Tokyo Ramen Yokocho welcomed the arrival of Fuunji! Tokyo Station, known as the soul food of Japan, is well-equipped to meet the needs of inbound tourists with a variety of famous ramen shops gathered in one place. Among them, Fuunji is a fantastic renowned shop in Shinjuku that you cannot miss when it comes to ramen. Despite the long queues, it is addictive and worth visiting. Surprisingly, at Tokyo Station, you can enjoy their ramen without waiting in line. While their tsukemen is famous, I am not a big fan of dipping noodles, so I ordered their signature ramen instead. The flavor of fish powder, thick and creamy soup, thinly sliced thick chashu, and medium-thick noodles are irresistible. Although I usually prefer clear broth or soy-based ramen, after eating at Fuunji, I couldn't help but think that their ramen is my new favorite. The only downside at the Tokyo branch is the lack of rice. It's a shame that you can't have rice with this delicious soup! I strongly hope they add rice to their menu! Thank you for the meal!

I visited the Fugutoji Tokyo Ramen Yokocho store on this day. I ordered the tsukemen (regular size 200g) for 950 yen including tax. The rich dipping sauce and smooth noodles mixed together nicely and tasted delicious. The speed of service was fast, which was also good. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal♪

Tokyo Station's Ramen Street is famous, but a new Ramen Alley has also opened. Being able to eat at Fuunji near Tokyo Station is the best!
Order: Special Tsukemen (dipping noodles) Medium size ¥1250
Taste: The same taste as the main store in Shinjuku. The broth is extracted from chicken, pork, and fish, with a collagen sweetness. The soft-boiled egg is perfectly seasoned, with a jelly-like texture inside. When eating the tsukemen, you can taste the complexity of the broth with a hint of fish powder. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I have been to Shinjuku before, but this was my first time here. The soup was piping hot and that was great. When it started to cool down, adding the extra soup made it just like new. The noodles had a strong egg flavor which I really liked. It had been a while since I had tsukemen with thick soup, but it was amazing. I enjoyed it while being mindful of my health, adding extra soup until I finished it all.

During a break in my business trip to Tokyo, I visited this restaurant. Tokyo Station has both Ramen Street and Ramen Yokocho, and Ramen Street had long lines while Ramen Yokocho had plenty of available seats. Since I was craving tsukemen in the heat, I chose this shop with its main branch in Shinjuku. I ordered the Special Tsukemen with medium noodles for 1200 yen. The dish arrived in 3-4 minutes. The rich soup was made from chicken and seafood, paired with medium-thick straight noodles and plenty of chashu. I could taste a hint of acidity, but overall, it was delicious. However, the chopsticks were too slippery, so my fingers got tired from repeatedly lifting the slippery noodles. Non-slip chopsticks or disposable chopsticks might be better.

I went to Tokyo Station and decided to visit a ramen shop called "未食" that opened early. It's located near the station, and I had some trouble finding it because there are many other shops around. The line for the Jiro-style ramen shop in front of me was impressive, showing the strong attraction of Jiro-style ramen. I ordered the tsukemen at the ticket machine and waited in line. I was seated in about 5 minutes and my bowl arrived shortly after. The noodles were thick and chewy, with a nice texture. The dipping sauce was thick and rich, with a chicken base that had a light flavor but a big impact. When I dipped the noodles in the sauce, they coated well and tasted delicious. The fish powder added an extra layer of flavor. The toppings like bamboo shoots, sliced pork, and seaweed were decent. Overall, it was a good deal to have this authentic ramen experience in the underground mall. It was just as good as the original shop.

Around 5:30 pm, I felt a little hungry, so I went to Furanji for a light dinner. There were no other customers at the time. I ordered a regular-sized tsukemen for 950 yen from the vending machine. It arrived within 5 minutes. The dipping sauce was served in a hot bowl with a rich and creamy soup topped with fish powder, making it even richer. It was just the right amount for a light dinner. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal.

