On September 6, 2023, Wednesday, around 11:30 AM, I visited a soba restaurant in Adachi-ku, Tokyo, near the Kandai highway. I visited alone wearing work clothes. There is a parking lot available, but smoking is not allowed. Credit cards are not accepted, so you need to use the food ticket machine. The restaurant is not located near a train station, which I find convenient. I had lunch at Tamamo, a standing soba-style restaurant, before heading to work in Edogawa-ku in the afternoon. This time, I tried the Calcium set for 550 yen and an onigiri for 120 yen, which I purchased from the food ticket machine. I requested kombu for the onigiri. You can choose the filling for the onigiri when you order, and they make it fresh for each order. The Calcium set includes items like onions, carrots, and small shrimp, all rich in calcium. The freshly fried tempura in the Calcium set was delicious. While Tamamo may offer standard soba, their tempura and onigiri are exceptional for the price. If you're someone who enjoys standing soba-style restaurants, I highly recommend giving this place a try. However, as mentioned earlier, it's more convenient to use a car to get there, so make sure to check the directions before visiting. Thank you for the meal.

On August 31, 2023, a Thursday, around 2:30 PM, I visited a stand-type soba restaurant called "Tamamo" in Adachi Ward, Shimane. I arrived alone in work clothes, and they had a parking lot. They do not accept credit cards and have a no smoking policy. I ordered a spring chrysanthemum tempura for 470 yen and an onigiri for 120 yen from the ticket machine. The tempura was freshly fried, and the onigiri was large and delicious with salmon flakes. The soba noodles were thick and chewy, with a slightly sweet broth. The tempura was really tasty for the price, and I was satisfied with the quality of the food. The staff, two women, were efficient and friendly. I have been wandering around Adachi Ward for about 15 years, and I regret not trying this restaurant sooner. I look forward to visiting Tamamo again in the future.

I went to Adachi Ward Tamamo after an early morning jog to recharge! It was a Saturday morning after 7 o'clock, but there were already 4 customers and more kept coming in. I ordered the spring chrysanthemum soba with squid tempura topping. The broth was so delicious, just like the soba broth in Kanamachi! The squid tempura was seasoned like fried chicken. The spring chrysanthemum tempura had a crispy and fragrant flavor. It was definitely worth stretching my legs after jogging! This was the best early morning soba I've ever had! Tamamo is now my number one, followed by Yukiguni and Nasubi, and I'm already thinking about where to go for my next recharge next week! Thank you for the delicious meal! I will definitely come back!

I drank too much the day before, so I wanted something gentle on my stomach. I rode my bike to the restaurant and when I arrived, my stomach felt better. I ordered "Tentama Soba" with egg and topped it with eggplant tempura. I finished it in an instant.

This morning's breakfast violence took place at a standing soba shop called "Tamamo" located in a residential area after passing Nishiarai Daishi towards Kappara on the Kan-Nana street by car. I enjoyed a delicious meal of salmon onigiri with tempura of spring vegetables on top of a seaweed soba. The taste was out of this world!! The shop opens promptly at 6 am, and it's recommended to arrive about 15 minutes after opening time to avoid the rush of craftsmen and drivers before work, as the shop tends to fill up quickly and the parking lot gets crowded.

Tamo@Adachi-ku Shimane A successful Ojisan dining spot that has been together with a CITROËN CX for 26 years tearfully bid farewell to the old companion and welcomed a new partner, Alfa Romeo MITO. I was initially confused by this 21st-century car, but after six months, I finally started to get used to it and appreciate its charm. I only choose cars based on design. With the MITO, I visited an unexplored area, Shimane in Adachi-ku. It's a tough location without a car, but thankfully they have a spacious kitchen and a U-shaped counter. The white-clad mothers efficiently worked around, and it was a sight to behold. I had tempura soba and fried rice. It's not common to see fried rice served with soba, except maybe at "Kameya" in Kodenmacho. The tempura had almost no batter, more like a simple fry, reminiscent of the now-closed "Echigo@Oshiage." The slightly sweet broth was gentle and well-balanced. The smooth soba slid down the throat smoothly. The fried rice, although it may be a frozen dish, was cooked in a frying pan rather than microwaved, resulting in a very nice finish. It's much better than the mediocre chain stores, with the vibrant pickled ginger adding a nice touch. It was delicious! They also offer tempura rice bowls, large portions of yakisoba, and more. I'm definitely coming back to try other dishes. It's conveniently located near Kappara Exit, and I'm now considering visiting places like Yukiguni in Umejima and Aizu in Horikiri. Morning detours are becoming more fun!

