I came here with friends for a drinking session with the goal of enjoying delicious squid and plenty of sake. We started with fresh squid sashimi, specifically Surume squid that day. We were able to try squid fishing, so we gave it a shot. Wearing raincoats, we hooked the fishing line onto the squid's body and pulled it up. The squid was so lively, squirting ink all over! We first tried the squid legs sashimi. When we poured soy sauce on it, the legs started moving vigorously. Then, we were served squid sashimi with raw squid liver, which was incredibly delicious. Mixing the liver with the sashimi was exquisite. Next up was Enzara-yaki, made from Blackthroat seaperch. The flesh was fatty and tender, impressing everyone. The blowfish milt tempura was creamy and delicious as expected. We wanted to order horse mackerel sashimi, but we were told we could also try fishing for horse mackerel. Just like with the squid, we hooked the fishing line onto the gills and caught a lively horse mackerel. The sashimi with myoga was a fantastic combination. The remaining bones were deep-fried to make crispy bone senbei. The squid ink ajillo and squid ink pasta were dishes where you could taste the squid ink directly. The ajillo had a rich flavor, while the pasta had a more tomato-based taste. The sake selection, both by the glass and by the bottle, was extensive. The sake recommended by the sake-loving staff was rich and full-bodied. It might not be suitable for beginners, but it paired perfectly with the fatty seafood. Not only the squid but all the seafood we tried was delicious, and the range of sake was excellent, leaving us fully satisfied. Being able to try squid and horse mackerel fishing added to the entertainment factor. Despite the name and atmosphere suggesting a casual izakaya, this place is a seriously delicious seafood restaurant with a great selection of sake.

The squid sashimi is served first with just the tentacles. When you pour soy sauce on it, it moves squirmingly. The transparent flesh is soft and sweet, a new experience. The recommended fried rice by the staff is not just squid, but also plenty of fish, a completely different and innovative way to enjoy Chinese cuisine. The menu is also extensive, making it a restaurant you would want to visit again.

The salted sea squirt, live squid, live abalone, tempura of shirako (cod milt), grilled salted mackerel, scallop sashimi, grilled squid in foil, fried squid cartilage, shirasu (baby sardines) bowl, and two orders of rice were ordered. The live squid and other side dishes were incredibly delicious! It was great to have salted sea squirt, and the grilled fish and fried dishes were also delicious! The rice was so good that we ended up getting seconds! The live abalone was moving, and the freshness and taste were superb! It's a shame that they don't fry the squid cartilage anymore when you order live squid like they used to.

I tried squid fishing. It seems you have to hook the Emperor part without bait. It was quite difficult, but I finally managed to catch one. The squid I caught can be eaten as sashimi. Even though it was already prepared, it was still moving in my mouth and sucked on my tongue with its suckers. We also had a variety of sashimi and fried squid. The sashimi was delicious. There was a menu item where you dip the squid guts in, and it was also rich in flavor. I would love to go back again!

Located so close to Ueno Station that you won't need an umbrella in light rain. As the name suggests, this place is all about serving squid. From sashimi to squid rings, salted squid, and dried squid, they offer a variety of squid dishes. A must-visit for squid lovers. If the squid sashimi could be a bit more affordable, it would be even better.

The fish in the Kanto region is generally not very tasty, but the squid here is delicious. It is transparent, sweet, and has a strong flavor. While it may not compare to the original, being able to enjoy this taste in the heart of the city is satisfying. The photo is of a sashimi dish with spiny lobster.

This is my second visit to the Ueno branch. You can enjoy fresh and lively squid dishes. The sashimi is still moving, which adds to the fun. All the dishes are delicious. This time, I used a private room for the first time. It's a bit cramped for three people or more.

The menu at the Squid Center is mostly squid-based. We tried the sashimi platter and everything was freshly caught in the morning. There were turban shells, horse mackerel, bonito, octopus, and various other items. It was really delicious! We also got to enjoy oysters this season, and the squid sashimi was superb. There were translucent and sweet squids, as well as chewy ones. The squid tentacles were also delicious! I recommend trying the fried squid tentacles and the grilled liver with butter.

We visited with a group of 8 people, including 2 young children. The large size of the restaurant made it easy to enjoy our meal without being bothered by the kids' voices. We caught horse mackerel and red squid, with a big squid fetching ¥9000. The squid tentacles, when dipped in soy sauce, squirmed and stuck to our tongues, making for a delicious experience. The transparent sashimi of the squid was also tasty. The horse mackerel was on the smaller side. The restaurant was busy, leading to some delays in taking orders and serving food, but the staff were charming and made the experience enjoyable. We had a great time.

The squid ink pasta had a strong Italian flavor with a refreshing hint of tomato, which I personally enjoyed. As for the raw squid dish, I felt that the portion was a bit small for the price, but the boiled tentacles served later went well with mayonnaise. I would like to come back again.

The Ueno branch of Ikasen is the best! We enjoyed a variety of squid dishes like grilled squid in foil, butter sautéed squid, squid with chili sauce, fugu shirako tempura, mentaiko mayo squid, squid rings, and engawa yukke. They also offer squid fishing in a live tank, making it a great place for a unique drinking party or for families with children.