There were many ramen shops at Tokyo Station, and I chose one quickly due to lack of time. They accepted electronic money for food tickets, which was convenient. The water was fresh and self-serve. It was hot, so I debated between tsukemen and ramen, but ended up ordering ramen due to time constraints. The rich soup coated the noodles well, just the way I like it. I wish I had more time to enjoy it calmly.

I visited around 11:15 am on a weekday. The place was already full. It's been over 5 years since I visited the main store in Shinjuku, where I remember waiting in line for about 30 minutes. Although it's not as crowded here, it still seems to be quite popular. I decided to try the regular ramen for 900 yen, as I had tried the tsukemen at the main store before. I received a paper apron and waited about 5 minutes for my order. The soup was very thick and rich. Both the noodles and the chashu were of high quality, as expected from this famous shop. Hmm, but I'm starting to find this rich soup a bit too heavy for my age. It was delicious though. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the main branch of Fuunji near my workplace, which is always crowded. This time, I was able to visit during a less busy time. There were no waiting customers when I arrived at 4:51 pm on Sunday, August 27, 2023. There were 2-3 customers already seated at the counter. They have a self-serve tea server for the revolving sushi. The dipping soup had a strong umami flavor from fish and chicken, which I understood why there is always a line. The noodles were medium-thick straight noodles. I enjoyed the dipping soup with bamboo shoots and chashu. The broth for dipping was in a pot on the counter. I made a mistake of adding too much of the broth, which diluted the flavor. I should have added it gradually. Overall, it was a delicious meal.

I had a rich tsukemen. It seems to be a soup made from seafood and chicken, but I didn't really taste the chicken. It must be heavenly for those who love rich and creamy seafood flavors, but it didn't really appeal to me. Thank you for the meal.

In 2023, I visited the 90th cup of ramen at the popular restaurant Fuunji in Tokyo Ramen Street near Tokyo Station. I always wanted to try it, but I couldn't go to the main store in Shinjuku because it's always crowded. So, I lined up during lunchtime on a weekday at this branch near my office, but the turnover was good, and I was seated right away! The ramen was rich and delicious with a great aftertaste! I thought it would be the best if the noodles were a bit firmer! Thank you for the meal! #Fuunji #TokyoRamenStreet #Marunouchi #Yaesu #YaesuGourmet #Yaechika #YaesuGourmet

I decided to stop by Tokyo Station on my way back from a trip and found a ramen alley. While walking through it, I came across a famous tsukemen (dipping noodles) shop from Shinjuku called Fuunji. Unlike in Shinjuku, there was no line here. I had been there about 6 or 7 years ago and remembered how delicious it was, so I decided to go in. I ordered a regular serving of tsukemen, as shown in the picture. The rich and creamy fish broth coated the thick noodles perfectly, and I finished it in no time. It was delicious as I remembered. I plan to visit Fuunji here more often from now on.

Before visiting the nearby art museum, I stopped by this restaurant. I arrived at 11:30 and was seated right away, unlike at the main branch where you usually have to wait. I ordered the tsukemen with 300g of noodles for 1050 yen. The broth was rich and delicious. The noodles were chewy and medium-thick. The rich soup was a combination of fish and chicken collagen. The chashu was very tasty, while the menma was average. I finished my meal in no time. Can't wait to see my cheeks looking plump and smooth tomorrow thanks to the collagen-packed soup. Can't wait to wake up!

