I don't write from revisiting H23, but we have a banquet every year at this time. It's always at the guesthouse. There is a slight sense of pressure in the basement. The special "Delicious Japan" course is always a staple, and this year it seems to be from Ehime Prefecture. The quality is quite good, and I'm very happy that it's not the usual chili sauce or mapo tofu, but rather a unique Chinese cuisine. The first time I had it was from Kagawa, and I've also had it from Nagasaki. Below is an excerpt from the menu on the website. It's a great way to earn a lot of words (laughs). 1. Ehime Prefecture: The Taste of Nature - Enjoy a selection of cold dishes - Tofu and colorful somen noodles - Pike conger with mustard miso dressing - New Castle Pon soybean candy - Tomato and ricotta cheese with apricot liqueur flavor - Steamed shiitake mushrooms - Thick jellyfish - Ehime sweet and tender pork char siu - Grilled Ehime chicken 2. Uwajima City: 3-year-old softshell turtle soup with shark fin, snow crab, and wolfberry seed soup 3. Three flavors: Natural yam from Saijo City, Seafood shumai with sea bream from Ainan-cho, Caviar fish aroma fried in kataifi with red shrimp toast 4. Uwajima City: Mandarin fish sautéed with jujube spicy sauce and garlic from Shirono 5. Uwajima City: Scallop, swordtip squid, and broccoli with thick shiitake mushrooms and stir-fried wood ear mushrooms 6. Ehime Prefecture: Iyo beef roast beef with colorful vegetable rolls and Matsuyama City Kitajou soybean seeds special sauce 7. Ainan "Hand-picked" kettle-fished whitebait and char siu fragrant fried rice 8. Ozu City: Coconut milk with sweet potatoes and carrot red sonata jelly sauce harmony I hope they continue this series of dishes from all over Japan. H23.2 First visit for a banquet. I think it's probably a course around 10,000 yen including drinks, but I won't go into details. The Jade Room where the event took place was a bit low-ceilinged and felt cramped because it was in the basement. It seemed like there was a Kagawa fair that day, as the course menu had mentions of Sanuki. The dishes we had were as follows: - A selection of cold dishes - South China-style hospitality with sea cucumber and shark's fin - Surimi toast fried and oyster kataifi fried - Stir-fried squid, scallops, yellow chives, snap peas, and spring vegetables with sun-dried salt - Sanuki beef sautéed with broccoli and white asparagus in homemade XO sauce - Special large prawns in Beijing-style sweet and spicy sauce with green banana on the side The XO sauce was delicious, and the meat was tender and satisfying. The dish was quite tasty and the XO sauce was delicious. The meat was tender and satisfying. The special large prawns in Beijing-style sweet and spicy sauce with green banana on the side were delicious.

On Saturday at 6pm, I visited the restaurant for dinner after making a reservation. I was guided to a semi-private area with a familiar rotating large round table, which provided a nice sense of privacy. The chic and calm interior, along with the courteous service of the staff, made this one of my favorite restaurants. Instead of a course menu, I chose dishes a la carte from the grand menu. - Crab omelette: The luxurious flavor of crab paired well with the gentle egg in this simple dish. - Braised crab and tofu: A dish of delicate tofu and crab cooked in a savory Chinese broth with a hint of saltiness. - Cantonese-style sweet and sour pork: A delicious dish with a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity in the sauce, with the addition of pineapple for a nostalgic touch. - Mapo tofu in a clay pot: A flavorful dish with a good level of spiciness and the numbing sensation of Sichuan peppercorns, offering a rich and savory taste. - Stir-fried noodles with assorted ingredients in a thick sauce: A dish of vegetable-packed noodles in a tasty sauce that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. In addition, we also had xiaolongbao, spring rolls with assorted ingredients, daikon mochi, Qingdao beer, and more, totaling just over 28,000 yen (including tax) for four people.

I visited this restaurant for lunch on a Saturday. The area is known for having a lot of young people, but surprisingly there was no line to get in! The first floor has a spacious waiting area with sofas where you can relax while waiting to be seated. The dining area is located downstairs. The restaurant has a wide, well-spaced layout. I had the lunch set with ankake yakisoba, which came with shumai and almond jelly. It was around 1,500 yen. Considering the comfortable atmosphere, it's definitely worth the price!