This is my favorite standing soba restaurant that I visit 2-3 times a month! Today's order is squid tempura, boiled egg, and inari sushi. Ever since I visited Yamagata Prefecture, I've become a fan of squid tempura, so I ordered extra squid tempura (lol). The soba dipping sauce at this place is really delicious, so I highly recommend it!

Geso Ten Soba for 450 yen. I had always been curious about this restaurant every time I passed by. It's quite far from the station and a bit hidden from the main street, yet it always seems to have a good amount of customers. This time, I was on my bike and decided to take a closer look. It was a little past 1 pm on a weekday, and the restaurant was about 80% full. Despite being labeled as a "standing-eating" place, there were spacious counter seats inside. It had a modern design with an automatic door and a ticket vending machine, similar to a chain restaurant rather than a small privately-owned noodle shop. One reason for its popularity might be the parking lot available, with space for 7 cars. I guess having a parking lot makes a big difference in convenience at this location. Now, onto the important part - the soba. I decided to try the Geso Ten Soba. After purchasing the ticket, the dish arrived promptly. The tempura-style squid was simple and crispy, with a nice texture. The broth was light and flavorful, typical of Kanto-style soba shops with a slightly light soy sauce base. The soba noodles were reheated boiled noodles, a classic style for standing-eating soba shops. Overall, it had an elegant and refined taste. The customers that day were mostly middle-aged to elderly men, who quickly slurped their noodles and left. It seems to be a popular spot for nearby workers. They open from 6 am, so I might visit for breakfast next time.

There are chairs, but judging from the menu and prices, it seems to be a standing soba noodle place. Since it was close to closing time, the broth was a bit strong, but it had a rich flavor. It was nice to have plenty of green onions. The tempura had small but tasty dried shrimp in it.

Today's early morning "Solitary Gourmet" featured a luxurious five-ingredient soba with salmon rice ball, meat, mushrooms, egg, wakame seaweed, and spring chrysanthemum tempura. It was incredibly delicious!! The rice ball, like the Bon-Goo in Otsuka, was not tightly packed, so it was fluffy and tasty.

I arrived just before 3 o'clock, missing the lunch rush. There was only one customer before me. Although I was in the mood for croquette soba, I decided to order the tanuki soba with extra egg because the croquettes are fried after you order, and I was pressed for time. The comforting taste of home-cooked meals by mothers. Another customer who arrived later ordered the pork cutlet rice bowl, which caught my attention.

Today, I worked remotely from home all day. My beloved dog went to obedience school in the morning, so I took a short walk from home to a standing soba restaurant. It's a popular soba restaurant, even though it's a bit far from the station. It's not a traditional soba restaurant, but more like a standing soba shop where they serve pre-cooked noodles in hot water. I read reviews that said their tempura squid was delicious, so both my beautiful wife and I ordered soba with tempura squid and topped it with shrimp tempura. We also shared a mini curry rice. The tempura squid was indeed delicious, and the shrimp tempura was a good size with tasty batter. The soba itself was good, with a strong bonito broth flavor. They served the tempura fresh and the vegetable tempura was only 80 yen each.

At Tama Mo in Shimane, they have a special kind of onigiri that I want to eat again. We, the Tokyo Hormones, are a group of foodies who love to try different dishes. Lately, I've been walking towards Nishiarai Daishi more often. Every time I go there, I end up putting money in the donation box, buying something from the stalls, or getting lucky charms on Sundays. I realized that I've been spending quite a bit of money at Nishiarai Daishi recently. When I mentioned this to a monk, he told me that I don't need to donate because they are making a lot of money. So, I started giving 10 yen instead of 100 yen. On this particular day, I suddenly craved for soup, so I changed my plan to have morning soba instead of coffee at Nishiarai Daishi. I went to a new soba shop and ordered chikuwa tempura. The highlight of the day was that they made onigiri fresh to order, not pre-made. It was a nice experience, and I decided that I must order extra onigiri next time. After this pleasant meal, I felt motivated to go back and work hard. Do you know about that tunnel near Nishiarai Daishi? It's a road that goes under the railway tracks, and it used to scare me as a child. Even as an adult, it still feels eerie. I looked it up and found out that it's a famous haunted spot. I've been enjoying exploring different eateries recently. I wonder which standing soba shop I should visit next time!

