Recently, a new animal cafe called "Animil" opened in DECKS Tokyo in Odaiba. It is a branch of a popular shop from Osaka. When my family visited DECKS, my child wanted to go there, so we decided to check it out. This cafe is like a more developed version of a cat cafe, as it features not only cats but also various other animals. While I occasionally visit cat cafes, this was my second time at an animal cafe so I can't compare much, but I found it enjoyable to interact with the animals. However, it can get a bit crowded on weekends. The system for adults involves paying an entrance fee, for example, 1650 yen for 45 minutes, and also purchasing a drink which costs around 550 yen. It's quite expensive, to be honest. But for children, the entrance fee is cheaper and they don't need to order a drink. The drink menu is extensive compared to typical cat cafes, with homemade lemonade, cocktails, and even alcohol available. I opted for orange juice, which was refreshing and not too sour, more on the sweet side. It tasted better than the cheapest orange juice you find in supermarkets. Overall, the main attraction of this cafe is the animals, so don't expect too much from the drinks. There are different rooms with dogs, cats, meerkats, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, iguanas, parrots, ducks, and more. It's a great place for families with young children to enjoy.
