodles or rice noodles with medicinal soup The meal concluded with dessert and medicinal tea. After enjoying the variety of medicinal ingredients in the hot pot, my body felt warm and my digestion improved the next day. The medicinal hot pot helps detoxify the body and boosts metabolism and immunity, making it perfect for the current hot season when energy is easily depleted. They also offer medicinal hot pot lunches, which I would love to try next time.

I went to a restaurant where the course meal "Moon and Sun Medicinal Hot Pot" was supervised by pharmacist, international Chinese medicine doctor, and international medicinal food management specialist Ririko Yamaguchi. All the meals were additive-free and I could feel the attention to detail in the ingredients at the restaurant. I love hot pot and medicinal hot pot, but often the focus is too much on the soup and Chinese medicine, and not enough on the meat. However, the course meal I had included A5 rank Wagyu sirloin and domestically produced pork, which were both delicious! You can see the color of the food in the photos. They also offer options for vegans and pescatarians, and after hearing about the changes they are making to the vegan menu, I think it will be even more delicious in the future. The staff provided very detailed explanations and service. Personally, I think the restaurant could be a bit brighter even during lunchtime.

I was looking for a nice store with organic ingredients, and my mom friend recommended this place. Three sets of parents and children visited, and the food, service, and products were all excellent! We will definitely come back. The first floor has a store and a small cafe space, and the restaurant is on the second floor. The stairs are quite steep, so the staff kindly carried our stroller up for us. We enjoyed drinking alcohol and desserts from lunchtime. The ramen, cold noodles, and basque cheesecake were all amazing! I heard they also have yakiniku, so I would love to try it at night as the atmosphere is very nice!

I made a reservation here through a friend's recommendation. It is a completely reservation-only place with a shop selling organic and additive-free products on the first floor, and a cafe space for dining in. The actual restaurant is on the second floor, so it may look like just a shop at first glance, adding to its hidden gem feel! The main dish is a medicinal hot pot, but they also offer a grilled meat course! I made a reservation for the grilled meat course! They use meat that has not been treated with hormones or injections, and they are very particular about the ingredients they use! This is why it makes sense for them to be reservation-only! I definitely want to come back to this restaurant! Thank you for the delicious meal!

♡----Tsukiji Gourmet----♡ At an age when I started to worry about my health, the recent unpleasant weather has been making me feel sluggish and low on energy. That's when I was introduced to a restaurant where I could enjoy a hot pot of Chinese herbal medicine, Food Lab Tsukiji @foodlab_tsukiji. - Moon and Sun Herbal Hot Pot ~Basic Course~ 7700 yen A Japanese-style herbal hot pot course to enjoy the balance of yin and yang. First, the beautiful pharmacist, Ririko Yamaguchi @ririko_yamaguchi, explained each course and the Chinese herbal medicine in detail and with kindness while serving them. The ingredients used here are all natural and pesticide-free, focusing on using only ingredients that are good for the body. - Dawn - A vegetable and dried fish soup that is so delicious I could drink it endlessly. Made with dashi, kombu, and vegetables like Chinese cabbage, this soup serves as the base of the hot pot. - 24 Solar Terms Appetizer - Uni and ikura that remind me of a sushi restaurant, but served on top of Yamagata's secret beans. Absolutely delicious. - Herbal Hot Pot - The main dish of the course. A hot pot filled with Chinese herbal medicine to awaken the senses. - Seasonal Vegetables and Mushrooms - I noticed later that refills were allowed. - Sun - Ingredients to invigorate the body. The first flavor change involves adding a mixture of four kinds of herbal powder and ginger sauce. The aroma was amazing. - Domestic Black Wagyu Sirloin A4 - Served shabu-shabu style with a hint of rawness that was irresistible. - Dusk - The second flavor change involves adding acidity and wolfberries to the hot pot. - Fermented Chinese Cabbage and Domestic Pork - Fermented Chinese cabbage with a slight acidity and shabu-shabu-style Shonan Miyaji pork. The texture and flavor of the fermented cabbage complement the pork well. - Moonlit Night - Adding almonds and malted barley milk for the third flavor change. - Additive-free Chinese Noodles - With a nutty and sweet flavor, reminiscent of a gentle tantanmen. - Today's Dessert - Kawachi late oranges with cream cheese and sweet red beans. The cream cheese was rich and delicious. I used to think that Chinese medicine would taste bad or have a strong flavor, but after trying it here, my perception has completely changed. It was delicious and incredibly good for the body, which is wonderful. The restaurant was busy with repeat customers even on a weekday night, and it had a health-conscious and fashionable atmosphere. I highly recommend it for a girls' night out, a date, or any occasion. The hot pot is for one person, so you can choose your own course. Another course (seafood course) and photos of the pescatarian course are also available. The pescatarian course includes shrimp and scallops instead of other ingredients. The broth is different, so the final noodles for the basic course are tantanmen-style, while the pescatarian course has seafood salt potage noodles. The flavors are completely different, so changing courses keeps it exciting. The first floor of the restaurant also has a shop that sells pesticide-free and additive-free ingredients, which I found intriguing. I couldn't resist taking home some bread and basque cheesecake. Lunch is also served, and I'm curious about the Chinese herbal cold noodles, so I'll definitely be back! It was a delightful and delicious experience that was also good for the body. Thank you for the wonderful meal. FOOD LAB Tsukiji @foodlab_tsukiji @yakiniku_mutenka 2nd Floor, Herbal Hot Pot Restaurant Weekdays & Saturdays 12:00-22:00 (L.O. 21:30) Last Order