As the name suggests, this izakaya has a wide variety of squid dishes and you can also catch squid from the tank, which is quite fun. There are tatami rooms, so there were many families with small children. It was a bit challenging to catch both horse mackerel and squid, but it was also very interesting. When you catch the squid, be careful as they squirt out some kind of liquid. They provide raincoats, so make sure to wear them properly. Everything we ordered was delicious, but the sashimi platter for 2,000 yen with that volume was really good! Thank you for the meal! Ordered: - Squid sashimi (caught from the tank!) - Horse mackerel sashimi (caught from the tank!) - Sashimi platter for 2 - About 3 bottles of sake - About 2 other drinks Total around 12,000 yen

I love squid, so I decided to come here. The menu is filled with various squid dishes, such as squid ink croquettes and whole grilled squid. The grilled whole squid with one serving of dried squid is generous in size and delicious with its sauce. I tried squid fishing at the right moment and soon enough, I caught one. The squid sprayed ink vigorously. The freshly caught squid was served, and the tentacles were still moving. The sashimi was crunchy and incredibly fresh. For the finale, I had 6 pieces of nigiri sushi. The white fish was sea bream, which had a perfect balance of flavor with just the right amount of fat. It was truly satisfying.

It was a long-awaited drinking party with my colleagues at work. We came to Ueno Ikasen Center where you can catch live squid, chosen by my junior. The menu is all about squid! We ordered dishes according to our preferences and added a free-flowing drink option. I definitely wanted to try the live squid. Today, we ordered both the small-sized "live spear squid" and the large-sized "live Japanese flying squid". The Japanese flying squid was indeed large! The spear squid was small in size, so we got 2 servings for the price of 1. I have tried live squid in Fukuoka and Hakodate before, but I never thought I could eat live squid in Ueno. It was sweet and delicious! We ordered various dishes like squid rings, squid tempura, and squid yakisoba. The cost performance was a bit high, but the food was delicious. The drink-all-you-can option was also on the pricier side, but we were satisfied as we could enjoy famous Japanese sake. We had a great time drinking and eating delicious food. Thank you for the meal!

This shop mainly serves squid dishes, but other fish dishes are also delicious. The sashimi is tasty, so I ordered squid chili and squid dumplings from the Chinese menu that I rarely order. The squid chili is spicy, but the cream cheese makes it mellow and easy to eat. The squid dumplings have a gentle flavor and a nice texture, and the lightness of the squid enhances the enjoyment of drinking. The sashimi is horse mackerel. It is fresh and has a firm texture, very delicious. To finish, I had squid marinated rice bowl. The large pieces of marinated squid on top make a perfect match with the rice, and the addition of egg yolk adds richness. I didn't order the live squid sashimi this time, so I definitely want to try it next time.

Above all, the live squid is the best. The sashimi platter, live spiny lobster, and grilled dishes are all delicious, and they even make miso soup with the head of the live spiny lobster. The staff are all friendly and likeable. If it's nearby, I would love to visit this restaurant every week because I love it so much.

The food was all delicious, so I am satisfied. In particular, the wakame shabu-shabu was a first for me, and it was enjoyable to see it change to a beautiful color when dipped in hot water. I ordered grilled edamame, young bamboo shoot simmered dish, tempura of new spring onions, squid rings, and sashimi of kawahagi. The squid rings had plenty of tartar sauce on top and came in a generous portion of 6 pieces. The kawahagi was delicious and truly luxurious. The restaurant has a lively atmosphere with a fish tank at one end where you can even fish. There was a wide variety of drinks available, but the prices were a bit high. It may be a shame to not order the fresh squid and fish from the tank due to the prices, but it would be a waste! It's unique and I would like to indulge in it occasionally.

This shop not only serves delicious squid but also other seafood. Instead of aging the ingredients to bring out the flavor, they provide fresh seafood in its original state. You can really taste the freshness!! The service is quick, the staff is friendly, and I will definitely be coming back!

I made a reservation for a 7000 yen course for a drinking buddy who loves squid but doesn't like sashimi. They can enjoy squid fishing right in front of the elevator at the live tank, so those interested can have fun. Personally, I prefer drinking over fishing. The squid served as sashimi from the live tank was small in size, but in fishing ports, you can find larger live squid for sashimi. The squid I had in Yamaguchi was delicious. Besides squid, the sashimi, shellfish, and sushi were all delicious and enjoyable. I ordered squid tempura, which was deliciously fried in a traditional manner. Overall, the course meal was satisfying. Furthermore, they have a wide selection of sake for all-you-can-drink. The draft beer served was Super Dry, though...

The live squid and other menu items are delicious, and I have visited multiple times. You can also go squid fishing, and the taste matches the atmosphere of a high-end restaurant. Just when I thought I had ordered one drink, it was already gone. Prices may be high, but if possible, I would like them to offer smaller portions.

The squid sashimi is shown before being prepared, but it looks significantly smaller than what was shown earlier. The menu states it is a serving size, not a full portion, so that must be the catch, we discussed with my family.