In Shinjuku, there is a famous rich tsukemen restaurant called "Fuunji". You can eat there without waiting too long in the Yaesu underground shopping area of Tokyo Station, but there may be a wait of about 20 minutes during weekday lunch hours. However, the turnover is fast, so you can enter without too much worry. The energetic staff, who are fresh and lively, greet you with cheerful voices. This time, I ordered the regular "tsukemen medium size (950 yen)". They collect your meal ticket while you are waiting in line, so the waiting time from sitting down to being served is short. Now, the dish is served. The dipping sauce looks rich and the fish powder sits elegantly on top. The toppings include thinly sliced tender chashu, bamboo shoots, seaweed, and green onions. The noodles are thick and straight. When you dip the noodles and take a bite, the noodles lift up the rich chicken soup, creating a creamy flavor in your mouth. You can taste the creamy flavor of chicken, different from pork, along with the seafood. The 200g of noodles are quickly devoured. Finally, you can enjoy the soup by diluting it with water. Bon appétit! Oh, personally, having a water nozzle on the counter is a recommended point. It's easy to access and enjoy this rich tsukemen. If you haven't tried it yet, why not give it a go?

Today, I visited "Furyuji" at "Tokyo Ramen Yokocho," which consists of seven shops in a row, following Nagaoka Shokudo and Itoi. This is the third shop in this area. All the shops have friendly and energetic staff who provide great service. The ramen soup here is thick and goes well with the noodles, which are served piping hot. It's delicious ramen. One thing that bothers me a bit is that the kitchen staff and employees chatting loudly can be quite distracting. If you don't mind the loud conversations happening in front of you while your food is being served, then I recommend this place.

Visited around 12:30 for lunch. This was my third time at Tokyo Ramen Yokocho. Apparently, they are known for their popular tsukemen. I ordered the special tsukemen (large portion) for 1,250 yen because I wanted the seasoned egg. The noodles were medium thickness and delicious on their own. The dipping sauce was thick and rich, with added flavor from fish powder. The intense flavor made me wish for something to change it up a bit. It was nice to have a water tap at the table. Another delicious meal today.

I have a memory of entering a ramen shop in Shinjuku that was comparable to Fuunji, but I can't remember the taste and it has been bothering me. Tokyo Station was crowded on a weekday, and Ramen Street was packed because it was during the Obon holiday. We walked a bit and visited this place. Since they have a high number of seats, we didn't have to wait much even though there was a line. It was nice to be able to choose the amount of noodles, as I can't eat a lot. I tend to prefer places that provide aprons. The thick soup and noodles were well mixed and delicious. It's not a taste that I can't remember, but a memorable ramen indeed. ☺️

At Tokyo Ramen Alley, there are several ramen shops operated by Gift Holdings such as Gotton, Butsuyama, Original Abura-Do, and Machida Shoten. However, the standout is Fūunji, a separate ramen shop with its main store in Shinjuku. Interestingly, Fūunji at Tokyo Ramen Alley is also operated by Gift Holdings. On this day, I tried their signature dish, tsukemen (dipping noodles) priced at 950 yen. I chose the regular noodle portion (200g). After about 5 minutes of waiting, the ramen arrived piping hot. The noodles had a slight curl and were coated in the soup. The aroma of fish powder was very impressive. Although I don't eat tsukemen often, I have tried similar soups at other shops, so this one seemed like a typical tsukemen. One downside is that the noodles are cold, causing the soup to cool down quickly. Perhaps this is just the fate of tsukemen. From a business perspective, it's interesting to see Fūunji under the Gift Holdings umbrella, and I look forward to seeing how this unique collaboration unfolds in the future.

First time at Fukuju. Took the Shinkansen and arrived around 11:30, luckily didn't have to wait in line. Ordered the large portion of tsukemen. The broth was piping hot, just like the weather outside. The rich broth paired well with the slightly thin noodles, making it delicious. By the time I finished eating, there were 5-6 people waiting in line.

When I feel like having tsukemen, I always go to Fuyujin in the Ramen Yokocho at the Yaesu underground shopping area. I usually order the "zenbu mori" (extra noodles) tsukemen, and it never disappoints. The taste is great, the service is quick, and the staff is friendly. While they also serve ramen, my colleague tried it and recommended the tsukemen instead. Definitely give their tsukemen a try first!
