I happened to be in the neighborhood for work, and when I searched for nearby restaurants, this place popped up as the closest one. Next door was a Sichuan restaurant, and I was torn between getting mapo tofu there or prioritizing the principle of "ichi-go ichi-e" and visiting this place. The menu was a bit confusing, but I decided to go with the Ma-Kara-Men, assuming it would be quite spicy. I ordered the Mega size, thinking that the portion would increase by 100g increments from Large to Special to Mega, but when it arrived, I was shocked by how huge it was. It looked like it weighed about 1kg, with a generous amount of char siu in the middle, which I estimate to be around 80-100g. The pricing was very reasonable considering the portion size, with the regular size costing 700 yen, and the Mega size costing an additional 300 yen. The char siu was an extra 280 yen. The soup had a unique flavor, slightly milder than traditional Sichuan hot and sour soup, with a good balance of spiciness, numbing sensation, and acidity. The noodles were chewy and delicious, and the char siu that came with the soup was also tasty. Overall, it was a refreshing change from the usual rich and heavy dipping noodles I usually have. The char siu was particularly outstanding, tender and flavorful. If I had to point out one thing, it would be that with the Mega size, I wished there were more options for flavor variation besides just spiciness. If you're looking for a bold and stimulating taste experience, I would recommend this place as a unique choice.