I visited after a decade. For those of us who have been living in Shibuya Ward before Harajuku flourished, places like Nankoku Sakuya and Maizumi were like family restaurants, often used for events and gatherings. It's a big place, so I thought it would be fine, but when I arrived at 1 pm on a weekday without a reservation, I was told there would be a 30-minute wait. I almost decided to leave, but the scorching 36°C outside and the sight of today's menu item, large deep-fried shrimp with black vinegar mayo sauce, dazzled me. I waited for over 40 minutes in the air-conditioned waiting room, which usually I wouldn't do as I don't even wait 10 minutes normally. I finally entered the restaurant just before 2 pm. I had plans at 3 pm, so I wanted to leave by 2:50 pm. I asked if that would be okay, and they said it would be fine. I placed my order immediately, and the dish arrived in less than 10 minutes. I felt a bit sorry sitting alone at a corner table that could fit 4-5 people. I wondered why they could serve the dish so quickly but make us wait so long. It turned out they were short-staffed. Some tables were not cleared yet. The staff were all very efficient, but it seemed to be a matter of not having enough people. I had hoped to enjoy a leisurely solo lunch with a beer since I had extra time, but that was not possible due to the wait. Now, onto the taste. The side dishes included char siu, marinated bonito, sweet vinegar-pickled myoga and cucumber, and namul with bean sprouts and Chinese ham. They were delicious and perfect for summer. The large shrimp fritter with black vinegar mayo was amazing. The shrimp was cooked perfectly. The fried eggplant and bitter gourd also paired well. I enjoyed changing the flavor with mustard. Unlike with a certain famous shumai that gives me heartburn, I didn't experience that with Nankoku Sakuya. I enjoyed it with the vinegar and mustard on the table. The taste was wonderful! Although the soup with shark fin was a featured menu item, I couldn't really taste the shark fin, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, it had a gentle Cantonese flavor. My husband doesn't like Chinese food much, but I like it because I can eat vegetables. The bill came to around 3000 yen including tax and service charge. It was indeed delicious, but a bit pricey. Next time, I want to try the Ankake Yakisoba! I'm not sure if the crowded conditions were just a coincidence, but do people usually make reservations for solo lunches? I understand for hotels, but for restaurants? The taste is unquestionably good, but I'm a little hesitant. Thank you for the meal. The taste was delicious. It seems they will have some days off this summer due to renovation work. Please take note.

A Chinese restaurant located right near Harajuku Station. It is quite upscale and has been a long-standing establishment for about 60 years. Their concept is to serve delicious Chinese cuisine that suits the Japanese palate, made by Japanese chefs. I have visited this restaurant nearly 10 times. The food is always reliable and delicious. On this day, I had the Reihou course. △ Started with a toast with beer ○ Chef's selection: Seasonal five cold appetizer platter - boiled shrimp, jellyfish, Jinhuaham, duck, tomato, lotus root. It's a comforting and tasty meal. △ White wine - I drank a lot of wine this day. ○ Nankoku Sakuya: Shark fin soup with crab roe - this is a classic dish. The soup is deliciously seasoned, with a thick texture reminiscent of Japanese shark fin soup. When you go to China or Taiwan, you often get shark fin soup that is quite different and sometimes disappointing. ○ Chiba Prefecture: Deep-fried swordfish with Okinawa sea grapes and sour sauce - crispy and delicious. The sour sauce made with sea grapes is refreshing. ○ Aomori Prefecture: Cold scallop with mustard dressing and Nagano Romaine lettuce - the scallops are thick and juicy. The mustard dressing is slightly spicy and tasty. ○ Niigata Prefecture: Niigata Wagyu beef and silk-skinned eggplant stir-fried with organic soy sauce - I forgot to take a photo. This is a typical Chinese-style beef dish. The oyster sauce adds a nice flavor. ○ White shrimp in chili sauce with three kinds of warm vegetables - large prawns that are firm and juicy. The chili sauce is mildly spicy and delicious. ○ Chicken and colorful vegetable stir-fried noodles with thick sauce - the thick sauce is delicious. ○ Lychee jelly with seasonal fruit decoration - this dessert has a nice sweetness. The delicious jelly and fruits like pineapple made for a great banquet. We were all busy talking and didn't take many photos. I drank a lot of wine and got a bit tipsy. But the food was reliably tasty, the service was excellent, and we had a great time. Thank you for the meal.

I couldn't finish the Chinese meal by myself, so I invited a friend today. We ordered sweet and sour pork, shrimp chili, beef with XO sauce, crab dumplings, and cold dishes, and toasted with beer. I had Chinese green tea. We spent about 2 hours enjoying the best lunch. The service was excellent too. It was a truly meaningful moment. Sometimes, going for a high-end lunch enriches the soul. Thank you very much.