Long time no visit. It's been about half a year I think. I feel like it's been around for 15 years? 20 years ago. The average age seems to be on the higher side, with energetic mothers working at the shop. I was in the mood for croquette soba, so I ordered soba with croquette on top. The croquette is fried after you order it, so it's piping hot. A delicious restaurant in many ways.

This is a udon and soba restaurant that opens early in the morning at 6:00. It may seem like a standing-eating place, but they actually have chairs available. There is also a standing-eating area by the window for those who prefer that. You purchase a food ticket from the vending machine and hand it over to the staff behind the counter, like a system where you give it to a celebrity. This time, I ordered the squid tempura udon. You help yourself to water and wait for your order. The Kanto-style broth is not as dark or spicy as it looks. It used to be a bit of a challenge for me, but I find it quite enjoyable now. The noodles are on the firmer side, not particularly chewy. The squid tempura is different from what you might expect in Kansai or Kagawa, where it usually has several legs attached. Here, it is only the first joint of the tentacle that is fried. The texture is good, but it feels like something is missing. In terms of value for money, it's not bad. The squid tempura udon costs 430 yen.

I found a standing soba restaurant called TGS located to the west of a small bakery called "Handmade Bread and Coffee Tabana" that used to rent a parking lot from Coco's. The soba shop is open from morning and is located just one block to the west from the bakery. It is easily accessible by crossing the Tobu Isesaki Line overpass from the west, turning north onto Take-no-Tsuka Center Street from the Kan-Nana Road, and passing the first traffic light on the left-hand side. The shop has a parking lot to the east, across the road from the shop, with a capacity of 7 cars. The shop has a bright interior with a U-shaped counter, and as soon as you enter, there is a ticket machine and a water server on the left. I ordered the "Tempura Soba" (430 yen) from the ticket machine and handed it to the busy white-clad women behind the counter. Inside the spacious kitchen, the women were busy preparing various dishes. The broth was lightly sweet with a mild taste, but the noodles were disappointing as they were soft and lacked buckwheat flavor. The tempura was crispy and well-fried, but better quality noodles would have showcased the skills of the women. A truck driver who came in later ordered a soba with burdock tempura, eggplant tempura, and a salmon rice ball, and one of the women started making the rice ball right away. The made-to-order rice ball was large and crispy with a fluffy seaweed wrap. Despite the clean and warm atmosphere of the shop, the noodles were the only letdown. After finishing the meal, the women wiped the table, thanked me, and sent me off with a cheerful "Thank you very much!"

Standing eating soba and udon restaurant "Tamamo" is located very close to Mamimart. On weekdays at 11:15, there was already one customer inside. There is a ticket machine on the left side as you enter, offering kake soba and udon starting at 290 yen, as well as curry rice and yakisoba. I chose the curry soba for 470 yen. Although it is a standing eating style, there are chairs available. Self-serve water is available next to the ticket machine. The curry gradually becomes spicy as you eat it. There are two parking lots nearby, in front of the restaurant. Thank you for the meal!

Tamamo☆Nishiarai. Shungiku Tempura Soba - 440 yen. Gobo Tempura - 80 yen. This shop is located 600 meters from Nishiarai Station. Three older ladies run the shop. They make delicious vegetable tempura, so I couldn't resist adding gobo tempura (laughs). The soba noodles are the standard type. The broth doesn't have any distinctive features. The shungiku tempura was slightly fried earlier. The gobo tempura was also fried a little earlier, but they cut it in half before adding it, showing some attention to detail. The best part of this shop was the rice balls. They are made fresh one by one after you order. They were a decent size, so not ordering one was a mistake (laughs). They open from 6 am, so they might be a central shop in this area (laughs).

I went to Ramen and Udon restaurant Tamamo. They have a parking lot. I tried the Squid Tempura Soba for 400 yen. The tempura had a crispy coating with tender squid inside. The soba noodles were soft and flavorful. The broth had a strong dashi flavor but was not too salty, so I could easily finish it all. It was delicious! (*^^*)
