After feeling a bit tired from the summer break, I was in the mood for something spicy tonight, so I decided to go to a Korean izakaya called "Full House" near the station. The appetizer consisted of three small Korean dishes: Napa cabbage kimchi (Kkakdugi), bean sprout namul, and surprisingly, soy sauce-infused tofu. For my first drink, I chose a Makgeolli Sour to pay homage to Korea. Lately, I've been overeating, so I opted for the Bibim noodles as my main dish (which turned out to be quite heavy...). I also ordered the "Sakura Yukhoe" for some stamina boost. The Sakura Yukhoe had a nice sesame oil flavor that paired well with the alcohol. The noodles came with scissors for cutting... Spicy yet flavorful, with a nice touch of apple slices. The restaurant was cool with the air conditioning, but I started to sweat a bit. Next time, I plan to come with my family and try the LA Galbi, marinated bone-in beef ribs in soy sauce base, along with Jeon, Jjigae, and Bibimbap. That's what I'm thinking these days.

My aunt who lives in Akabane is addicted to Korean dramas but has never tried Korean food before. So, my brother, my aunt, and I decided to go try it together. There aren't many Korean restaurants in Akabane, mostly just yakiniku and horumon places. We started at 3:30 pm on a Sunday to avoid any effects for the next day. We toasted with lemon sour instead of beer and ordered a variety of dishes including kimchi, namul, kochori, potato jeon, japchae, ganjang gejang, and bone-in kalbi. The food was good but not exceptional, with the spiciness being quite mild. We ended up spending a total of 21,000 yen for three people, which was a bit expensive. We could have opted for a cheaper course with all-you-can-drink options for around 4,000 yen. The staff were all Korean and provided excellent service.

Went to Akabane with a friend who wanted to eat samgyeopsal. We started with a cheers at Chamisul and then had the thick-cut pork belly. We grilled it until the fat became crispy, then wrapped it in lettuce with kimchi and garlic. We also ordered kimchi, chijimi, and changja for variety, and enjoyed it all with fresh makgeolli. It's great to come here with a large group and try a variety of dishes. Summer is the perfect time for this, but honestly, it's good all year round.

I wanted to eat Korean food and contacted Buta Pusa, but they were fully booked. They guided me to their second branch, which was located on the second floor of a building on the right side as soon as you enter the first street. When I arrived for my 6:00 reservation, I was a bit worried as there was only one staff member handling everything at first, but then two women and a man who seemed like the manager appeared and the service improved instantly. I ordered the all-you-can-drink option and the beer was nice and cold. I ordered Sundae, Senmai sashimi, Kkernchim, and Kamjatang. There were different sizes available for Kamjatang, and I initially ordered the small size but was asked if I wanted to change to the large size as it seemed like it might not be enough. I changed it to the large size, which turned out to be the right decision. The Senmai sashimi was mixed with vegetables and had a great texture, pairing well with the vinegar miso. The Kkernchim was fluffy and delicious, with a light flavor and a great mouthfeel. The Kamjatang, which was my main target, was spicy and the meat was cooked just right, meeting my expectations. The all-you-can-drink option stops taking orders exactly 30 minutes before closing time, showing that they are strict with their rules. The restaurant is smoke-free and maintains good hygiene standards. They also have windows open, allowing you to make eye contact with customers at the izakaya across the street, giving it a nice atmosphere typical of Akabane. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal.

Revisited with 100% certainty, entered a full house at Akabane during the day. I wanted to introduce my Korean friend, but the manager is apparently busy at a different branch. Ended up at a Korean alley izakaya called Rula with my real Korean friend. I thought I had completely forgotten Korean, but it mysteriously comes out when I'm drunk. This time, we ordered safe dishes, but the attitude of not catering to Japanese tastes was still impressive to Shuuki. The hospitality from the incredibly beautiful Chinese staff left Linda extremely satisfied for the night.
《strong point》
- Hats off to the hospitality of the incredibly beautiful staff
- The boldness of not catering to Japanese tastes!!
《Improvement points》
- Linda felt lonely without the manager present. But he did come over to greet us specially this time.

While strolling around Akabane Ichiban-gai, I came across a Korean izakaya that caught my eye. Despite being before opening hours, I was warmly welcomed with "Annyeonghaseyo" and "Gochisousama desu." The kitchen was run by a young man who had just finished his military service (or so it seemed), with a charming and friendly demeanor. This young master was incredibly skilled and had a strong sense of hospitality, offering delicious, affordable, and generous portions at the izakaya. I started with a Chumisul cucumber on the rocks, a drinking style I learned during my time in Korea. Next, I enjoyed some Makgeolli served in a traditional kettle and aluminum tea cup, transporting me to a back alley stall near Seoul Station. It's amazing how Chumisul and Makgeolli have become part of a diverse lineup now. For food, I had Tteokbokki, Kimchi Chijimi, Mandu (complimentary), and Yangnyeom Chicken, all of which were incredibly delicious and did not cater to Japanese taste buds at all, showing a refreshing boldness! And let's not forget the beautiful Agashi on the floor! You have to experience the rolling thunder of Korean cuisine created by these two! Seriously, you'll miss out on life if you don't.

I wanted to eat potato pancake (Chijimi) and visited this place for the first time. It seems they opened in November, but I remember climbing these stairs from the previous private room izakaya days. The menu had the Chijimi I was looking for, but no soups (Chige, Tang) available? If you want soup, your only option is ramen. I requested the seafood Chijimi and also ordered Chapchae. I'll consider getting Yangnyeom Chicken later after seeing how things go. The waitress is a Chinese girl, and the kitchen is run by Korean guys. The Chijimi is a thick type. Despite the price, it's not small at all. It's a regular size. It's my first time having potato Chijimi that's not in a round shape. Both are chewy in texture. The Chapchae has a good balance of sesame oil, soy sauce, and garlic, with enjoyable flavors and textures. The ingredients are simple but the taste is strong. I'll try the chicken next time. I really wanted some kind of soup after all.

I love spicy food, so when I mentioned that to the waiter, they recommended the Vampire Chicken, which was the perfect level of spiciness! Spicy chicken paired with beer for a toast! It's a Korean dish that also includes cheese Dakgalbi and Tteokbokki.

The food overall was delicious. Especially the samgyeopsal was tasty. No need to go to Shin-Okubo! The service was quick and the prices were not high.

When I opened up Tabelog to find a second place to eat, I found one nearby and decided to go there immediately. There were no other customers besides us, so we were able to relax a lot (laughs). A hidden gem? The chijimi was thick and delicious, and the chapchae had thick glass noodles, making it satisfying to eat.