I arrived at the restaurant around 20 minutes before it opened at 11:30 without a reservation. Even though it was a weekday, they were already fully booked with reservations. As expected, it's in Jingumae. However, I waited comfortably in the first-floor waiting room for less than 30 minutes. By 11:30, I was guided to the underground dining area. I ordered the shrimp dish from the lunch set menu. The taste was orthodox, without any strong flavors, and I enjoyed it. It's a Chinese dish that would appeal to everyone. Due to the location, the price was a bit on the expensive side, but it was a satisfying meal.

Arrived on Saturday around 13:00 without a reservation. Was told there would be about a 30-minute wait, but the spacious and comfortable sofa inside made it stress-free. Couldn't decide whether to go for a set menu or a la carte, but finally chose a la carte as I wanted to leisurely enjoy my drinks. The steamed chicken was exceptional, with perfect seasoning. I've tried many places in Tokyo, but this might be the best! The shark fin and crab soup was also amazing, a must-order dish. The service at this long-established restaurant was top-notch. This is definitely the place to have your year-end party!

I came to Harajuku with a friend for the first time in a while. I remembered the collaboration they had with Seven Eleven, so we went to Nankoku Sakuya. Since I was with a friend who drinks alcohol today, we just ordered individual dishes. Everything was delicious, but the shrimp chili was exceptional. Thank you for the meal. We will come again next month.

Today was my son's birthday, so we went out for a meal together. We originally wanted to have a course meal, but it was too much food, so we settled for an ankake rice dish and ankake yakisoba instead. We also treated ourselves a little by having Pai Mu Tan tea in a pot. The taste of this tea reminded us of the tea we had from a Chinese acquaintance in the past, and we were both impressed by it.

There aren't many large restaurants like this in Harajuku. Therefore, it is suitable for large groups and entertaining clients. It gives off a vibe that it is loved by traditional or older companies. The service is similar to that of a hotel, aiming to minimize any negatives. The taste of the food is faithful to the basics. It may not be innovative, but it is safe. Ordering the basic course helps in understanding the budget for business meals. The ankake yakisoba served at the end was the most memorable and delicious. The restaurant has an escalator inside, giving off a vibe of the Showa era bubble economy. Thank you for the meal.

It was a spacious and comfortable space, perfect for families with children! The restaurant even had escalators inside, showing how big it was! The service was pleasant and the food came out quickly. Even though I was full, I couldn't resist getting dessert and buying some frozen meat buns to take home.

To Nanjokushuka in Harajuku. For some reason, my stomach was hurting so I opted for a gentle ankake tsuyu soba. The service here is always impressive no matter when you visit. It's definitely worth more than the price. The Gomoku tsuyu soba I ordered was gentle and packed with ingredients, making it hard to stop eating with both chopsticks and spoon. The sweet shiru that comes later is really delicious. The shumai was very large and I enjoyed it with vinegar soy sauce. It was a delicious Gomoku tsuyu soba. Thank you for the meal!!

To Nan Guo Sakuya in Harajuku. It's quite crowded here during lunchtime. I ordered spring rolls, hot and sour soup noodles, and tantan noodles. The spring rolls were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, but the real highlight was the hot and sour soup noodles. The tangy flavor makes you want to keep eating it over and over again. The acidity from the tomatoes was particularly good. Next time, I'll definitely go for the hot and sour soup noodles again! Thank you for the meal!

Southern Country Sakaya Harajuku Main Store, it's the day after drinking, so time for a hangover meal. I heard on TV that a yakisoba specialty shop owned by Southern Country Sakaya opened at Tokyo Station. I realized that I had never been to the main store in Harajuku, so I decided to go during lunchtime. The restaurant seemed spacious with plenty of seats, so even going during lunchtime should be fine! The familiar sign. First time going inside. Surprisingly, the interior looked completely different from the outside and felt very new. There was a long escalator, and it seemed like the seating was underground. It was very spacious and clean. Lunch Special Course 3800 yen Amber Lunch A/B 2500 yen Southern Country Lunch C/D 1680 yen Yakisoba Set 1850 yen I was curious about the yakisoba, so I ordered the Yakisoba Set. The official name is Yakisoba with Plenty of Ingredients and Thick Sauce Set. Yakisoba with Plenty of Ingredients and Thick Sauce Set (1850 yen) Wow, it looks delicious. Quite a lot of ingredients. The name "Plenty of Ingredients" is not just for show. There are plenty of ingredients, and you can hardly see the noodles. When I moved some of the ingredients aside, the noodles appeared. I took a bite, and it was flavorful with a slightly firm and delicious thick sauce! It has a soy sauce flavor, but it's very mellow and gentle. The noodles are thin and slightly firm. There are some burnt spots, but it's not overly crispy. The firm sauce coats the noodles well and tastes great. I see, this could definitely be a yakisoba specialty shop! About halfway through, I drizzled vinegar over it to add a refreshing touch, and then I finished it all. This one is probably the Southern Country D Lunch. Organic soy sauce stir-fry with domestic pork and seasonal vegetables. This one also looks very delicious. The lunch menu at Southern Country Sakaya has a wide variety of items, making it enjoyable to look at and feels like a good deal. Overall, it was my first time at Southern Country Sakaya, and despite the entrance feeling, the interior was spacious and clean, and the dishes had a gentle flavor that was quite nice. With the possibility of having spacious private rooms, it could also be suitable for gatherings in the evening. It's a shame I hadn't been here before! I definitely plan to come back again.

