It was too hot, so I stopped for a break and ordered the condensed milk strawberry shaved ice shake that most people were getting. I ended up getting both the shaved ice and shake together, which made me feel like I got a good deal. It was cold and sweet, and my body temperature went down. There are not many places to sit and rest in Japan. Especially on a rainy day like today. While looking for a cafe to relax, I found a place on Rainbow Road that sells baked Koala's March. It seems there are only about 3 stores nationwide. I ordered 2 Koala's March chocolates for 163 yen each and a hot coffee for 280 yen to enjoy inside the store. The total came to 608 yen, which I paid with a credit card. The taste was average. The appearance was cute, and I think it would be fine to sell them at Lotteria as well.

Lotteria in Korea, owned by Korean Lotte, has a strong influence as a conglomerate, with over 700 stores. It is the most famous fast food chain in Korea, surpassing McDonald's. The name is a combination of "Lotte" and "cafeteria". In Nakano Sun Mall shopping street, the store stands out with unique features like plush toys secured with strings to prevent them from falling off chairs, giving them a charming and cute appearance.

You can add alcohol to the set menu (burger + side + drink) for an additional ¥100. I added a Super Dry beer to the teriyaki burger set. Burgers and beer really do go well together! Chain restaurant burgers are mostly from Mos Burger and Freshness Burger, so having a pre-made burger was a bit of a change. However, the fries were crispy and more to my liking compared to McDonald's.

Moved to Nakano for a meeting. Decided to have a tea at the Lotteria in the Sun Mall shopping street near the station. There was a koala mascot sitting by the entrance of the shop. This shop is actually the birthplace of Koala's March baked treats. It's strange that currently, these treats are only sold here and in Kushiro, with no signs of expanding. It seems that due to the equipment and facilities needed, as well as the need for constant attention while baking, it's not easy to increase the number of selling locations. I always thought it was for takeout only, but when I asked if I could eat in, they showed me the menu for eating in with Koala's March treats. There are three flavors: plain, custard, and Ghana milk chocolate, and I chose the Ghana milk chocolate. It's a pancake-like pastry with Ghana milk chocolate melted inside. The limited edition hat on top made the mascot's face look a bit eerie. I apologized and cracked it open, revealing a generous amount of chocolate inside. It's not chocolate cream or chocolate filling, just straight-up chocolate, giving it a unique and adult taste - sweet, bitter, and slightly sour. The Lotteria's iced coffee, with its strong bitterness and roasted aroma, paired well with the sweet treat, refreshing the palate.

I visited the restaurant on a weekday in August 2022 around 13:50 for a break. The restaurant was about 70% full. I ordered an iced tea, paid in advance, and it was quickly prepared. The iced tea had a refreshing taste, perfect for the hot day. I finished it quickly. The restaurant is located inside a mall and has a spacious interior. It had a surprisingly calm atmosphere. I might visit again in the future.

A 5-minute walk from Nakano Station, located inside Nakano Sun Mall. I visited around 3pm on a weekday and the place had been renovated, looking clean and not crowded, which was nice. I tried the Koala-shaped pancake filled with Ghana chocolate and custard, each costing 140 yen. The Ghana chocolate one was delicious with plenty of Ghana chocolate inside. The custard one reminded me of the nostalgic taste of the big pancakes sold at the local station platform in the past. The spacious store is perfect for a break during a busy Nakano exploration. There is a Lotteria that serves Koala March pies at three locations nationwide (Hakodate, Kushiro, and Oita). Although they open early at 6:30 am, the Koala March pies are only available from 11 am. I decided to have coffee after having curry. For some reason, old coffee shops often served curry and coffee together. There were boxes of Daiichi Seipan stacked up. I ordered the "French Toast Combo Morning" (330 yen) with hot coffee. I didn't receive a number tag, so I waited at the counter. I received a tray and sat at a table with a power outlet. Surprisingly, there was no WiFi. The coffee had a deep roasted bitterness, and the French toast was refreshing. Since I was in a rush, I left soon after. It was a decent meal.

I always noticed that Lotteria in Nakano Kitaguchi Shotengai sells something called Koala's March baked goods. Today, I bought them as a snack when I went out to eat with my colleague! They come in custard and Ghana milk flavors, a combination I really like. You get 4 pieces for 550 yen, which is 151 yen per piece. The custard was freshly baked and delicious! It was soft and chewy inside, with a crispy outer layer. I brought them back to share with my other colleagues and they were the perfect dessert/snack after our meal.

I went to Lotteria for the first time in a while. I felt like eating the delicious W Cheeseburger, so I ordered that as my main dish. I also got the classic Vanilla Shake and a large size of fries as a set. The W Cheeseburger is one of my top 3 favorite burgers, along with Burger King's Wopper and Spicy Mos Cheeseburger. They have a grass-fed beef burger as well, but I prefer the original. I also tried the new Mentaiko Mayo Tartar Shrimp Burger. It has tartar sauce by default, and the limited edition flavor is Mentaiko. It was delicious. The Vanilla Shake was nostalgic and tasty.

I'm the baseball king Saito! I dedicate my life to the essence of pitching, gourmet food, and alcohol! I made a pit stop at Lotteria in Nakano. I'm not a Lotte fan, but I feel a connection to baseball and end up rooting for this burger joint. Dom Dom used to be Daiei, but now it's Softbank! Located inside Sun Mall, it's easy to pop in when exploring Broadway. If you just want to satisfy your hunger, the Chicken Cheeseburger, tea, and small fries are just right. The Chicken Cheeseburger has a crispy coating that's delicious, and the Lotteria burger's soft bread with a hint of sweetness is a standout. The creamy tartar sauce in the Chicken Cheeseburger is flavorful and the fries are perfectly seasoned. This balance of flavors is just right. Matsuzaka had a good balance, just like this. The kids playing happily on the holiday made me feel nostalgic for my own childhood. I hope places like this can continue for a long time. See you later!