I had always wanted to visit the main branch of Nankoku Sakuya. The first floor is the reception area, where you wait in the lobby looking at the menu. Once you are seated, you take an escalator downstairs to a spacious restaurant. I tried both draft beer and bottled beer. The bottled beer seemed to go better with the menu. Each drink was served with care. The flavors were gentle and all delicious. I had a wonderful and elegant time there.

As soon as you enter from Harajuku Station to Omotesando, there is a long-established Chinese restaurant called Nankoku Sakuya. I had been curious about it for a while, but I didn't have the chance to visit until recently when I had work nearby. The interior of the restaurant is luxurious, and the service is proper. I ordered the Nankoku Lunch C. The appetizer, side dish, soup, salad, and shumai were not bad, but if asked if they were really delicious, I would say it's mediocre. When asked if the main dish of natural shrimp and seasonal vegetables stir-fried with salt was worth the 2000 yen lunch price, I couldn't help but say that it's not that tasty for the price. I prefer the almond jelly dessert from a certain convenience store. Well, I understand that the location is good, but I don't think I will actively repeat my visit.

I visited for the first time at a private room rental party for a friend's birthday. The Foodlog rating at the time of the visit was 3.55. The location is a 2-minute walk from the JR Yamanote Line Harajuku Station East Exit towards Omotesando. What I had: - Chef's special "Spring" assorted cold dishes - Dried abalone and dried scallop in organic soy sauce stewed with red-braised chicken wings - Seafood and dried abalone spring rolls with Shanghai crab miso - Baked pumpkin cream with scallops and spring vegetables - Spicy tomato sauce with giant tiger prawns - Sautéed Akita black wagyu beef with homemade spicy sauce and seasonal vegetables - Peking duck - Deep-fried black rice from Nagano with crab meat sauce - Chef's special dessert plate Thank you for reading until the end! If you could 'like', 'follow', or 'save the restaurant', it would be encouraging for the future, so thank you in advance!

The building may be old, but this restaurant exudes cleanliness and sophistication that you wouldn't even notice. It is an all-purpose restaurant suitable for everyday dining, special occasions, and parties. The food is consistently delicious, making it a safe choice for any dish. Despite its already stable popularity, it seems even busier now, possibly due to reducing seating and staff after the COVID outbreak. It's best to make a reservation for weekends.

The restaurant has spacious general seating, as well as many private and semi-private rooms scattered around, and even banquet halls. The classic crab roe and shark fin soup is excellent. The Cantonese-style dishes, suitable for Japanese tastes, are well-seasoned and all dishes are of high quality. The cost performance is great, and with round tables available, it's perfect for enjoying Chinese cuisine with a large group.

I went to the ward office in Harajuku. I entered the restaurant around 11:15 and was directed to the waiting room. It was warm inside, unlike waiting outside, which might explain the service charge. While waiting, I explored the menu. More and more customers came in, mostly older. I was seated first. I went down an escalator to order the lunch set - I had salt stir-fried shrimp and squid, while my friend had sweet and sour pork. Surprisingly, we had to wait a long time. The presentation was beautiful, and the shrimp was delicious, but there were only 3 small shrimp... The squid was thin and left me feeling unsatisfied. The sweet and sour pork had a good amount of flavor without being overwhelming, and the pickled vegetables were tasty. The soup was a bit bland. The dumplings were very delicious. The rice portion was small, just enough for one light bowl. The almond jelly and canned fruit for dessert were light. On a side note, the couple next to us had such a long wait for their food that it made us worry. The bill came to just over 4000 yen including service charge and tax. Thank you for the meal!

Located a 2-3 minute walk from Harajuku Station, this Chinese restaurant has been a popular choice for many years. We visited with our family for New Year's and reserved a private room. It is a tradition for many customers to make reservations for the following year while dining, and the restaurant was bustling with activity on the day of our visit.
